It was past 11 when Deku finally called it a night. He had been busy writing notes before doing some extra training in the front yard and hadn't noticed the time until a few minutes ago. Now, only a few others were still hanging around in the lounge area.

"I win again," Shoji said calmly, holding up his cards to show them.

"Damn, how are you this good?" Jiro complained, throwing down her cards.

"RAAHHH!" Bakugo roared, blowing the cards in his hands into ash.

Yaoyorozu sighed and her own hands shimmered, creating replicas of the cards Bakugo just destroyed. "You really need to stop doing that," she said.

"Don't you tell me what to do! And you! How are you this good?"

Shoji shrugged.

"That's not an answer!"

"It is getting late," Tokoyami noted, looking at the clock. "Perhaps we should turn in?"

"Good idea. Everyone get a good night's sleep so we'll be ready to go for training tomorrow!" Iida said, waving his arms robotically as he did so.

"Great, more training."

They all filed away to their rooms, saying their respective goodnights. Deku pulled on his pajamas and crawled into bed, staring up at the ceiling. He couldn't even close his eyes, his brain too full of questions. It wasn't until close to midnight that he finally slipped off into sleep.

A few minutes later, on the roof, the air suddenly turned in on itself and a vortex appeared. Ten figures emerged from it, the last one looming over all the others.

"Alright, positions," the leader said, a man dressed in navy blue tactical gear with a white cape and hood and a skull mask. Across his back was a shield with an orange symbol on it and at his side was a sword handle which could be ignited into an energy blade at a moment's notice.

One figure in an armored suit instantly took to the sky, hovering up there. The others set up position around the roof, a few consulting the maps they had provided. Their leader didn't need it though, the image burned into his mind after one look.

"Electro," he said. "Take out the power."

"You got it." One of the figures, a man in a green and yellow welding suit, reached out for the power boxes around the building, connecting to them and drawing on them, effectively shutting them off. As he did, lightning flashes appeared around his face like a flower in bloom.

Max Dillon aka Electro. He can generate electrostatic energy across his body up to 10,000,000 volts and can disperse it in powerful lighting attacks. He's also able to connect with any electrical device and take control of it, including shutting it down.

"All power is down, all systems are off."

"Alright," the leader said, consulting his watch. "Black Ant, you're up first."

"Roger!" the black-suited man saluted.

Eric O'Grady aka Black Ant. With the help of Pym Particles, he can shrink to the size of an ant while still retaining strength and speed, or grow to giant proportions. He can also communicate with ants and ask them for help. He's not the real Eric O'Grady though, just an LMD gained sentience so actually has increased strength, speed, and durability than that of a normal human.

He shrank down to the size of an insect and sent out a call through his helmet. Almost immediately, an ant flew up and landed next to him. He clambered on and flew down the sides of the building.

"Ok, now where is it," he mumbled. He went to consult the map before remembering it was currently giant-size for him. "Aw damn it. Alright, well in the briefing you were told it was…um…ah crap. Well maybe it's over here…"

"Damn it, Black Ant!" the leader said over the comms, causing Black Ant to wince. "It's the 3rd floor and third window on your right-hand side."

"Ah, gotcha," he replied, already seeing the window in front of him. "Right, well let's head on inside, shall we?" He nudged his ant forward, flying right up to the window and dismounting smoothly. He then twisted a dial on his suit and he shrank even further, now able to squeeze through the window. Once on the other side, he grew back to normal small size. He pulled out the tranquilizer gun from his pocket. Thanks to some crafting, when fired at small size, the dart grew to full size when striking a target. "In position." He took aim at the girl, sleeping in the bed. He frowned when he noticed what appeared to be cables growing out of her ears. Was she some kind of mutant or something?

"Ok," the leader said. "Spot, you're up."

"Copy." The figure in the white suit covered in black spots stepped up, suspending a black spot in mIidair in front of him. He then pulled out his own tranquilizer dart and pushed his arm through the spot, having it appear in the room below him right above the face of a certain multi-armed teenager.

Johnathon Ohnn aka Spot. He can change the spots across his body into portals to wherever he wants, as long as its close by. He can also move the spots to suspend around him so he can move through them easily.

"And…go."

Both Spot and Black Ant acted simultaneously. Spot pricked the boy whose eyes seemed to flicker open for a second before the fast-acting serum sent him to a deep sleep. Black Ant's target, however, did wake up as the dart suddenly grew in size. Her eyes widened and she made a move to cry out or get out of the way but it was too late, the dart striking her bare arm. She managed a soft groan before slumping over.

"Target down."

"Same here."

"Good work. Titanium Man, we are go for pickup."

"Roger," the armored figure hovering above them said before flying down. Spot opened the window for him after creating another portal and Titanium Man reached inside and carefully pulled the boy out, draping him over a shoulder. He then flew up and over the roof again to the other window which Black Ant opened as well, taking the girl inside and placing her next to the boy. The two were quickly tied up and lain near where their portal back would appear. Titanium Man then flew back up into the air.

Boris Bullski aka Titanium Man. He doesn't have any special abilities, just a massive suit of armor that augments Bullski's already powerful body so his speed, strength, and stamina. The armor is an extremely dense titanium shell and can withstand almost anything thrown at it. It allows Bullski to fly and offers a range of weapons from energy beams to missiles. With it, Bullski nearly managed to beat Iron Man on several occasions.

"Move on to secondary targets," the leader said.

"Uh…"

The leader sighed and then directed Black Ant over to his next target.

Deku was sleeping fitfully. He could see the past users of One For All there but they were shrouded in smoke. He tried to move closer but couldn't. It sounded like they were trying to say something but he couldn't make it out.

"What do you want?" he asked.

"…a…p…"

"What?" he tried to focus on their voices. "Is this about the floating quirk?" He tried looking for Nana Shimura but they all looked the same now, just blurs in the background.

"…a…k…p…"

"I don't know what you're saying," he told them. But he could sense their urgency. He could still make out their eyes burning into him, as if trying to convey the message through them. He just didn't know what it was.

"…ake…p…"

"Akep?" he frowned. "No, that can't be it. Wait…" He focused. What would they be saying right now to interrupt in him his sleep. Was he in danger? Was that it? If so, they should be telling him to…oh.

"Wake…up!"

Deke's eyes shot open just in time to see the dart flying right towards him. Acting on instinct, he grabbed his blanket and threw it around him just in time, the dart striking it and falling harmlessly to the floor.

"Ah shit!" Black Ant cursed. "Boss, he's awake."

Deku took a deep breath and then yelled at the top of his lungs, "WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!"

Instantly, across the building, eyes flew open as the other students heard his scream. Todoroki woke just in time to see the hand hovering above his neck. Without second thought, a wall of ice shot out around him.

And we're back. Hope you like this chapter and the build-up. Should hopefully start updating more regularly soon. Til then, enjoy.

A bit of warning though. I mentioned this on my other stories that I am going on hiatus with writing fanfiction to focus on getting my own book published. This story won't be as affected as most of the first story arc is written so I should be able to finish it soon. After that though, we'll see.
