Chapter 4: Different Ways to Celebrate

Danny and Star soon left the park and were now in the middle of town. Star had a long day of Christmas traditions and other Holiday activities planned to cheer her boyfriend up and make him have a nice Holiday for once.

Star had brought Danny to a neighborhood for their first Christmas activity to do as a couple.

"Christmas caroling? People still do that?..." Danny asked with a smile.

"They do..." Star said. "And it's fun...me and my parents used to do it all the time back when-..."She paused, as she recalled the days before her parents split up and how things were different now.

"Star?..."Danny asked, but the blonde girl shook her head.

"It's fine, come on..."Star said as she took him by the hand and lead him to the front door.

"Know any good Christmas songs you wanna sing?..."She asked, since she wanted him to enjoy this.

Danny thought about it and shrugged.

"I'm good with anything, to be honest..."He said.

"So, Jingle bells?..."She suggested.

"Sure, why not?..."Danny said.

"Good..."Star said as she flashed him a pretty smile.

She then rang the door bell and soon the door was open to reveal a family of 4, all wearing Christmas sweaters and had happy smiles on their faces. That's their cue.

"Dashing through the snow In a one-horse open sleigh~..."Star began singing in a cheerful and upbeat way, and her boyfriend sang as well.

Danny was a bit hesitate at first, but they continued singing the carol, while the family listened and joined in, even singing along and suggested a few other Christmas songs that the young loving couple agreed to sing for them.

Once they were done, the family clapped their hands and applauded the two.

"Thank you..."The mother said kindly, clapping.

"How wonderful..."The man said, while the kids looked joyous.

"Merry Christmas..."Star said cheerfully, gesturing for Danny to say the same.

"Yeah...Merry Christmas..."Danny said as the family smiled.

The mother then got something for them.

"Here, its not much but we hope that you two kids will like our homemade candy canes..."She offered, with a warm smile on her face.

"Thank you and Merry Christmas..."Star said in a thankful tone, taking one of the kind offerings.

"Yeah, thanks..."Danny said, as he also took one, as the nice family waved them goodbye.

Once the door closed, the couple soon went back to the sidewalk and Star sent a beaming smile to Danny.

"See? That wasn't so bad, now was it?..."She asked.

Danny gave in.

"Okay, I see your point. That was alright..."He admitted, finding it to be a nice change of pace from what he usually experiences during this time of year.

"Glad to hear that..."Star said with a smile as they began to eat the candy canes together.

She looked at her boyfriend. He did have a genuine look on his face for a moment, until it soon faded a bit as he compares that happy and joyful family he sung too early with his own.

He sighed.

"At least nothing blew up and the parents weren't yelling at us...or the tree suddenly caught on fire..."He said, before looking and sounding glum again.

Star heard this and sighed.

"Well, this was the first step. I gotta keep trying..."She thought, before sporting a more determined smile, trying to keep the cheerful Christmas momentum going.

"Well, that was just our first house. Now hold on to your hat. We still got more houses to sing at and friends to see..."Star said, taking him by the arm.

"She's definitely up to something, but it's still Christmas and I still got to remain as jolly as possible until it's over. Plus I'm positive that whatever Star's up too, she's doing it out of the goodness of her heart. I gotta give it a shot for her..."He thought, as he decided to play along until sunset.

"Either way, this is still more fun than staying home..."Danny thought as she lead him to continue this Christmas quest of lightening him up.

Later

Danny and Star continued their Christmas caroling. They went to places like Valerie's apartment in Elmerton to both sing while her and her father listened, and then give Valerie the presents they got here.

"Here you go, Val. Merry Christmas!..."Star said in a perky way, as she and Danny handed the gifts.

"Ooh, can't wait to see what it is..."Val said as got her hands on it.

Valerie opened Star's gift first, admiring how nice it looked before she carefully unwrapped her Christmas gift. Once done, she saw that pricey looking pair of designer boots.

They were a pair of red leather stiletto ankle boots that she's had her eyes on for the last 6 months, but simply couldn't afford them with her new budget. The female huntress gasped and felt guilty about her own gift to her.

"Girl, this is awesome, don't get me wrong, it's REALLY awesome but you know that all I got you was that knitted sweater and white mittens, right?..."Val said, but her blonde friend waved it off.

"I loved them, and I wanted to get you this. Plus, it's a gift, so you have to accept it. It's the holiday tradition..."Star said in a joyous and playful "No take back" tone in her voice.

Valerie wanted to say otherwise but saw this coming from a mile away. She playfully rolled her eyes and smiled.

"Thanks, Star..."Val said as she hugged her best friend.

Danny saw this and smiled.

"At least she's having a happy Holiday today..."He thought.

He then handed his gift to Valerie, a pair of sunglasses and a simple necklace, which she thanked him and gave him a pair of black mittens in return. The ghost boy accepted them, appreciating the home made gift.

After some chatting and catching up after a while, along with some inside jokes that Valerie's Dad wasn't in on and enjoying some chocolate yule log, the couple soon left for their next destination.

A little later

Danny and Star soon arrived to Sam's house. Her family was in the middle of their Hanukkah celebration, but since Sam was their friend and admitted to loving Christmas, she was happy to listen to their carol and even join in.

"Nice..." Sam went.

"Thanks..."Star said. "Here's a gift for you..." She said, as she and Danny handed her presents.

"Thanks..." Sam said with a smile.

The goth girl soon unwrapped Danny's gift first and smiled when she saw that it was a new black jacket with bat-like patterns. She grinned widely at it.

"Thanks, Danny. This rocks..."Sam said, smiling as she hugged her best friend.

"Glad you like it..."Danny said, meaning it as he hugged her back.

Star smiled, knowing it was a platonic hug and was just grateful that her man wasn't gloomy right now.

Sam then opened Star's gift and saw that it was a black and purple, gothic choker with a spider web design and a purple gemstone on it.

"Wow! Awesome!..."Sam said, meaning it.

"Yeah, I saw it and it reminded me of you..."Star said, while the goth girl smiled.

"I love it, thanks. These gifts so beat the blinding bright colorful dress my parents got me..."Sam said, happy for these gifts.

She then handed her gifts to her friends.

"Merry Christmas..."Sam said as she gave Danny his gift first.

It was a jacket with the Nasa logo. The ghost boy smiled.

"Thanks, Sam..."He said, meaning it.

"Don't mention it..."Sam said, just happy to see him NOT acting like a grinch for once.

For Star, she gave her a pair of black knee-high boots with her flower type on them, which the blond girl was fond of.

"Thanks, Sam..."Danny said in an appreciative tone.

"Yeah, thanks..."Star said, liking her gift.

"Don't mention it, tis the season and you know the rest..."The goth girl said, smiling in a cheerful way.

"Why is seeing her so cheery still so weird?..."Star thought.

"Sammy-kins, come along. It's time for soy milk hot chocolate and after that, it's time to eat out Latkes and Sufganiyot before they get cold..."Her mother's voice could be heard on the inside.

"I gotta go. See ya, guys and Happy Holidays..."Sam said as she went to go rejoin her family's celebration.

Star had to let out a breath in relief after seeing her go.

"I don't think I'll ever get used to seeing her so chipper. She's like a completely different person...and she's somehow almost scarier like that..."Star said, still not used to her change in attitude.

"At least that kind of out of character attitude that I can get behind..."Danny said as they soon left.

"One more stop..." Star thought, as they continued walking.

At the Foleys

Star and Danny sang for Tucker and his parents and the family joined in for fun.

Once done, Tucker's parents applauded.

"Wonderful..."Maurice Foley said, still clapping.

"Thank you. Would you kids like some cookies? I just made some gingerbread men and sugared tree shapes..."Angela Foley offered.

"That would nice. Thank you, Mrs. Foley..."Star said in a cheery manner.

"Yeah, thanks..."Danny said as they were inside and getting some delicious treats.

After enjoying the cookies and some milk with ht, Danny and Star exchanged gifts with Tucker. Danny had gifted him a new video game and Star had gotten him something from the store, while the tech geek got them gift cards to his favorite electronics store.

"Thanks..." Star said, choosing to be polite.

Tucker smiled as Star handed him his gift bag. He opened it and saw something.

"Face cream?..."He questioned.

"Here you go, it's to treat that face..." Star said, gesturing to a still-visible injury he has on it.

"Thanks..." Tucker said, having been slapped by a girl the other day and clearly slapped again.

"Wow... good call..." Danny said with a smile.

"I just had a hunch that he'd need it..."Star said as Tucker left to go apply it on his face.

After all, he had planned to do some last minute flirting before sundown to use his mistletoe hat.

Later

After visiting their friends to both carol and deliver gifts, Danny and Star spent about half an hour more doing Christmas carols.

They visited Mr. Lancer's house and the teacher thanked them. They also went to see Eleanor, some of their classmates homes, acquaintances and Solene.

Once done, Star turned to her boyfriend and decided to see how her work affected him.

"So, what do you think? Feeling cheery?..."She asked in an eager manner.

"I'll admit, that went better than I expected, and at least there's no arguing over Santa..."Danny said.

Star smiled.

"Good, now come on. We got plenty more traditions to try before the day is done..."Star said as she pulled him along.

Where to, he didn't know, he just knew he was having fun with his one true love.

Later

After caroling, Star wanted to show Danny all the fun things that could be done on Christmas and before sundown.

She took him to a hill where they made snow angels and had a little snow ball fight. She also took him to the pond and they started to ice skate on the now frozen water.

He had never done this before, and found himself having some difficulty at first before getting the hang of it as he and Star skated together.

"Watch this, you'll love it!..." Star went as she did a figure eight.

"Nice..." Danny said.

"See? Now you try..."Star challenged.

Her boyfriend shook his head.

"No thanks, last time I tried something like that, I ended up skating into a snow bank. I'll stick with flying, thanks..." Danny said with a light smile.

Star pouted but then got an idea.

"Then let's try this..."She said as she grabbed him by the hand.

"Whoa!..."Danny said but soon found him and Star ice skating together, holding both hands and being close.

The ghost boy found himself smiling as they slowly but happily skated circles on the ice, neither letting go of the others hands the entire time.

Afterwards

After skating, Star took Danny to her place to continue their Christmas tradition of being together.

"So, what are we gonna do now?..."Danny asked, wondering what his girlfriend has in store.

"Clearly, no Christmas is complete without watching a Christmas movie!..."Star said in a giddy manner as she held him close.

"So, what are we watching?..."Danny asked.

"A Christmas Carol... at least one version of it... or It's A Wonderful Life..."Star said, as she gave him the option.

Danny looked at the selection of movies and just picked one.

"I guess we can watch the first option..."Danny said.

"A classic..."Star said, sitting down.

As she set the movie up, Star's father walked in, wearing the sweater that Georgia had knitted him and having a big smile on his face.

"You kids gonna watch something? I'll go put on some more cocoa and add marshmallows..."Johnathan said, reminding them that he is here and offered.

The couple sighed and knew that they would have to keep things PG right now and kept a few inches apart.

"Well, this isn't for making out...completely...this is to get Danny to enjoy the holidays..."Star thought as she nodded.

"Sure Dad..."She said.

"Oh, Danny. Thanks again for that lion gift. It really fits well in my study..."Johnathan said.

"I'm glad you liked it, Mr. Strong..."Danny said.

"I do, which reminds me..."The man said before he pulled out a gift.

"Merry Christmas..."He said.

Danny seemed surprised and took it. Star also seemed surprised, but then realized that she shouldn't be.

"Then again, Danny did get him a present for his birthday. I guess he wanted to return the favor..."Star thought as Danny unwrapped the present.

He saw that it was a red scarf with a comet pattern on it.

"Thank you, Mr. Strong..."Danny said, meaning it.

"Don't mention it, now you kids enjoy your movie. I'm gonna go step out, but don't get ideas..."Johnathan said as he chided playfully.

"DAD!..." Star went, blushing at what he just said.

"Kidding... mostly..." He said as he left.

Star sighed.

"Dad...he's such a...dad..."She said, still a little embarrassed.

"Let's uh...watch the movie..."Danny said, also blushing a bit.

"Right..."Star said, the blushing dying down from her cheeks.

As they watched the movie together, the two shared their hot cocoa with cookies. Danny had a notable smile on his face..

"So, how are you enjoying the move?..."Star asked, seeing him enjoying himself.

"I'll admit. It's kind of neat..."Danny said.

"And snacks?..."She said as she offered a plate of cookies to him.

"Cookies that don't come to life and try to kill you? Yes please..." Danny said, taking one.

"That happened?..."Star asked, surprised.

"Technically with the turkey..." He admitted.

Star looked confused and frowned.

"My parents tend to get REALLY careless during their arguments...and they aren't exactly alert..."He said.

Star heard this and cringed.

"Again, unless they clean up their act, we are SO not spending Christmas at his parents house ever!..."Star thought, as she then just decided to say nothing.

"So anyway-..." She started, but was soon cut off.

There was a ring coming from the door and Star got up.

"I'll get it..."Star said,

"You want me to pause the movie?..."Danny asked.

"No need, I've already seen this one and it's for you..."Star said as she went to the door to answer.

She saw that it was her mother, Stella who was wearing an expensive looking parka, as well as the knitted beanie that Star had given her, she was also carrying Pierre, who was dressed in a cute little snow suit.

"Oh, Hi Mom. Hi, Pierre..."Star said.

"Merry Christmas, my beautiful Star. I came for you..."Stella said as she pulled her into a big hug.

"Star! Star!..."Pierre said happily as he reached out to her.

"Hi, little guy..."Star said as she took her baby brother in her arms and kissed him on the forehead, making him giggle.

As she handed Star her gift, she noticed Danny.

"Danny! Thank you for the gift..."The woman said in an appreciative tone.

"No problem..."Danny said, happy she liked it.

"Dan-ny!..."Pierre said with a giggle.

"Merry Christmas, Pierre..."Danny said as he patted him on the head, making the little baby giggle.

"Speaking of gifts...Here... I have one for you..." Stella said, handing a box to him. "It's a $500 sweater..."She said in a proud way, surprising the ghost boy.

"Thanks..." He said, knowing that it's rude not to accept a gift.

Star then noticed something.

"You came alone... right?..." Star asked, not wanting to deal with her step-family right now.

"Indeed, Jean-Luc is in a video call with his parents, and I couldn't bring Colette, she refused anyway..." Stella said, knowing her step-daughter didn't want to visit Star.

Elsewhere

After spending about 10 minutes video chatting with her grandparents with her father, Colette, dressed in her very expensive looking winter parka (which was also one of her many presents), was now trying to enjoy her winter vacation.

She was now using the brand new designer ice skates that were one of her many Christmas presents. The spoiled girl was alone at the pond the couple was at earlier, having finished skating a heart with "D + C" in it. She smirked when she saw it.

"Parfait..."She said in French, before continuing moving onto the next activity.

"Time for a snow angel of pure grace..." Colette said after she finished ice skating.

She landed in the snow and began moving her arms and legs, imagining what beautiful imagery she's making that she hopes Danny will join in seeing someday. Getting up, her smile was replaced with a look of confusion as her angel was the shape of her with horns and a pitchfork.

"Why does that always happen?!..." She asked, looking confused and frustrated.

She received no answer, and only was met with some snow landing on her from a nearby tree branch.

"MY NEW PARKA! AH!..."Colette screamed, causing more snow to fall on top of her as a result, burying her neck deep.

Almost as if on cue, the "heart" that she made on the lake then cracked, and the "D + C" were lost in the broken up ice that sank to the bottom.

Later

At the Strong residence

After talking and spending time with Star's parents, the blonde girl decided now was the time to exchange gifts. The blonde girl, however, wanted to do it some place a little more private.

"Come on..." She said, taking Danny to her room.

Once there, they were ready t exchange their gifts.

"Merry Christmas!..." They said in unison.

They both opened their presents at the same time, tearing through the wrapping paper and as soon as they both laid eyes on their presents, they smiled.

"A red painter's beret? How thoughtful!..." Star said, loving it and admiring how it looked on her as she checked in the mirror.

She wasn't the only one pleased with her gift, as her boyfriend was admiring his own present.

"A near accurate replica of Armstrong's helmet? Nice..." Danny said, looking excited.

"I knew you'd love it..." Star said, hugging him. "Merry Christmas, Danny-Boo..."She said.

"Merry Christmas, Starlight. I love this, but no where near as much as I love you..."The ghost boy said, meaning it.

The couple shared a kiss, both happy with their presents and just as much in love with each other as ever.

"This so beats what Colette tried to send me this morning, by a long shot..."Danny said, while his girlfriend frowned at the mention of her step-sister's name and what she has been up to.

"Why am I not surprised that she'd send you a present?..."She muttered, knowing that brat just doesn't know when to quit.

"A present?! I got a huge pile of gifts by the DOZENS?!..."He exclaimed.

"What? You serious?!..."Star asked, and he nodded.

"Yeah. At first I thought some charity group must have sent them to the wrong address but they all were addressed to me, from her..."Danny said, irritated.

"For real? How many did she sent?!..."Star asked, annoyed and angry now.

"No clue, I didn't bother counting. I just told the delivery guy to return it to the sender. Unfortunately, Colette apparently ordered them NOT to after she paid him off..."Danny said, recalling the nightmare he dealt with this morning before Star showed up.

"That brat. She really can't accept you rejecting her..."Star muttered.

"So, what did she sent you?..."She asked, wanting to know how to punish her later.

"No clue, I didn't bother touching them. I'm actually frightened of what she might have gotten me, so I didn't open them at all. There still at home. Any of those presents that don't end up destroyed by my folks stupid fight, I'm donating to the homeless shelter...Danny said, since he didn't want them.

Star heard this and nodded.

"Probably for the best. If Colette refuses to have them returned to her, at least you'll be rid of them one way or the other..."She said, figuring they could use her attempts at trying to buy Danny's love to some use.

The couple didn't want to talk anymore about Star's obnoxious step-sister and chose to change the subject. They went back to talking about their Holiday and what else to do now.

"Now what?..."Danny asked, wondering what else his beloved girlfriend has in store for them.

His girlfriend, however, had something else planned for him and decided that now is the best time, while her parents aren't here.

"I have one more tradition in mind for now, but first, I'm going to need you to step out..."Star said, giggling over what she plans to do.

"Okay..."Danny said, obeying her and stepping out.

After 5 minutes, Danny was curious.

"I wonder what she's up to now..."He thought, before he heard her giggle.

"Star?..."He asked.

"Come right in, Boo?..."Star's melodious voice was heard on the other side.

Danny walked inside, but didn't see her yet.

"Star?..."He asked.

"I'm in the walk in closet. Just a second. Just wait right there..."Star said, still giggling. "I have one more surprise for you, Danny-Boo..."Star said as she continued giggling.

"Star, the gift was great and everything we did today is more than enough..."Danny said, but his girlfriend insisted.

"Oh, believe me, Boo...You're gonna love what you see..."Star's voice said as she giggled mischievously, making Danny wonder.

After another minute, Star soon appeared, wearing a cute looking female Santa dress that hugged her figure. She even wore the matching hat to boot.

Danny's jaw dropped and his eyes practically bulged out at seeing his gorgeous girlfriend in such a beautiful, festive outfit.

"Wow!..."He said, feeling his face turn red as a tomato as his attention was locked on her and nothing else.

His mind was utterly mesmerized at seeing her like this, unable to look away.

Star saw his reaction and giggled.

"Knew it!..."She thought as she pulled out the finishing touch.

Mistletoe.

"Here's a tradition I know you'll love..." Star said, as she got closer to the half ghost hero.

Danny was still frozen in place, still registering her appearance and coquette attitude. It took him a while until he was able to form words again and notice what she had in her hands, since his eyes were far too busy staring at everything else about his girlfriend's latest attire.

"Wait... isn't that-..."Danny was cut off as he felt lips on his.

Star placed the mistletoe over his head and planted a smooch on her blushing boyfriend. Once she pulled away, she sent him a coy smile and looked at his current expression. Star even found it hilariously cute, especially since the mistletoe was still in his hair right now, without him even noticing it at all.

The blonde girl just giggled and decided to continue with her flirtatious actions.

"Well?..."She asked, sending him a coquette look as he was finally able to form words.

"I think... I like it...I really, REALLY like it!..." Danny admitted as he kissed her back, having a brand new reason to love this holiday, especially since he was currently living a fantasy most guys tend to get during this time of year.

Once done, Star pulled away and giggled mischievously as she then sat down on a loveseat near her bed and sent her boyfriend an inviting stare.

"Now, tell me...have you been a good boy this year?..."She asked in a coy manner as she held the mistletoe over her head once again.

Danny soon rushed to her and looked half tempted to sit on her lap, but settled for picking her off the loveseat and have her sit on his lap instead. Soon, they began making out and started exchanging Christmas kisses that didn't look like they would stop anytime soon.

Later

After about an hour of nonstop making out and clever uses of the mistletoe, the couple was losing their breath.

Danny was panting heavily, and so was Star who had her lipstick smeared and her hair messy but neither cared. They were both feeling love and hormones right now, still cuddling within each other's arms in a loving embrace.

"Okay, this is OFFICIALLY the best Christmas ever. No questions about it!..."Danny said with a large grin, while his girlfriend planted more kisses on his cheek in between her breaths.

"Still too early to call it that, but I'm glad that you liked my little surprise..."Star said with a giggle as she began to fix her hair.

"I loved it. No doubt about it. Is there any chance that I might see you in that outfit again during our next Christmas together?..."Danny said, hoping that her answer might be a yes.

His blonde girlfriend giggled and gave him a cutesy look.

"Hmmm...maybe if you're a good boy, I MIGHT consider it..."She said in a playful way.

Danny heard this and half expected it, and accepted it.

"Fair enough. Now I have something to look forward too..."He said with a chuckle.

"Oh, Boo..."Star said, before kissing him once more.

After taking a moment to regain their breaths, the couple were now ready to continue where they left off from.

"So, ready for round...uh...which is it?..."Star asked, having lost track due to all the lip-locking they have been doing.

"No clue, I stopped counting after ten..."Danny said, still grinning.

His girlfriend thought about it and shrugged.

"Oh, who cares? Hurry before my dad comes back and wonders where we are..."Star said as she held the mistletoe on top of his head and soon then went back at it, not wanting this private Christmas treat to be over just yet.

After a solid 10 more minutes, Danny and Star separated and returned to the living room, but not before Star changed back to her previous outfit and both double checked themselves and each other that there was no evidence of their private event of Christmas themed tonsil hockey.

And not a moment too soon, as Star's dad to return with Solene and both were looking rather joyful from having their own couple's Christmas date, and seemed unaware of what the teens had been up to.

The teenage couple acted innocent, but it was hard to hide the big grins on their faces as continued to watch another Christmas themed movie.

Later

After another moving and sneaking a few more kisses when from Star's father and Solene weren't looking, the couple saw that it was almost 4PM and they were ready to go.

"Ready to see Danielle?..."Star asked, looking forward to seeing her friend again.

"Yeah. We might as well say hi to everyone at the party on the way. That's where Frostbite said that he'd give us the map..." Danny said.

"Party? You mean that ghostly Christmas party?..."She asked.

"You'll see. Come on..."Danny said as he changed forms and soon took Star bridal style.

He soon took off, carrying his one true love and they flew towards a natural ghost portal that frostbite had told them about ahead of time. They made it to the natural portal and soon went to the ghost zone, for both the Infi-map and the annual Christmas party.

A party that the blonde girl was very wary about going to with her boyfriend. No matter what happens, she just hoped that it'd be a very brief visit there and that the ghosts really did respect the truce.

Here are my responses to your questions:

1) I'm sure that it would be interesting, though only if Danny was an adult.

2) I am tied between Danny and Tucker, since they showed legit interest in her during the series.

3) I do like the loyalty and trust that Danny and Sam have for each other, though I don't see them working out long term. I prefer them as friends.

4) Pretty much everything she did in "Secret Weapon", from acting so careless with her ghost hunting, not listening to Danny and then trying to face VLAD all by herself.

5) I like the one with the DP guitar.

Luiz4200: Sorry, no spoilers. We will have to wait and see what happens.

Guest: Maybe, but she does claim that she loves Christmas, despite not celebrating it.

PINK-samiam: Yeah.

Danifan3000:

1) I see.

2) Danny and Star did went to his place to sing Christmas carols for a bit.
