Chapter 11

After a week of talks and negotiations with the rest of the staff, Albus and Fawkes departed to the new world where Harry would be. When they arrived, Albus immediately noticed that they appeared in a forest and it was by a fairly large town. He was thankful that he transfigured his clothes into a tan muggle suit with a blue polka dot bow tie beforehand and made sure that the luggage he brought had extra ones that were not transfigured but tailored in the muggle world so that he wouldn't have to worry about the spell failing at a critical moment. He looked at Fawkes and nodded gently at him before saying, "We will meet here in a week." He gasped gently as his friend was suddenly was engulfed in flames but as he watched, a bright glow illuminated Fawkes' entire being before fading away revealing a whole new look.

His height changed to where he was almost Albus' height, instead of red feathers across his body he had a golden plumage, fire was flowing from the crest of his head, his tail was made of fire, the length of his wings on the tips were fire as well, he had a long and thin neck, a long pointed brownish orange beak, triangle shaped violet colored eyes, thin brownish/orange legs and feet with three forward facing toes and one back facing one all tipped with sharp talons. Fawkes chirped at Albus gently as he nudged him to his friend to stop gawking at him like a complete idiot.

"Ahem," Albus cleared his throat before pulling himself together. "I suppose this form is to help you blend in better in this world correct?"

Fawkes both shook and nodded his head getting a confused look from Albus.

"So it did help blend you in yet it didn't?" Albus looked at his friend before sighing. "I won't pry right now. You just go on and do what you need to and I'll do what I need to okay?"

Fawkes nodded before taking off of the ground sending little pieces of ember to the ground as he flapped but Albus caught a still burning feather that was falling towards him before tucking it into a little glass bottle that was in his inner pocket. He then picked up his luggage and started walking towards the town calmly. As he walked, Albus took notice of the creatures that were all around him and silently observed how different they all were compared to his home world creatures. Soon, he arrived at the town only to be confused to where to go to research about this world and its creatures as he was unfamiliar with the layout of the area so he walked around the streets looking at the buildings and the signs until he found one that showed some books in the windows. Albus entered the building through the sliding doors and walked up to a young girl behind what looked like a reception desk typing away at a computer. The girl had short brown hair, pale skin, yellow colored eyes, and had a uniform on that had a name tag on the front left pocket. "Excuse me?" Albus asked once he got up to the desk.

"Yes sir?" The girl said cheerily as she smiled at him. "May I help you?"

"Yes. I am fairly new here and sadly have some memory problems. May I ask what town I am in and if this is a library?"

The girl giggled a little behind her hand before saying, "This isn't exactly a library but it does carry books and general things for researchers to take a look at. You are currently on Cinnabar Island in the region of Kanto."

"Ah yes," Albus said smiling. "Thank you very much. May I inquire to where the books are?"

The girl nodded and pointed to the right. "If you go down the hall here and to the left at the end of the hall, there's a room that holds the books. It isn't used often so it might be a bit dusty."

Albus thanked the girl and followed the girls directions to the door that was said to hold the books. As he entered the room and turned on the lights, he immediately noticed all the dust that coated the books, shelves, countertops, chairs, and tables so he reached into his pocket and took out his wand, waving it lightly around the room making the dust lift off the items and gently float in the air to a garbage can that was also in the room. Albus then went over to the books and started searching for information about the world he was in and the creatures that inhabited it but after only searching a tiny bit, he found a book called, 'The World We Live In and The Pokémon We Love'. He pulled it off the shelf and sat at a table opening it up and started to read the book from start to finish.

Before he knew it, a knock sounded at the door making Albus look up from the book he was close to finishing and noticed the girl from the front desk standing at the doorway. "I'm sorry to bother you sir," she said smiling kindly. "But we are due to close in 10 minutes."

"Ah yes," Albus said as he got up from his seat. "Thank you for letting me know. I do apologize as I seemed to have gotten immersed in my reading."

"It is perfectly fine." The girl said. "Feel free to take the book with you."

"Are you sure?" Albus asked as he went out the door with the book in hand.

"Positive." The girl said closing the door behind him and walking beside him as the headed to the front doors. "That book is in most places and nobody really reads it much after school years are over and kids start their journey. It's easily replaceable and a common book to be sold at professor labs around the Kanto region."

"Then thank you very much then miss." Albus said as they exited the front doors showing that sunset was in motion. "By any chance," he said turning to the girl as she closed the doors to lock them. "Do you know where the closest hotel might be? I don't think camping is in my old bones anymore."

The girl chuckled gently. "It isn't a problem sir." She pointed towards the road across from her shop that had some buildings. "Conveniently, the hotels are right across from my store. They were put in when tourists used to be abundant but now it's mainly a place for adventuring trainers to put their feet up and take some relaxing time off from their journeys to become the next Pokémon Master or even a gym leader. If you go there, I am sure that they will have a room for you as soon as you ask."

"Thank you once again." Albus smiled before going over to the hotel buildings. As he walked over, he noticed that the buildings had no visible signs showing that the buildings were hotels and wondered how people who travel across the region recognize where to stay. Albus walked into the designated building and walked to an elderly man with black hair that was slightly grey, tan skin, brown eyes, had casual yellow shirt on, and that was standing behind a lobby desk. "Excuse me," Albus said to the elderly man.

"Yes sir?" The man answered, his voice slightly raspy. "May I help you?"

"I was wondering if I would be able to stay here for a couple of days?"

"Of course sir. Do you have some identification with you?"

"Unfortunately I do not as I am mostly a nomad and did not think I would need one but my joints are getting worse lately and I may need to see into getting some later."

The man nodded. "That is perfectly alright sir. We have had a lot of weary travelers stay even if they lost or did not acquire identification. All we would ask for is proper payment."

Albus dug in his pocket pulling out a single gold coin. "This usually covers everything for a couple days if that is alright with you?" He handed the coin over to the lobbyist who looked a bit shocked to see some gold.

"I will need to get this verified by a specialist but this should cover whatever you need for a few days." The man said accepting the coin.

"I collect these types of coins on my travels and use them only when necessary. I may need to trade them in for actual currency though as my travels start to take hold of my body."

The elderly man nodded. "That would probably be a good idea to try and do as soon as possible. Most criminal organizations would try and come after you if you carry more of these coins on you."

"That is the last one I have as I have not tried to look for coins for a few years."

The elderly man turned and opened a drawer, taking out a key with a number attached to it. "Floor 74 room 4 is where you will stay. I will get this coin appraised and let you know how long you can stay depending on the value. Gold is rare around here so I imagine I'll get a good estimate." He handed the key over to Albus and put a clipboard on the counter in front of Albus. "If you can just print and sign your name for the record of you being here by cash that would be great."

Albus did as asked and smiled kindly at the man when he was done. "Thank you for your hospitality."

"Not a problem sir. If you just go to the elevator to the far left here, you will be able to reach your room." The elderly man looked at the clipboard. "Breakfast is from 6 to 9 in the morning and is free. Any room service you need just call us on the telephone in the room and menu's for meals are next to the phone."

Albus nodded and left the counter, walking to the elevator and pressing the call button then waiting the short time it took for it to finally arrive. As he entered the glass elevator, he pressed his floor number and watched the outside world as he was sent upwards. It was almost exactly how the muggles did things on his home world and Albus was amazed at how the creatures in this world coexist with the humans without any sense of distrust but he wished things were the same in his own world regarding the blood status many hold onto and, in consequence, isolate and ostracize those that are half-blood or muggleborn.

The elevator stopped, and Albus shook himself to rid of the unpleasant thoughts that tried to go through his mind before the doors opened and he stepped of into a hallway. There was a room directory sign in front of him and according to it, his room would down the right hallway and he walked down the long hall noting that each door were farther apart than a normal hotels occupied rooms would be and once he found his own door to room 4, he entered and got entranced immediately at the light cream colored spacious room. The room was illuminated by soft white lights that gave the room a daytime feel to it, there was a king sized bed by the far wall with silken white sheets and 4 fluffy pillows, two end tables with lamps were on either side on the bed though one had a telephone on it as well, a huge flatscreen television on the wall directly across the bed with a wooden dresser under it and a remote and guide on top, the windows were huge and overlooked basically the whole city though it was near dark so he couldn't see the whole area that well, and a desk was near a door in the back of the room had a desk lamp and a notepad along with a coffee maker at the end. Albus walked to the door by the desk and was greeted by an almost equally spacious bathroom with a tub, a walk in shower, fluffy towels by the sink and toilet, and the windows were covered by a cream colored shade to let you have privacy.

He closed the bathroom door and sat on the bed, letting himself relax for the first time in a long time as hope of finding Harry grew before deciding to get to bed to rest up before exploring more about this world tomorrow.

A couple days went by and a disguised Mewtwo had to shake his head at the grumpy aura Ash was emitting as the disguised Mew laid on his head, pikachu on his lap, and his mom fretting over him and his casted leg that was raised on pillows once she arrived at the hospital while the doctor was warning him on trying to use his leg any sooner than 6 months. He knew the break was serious enough to keep Ash off his journey for months but the complete childish way Ash was taking it was both amusing and annoying though, he mused, Ash was still a child so his attitude wasn't completely unwarranted. Brock and Misty unfortunately had to leave Ash after a day saying that they would be at their respective gyms until Ash was better and promised to visit as often as they could so that once he was able to go onto his journey again, they would all go together once more.

"Mom," Ash whined as soon as the doctor left as she started hovering over him again. "I'll be fine!" She stopped fretting and smiled lightly.

"I know sweetie." she said gently. "But it is hard to see you in a hospital after such a bad experience on your journey."

Ash smiled. "I know mom." He hugged her gently, being careful not to move his leg too much.

Mewtwo looked away from the scene and out the window of the hospital. He didn't understand the meaning of embracing another in such an open affectionate way, preferring to just say what he was feeling as showing feelings just seemed a bit too open and would make you look vulnerable. As he looked outside, he saw a flash of fire in the sky and watched as the Pokémon figure flew off into the distance but as it was far away, he couldn't get a good look at the Pokémon but he suspected it was just a fire type bird Pokémon that was on a journey. He put it out of his mind for the moment, and pondered on what he should do while Ash was recovering. He knew that he would be helping to train his Pokémon but he knew training constantly would be more of a boon than a help for those that were not use to it.

He realized just then that there wasn't much he knew outside of just necessities and didn't really know how to even relax or even a hobby. He knew humans liked journeying for badges, research, or just for the adventures but Pokémon either were in their own natural environment roaming around and interacting with their own species for survival, training with their trainers, or just helping out humans in their everyday lives. But he had no other species like him to interact with, his trainer is injured so cannot physically be trained for the time being, the most relaxing thing he did was letting out his own past to others and train his cloned Pokémon and now training Ash's Pokémon, and he really didn't know how to help out humans without completely misunderstanding how to do things. Trying to read up on the humans everyday tasks in a book while doing a quiz that was at the back of the book as he was building his fortress taught Mewtwo that he would most likely destroy a so called microwave than use it to heat things to eat so he went without human electric necessities for eating and cleaning.

'What is it with humans and freely showing emotions?' Mewtwo thought as he watched the world go by outside the window. 'There doesn't seem a point to show vulnerability if you are against an opponent so why show it where anyone can see?' He sighed heavily as he watched Pokémon and people alike just go about their lives in the city. He sometimes wished he could remember his old human life because then maybe he would be able to understand everyone a tiny bit more than he did currently but he knew only one Pokémon could go through time and Mewtwo would not search it out for something so trivial.

"Hey, Mewtwo!" Ash called making Mewtwo look at him as he sat in bed smiling at him. "Mom just had a great idea!"

"An idea?" He asked looking at Delia.

"I understand you have offered to help Ash train his Pokémon?"

"Correct." Mewtwo said.

"Well," she said. "As Ash heals up, you can continue to train them if you would like."

"I already planned on doing that Mrs. Ketchum."

"My idea is that I want you to continue helping Ash but also to learn from me as well."

Mewtwo blinked. "Learn from you?"

"Mmhmm." She smiled a bit more gently. "I don't need to be told that you don't exactly know how to do things in a normalized setting. I could immediately see the uncomfortableness that you had when you stayed with Professor Oak."

"Uncomfortableness?" He said back. "I am unsure of what I have is uncomfortableness exactly."

"You may not be aware of it completely." Delia said. "But I can and I would still like to help." Mewtwo looked at Ash and saw him gazing hopefully at his answer so he sighed and nodded making Delia clap her hands once in happiness. "Excellent! I'm going to get the doctor to give me an estimate of how long you'll be here." She turned and then walked out of the room.

"Thanks Mewtwo." Ash said making Mewtwo tilt his head in confusion.

"I do not think I did anything to warrant that sentiment." Mewtwo said.

"You may not think so but I know my mom and she seems to be really worried about you. It will just ease her mind to have her try and help you even if it's as simple as just teaching you to play chess or something."

Mewtwo shook his head to clear the confusion that was intruding on his emotions. "Take it as you will but I still do not exactly see how me agreeing to it warrants it."

"You will one day Mewtwo." Mew suddenly spoke up to everyone in the room making Mewtwo glance at her relaxed position on Ash's head. "It will take time and lots of patience but one day this will all make sense."

Suddenly, Delia came in with papers, a wheel chair, a huge smile before exclaiming, "You can come home now! Let's get you up and to the car!"

Everyone just sweat dropped at the amount of happiness she expelled through her words before she helped Ash into the wheelchair and rushed him out of the hospital almost knocking Pikachu and Mew off his shoulders. Mewtwo just walked calmly behind them before reaching the light blue convertible Delia was putting Ash into through the passenger side of the car. "I'm assuming this contraption is safe?" Mewtwo asked eyeing the car with pure skepticism.

Delia turned to him after everyone else was comfortably in the back seat. "Of course it is!" She said smiling. "Have you never been in a vehicle before?"

"No need to. A helicopter I have been in once, though I would not ride in one again, but a vehicle I have not tried." Mewtwo said.

"Well then," Delia went to the drivers side and got in. "I'll be sure to be extra safe for you then Mewtwo."

Mewtwo just sighed and awkwardly got into the front passenger seat, struggled a bit with the seat belt when Delia told him to put it on, and soon enough, they were on the road and zooming back towards Pallet Town.

Over the region of Kanto, Fawkes flew towards the one place he knew he had to go to confront the very beings he had hoped to avoid while here but unfortunately, as soon as he transformed into his original form which was called Moltres, he was called by the leader and that call was unfortunately the one that no one could ignore. He flew slowly and a few hours later, he saw three small islands that were connected to each other by a stone bridge that humans have built.

The tallest island was covered in snow and ice with a small shrine made of pure ice, the next biggest island was a volcano with stone and magma with a stone shrine, and the last was a grassy plateau on top of the mountain with a stone shrine in the middle of the plateau. He ignored the snow and grassy islands and headed to the lava one before landing and hesitatingly calling out to be let in the shrine. As the door opened, he knew immediately that he wasn't going in as a huge Moltres stood in the doorway, towering over him by 3 feet or so and slowly, he stepped backwards with a nervous expression on his bead as the bigger Moltres glared at him. "Uh," he said in his native language as the Moltres before him stepped out of the shrine. "Long time no see huh pa?"

The large Moltres growled, "Son, we need to talk." before taking his wing and slapping Fawkes into unconsciousness and Fawkes' last thought before everything went black was, 'I deserved that'.
