I woke up in the middle of the night and groaned, I couldn't fall back asleep. I looked over at Keiko and smiled as I saw her sleeping peacefully. All I really wanted to do was hold her close to me as we slept, but she wouldn't allow that, she'd just call me a pervert. No one knows I like her and I'd never admit to anyone, she's just so beautiful and graceful. A few minutes later, I was thirsty. Getting out of my warm bed, I head downstairs to get a glass of water.

I grab a glass from the cabinet and turn the sink on, waiting for it to get cold. No one wants to drink hot water, especially from the sink. Once it got cold, I filled my glass half full and turned off the sink. I started to think as I drank some, I honestly don't know why I didn't fill it all the way up, I normally do. Once I finished, I put the glass in the sink and turned around, making my way back upstairs when Keiko ran into me, engulfing me in a hug, "Yusuke you're ok! I was worried!" She exclaims, hugging me tightly.

"What do you mean? Of course I'm ok," I chuckle, pulling back.

"I woke up and got worried when I didn't see you, I thought something with a demon might have happened."

I chuckle, "don't worry, I'm perfectly fine, I was just thirsty is all."

She nods, "we should probably head back to bed, we have school in the morning." I nod, knowing she's right, heading back to my room with Keiko by my side.

The next morning, I was still sleeping when I felt myself being shaked. I groaned and opened my eyes, "what do you want?"

"It's time you got up for school." A feminie voice says. I frowned, not sure who it could be until I remembered Keiko was over for a sleepover.

I sat up and yawned, "I don't want to go today, why don't we skip together?"

"You know I don't skip for silly reasons." She playfully slapped me on the back of the head, "and you can't miss anymore days and you know it, so come on, get up!" She says, pulling me out of bed. I sighed and looked around, everyone else was already ready for school. I went to the bathroom and got ready as well.

I came out of the bathroom a few minutes later and met everyone at the front door, "ready to go to hell?"

"Nah, I'm ready for school," Keiko says, as everyone walks out of the house. I stick my hands in my pocket and walk beside Keiko. Y/N walked in between Kurama and Hiei, I don't think they realize how obvious they are. We get to the four way stop and wait till it's safe to cross. "Well, this is where I go the opposite direction, I'll see y'all later.

I looked back to Kuwabara who had been extremely quiet, it worried me because he was never this quiet. He had a distant look on his face, as he looked in front of him, his hands in his pocket. "Hey man, you good?" I ask.

He nodded his head, however, I didn't believe him; he didn't boost himself up like he usually does. I raise a brow but sigh, turning back to Keiko. I'm not an emotional guy, I'm more of a fighting type guy.

We finally make it to school and head to first period, we all have the same schedule. Hiei having our schedule was Botan's doing, but Kieko, Kuwabara, Y/N, and I got lucky I guess. Now that I think about it, where is Botan? She's been gone since last night, she normally bugs us more. I grab the communicator out of my back pocket and open it, trying to contact Botan.

"Hello Yusuke, is everything ok?" She asks, her blue hair appearing on the small screen.

"Yeah, everything's fine, where are you? You've been gone since last night."

"Aww, are you worried?" She asks, teasing me.

"No," I scoff, "I was just curious." I don't like admitting that I worry about my friends, it makes me seem weak.

"Yeah, I totally believe you," she chuckles. "Anyways, I'm here with Koenma, we have a lead on the next mission y'all will be going on, I'll let you know when we have more details." She says, hanging up.

I roll my eyes and groan, "well this is just great."

"What is it?" Keiko asks, looking over at me.

"It sounds like we're going to have a big case soon." I explain, as we head to our seats.

"Oh, I'm sure it'll be easy for you, but you have to promise you'll be careful."

"Of course, I'm always careful." She smiles and nods, turning towards the front since class is about to start. I decided to tune the teacher out, not really caring to listen to all this crap.

"Yusuke," the teacher calls out, "what's the answer to the question I just asked?"

"Uh, George Washinton?" I ask, leaning back in my seat.

"Yusuke, you're in math, at least pretend like you're paying attention." The teacher sighs, and goes back to teaching. I chuckle to myself and shake my head, I'm not going to pay attention to this crap, although, I know for a fact Keikos' going to be on my ass about this. I look over at her to see her glaring at me and give a small, apologetic smile, but her frown doesn't waver. I sigh and turn to the front to make it look like I'm paying attention, wanting to make Keiko happy.

After what seemed like forever, school finally ended. Keiko and I walk out together, I want to hold her hand but that will make me look weak, plus she probably wouldn't like it either so I hold myself back, putting my hands in my pocket instead. Keiko turns to me, arms crossed, "Yusuke, you have to pay attention in class if you want to go to a good highschool!"

I roll my eyes a bit and sigh, "yeah, I know, it's just boring, plus I'd rather look at you."

"You would...?" She asks, blushing.

My eyes widened, "did I say that out loud...?"

"Yeah...you did," she says, softly.

I blush and clear my throat, "well I should be going," I say, quickly walking towards Kurama's house, I needed to talk to him about something anyways. I can't believe I said that out loud! She probably thinks I'm stupid now, why would she like me out of all people? We're just meant to be friends, that's it. I yell in frustration as some guys appear out of nowhere.

"Oh would ya look at that? It's Yusuke Urameshi, the one that thinks he's such a big shot, why don't we teach him a lesson, huh boys?" The first guy asks.

"Yeah!" The second one nods, smirking. The third one stayed silent, not sure why, but I'm sure we'll find out soon. I didn't really want to fight them, but I knew they wouldn't leave me alone until I beat their asses. I got into a fighting position and punched the first guy in the face, dodging the kick that came from the second guy, spinning around and punching him in the gut. The third guy landed a punch to my side causing me to miss my step and fall on the ground. As I was standing back up, something knocked the three guys out, it was Kurama's rose whip.

"Thanks, but I could have handled them," I scoff, walking around the three guys.

"Right, is that why you were on the ground?"

"I was in the process of standing back up!" I grumble, "anyways, i'm glad you're here, I need to talk to you."

"Is everything ok?"

"I'm not sure, we don't need to talk about it out in the open though."

He nods, "we can talk at my house, mother is out running errands and won't be back for some time."

I nod, following him to his house, my mind wandering back to Keiko.
