In the early 1970s,
Everything was going smoothly at the nuclear test site as the military was about to launch three tested nuclear missiles. Until a large explosion opened up the room where the missile was going to launch. Walking into the room was Vilgax, but much slimmer and younger. With him were three of his drones, and one of them attached itself to a missile. Before Vilgax could do anything else, two men in blue jumpsuits came into the room through a door, and they were heavily armed. As the two men shoot at the drones and Vilgax, he blocks their shots.
One of them ran at Vilgax, and the other one shouted.
"Phil, no!"
But Phil ignored him and tried to go one-on-one with the alien, but Vilgax got him to remove his helmet and put a ray pistol barrel against his head.
"Put down your gun, or your partner is not going to live," said Vilgax.
Meanwhile, the drone took control of the missile and was ready to launch itself.
"Soon one of your cities near this distance is going to be a wasteland," said Vilgax.
But the man didn't put down his gun. Instead, he managed to blast the ray gun off Vilgax's hands. Then Phil elbowed Vilgax in the gut to get out of his grasp. Then the man shot a rubbery substance out of the gun, and it attached to Vilgax, and he got stuck on the missile with the drone.
"You're letting him get away, Tennyson," said Philp.
The man takes off his helmet to reveal a younger Max Tennyson.
"No, Vilgax is going out with a bang," said Max.
Vilgax screamed before blasting off into the air. "Tennyson!"
The missile blasted and didn't fly into the city; instead, it went straight toward the Vilgax flagship and exploded.
The present
"That was the last time I saw Vilgax until now," said Max.
After retelling his past with Vilgax while driving the rustbucket, he told Gwen and Lincoln about what the plumbers he works for actually do instead of what the average people think.
"Plumbers were to protect the world from any extraordinary and out-of-the-norm threats. It was an organization that had dozens of plumbers around the galaxy. But for Earth after Vilgax, there weren't any major threats to Earth, so they left. "
Gwen and Lincoln both have mixed reactions to Max's story, with Lincoln not really certain how to feel about what he had, and as for Gwen, she wasn't happy with her grandpa.
"I can't believe you didn't tell us this earlier," said Gwen.
"Sorry, Gwen, I wanted to tell you two when we were safe, but that didn't happen," said Max.
"So what happened now?" said Lincoln.
"We just move forward."
"Hopefully with no more secrets," said Gwen.
Then they saw many fire trucks and police cars driving past them toward a hotel. Seeing this, Lincoln wanted to help, and he tried to transform into Fasttrack, but instead, he turned into Diamondhead.
"Oh c'mon, I thought I was over this," said Diamondhead.
The three head over to the building, and the authorities surround the place. Diamondhead sneaked through the back to find out what the commotion was about. There was nothing out of the ordinary in the building, but then he heard a noise. He turned around and saw a small red creature with a curved jaw, and Diamondhead laughed at it.
"This is the fuse about this thing," said Diamondhead in between laughs.
Then the creature jumped in the air and kicked Diamondhead square in the chest, knocking him back.
"Alright, didn't think you were that strong," said Diamondhead.
He tried to capture the creature with his crystals, but the creature moved around fast enough to dodge the crystal and ran off further into the building. Diamondhead went after the creature, but then he saw an older man holding a blaster in a pale blue jumpsuit.
"Ah, another alien," said the older man, who then blasted Diamondhead in the head and fell down. "I'll take care of you later."
It didn't take too long for Diamondhead to recover, and he got back on his feet and shook it off. He then found the older man trying to shoot at the creature, but it knocked him into a bookshelf, causing it to fall onto the old man. Seeing the creature distracted, Diamondhead ran up and grabbed it and knocked it out with one punch. But then Diamondhead turned back to Lincoln. He walked out of the hotel with Max and Gwen waiting for him.
"Are you alright?" said Gwen.
"Yeah, I'm fine except this one guy shot me in the face," said Lincoln.
Speaking of the devil, the older man walked out, and Max recognized the man.
"Phil?" said Max.
The older man looked at Max and grinned. "Max."
The two gave a handshake, and Max turned to Gwen and Lincoln.
"Gwen, Lincoln, this is my old partner Phil from my plumber days," said Max.
"Ah, these must be your grandkids." Phil said
"No, Lincoln is just a friend I brought on this trip," said Gwen.
"Nice to meet you, sir," said Lincoln.
"I'm glad to see you again, Max, with that little alien in there taken care of. I'm thinking that now you're here, we could reform the plumbers. What do you say?" Phil said
"Sorry, but I like being retired; Phil, my plumber days are over," said Max.
"Hm, I understand, Max."
"It's nice to see you again, Phil, but the kids and I have got to go."
As Phil watches Max, Lincoln, and Gwen walking away, he notices Lincoln Omnitrix and thinks.
That looks familiar.
The three go back to the road, and Lincoln asks Max.
"Why didn't you tell Phil about the Omnitrix?"
"I want the Omnitrix to be known by fewer people," said Max.
I mean, it would be a good idea to tell Phil about the Omnitrix and maybe even reform the plumbers."
"No, Lincoln, that would be like re-living the past, and that has never been good."
Then a monitor came out of the dashboard, and Phil appeared on it.
"Max, if you're hearing this, I need your help over at the processing plant with these two Vulpimnacers," said Phil.
Max turned the rustbucket around and headed to the processing plant to help Phil. Once they arrived at the processing plant, they saw Phil up against two dog-like creatures with no eyes.
"I think it's time to turn alien on Lincoln," said Gwen.
"Got it," said Lincoln, and he transformed into Four arms.
Without releasing that, Phil saw him turn even with Vulpimnacers blocking his view. Four arms whistle, getting two Vulpimnacers' attention, and go at him. Four arms try to overpower the two, but it is hard with the Vulpimnacers trying to chop at him. But luckily, Phil took out a sonic weapon and aimed it at the two Vulpimnacers, and it affected them, stunning and confusing them.
"What's wrong with them?" said Gwen.
Max explained, "The Vulpimnacers used their other four senses since they don't have eyes, and hearing is a major one of their senses."
With this, Four arms grabbed the two and threw them into a meat locker, closed it, and moved a forklift in front of the meat locker door.
"Ah, glad for your guy's help. I thought I could handle it," said Phil.
"It's not a problem, Phil," said Max.
"Hey, why don't you and the kids come by my hotel room and chat a bit? Maybe we can talk about the partnership again."
Max thought something was not right here, and Phil was part of it.
The Tennysons and Lincoln walked into Phil's hotel room, and it was luxurious with nice items of furniture and even a table full of food. A hungry Lincoln approached it and took a couple of shrimp from a plate.
Phil came in and asked, "What do you think of the place?"
"It's pretty nice. I'm surprised you can afford a room like this?" said Max.
"I have my ways," Phil said as he sat in an armchair.
"I still find it strange that two Vulpimnacers and the other would show up all in one day?"
"And that is why we need to re-establish the plumber and deal with these alien threats."
"Like I said before, I'm retired, Phil. I think I'm going to look for an answer." Max walked out.
Phil had a concerned look on his face and told Lincoln and Gwen, "Help yourself on room service. I gotta do something real quick." Phil left the room.
"Something up with Phil?" said Gwen.
"Yeah, I was strange when your grandpa wanted to look around," said Lincoln.
"You don't suppose he has something to do with aliens?"
"I mean, he was there when the alien came around. But where did the aliens come from, and does Phil have anything to do with it? "
"Alright then, you go check out Grandpa and Phil. While I look around at Phil's stuff."
"Fine, just be careful."
"I will."
At Mount Rushmore, Max went into a room where he was supposed to have one single item in it, but the item was missing, which worried Max.
If the Null Void Projector is gone, and that means..., Max thought as he turned around and saw Phil with the Null Void Projector.
"You were always too smart for your own good, Max," said Phil.
"So you have been releasing and recapturing aliens from Null Void for money," said Max.
"You got that right. Unlike you, being the plumber was all I had, so I might well make a profit off of it."
"This isn't right."
"You may think that way, but you won't live to stop me."
Phil used the Null Void projector and unleashed a large green alien with sharp feet, claw-like hands, and a massive mouth.
"It's too bad, though, those two kids of yours would be fine plumbers," said Phil.
"Not so fast," said Fasttrack, making his entrance, then thought, god, that was an awful pun.
Phil ran out of the room before Fasttrack could confront Phil; he had to deal with aliens in the room.
"I'm going to get something to take care of Org Beast. Lincoln tries to hold him off," said Max, running into another room.
"I'll try," said Fasttrack.
He dodges the Org claw attacks, and he runs in circles, making the beast dizzy. But it didn't last long as the beast managed to hit Fasttrack hard enough that he bounced into the wall and turned back to Lincoln. Luckily, Max came back with a large stun gun and shot at the Org, shocking it, and it was knocked out.
Max went to Lincoln and asked, "Are you alright, son?"
"I'm fine, Mr. Tennyson," said Lincoln.
"Lincoln, where is Gwen?"
"Ah, crud."
Before Lincoln went into Mount Rushmore, Gwen wanted to check Phil's car, so Lincoln dropped her off, and she managed to get into the car. Now she was hiding in the backseat of the car as Phil got in the car and sped off. He threw the Null Void projector into the backseat.
What's that?
Gwen tried to grab the item, but Phil noticed and grabbed her hand.
"Not so fast, missy." What are you trying to do?" Phil said
"Stop whatever you are doing," said Gwen, grabbing the Null Void projector.
Phil tried to capture the Null Void projector but didn't watch as he turned back to it. He saw that he was on the wrong side of a bridge, coming toward a semi-truck; he drove the car out of the truck but crashed near the bridge rail. Gwen got out of the car, but Phil grabbed her ankle, making her drop the Null Void projector.
"I just had you, your grandpa, and that freak of a kid," said Phil.
Before he could do anything, Big Chill came and froze Phil's right hand to the wrecked car door. With Max right behind in the Rustbucket.
"It's over, Phil," said Big Chill.
"Wait, Lincoln, I know about the Omnitrix; join me and make our own Plumber," said Phil, who was desperate at this point.
"Let me think about it. Um, no," said Big Chill.
Phil saw the Null Void projector and grabbed it. Gwen saw the car's side view mirror next to her feet. When Phil fired the Null Void projector, trying to suck Lincoln up, Gwen used the mirror to bounce off of it, and it sucked Phil instead.
An hour later, the three sucked up the alien back into Null Void and put the device back into the room in Mount Rushmore.
"You know, Phil was right about one thing," said Max.
"What's that, Mr. Tennyson?" said Lincoln.
"That you two would make fine plumbers."
"And what about Phil?" said Gwen.
"I think it's best we just forget about my old partner."
The three walked out of the room with the Null Void projector floating and hopefully never to be used again.
