6. Stupid Yellow Tomatoes

It was Rachel who noticed it first until Mike saw Rachel staring at the couple instead of the baseball game they're currently watching. They invited Donna and Harvey over for a game night on a friday night. After a busy day at the firm, no one really had the time to cook so Mike just ordered them pizza and bought the beers and wine. He ordered ahead, not really knowing what the Harvey or Donna wants on their pizza. Although Mike remembered Harvey ordering pizza before with yellow tomatoes so he assumed Harvey likes them.

Until that game night in their living room, he found out Harvey actually doesnt like the yellow tomatoes but it was Donna who likes it.

The pizza arrived and Mike and Rachel started eating while the other couple were picking the toppings on their pizza, like picky little kids. Harvey removes the yellow tomatoes on his and gives it to Donna, while Donna removes the olives on hers and gives it to Harvey. They move in sync, that no one has to ask each other what to do. It's already second nature to the both of them after being together for 13 years. Aside from the shitty thai, they would have pizza once in a while when they have to stay late in the firm before. Harvey refills wine on her glass and Donna hands him a napkin. They were oblivious to Mike and Rachel watching them. The latter two shouldnt be already surprised with how the couple act around each other but its different seeing them now that Harvey and Donna are actually together and married. If you didnt know Harvey and Donna you would actually think that they have been married longer than 6 months.

"I didnt know you hate yellow tomatoes, Harvey" Mike asked Harvey who's actually watching the game.

"What? I dont hate them, Donna just loves them so I just give it to her" he replied naturally with a shrug without taking his eyes off the tv.

"And you like olives so she gives it to you" Mike questioned again.

"No, she hates them so I just eat it" he replied. Donna makes him eat the olives or the other toppings she doesnt like and vice versa because Donna hates food being wasted. Its whenever there are instances that the pizza has them, just like tonight. They do it with every takeout they order not just with pizza.

They dont notice it being a big deal. It's not just about exchanging toppings. It's the other food eating habits they have when they eat together. When they order chinese, Harvey always make sure there's extra plum sauce for her. Donna would order extra pad thai from the shitty thai place because even though Harvey would say he doesnt like them, he ends up eating more than half of hers. The list is endless and they always thought of each other when they order.

They know each other too well, their likes and dislikes.

"And you two have been eating pizza like this ever since when?" Rachel butted in.

"I think since the first time we stayed late at the firm, its been a habit I guess" Donna answered innocently while munching on her pizza.

"Is this a deposition about eating pizza?" Harvey annoyingly asked who just wants to focus on the game.

"No just some observations" Mike replied, then he turned to Rachel and whispered "I told you they've been married for 13 years" which made Rachel smiled.

Without a doubt, it has always felt as if they were married longer than 6 months, thats for sure.
