Author's Note: Hello, one and all! Welcome back to another new installment of Summer of Love!

Before I begin, I want to say rest in peace to actor William Hurt who played Angus Tuck in the 2002 film. You will be missed and what an incredible performance.

Thanks for your patience. After posting the last chapter, I took a break from this story and shifted focus to one of my other stories. Also, I did have an inkling of how I wanted to write this chapter before it left my brain.

Anyways, I hope you all enjoy the new chapter. Thank you to Spoffen and Luke Skywalker2567 for the reviews, glad you're catching on. And a thank you to everyone who favorited and followed: Luke Skywalker2567, lizziecats, Happily Sparkly Unknown, World Mysterious, JannerWingfeather, The Dangerous Overpowered Trap and kissedbythemoon13.

Read on everybody, no flames! Tuck Everlasting belongs to Disney & Natalie Babbitt, I just own my OC.

Chapter 9

"Okay, sweetie. You're all set." Rosalie's father, Daniel Montgomery said to eight-year-old Rosalie. He and his wife, Caroline Foster-Montgomery, are dropping off their only daughter at Robert Foster's home. The pair are going on vacation while Rosalie stayed with Caroline's brother, sister-in-law and niece Winnie.

"Mother, Daddy, when will you be back?" Rosalie asked.

"In about a week, Rose my darling." Caroline answered. "Meanwhile, you'll get to spend time with your aunt, uncle, and favorite cousin."

"Be a good girl to your aunt and uncle." Daniel instructed. "And have fun."

"I will, Daddy." Rosalie said, hugging both of her parents.

"Goodbye, sweetheart. We love you," said Caroline.

"I love you, too;" said Rosalie.

"Have a great time, Caroline and Daniel." Mrs. Foster said.

"Thanks." Rosalie's parents pick up their suitcases and headed for the car.

"Bye, Daddy! Bye, Mother!" The small child waved.

Her relatives wave goodbye as well. Caroline and Daniel wave at Rosalie. The car starts up and they pulled out. As they drive away, something tragic occurred. In the blink of an eye, a different vehicle crashes into the automobile containing Rosalie's parents; killing them.

A look of horror appeared on young Rosalie's face.

"No!" She screamed. "Mom! Daddy!"

Rosalie ran towards the car, with Robert, Winnie and Mrs. Foster behind her. They tried to save the couple, but it was too late. Daniel and Caroline were already dead.

"Come back! Please, don't leave me!" Rosalie yelled.

Immediately; Rosalie woke up, screaming so loud, she woke up Winnie and the Tucks.

"Rose, what's wrong?" Winnie asked her cousin, startled. She climbs out of the cot and went over to Rosalie.

"I had a nightmare about my parents dying. I dreamt about the day they dropped me off. Just as they were leaving, a car crashed into them." Her voice cracks and she starts to cry.

Before Winnie could say anything; Angus, Mae, Jesse and Miles entered the girls' room.

"What's going on in here?" Angus inquired.

"Rose had a bad dream about her parents' death." Winnie informed the clan.

"It was awful!" Rosalie cried, her face twisted in anguish as more tears rolled down. "My aunt, uncle, Winnie and I ran to their car, trying to save them…but by then, they were gone!"

Miles goes over to the upset girl and put his arms around her, comforting the older Foster. Still weeping, Rosalie returns the hug and allowed Miles to rub circles on her back, to calm her down. He even softly whistles the melodic, music box tune into Rosalie's ear.

Mae and Angus looked amazed at the exchange occurring between the two, while Jesse and Winnie stared. The Tucks and Winnie were rather shocked to see Miles act this way, in a long time.

Eventually, Rosalie calmed down and Miles wiped away her tears with the back of his hand. Winnie went back to her cot and the other three Tucks leave the room. But Miles stayed put.

"You go on ahead, I'll make sure Rosalie will be okay." He said.

Mae, Jesse and Angus exchanged surprised looks and then they left.

Miles gently laid Rosalie down and pulled the covers over her.

"Think you can get some rest, now?" He asks softly.

"Yes," Rosalie nodded.

"All right. Sleep now, Rose. Relax, pleasant dreams." Miles caressed Rosalie's cheek with his hand and gently kissed her on the lips; as Rosalie drifted off into a deep slumber.

The next morning, Rosalie was doing chores when Miles approached her.

"Hey,"

"Hi, Miles," said Rosalie, turning around.

"Did you sleep good?" Miles asked.

Rosalie nodded. "Much better,"

"I'm truly sorry I woke all of you up last night, screaming." She added.

"It's alright, Rosalie." Miles assured. "It was a nightmare, that's all."

Both he and Rosalie hug each other, with Miles tenderly kissing her lips.

From then on, Winnie and the other three Tucks were made aware of the blossoming romance between Miles and Rosalie. They were astounded, for they never thought Miles would move on from losing his first wife and two children. But alas, both Rosalie and Winnie's time at the Tucks' will be cut short.

A/N: Well, I hoped you guys liked it! This chapter was somewhat short, but the next few will be a bit longer.

It was my idea to write a chapter about Rosalie having a nightmare about her parents' death, I wanted to add drama and a little bit more Rosalie x Miles fluff. I tried writing it as best I envisioned.

Now, that we're over that hump, coming up next the man in the yellow suit shows up at the Tucks' cabin.

More to come, see you next time!
