Chapter 2: Merry Christmas
The Next Day
It was December 25th, Christmas morning.
Everyone woke up in joyous spirits. Children woke up and eagerly ran to the Christmas tree to open presents and parents were coming to film their happy reactions and spend the day together as a family.
Including one household, which was important for a reason.
Star had woken up early and she and her father (who came home late last night), were gathered in the living room and seeing what's under their tree.
The Strong living room was decorated beautifully with many decorations and lights, and there were several dozen presents under the Christmas tree...most of which were meant for a certain special member of the family.
"Merry Christmas, Princess..."Johnathan said as his daughter beamed with joy.
Star looked at the many presents. Given her family's privilege lifestyle, she was used to getting lots of presents since she was a kid. However, she was more happy for the fact that her father was here with her to personally hand her the gift.
"Can't wait to see what it is..."Star said as she took it.
She opened it up and smile when she saw what her father had given her a very beautiful locket with a pink gem stone.
"Dad, it's beautiful..."Star gasped in joy as she tried it on.
"I knew that you'd love it. I even had it engraved..."Johnathan said as he even pointed at it.
Star looked and smiled when she saw that her initials were truly engraved on it.
"Thanks, Dad!..."Star said as she hugged him and even kissed him on the cheek in gratitude.
Johnathan smiled and hugged her back.
Star then grabbed another present, one that she bought.
"Here is my present, Dad..."Star said, handing it to him.
"Let's see what it is..." He said before opening it and smiling. "Those sunglasses I wanted?..."He asked, and then noticed something else.
He gasped when he saw what it was.
"An autograph picture from the cast of Billington Island?!..."He exclaimed, and his daughter nodded.
"And now you know why I offered to wash your car on the weekends for the extra cash..." Star said, since even with her allowance, the bidding for that picture was pretty pricey but she really wanted to get it for her father.
"Thanks, Princess. I love it and this is gonna have a special place in my collection..."He said, since he did collect memorabilia from the show as a hobby.
"I'm happy that you like it..."Star said.
"Like it? I love it..."He said, meaning. "Thanks, my little shooting Star. This really is amazing..."He said, making his daughter smile at that.
The father and daughter shared a hug and then took some pictures to commemorate the occasion.
"This is wonderful, even if it's just the two of us..." Johnathan said, since a certain other member of their household was celebrating the Holiday elsewhere.
"I hope that Georgia is enjoying her gift too..."Star said.
"No worries, Princess. That all expenses paid trip we both agreed to help her get should be enjoyable enough..."Johnathan said, smiling.
Meanwhile
In Cancun
In a luxury hotel, Georgia, who was no longer in her maid outfit and was now wearing a modest swim-suit, was enjoying a nice pineapple juice as she lounged by a beautiful pool and enjoyed the tropical weather.
"This is the life..."She said with a relaxed sigh as she sipped the last of her beverage.
"Would you like another pineapple juice, ma'am?..."One of the servers offered her.
Georgia smiled.
"Yes, thank you..."The maid said as she took one and began to sip it.
As she relaxed, she smiled as she still couldn't believe that she was here.
Her employer and his lovely daughter wanted to reward her for all her hard work and surprised her with an all expense paid vacation for Christmas, including flight, hotel and for 4 days and 3 nights in beautiful Cancun.
"Mr. Strong and Star really deserve our thanks..."She said, still thrilled that they paid for her vacation.
"Georgia, come on in The water is perfect..."Frank said as he swam in the pool.
Georgia smiled.
Her boss was kind enough to say that she could invite a friend and she chose Frank, for a good reason.
"In a minute..."She said, not wanting to move from the chair just yet.
"You sure?..."He asked.
"Indeed. I just want to enjoy the beautiful weather for a moment..."Georgia said as she wanted to keep sunbathing a little while longer.
Frank went back to swimming and Georgia continued to sun bath with a relaxed smile on her face.
The maid let out a breath as she enjoyed the first day of her Holiday vacation in the lap of luxury, something she deserved after all the year long craziness in Amity Park.
"I hope Star and Mr. Strong are having as much fun as we are..."She thought, as she took another sip of her pineapple juice.
Back with Star
Star and her father continued to open the other presents, which were either sent by friends or other relatives.
More than half of the presents Star had received were from her mother, all of which were either expensive jewelry, clothes and other brand items.
"Another diamond necklace?..."Johnathan said with a sigh as he figured as much.
"I know Mom wanted to look nice, but why do I feel like she is trying to buy my love right now?..."She asked, as she looked at the necklace.
"Because she is..."Johnathan said, knowing his ex well.
"Come on, Dad. She's at least trying, and you two promised to behave..."Star reminded.
"Okay... I promise..."Johnathan said, as his daughter kept opening the rest of the presents that she had gotten from her mother.
"I do hope that Mom likes the gift I sent her..."Star said, as she wondered how she was.
"I'm sure that she loves it, Princess..."Johnathan said, as they continued to unwrap presents together.
Meanwhile
At Polter Heights
The Bevier clan were celebrating Christmas as well.
The penthouse was decorated with the most expensive decorations and the largest tree that they could find. All of which made the inside of the living room as bright as the sun.
"Merry Christmas, Mon petit angel..."Jean Luc said as he and his wife presented about 3 dozen presents to Colette.
"I thank you, Father..." She said before she frowned slightly. "Only 3 dozen?!..."She asked in a complaining tone, while her parents cringed.
"We had a few... issues this year. This is the best we could get right now..." Stella said, while her step-daughter, who was used to much more gifts than this, frowned.
"Zhat is no excuse. This is lss than what I got last year!..."Colette complained. "If you guys are going to cut down on gifts, zhen ze least you could do is unban Danny today and invite him over for me!..."She said as she stomped her foot childishly.
"I would sooner allow rabid wolves into the building!..."Her father said, which caused his daughter to pout hard.
"Settle down, you two. It's Christmas and it's suppose to be a happy time..."Stella said.
"Then Papa should do the one thing that would make me VERY happy..."Her stepdaughter said, deciding to open a box to cheer herself up.
Colette examined her 9th gift, A pink beret, not like Tucker's but French. It also had her name stitched in it in gold, in cursive as well.
"How unimpressive, the last one was encrusted with diamonds..."Colette said, tossing it aside.
Stella saw this and sighed as she felt a migraine form.
"What is gotten into her since we moved here?..."She thought as she then turned to her baby boy.
He barely seemed to be interested in the many presents his father or other relatives had sent him. However, he was fair more interested in the presents that Star had sent him, which had been delivered this morning or the toy rocket that Danny had sent him as well.
"Star...Star...Da-nny..."Pierre said happily as he played with these toys, and ignored the others.
"Amazing, it's almost like he could tell just who sent these gifts. I see that my little guy is getting smarter every day..."Stella thought as she gushed at her child.
Her husband, however, scowled at the sight, wanting to get rid of it but knowing his wife would not allow him. So, he settled for focusing on celebrating Christmas with his wife and children.
"Here you go, Mon Cheri..."Jean Luc said as he handed her an elegantly wrapped present.
"Thank you, Dear..."Stella said as she unwrapped it and saw that it was a new fur coat, one looking like a bear.
"I spared no expense of this quality bear coat, it cost $2,500..."Jean Luc said with pride.
"Thank you, Dear..."Stella said as she tried it on.
She then presented his gift, one she chose herself.
Jean Luc saw that it was a fancy diamond watch, with his initials on it. He took out his other watch, one likely worth a house, and tossed it aside to put his new one on. He also examined it with a critical eye.
"Hmm...48 karat gold and diamond jeweled...ideal..."He said, pleased.
Stella nodded and was about to get breakfast until she saw one present that was addressed for her, which is from Star.
"Star sent me a gift. How nice..."Stella said as she lifted it.
Once she unwrapped it, she saw that it was a simple knitted gray beanie, one that hat Stella's name sewed to the side of it. There was also a letter next to it.
"To Mom, I hope that you keep it safe, took a while to finish. Merry Christmas..."Stella read out loud as she held her gift.
Colette and Jean Luc saw it and scoffed.
"How pedestrian, though I am not surprised Estelle with her poor taste and choices in clothing..."Colette scoffed, looking down on the gift.
"Such a thing does not belong on your head, Mon Cheri..."Jean Luc said, unimpressed.
To his surprise, his wife's eyes were swelling with tears and her mascara began to run a bit as she held onto her gift and decided to put it on.
"Mon cheri?..."Jean Luc said, confused.
"I must destroy it..."Colette said but her stepmother snapped.
"Don't you dare, this is a lovely gift from your sister and it's priceless!. Plus, I don't have any beanies. So, do NOT even think of destroying it!..."Stella said, holding it the same way she would hold Pierre.
Her husband and step daughter, blinked, confused by her sudden behavior and words.
"Priceless? It looks like it costs like, what? $30..."Colette said, confused by her step-mother's words.
"It's priceless to me. That's final!..."Stella said as she kept it on.
Her husband and step-daughter were at a loss here. Seeing her with something so common was absurd. That's when Stella noticed something else.
"Huh...another gift from Danny?..."Stella asked in confusion.
Colette's eyes widen in excitement while Jean Luc frowned
"From Danny, is it for moi?..."Colette said as she tried to reach for it.
"Throw it out, we do not need any more of that middle class trash in this house!..."Jean Luc said.
His wife, however, looked stern.
"Colette, Jean Luc. Enough! Whether you like it or not but Danny is Star's boyfriend and anything he gives is welcomed..."Stella said. "Besides, it's a gift for me..."Stella said, wondering what he got her.
"YOU?!..." Colette questioned as Stella nodded.
She unwrapped the gift from Danny and saw for herself that it was a broach. It's not overly expensive looking and simple in design but it seemed a bit over Danny's usual price range, around $30 or so.
Her husband wasn't impressed in the slightest.
"That's it...I can smell the middle class trash. Throw it away!..."Jean Luc ordered.
To his surprise, his wife glared at him.
"I will do no such thing, Danny went out of his way to give me a present despite how we met. Plus, even if it's not expensive, I think it's lovely..."Stella said as she smiles at it, hoping to use it as soon as she can and to thank him when they cross paths.
"Please do not wear that around me..." Jean-Luc asked, while his wife just sent him an annoyed look.
"I will wear it when I feel like it..." Stella stated, while her husband grumbled something under his breath in his native language.
"Is there anything for me? Preferably, from Danny?..." Colette asked, sounding hopeful.
Stella looked around and shook her head. The rest of the presents were the one that she and Jean-Luc had gotten for their children and each other.
"I thin that's it..." Stella said.
Hearing that, Colette frowned as hard as possible and her faced turned red.
"Unbelievable, how could both you and Pierre get a gift from Danny but not MOI?! Zhis is so NOT fair!..."Colette shouted, throwing a tantrum.
"Colette, behave yourself right now..."Stella ordered as they began to argue.
"This town is full of freaks and crazies, my wife is going native in their fashion and my daughter yearns to make my grandchildren part commoner, and my son seems to be assimilating this town's middle class customs! I hate Amity Park with every fiber of my being!..."Jean Luc said in quiet anger as his wife and daughter stopped arguing and decided to go back to opening presents.
He still noticed that his wife and son both still seemed more invested in the gifts from Star and Danny, and basically ignored what they got them.
Back at the Strong residence
Star and her father were still enjoying their Christmas morning together.
Star was currently opening presents from her grandparents. Her maternal grandfather, Richard, sent her a lovely dress, among other presents.
"Grandpa really does know how to spoil a girl..."Star said, before turning to her next gift.
They were from her father's parents.
"Here Princess, it's from your Grandpa Kirk and Grandma Joy, the only grandma you have that's worth acknowledging..."Johnathan said as he handed it to her.
Star opened it and saw that it was a hand knitted scarf from her grandmother and a pink beanie from her grandfather. There was also a letter that came with it, from her grandpa.
"To our sweet little Star, grandpa and grandma's little angel. We both look forward to seeing the smile on your darling face. Merry Christmas. Love, Pop-Pop and Grandma..."The blonde girl read before smiling.
"Aw, Pop-Pop is a total softie and Grandma really can't help but enable him..."Star said as she put them on.
"Mom and Pop always do love to send you things..."Johnathan said as she wondered how much time they spent on their gifts.
"As she looked at herself in the mirror, a question came to her.
"What did Grandpa and Grandma sent you, Dad?..."Star asked.
Johnathan checked it and saw what he received.
"Mom sent me a hand-knitted sweater. And it's in my favorite color..."Johnathan said with a smile as he liked it.
He then saw what his father sent as well.
"Your grandfather sent me some cologne...and a hat with a visor...Dad really does put effort..."Johnathan said, slightly sarcastic. "Oh, well, I do need to use this to keep the sun out of my eyes when I go jogging with Solene..."He said as put them down.
He opened another gift, which is from Georgia. It was a gift card for the ramen place that was very popular and he smiled.
"Alright, free lunch for me..."He said, making plans to use it since he did like genuinely liked their California rolls.
"Danny got you a gift..." Star said, pointing at one box.
"Then let's see what it is..."Johnathan said as his daughter handed it to him.
Opening it, he smiled.
It was the bust of a lion's head, one that was elegantly sculpted too.
"Nice, this would look good in my office..."He said, liking it.
"I'm sure it does..." Star said.
"Huh? I don't see anything else from Danny here, Princess..."Johnathan said, scratching his head.
"No worries, Dad. Danny and I agreed that we would exchange presents in person and we'd do it alone. Plus, I really want to see the look on his face when he sees what I got him..."Star said, looking giddy.
"Whatever it is, just keep things PG. I don't want a grandchild for next Christmas..." Johnathan joked.
"DAD!..." Star went, blushing in embarrassment.
Johnathan laughed it off. However, after a moment, Star's displeasure faded as she laughed along as they continued to spend their Christmas morning together.
"I hope that Danny is having as nice of a time as we are..."Star thought, hoping that things were okay at his house right now.
1 hour later
After finishing up opening presents with her father and having a nice Christmas breakfast with him, Star left her house to go visit her boyfriend.
"This is our first Christmas together. I really hope that he likes the gift I got him..."Star thought as she carried an elegantly wrapped present in her arms.
She soon arrived to Danny's neighborhood, but the moment she did, she heard shouting coming from his house.
"He's not real! Just let it go!..."Maddie's voice was heard yelling.
"Shut up, what do you know!..."Jack shouted back.
Star stopped in place, shocked.
"No way..."She said, hoping that this isn't really happening.
Inside
It was Christmas morning in the Fenton household and it was chaotic like it always is.
Full of fighting and not with ghosts for once.
"I told you he didn't show up!..." Maddie said smugly.
"You lie! He did! See?!..." Jack said, motioning to the presents.
"Then how did he get past our security system?!..." Maddie questioned.
"He's Santa! He can do anything!..."Jack said, while his wife scoffed.
The two resumed their usual arguments as Jazz shook her head in disappointment.
"I'm guessing I'm never bringing my kids here for the holidays..." Jazz said.
"Same..."Was heard.
Jazz turned and noticed her brother, looking as miserable as ever while their parents didn't seem to notice. As they kept shouting at each other, Danny snuck to the door, but not before turning to the wanna-be psychologist.
"If they ask... I'm... kidnapped by a ghost or something..." He said to his sister, not really caring since he just wanted to get out of here.
"I'll cover for you..." She said, since she knew one of them had to stay here in case the house either catches on fire or the police need to be called in...again.
"Thanks..."Her brother said, meaning it.
With that, Danny went out the door. He took Star's gift with him. He spent all day yesterday and this morning protecting it from his family's usual craziness and miraculously, it was still in tact.
"Thank goodness, I almost wish a ghost did kidnap me..."He thought as he headed for the door.
However, just as he opened it, someone was about to knock on it.
It was Star.
The two teens saw each other and immediately felt happiness and relief.
"Finally!..."They both said and the two lovebirds hugged.
"Merry Christmas, Danny-Boo..."Star said happily.
"Merry Christmas, My Starlight..."Danny said, smiling.
The two shared a kiss and hugged. Once they pulled away, the ghost boy had the first real smile he had on his face all Christmas morning.
"This is what I waited all night for..."He said, still smiling.
"Me too..." Star said, as they closed the door and held hands on the steps, both looking at each other lovingly.
That's when they heard a window break and the sound of glass breaking. The ghost boy sighed, while his girlfriend seemed disturbed.
"Uh...let's go some place else. We can exchange presents there..."Danny said as they hurried
Star knew that Danny wanted to get away from his house right now and since this is her personal mission to make this the best Christmas ever for him, she followed without question.
"Smart idea..."She thought as they got away from Fenton Works, and his parents' war.
She then turned to her boyfriend, already having a plan to get him away from all of that.
"Okay, come on. We can go to the park. I know a spot with few people at this hour..."Star suggested.
"Okay..."Danny said, eager to get away from his house right now.
Star grabbed Danny by the hand and soon lead her boyfriend to a part of the park for their first Christmas together as a couple...and hopeful the first Christmas without trouble from his parents.
"Please let this work..."She thought as they got away from Danny's house, since it was clear that the ghost boy needed the peace.
Hopefully, this year...she can give him a truly happy holiday, one that makes up for his lousy ones.

REPLIES to my loyal and totally awesome reviewer:
Qazse: Yeah, you aren't right that Danny deserves a nice Christmas and that his parents did go too far in their fights.
RonaldM40196867:
1) It was pecan pie.
2) No, she is spending Christmas at home.
3) Sorry, no spoilers.
4) I'll think about it.
5) It's understandable that he doesn't like the Holiday, and I never liked that his parents never seemed to understand that what they their arguments were the cause of his children having a lousy Holiday.

Leonardo, Guest and Invader Johnny: I guess we will have to wait and see what happen.
