Chapter 12

Mewtwo was frozen in the passenger seat as the vehicle came to a sudden and abrupt stop in from of Ash's home. His eyes were wide, his pupils were small, he huffed heavily in his anxiety, and he was gripping onto the sides of the vehicle so tightly that the metal was actually groaning from the pressure. All while he was trying to recover from this, Delia was humming happily as she got Ash out of the backseat with Pikachu and Mew following close after. He then immediately hopped out of the vehicle and said, "Never again will I enter something that is as dangerous as this."

"I'm sorry Mewtwo," Delia said as Ash was floated into the home by Mew leaving the two outside the door. "I guess I haven't really got a hold of being slow on the roads." She giggled. "I used to be a racer and was at the top of most competitions before having Ash. I slowed down a bit after that but I still have the urge to get my rush when I sit behind the wheel of my car."

Mewtwo looked at her disbelievingly and said, "You realize that if I had not had complete control of my psychic powers, I could have accidentally hurt everyone to just make this contraption stop moving?"

Delia hummed in contemplation. "I suppose that could have happened but it didn't so we won't discuss what could have happened because it didn't happen."

Mewtwo just stared at Delia as she turned and entered the house before he just groaned in exasperation and followed through the doorway. As he entered, he saw that Ash was on the pullout couch with an undisguised Mew and Pikachu sitting on either side of him watching the television that currently showed a Pokémon battle on the screen. "Oh hey Mewtwo!" Ash said as Mew took the disguise off him as soon as he entered the home. "You doing alright?"

"I am a bit unnerved with your mothers driving abilities." He said after a moment of silence watching the battle that was taking place on the television. It was between a Blastoise and a Ninetales but Mewtwo could see that while the Blastoise had the advantage of water, the Ninetales had the most experience and its power was most likely above the Blastoise as it wasn't even showing any signs of fatigue. "The Ninetales will win this match." He said making Ash, Pikachu, and even Mew groan in annoyance at being spoiled on who would will the final match of the league.

"Why'd you have to go and do that Mewtwo?" Ash pouted as Blastoise fainted after a powerful flamethrower by the Ninetales hit directly with critical damage.

"Was it wrong to say my observations aloud?" He inquired, tilting his head in curiosity.

"YES!" They all shouted at him making Mewtwo blink in surprise.

"I do not understand." He said. "Are the battles not there to show how powerful the Pokémon are for the viewers to determine who is stronger?"

"No," Ash said. "The battles are just on tv for viewers entertainment and to show how strong the opponents are by their use of Pokémon moves against each other."

"If that is so," Mewtwo said looking at Ash directly with a hint of sarcasm clouding his tone. "Why do you battle so recklessly without thinking moves through?"

Ash stared blankly at Mewtwo for a while as a sweat drop appeared on his head. "Uh…"

"Mewtwo has a point Ash." Delia stated from behind an entryway next to the couch with a tray full of sandwiches and Poké food in her arms.

"Mom!" Ash exclaimed. "I battle my pokémon just fine!"

"You may have made it far with luck and some talent but you do not strategize with certain moves against certain types." Mewtwo said making Ash scowl. "Luck and talent isn't going to get you to be a Pokémon master unless you utilize strategic steps to ensure victory."

"You're one to talk." Ash grumbled before sighing. "Listen, I am not going to fight again about training as last time it got out of hand and I ended up with my leg being injured."

Mewtwo hummed in agreement as Delia set down the plate of food on the couch next to Ash before sitting down on the couch herself. "You know Ash," she said as she took the remote and lowered the television volume. "I can see your dedication to win any battle that is put in front of you and the amount of love you give each and every one of your Pokémon." She smiled at him gently. "I believe that this little setback with your leg will only lead you down a road where you can achieve anything that is in your way."

Ash looked at his mom with a smile before saying, "Thanks mom."

Mewtwo shook his head at the slight sentimental display. "I still do not understand you humans at all." He said gaining everyone's attention.

"What do you mean Mewtwo?" Delia asked. "I know you didn't experience good things with humans very much but Ash and the others didn't explain much as they didn't want to betray your trust."

Mewtwo blinked in slight surprise at the fact Ash kept his story from his own mother. "You didn't tell your mom?" He asked Ash.

"It wasn't my story to tell plus she doesn't really care about people's pasts enough to dig into it." Ash said.

"I like to have people come to me in their own time if something from their past comes up." Delia explained further. "Being patient and understanding comes best when one needs help or guidance."

Mewtwo nodded in understanding of her reasoning. "Logical." He said. "Humans are more complex than I originally understood. All these expressions and showing of emotions so openly."

Delia smiled at him before getting up and going over to Mewtwo. "You guys continue to watch the Pokémon matches." She said to Ash, Mew, and Pikachu. "I'm going to take Mewtwo and talk."

"Alright mom." Ash said with Mew and Pikachu chiming in unison with his answer.

Delia smiled before taking hold of Mewtwo's arm gently and leading him into the back yard and closing the door. Mewtwo temporarily shrugged of the casual way Delia led him out before bracing himself for the talk he was to have with her.

Fawkes woke up groggily and shook his head to clear up his head from the grogginess he felt. He looked around and noticed that he was on a rock surrounded by lava and in front of him was the large Moltres who had knocked him out. "Did you have to do the slap so hard it knocked me out father?" Fawkes asked in a bit of a huff.

"I did it to ensure that you wouldn't immediately flee." The father Moltres said.

"I wouldn't have run off so soon after the call father." Fawkes said.

Moltres glared at Fawkes. "It didn't stop you before you disappeared." He retorted.

Fawkes lowered his head. "I had a calling of importance somewhere else father." He said.

"No call is more important than that of mine." Moltres glared harder at his son. "I have tried several times to call you to take your place among the island leaders yet I received no answer."

"The powers that be called me to another world to help their own leader with a tragic destiny that is laid in the roots of their lives." Fawkes explained. "I know not of why it was me that they called upon but I readily accepted and took my place in their world as a symbol of light and justice."

Moltres looked at his son before sighing. "Your words speak truth." He shook his head. "Unfortunately for you though, I have no other sons to take my place upon this island and chaos could reign if you do not take your place before I pass from this world."

"I understand father but I feel that my time in that world isn't complete." Fawkes said.

"And if I should pass before that task of yours is complete?"

"I do not know what should happen then father." Fawkes admitted. "I feel this task of mine is for both our worlds sake and when that is done, my time to take your place shall come to be."

Moltres shook his head. "Very well son." He conceded. "Now tell me why you have come back and what this task is that you feel the need to complete."

Fawkes nodded and began the long story of the wizard world he had entered years ago.

….

Albus finished the book he was given at the desk in his temporary room and sighed heavily. The creatures in this world looked similar to the ones on his world but all had some type of powers to use unlike the ones back home. If Harry grew up in this world, he may not find going to another world that he was born in very exciting. There were so many amazing things in this world that were almost unbelievable that even Albus considered retiring to this world to just relax. He sighed as the thought of Harry traveling around with friends and battling with these Pokémon for fun and enjoyment being abruptly halted just to get an education and understanding for the magic he had inside of him.

The phone that was is the room startled him slightly out of his thoughts before he got up and went over to answer the phone. "Hello?" He asked.

"Good morning sir." The elderly gentleman's voice came through. "My boss is down here with the coin you provided. Would you be able to come down to talk?"

"Of course I would." Albus said as he quickly gathered his things with a wave of his wand and transfigured his clothes to be similar to his suit yesterday only this time his suit and pants were a dark blue and his bow tie was a light pink with little yellow music notes on it. "I'll be down shortly." He then hung up the phone. "I better change into one of the actual outfits I have later on today." He murmured before gathering his trunk and heading to the elevator after making sure that the door was locked. When the elevator arrived, he stepped on before hitting the level one button and leaning against the wall as he waited.

Albus was amazed that only a few people joined with how big the building was and only one of those people had a Pokémon that rode on their shoulder. The Pokémon was similar to a small monkey or lemur on his home world but instead of the standard brown, black, or white coloring this Pokémon had purple fur and a mohawk look on its head with beige fur on its belly, face, and inner ear, it had beige feet and a beige three fingered hand on the tip of its long purple tail, it had purple furred stabs for arms, it had a never ending grin and wide blue eyes. Albus was curious to see a Pokémon so close but kept his distance to blend in with this world and also not to offend the owner of the Pokémon. When the elevator finally reached the ground floor, Albus stepped off and immediately saw the elderly gentlemen waving at him over by the front desk.

"Hello there sir." Albus said smiling at him gently.

"Good morning. If you could follow me, my boss is just down the hall in his office." The elderly man then turned and went down a hall that was behind the desk and after a few minutes the man knocked at a oak door. "Sir, the patron you asked for is here."

"Let him in." a male voice came through from behind the door.

"Be respectful and polite." The elderly man said to Albus. "He is a firecracker but don't let him scare you." He chuckled before turning the knob and letting Albus into the room then closing the door as soon as he was fully into the room.

Albus looked behind him as the door shut before turning his attention to a slim figure that sat behind the desk. The man that was seated behind the wooden desk was a slightly elderly Caucasian man with a bald head, dark tinted round glasses, his mustache was slightly long and whisker like, he had a blue collared shirt on with a red shiny tie around his neck, a lab coat was hung behind him on his chair, and he had his hands resting on the desk by the coin Albus had given to the elderly receptionist. "Are you the man who gave my receptionist this coin?" The man asked Albus.

"Yes I am."Albus said.

"In all my years Mr..?"

"Albus Dumbledore."

"Mr. Dumbledore," the man leaned forward. "I never have seen a piece of gold so pure or as heavily priced as this one." He picked up the coin and held it between his thumb and forefinger. "This is almost worth my whole hotel and gym put together. May I ask where you got it?"

"I am a nomad and collected a few on my travels. I just mainly forget about what I pick up until I am in need for a place to stay as my age grows on my body." Albus said using a tiny bit of magic to make his words seem genuine. "I am also just trying to look for someone who is dear to me. So using what I have to find him is essential."

"Mr. Dumbledore," the man sat back in his chair. "My name is Professor Blaine. I have researched and have friends who research the whole planet we live on and nothing like this has ever been found however, I am not one to push another if they have secrets but I cannot take this coin as the number to convert it to would be astronomical and probably put the economy into a frenzy not to mention make people go after you just to get it for themselves."

Albus sat in the chair that was in front of the desk. "I understand. Would it be possible to melt it down and make it into a chain link? That way you can sell it a little at a time?"

Professor Blaine looked at Albus and sighed. "I could do that but the fact of the matter is that whoever you go to next with a similar coin could end up with you being traced by powerful people with bad intentions."

"What would you propose then Professor?" Albus asked.

"Just Blaine please." He leaned forward again. "I will give you some of what this coin is worth a little at a time but I know you must not have an account with any of our banks if you are nomadic." He opened a side drawer and took out a black shiny metal card before sliding it over to Albus. "This is one of our Pokébuck Cards and I will reload it every few years but you can either use it, give it to someone else, or leave it. Right now it has over four million Pokébucks on it and you can use it anywhere."

Albus took the card and and put it in his breast pocket. "Thank you very much for your understanding." He said to Blaine.

Blaine nodded. "Now you said that you were looking for someone?" He asked. "I may be able to help you if you can give a description of the person you are looking for." He took out a notebook and pen.

Albus smiled gratefully at Blaine before giving the description of Harry. Even though Albus hasn't seen the young boy in a long time, he knew that his eyes and hair would always stand out among crowds along with his scar. As Blaine wrote down the description of the boy Albus was looking for, his hand stilled at the last description of the lightning bolt scar and he slowly looked at Albus before asking, "A lightning bolt scar? Are you sure that is what the scar looked like?"

"Yes I am sure." Albus confirmed.

Blaine put down the pen and notebook carefully before sighing. "I know of whom you seek Albus but I don't know where he is at this point in time."

"How do you know him?" Albus asked in slight desperation. "Please, I need to find him!"

Blaine sank into the back in his chair as if a huge weight collapsed upon him. "We will need to go where no one can overhear us." Blaine said getting up motioning Albus to do the same. Albus slowly followed, a sense of dread and foreboding soon settling into his being as they walked deeper into the hotel office room.

…..

Mewtwo and Delia were seated by a tree and Mewtwo was just sitting on the grass nibbling on an apple that Delia had produced while his tail was curled around him. "Mewtwo," Delia said gently as the wind blew gently. "I can't describe humans to you but I can try to help you understand certain aspects of our life though."

Mewtwo glanced at her out of the corner of his eye but she was just gazing forward with a soft smile. "I am unsure of how to tell you without revealing my past to you." He said. "You would need to understand me in order for me to understand you."

Delia chuckled. "That may be but it doesn't always mean that is the case Mewtwo. Just ask your questions and if you feel that my answers are inadequate you can decide if you want to reveal your past to me or just figure it out on your own through time."

Mewtwo sat for a few more minutes in peaceful silence before he decided. "I will ask the questions for answers I seek." He said finishing the apple. "My first question would be why humans feel the need to show their emotions like they do."

Delia hummed for a second. "We are complex creatures to some. Emotions help show others when we are genuine. Happiness, sadness, anger, etcetera. It all shows within us because without emotions we would be pretty hopeless things. We create emotions to get through everyday life ever since we are born. Babies cry to show hunger, anger, needing a change or even loneliness but first time parents cant understand why they cry sometimes and it can be frustrating or confusing. Have you felt anger, loss, or happiness yourself Mewtwo?" She looked at him gently.

"When I saw my father die I was sad but I do not feel the need to mourn his loss though the others convinced me that it would be sentimental to keep calling him father. I felt slight discomfort when Mew said we were family and do not know what to make of it as I do not remember anything beyond the lab so being called a part of a family is….unfamiliar to me. When I first met you, a warm sensation happened but I was more cautious and hesitant and with Mew and Ash I felt frustration but Andre and frustration is a feeling which is normal with daily life for me. I just do not feel the need to become emotional like humans do."

Delia put her hand up to her lips and started to chuckle. "I say you are starting to understand more than you realize Mewtwo." She said after a few seconds. "You might not know it but you care for Ash and his friends a lot more than you probably realize. To bring him almost the whole way to the hospital to get help after finding him shows that you have kindness inside you. To travel with Mew and talk with her shows you want a familiarity with her and while right now it is more for just companionship and learning, along this journey you will have with the others, you might start understanding why she thinks of you as family."

Mewtwo nodded. "The next thing I do not understand is why Ash can forgive so easily. I have heard about his travels and the difficult stages in them but to forgive almost everyone during them is a difficult concept for me to grasp onto. I cannot ever forgive the man who betrayed me yet I allowed Ash to be driven to the hospital with him because Mew assured me he had no ill will but I would destroy that man if I had the chance to if I encountered him again."

"Ash is different than a lot of people that way. Ash's dad is never home and usually sends a card a year but while I get frustrated and annoyed, Ash never seemed to feel the same way. It just inspired him to go on his journey even more. He never held a grudge against his childhood friend Gary when he started making fun of Ash and he even started calling Gary his rival just to prove that he is just as good as Gary. He forgives a lot of people but he also tries to understand them though I think its because he doesn't want anybody to feel left behind like I felt when his father left. He takes others mistakes and uses the experience to change others around him to see things differently." She giggled even more. "You should have seen pikachu when they first started their journey. Pikachu shocked Ash every chance he got and even shocked a lot of people including me when they left the Professor's lab to start the journey. I was worried and concerned but not even a few days later I got a video call and they were almost as close as they are now. I don't know everything that happens in Ash's journey's but I get more mail from his friends and random strangers that want to thank him than I can count. He reads every single one once he is home for visiting before sending out his own letters or even video calling them. It's just Ash being Ash that way."

Mewtwo nodded. "I suppose it is." He agreed looking at Delia fully before looking up to the sky and watching the clouds. Suddenly, a headache erupted and Mewtwo grabbed his head as splitting pain rammed into it over and over making him collapse to the ground completely. As Delia ran inside to get Mew, a huge wind and storm started to gather around the town before a roar of pain echoed throughout the vicinity and rain started to fall, leaving the people in the town wondering what Pokémon could cause such phenomenon.
