I DO NOT OWN HARRY POTTER.
CHAPTER 14
Hermione was immensely greatful that she had been practicing her blocking skills before this moment.
The Carrows may be 2 absolute dunderheads, but they were certainly giving Hermione everything they had.
Their sweaty, brutish faces becoming redder and redder as Hermione flicked away their attacks, one by one.
"Give up already mudblood scum!" Spat one of the Carrows, grinning an ugly smile.
"It's 2 against 1 pretty, we are no match for you"
Their pathetic words boiled Hermione's blood. It wasn't like she was not fighting back, which she was. Hermione was merely biding her time, and energy.
However as for the 2 v 1 remark, that was a false statement. While she was defending herself, she couldn't help but notice a black shadow observing the doorway. It wouldn't be 2 against one for long.
A mere minute had passed before suddenly both of the twins were in body binds.
Hermione looked in the direction of the door to see the absolute darkness of the corridor.
Once she got to entrance she noticed a little note on the floor.
'Would of done more, summoned to the 'boat house'. S.'
Boat house.
Those two simple words made Hermione feel sick. She had to move fast.
A part of Hermione wished that she hadn't agreed to do this, as she hated reliving such realities of this battle.
The very event, the sole source of every nightmare that haunted her.
Hearing the screams of terror and fear as she weaved through the scenes, invisible to all, and it made her feel sick to her stomach.
But she had to be strong, she agreed to do this, and she bloody well knew she wasnt going to fail, or at least die trying.
Just as she started her decline towards the boat house, she heard the distinct voice of one Remus Lupin.
"DORA!"
She heard his cry, feeling guilt well up inside her, eating her from the inside out.
She couldn't.
She couldn't, could she?
Could she?
Before she knew what was happening, she quickly stunned the death eaters that were attacking Remus and Tonks. As soon as she was standing close enough to see, it was obvious that it was too late for Tonks. However clinging on to her lifeless body, was an incredibly weak Remus.
It hurt Hermione's heart that she didn't get to Tonks in time. She could always use the time Turner to fix it? Couldn't she? No. It wasn't possible she would be in risk of creating too many time loops. Messing with time is a sticky business to be caught in.
After she had swiftly attended his wounds, Hermione was back on track towards the boat house.
The sky was a melancholic gray and the wind whipped at her face, as she gracefully trod down the hill.
She had almost caught up when she saw Fred.
Fred?
What if?
What if she could save him too?
Taking a leap of faith, hoping no death eaters would see her, she cancelled her invisibility spell and sprinted towards Fred, who looked utterly bewildered to see her.
"Blimey Hermione! What are..."
"Shh! Fred! I really don't have time! You need to keep safe ok? Here is a spell that can turn you invisible! Just use it wisely and keep safe. Protect your family. I need to go."
Was giving him that spell going to save him? She didn't know? But at least she did something.
His blood was everywhere.
Everywhere she looked, red, scarlet. Severus's blood.
Her counter part had gone by the time she had arrived.
His plus was hellishly slow, but at least there was a beat.
Hermione rummaged around in her beaded bag, and began her final mission.
"Please Severus!" She sobbed as she added the last thing on the list of her ointments for his wounds.
She started with Dittany to seal the gashes on his neck, followed by her anti venin, blood replenisher and a pep up potion.
She checked his pulse again.
Faster.
She palmed the time Turner in her hand. How long should she wait? Honestly, she didn't know.
"You came!"
Hermione looked down to see Severus's black eyes weakly sparkling at her.
Her heart beamed with hope.
Gently brushing his cheek she said, "Severus, I can't stay long, do you think you are able to apparate to your office?"
He shook his head.
"No." He rassped, "but I do have an emergency portkey."
God even at the brink of death that man is fully prepared.
