Maretime Bay Day: Part 4
The next morning, everything was peaceful where the birds were even chirping where Izzy was seen waking up where she gasped in excitement and got out of bed.
Izzy: It's here!
Izzy started scatting around the bedroom as she started to wake up everypony.
Izzy: The big day is here! The big day is here!
The others yawned and stretched as they got up where Zipp went up to the crystals to check on them.
Zipp: Don't worry, I got you.
Zipp went back to the others as they walked out of the Brighthouse where she saw North and remembered that Nemesis told them that he'll be okay.
Zipp took a deep breath as she continued to fly ahead.
Sunny and North were exiting the Brighthouse when…
Izzy: Sunny, North, wait!
Both North and Sunny looked back where Izzy showed two gifts wrapped in nice white wrapping and a golden ribbon.
Izzy: Happy Maretime Bay Day.
Sunny and North turned around to face Izzy properly.
Sunny: We don't usually exchange gifts.
Izzy: I know, but just open them!
Izzy gave North and Sunny their gifts as they opened them.
Sunny was surprised from what she saw.
Sunny: It's… it's the lantern my dad made for me.I thought it was beyond repair! Thank you so much, Izzy.
Izzy: Sometimes, when you add a little bit of magic, you can fix anything.
North opened his gift and saw a grappling hook.
North Star: A grappling hook?
Izzy: Take a guess what it's made out of.
North looked at the grappling hook and sniffed it where he recognized the scent.
North Star: My old grappling hook!
Izzy: Since you got all those crazy gadgets, you never have use for your boomerang anymore. So I talked to Shadox who gave me the parts I didn't have and made you your new gadget! What do you think? Like it?
North Star: Like it? I love it! Thanks Izzy.
North gave Izzy a kiss as he looked at the lantern and grappling hook.
North Star: Magic can fix anything…
Sunny: You're both right! Now let's go add some magic to today and fix this.
Izzy: Mm-hmm!
Down at Maretime Bay, Mane Street was busy as Bay Day started.
There were balloons hanging along with the wreaths as many tents were set up.
Blaze and Saber were eating candy apples wondering where the others were.
Blaze Chaser: I really hope nothing goes wrong
Saber Fruit: Take it easy, Blaze. We will pull through this.
Blaze Chaser: I know, I just want to prevent our magic from being lost. Our ancestors probably suffered because of it.
?: Excuse me?
Blaze and Saber turned their heads and saw an off white unicorn mare where she had slack purple hair and tail where her hair draped over her right eye where her other eye was still seen as it was a hazel color as she wore a turquoise scarf around her neck.
Saber Fruit: Hello, Primrose. Is there something we could help you with?
Primrose: I'm actually wondering if you know where I can find Hitch?
Blaze nearly choked on the bite of apple he took.
Blaze Chaser: The sheriff? Why?
Primrose: He's just so kind and self-expressive.
Blaze Chaser: How about I go get him for you?
Primrose: Thank you! I even bought two pumpkin spice smoothies to share with him.
Saber Fruit: Looks like somepony has a crush.
Blaze Chaser: I'll say.
Blaze finished his candy apple and went to go get Hitch who was with Izzy, North, Sunny, and Pipp.
Izzy: Oh, look, look, look! Ponies showed up after all! And there's the queen!
Haven was seen flying down as she landed down with Cloudpuff along with her two guards, Zoom and Thunder.
A trumpet fanfare was played as the crowd of ponies cheered upon her arrival.
Izzy: Hello, Your Majesticness!
Blaze Chaser: Yo, Hitch!
Hitch: Huh?
Blaze Chaser: Somepony wants to talk to you.
Hitch followed Blaze as North and Sunny walked off where Pipp saw her mother and gasped with joy.
Pipp: Mom!
Pipp walked up to her mother as Zipp, who was a distance behind her, ran off to hide.
Sunny and North were seen together, waving to the ponies with smiles.
Sunny: Happy Maretime Bay Day, everypony! Welcome!
North Star: So far, so good.
Sunny: Now we just gotta keep it up.
Dahlia: Spoons in the wreaths? Ugh, yuck!
North and Sunny saw Dahlia with Posey and another mare who were disgusted by the new wreaths.
Dahlia: I liked the old decorations better.
Posey: I could not agree more!
The three walked off as North and Sunny watched.
Gaia: (It was like they wanted you two to hear that)
North Star: (Just ignore them, Gaia)
Sunny couldn't though, wishing she could show them that change is great.
Down at the beach, Izzy was watching the sandcastle building contest as Amore was the judge as the latter saw the two mares who were fighting yesterday, were building a sandcastle together.
Izzy was looking in awe at the sandcastles where she turned around and saw Windy who made a really big sandcastle.
Izzy: Wow!
Windy finished after she placed a shell on the top.
A trumpet fanfare was played where Amore announced Windy the winner.
Windy landed as Amore gave her the trophy for winning.
The crowd muttered as Windy won as Posey and her group approached her.
Posey: Pegasu have an unfair advantage!
The ponies started to mutter and get upset only for thunder to boom which startled them only for a loud roar to be heard.
The ponies looked and saw an ACTUAL dragon who shapeshifted into Nemesis.
Nemesis: Now you can all shut up, or you talk to the scales.
Nemesis walked off all ticked off.
Zipp was now seen with Pipp as the former was concerned about the situation.
Back at the festival, unicorns and pegasi were seen having a good time while enjoying the food.
Earth ponies however were just disgusted and were either picky or just straight up didn't try it and tossed the food away.
Strong winds started to pick up as the storm clouds started to worsen and get dark.
The group were getting nervous and started to freak out.
Pipp: Oh, no!
Pipp tried to fly only for her magic to glitch out as she hit the ground.
Pipp got up and tried to fly but nothing happened.
Pipp: My wings won't work!
Hitch was about to move but there was some dark substance around his hooves, preventing him from moving.
Hitch: Neither will my hooves!
Duke Venture: What is that?!
Nemesis: Trouble…
Pony: Help!
Mare: Our hooves are stuck!
The dark substance then disappeared.
Mare: What's going on?!
Zipp: The glitches, they're getting worse.
Nemesis: And it gets even more worse. If this keeps up, Equestria will be destroyed along with us.
Shadox: We got lucky when it happened 1000 years ago. But I'm afraid that we won't have that luck this time.
The thunder continued to boom where the group decided to try one last thing.
Everypony was now seen at the stage waiting for the concert.
Sunny and the others were backstage as Gaia and Nyx were even with them.
Nemesis was actually having symptoms of PTSD as he was breathing really heavily.
Shadox: Breathe my old friend.
Nyx: It's okay uncle. We got this.
Sunny approached Pipp.
Sunny: Are you sure you want to do this? Nothing has gone to plan today.
Pipp: I have to give it my best shot! We still need all the positivity we can get, right?
Zipp: Maybe this will help.
Zipp presented Pipp's lucky mic and gave it to her.
Pipp: *Gasps* My lucky mic! Okay!
Pipp does her singing vocal warm-ups and blows a raspberry.
Pipp: Yes, we're ready! Alright. Showtime!
Pipp kissed North for luck and flew up.
Izzy: Break a hoof, Pipp! But not really! Actually, be really careful!
Sunny walked out on stage.
Sunny: Everpony please welcome pop star, Princess Pipp Petals, to sing the brand new Maretime Bay Day song!
Pipp landed down onto the stage as Sunny stepped back.
The Earth Ponies were confused as to why there was a new song only for Haven to fly above the crowd in excitement as she held Cloudpuff.
Haven: That's my daughter!
Pipp was about to start singing, only…
Dahlia: We want to hear the real Maretime Bay song, sung by an Earth Pony!
Shadox, who heard this, got mad.
Shadox: Oh that racist son of a-
Amore: Easy, love, don't say anything you might regret!
All the Earth Ponies started to overlap arguments where bigger and badder storm clouds formed above them where even louder bolts of thunder boomed.
Everypony was getting nervous as the magic glitched out where at the Brighthouse, the thunder struck inside and hit the crystals where they started to crack.
Back at the stage, the others stepped out as Nyx helped Nemesis walk.
Hitch: Hey! Be nice! Sheriff's orders!
Earth Mare 1: Are you on their side?!
Zipp: There are no sides!
The storm was getting worse as Sunny knew she had to say something.
Sunny: We know that magic returning hasn't been easy for everypony, that Equestria is really different, but that's a good thing! It's so much better now that–
A bolt of thunder interrupts her.
Sunny: Whoa! No, no, no! The magic! It's dying!
Sunny saw the Prisbeam glitching out where Hitch saw a thunderbolt strike the station.
Hitch: *Gasps* Eggie!
Hitch ran towards the station where a bolt struck the ground as it formed some kind of void that was increasing in size.
Haven: What is that thing?!
Zipp: It's some sort of void!
Sunny: Everypony, get back!
All the ponies ran off, panicking and screaming where the same dark substance appeared and stopped the Earth Ponies from moving.
Earth Mare 1: But we're stuck!
Earth Mare 2: Let us go!
Unicorn Mare: It's not us!
Several bolts of thunder were striking down where another one shot down as it was heading towards a trio of fillies.
North Star: No!
Before the bolt hit them, somepony, or in this case, someone, intercepted the bolt.
This creature had two legs and two arms where he wore a jet black suit with golden yellow arm bands and boots where he had a bright glowing lightning bolt on the chest of his suit outlined with more golden yellow as he wore a hooded jet black cape that was also outlined with golden yellow.
He had tan skin and sleek black hair.
Nemesis: Shadox, did you?
Shadox: Yes. I called him just in case this were to happen. Everypony! Meet a good old friend of ours! Black Adam! Ruler of Khandaq.
Black Adam: And I can see why you seeked my aid.
Nemesis: Thank you for coming, Adam. We could use your help by intercepting all the bolts.
Adam nodded and flew off as he started doing his task.
Posey was seen still struggling as Windy was about to run by.
Posey: Can't you ponies with magic do something?!
Windy tried to fly but nothing happened.
Windy: Ugh! Our magic isn't working!
The void kept expanding as the group tried to help the Earth Ponies who were too close to it.
Hitch was also stuck where he was holding the egg outside the station.
Hitch: Ah! I do not like this! No, I do not!
North was helping the other ponies where a bolt of thunder was about to strike him only for Adam to intercept it.
Black Adam: You must be more careful!
A bolt of thunder struck a nearby building where debris fell.
North Star: Look out, Black Adam!
North lunged towards Adam and pushed him out of the way only for something strange to happen.
North's eyes started to glow where he saw a set of memories that weren't even his.
He saw a desert and pyramids where there was also a temple and a city. He then saw Black Adam, except he wasn't Black Adam.
North then saw more events where Black Adam was in all of them.
North snapped back to reality as his eyes stopped glowing where he was on the ground where Black Adam helped him up.
Black Adam: You alright?
North Star: What happened back there?
Black Adam: I do not know. But you were in my head for some reason.
Another bolt of thunder struck down where North put up his hooves only for magic lightning to fire out of them.
North Star: By the names of the Ancestors?
Black Adam: Seems there is more to what happened. For now, help your friends. I will deal with the thunder.
Black Adam flew off as North went to help where he saw Windy trying to help Posey only for the two to fall in the void.
North Star: Windy! Posey!
North ran up to Sunny as they stood next to the void.
Sunny: Come on, alicorn magic! Work!
Zipp: But the magic! I-It's gone!
Sunny: Then I'll have to try without it!
Nemesis walked to Sunny all calm and collected.
Nemesis: Do, or do not. There is no try. If you try, you will struggle, but if you just do it, then you will succeed.
Sunny: Alright. Then I'll do it!
North Star: You mean WE'LL do it.
Sunny: What?
North Star: As future Dragon King, it's my job to help those in need! So I'm going with you rather you like it or not!
Izzy: Not without us!
Izzy tried to use her magic but it glitched out.
Zipp: That's it! The magic will come back to us if we work together! Come on, unicorns! Come on, pegasi! Help the Earth Ponies!
The unicorns and pegasi started doing as they were told where Izzy tried to use her magic again where it worked as she freed a stallion.
Pipp and Zipp were able to fly again as they were able to free Hitch.
Zipp: It's working!
Zipp then looked at North and Sunny.
Zipp: You two got this!
Nemesis: Remember. Just do it.
Nemesis flew off to help the others.
Izzy was seen levitating the lantern.
Izzy: It's too dark in there! Take this!
Izzy was about to give Sunny her lantern only for her magic to glitch out again as it fell into the void.
Sunny leapt in after it as North followed.
Sunny was able to catch the lantern with her teeth as her cutie mark started to glow as her alicorn wings and horn appeared.
North then saw another flash of Adam's memories and knew what he had to do.
North Star: SHAZAM!
A massive bolt of lightning fired into the void which Nemesis and Shadox saw.
Nemesis: Isn't Black Adam here with us?
Shadox: Then who did that?
Black Adam: I think I know who did that…
The bolt struck North as he felt his power increase where his body was covered in lightning where he closed his eyes and cleared his thoughts to help him focus.
Then North's body started to glow with a crystal blue aura around his body where his eyes turned silver.
North and Sunny flew side by side as they dove deeper into the void.
They eventually saw Windy and Posey screaming as they were still falling in the void.
Sunny then used her magic as a magic bubble appeared around her as she launched it towards them.
The magic bubble caught the two mares as it floated them out of the void where everypony was safe.
Nemesis: That's all the Earth Ponies.
Black Adam: And all the thunder stopped.
Gaia: But what about North and Sunny?
Everyone looked down into the void worried for the two as they waited for their return.
Izzy: Sunny? North?
All of a sudden, a Prisbeam shot out of the void as both North and Sunny flew out where the new Prisbeam flew across the sky as it hit the Brighthouse as the vines appeared all over the building where they then surrounded the Unity Crystals and healed them.
The crystals then burst out magic energy as the vines spread beyond the Brighthouse and throughout Maretime Bay as the vines did something to the Earth Ponies as green sparkles surrounded their hooves.
Hitch, being ticklish, laughed.
Hitch: That tickles!
The critters who were with Hitch were hiding in a box as they came out of their hiding spot and went up to the Sheriff as they made noise.
Hitch: I know, I know! I totally agree with everything you guys are saying.
Hitch just realized he understood what the critters said.
Hitch: Did you just talk?! Did I just understand you? What?!
The bird with the can hat started chirping and explained things.
Hitch: Wow, that's a lot of information. Well, nice to meet you, Kenneth. I'm Hitch!
Posey who was with Windy was inspecting her hooves where she gently tapped the ground where she used magic as flowers grew from the ground.
Posey: Flower power?!
A group of Earth Ponies tried magic themselves as they fixed a tree that was destroyed by a thunderbolt.
The friends grouped up all excited.
Sunny: Earth Pony magic?!
Izzy: But that's never happened before!
North Star: Gaia?
Gaia: Wasn't me. It must've been the crystals.
Zipp: When we work together, maybe we can invent new magic.
Sunny: You're right, Zipp. Actually, you were right about everything. I'm sorry I didn't believe you. I should have been a better friend and listened. I was just so focused on hoping magic was okay that I lost sight of everything else.
Sunny walked up to Zipp.
Sunny: Can you forgive me?
Zipp: *Chuckles* Obviously.
The two mares laughed and hugged.
Haven: Zephyrina! There you are!
The ponies saw Queen Haven approaching them all relieved that everything was over.
Haven: My hoofness, what an ordeal! Gather your things. We need to hit the sky if we're going to make it back to the palace by sundown.
Zipp: Mom! I'm not going back with you.
Haven: We agreed that you were to resume your studies.
Zipp: My place is here in Maretime Bay with my friends. I just need more time to figure things out. To investigate magic! To explore who I am before I take on my royal duty. And you know what? I think I know who I am is somepony who likes figuring things out.
Haven smiled.
Haven: Yes, you certainly are, my little princess investigator.
Zipp: Mom? Would you do me a favour?
Haven: Anything, darling.
Zipp: Would you mind just calling me Zipp for now?
Haven: Of course, Zipp.
Nemesis: North!
Nemesis approached North with Amore, Nyx, Shadox, and Black Adam.
Nemesis: Adam told me what happened.
North Star: I swear it's not wha-
Nemesis: Easy. You're not in trouble. I know what happened. You have a strange power that allows you to absorb and copy the powers of anyone you grab ahold of. And you also gain access to their memories to know exactly how to use them. That is what happened.
North Star: So you're saying that–
Black Adam: Yes, you now possess my powers.
North Star: Woah…
Shadox: You know, Adam. If you want you can stay and enjoy the festival.
Black Adam: Thank you for the offer, my friend. But Khandaq needs its ruler. And North, if you need guidance or help, find me.
Black Adam flew off where a bolt of lightning struck him as he disappeared.
Blaze Chaser: So wait, you're telling me that you now have the powers of Black Adam?
North Star: I guess?
Desna: Lucky.
Obsidia: So jealous.
Cloudpuff walked past the ponies as he went up to Hitch and started barking.
Hitch: I'm sorry, it's a what?
The egg started to shake as it cracked where the entire shell burst apart revealing a green baby dragon with wings.
Hitch: A dragon?
Sunny: But besides Harmonia, dragons haven't been seen in Equestria for generations!
The baby dragon just looked at Hitch and hugged him.
Izzy: He's so cute!
Pipp: Adorbs!
The baby dragon then got off of Hitch's hoof and tried to climb on his back where the Sheriff helped him up.
Nemesis: Shadox, remember Fluttershy?
Shadox: Of course I do. And I know what you're thinking and I agree.
Nemesis: Hitch could be Fluttershy's descendant. And North. Besides the power copy, you see that aura?
Shadox saw the aura and knew what it was.
Shadox: So early and so young too.
Nemesis: That kid has a lot of potential.
Posey then walked up to the group.
Posey: Hey, everypony. I just wanted to say… I'm sorry for the way I acted. I think I just felt…
Zipp: Left out?
Posey: Yeah! Exactly.
Sunny: We'll make sure that doesn't happen again. Right, guys?
The others agreed as Posey walked up to Pipp.
Posey: Pipp? Would you mind… singing your new Maretime Bay song?
Pipp: I will, on one condition, if you'll sing it with me!
Pipp brought out her lucky mic and gave it to Posey.
Posey: I'll do the harmony!
North Star: Before we do that, I actually got a song of my own.
Pipp: Really?!
North Star: I've been practicing in private.
Posey: Well what are you doing, standing here all glowing and electric? Get up there!
North undid the lightning as the aura faded away as his eyes turned back to normal where he flew onto to stage as the music started.
North tapped his hoof where Posey tossed him the mic as he caught it with his telekinesis.
# North Star: I don't wanna know if the truth is disappointing. I don't wanna know ignorance is bliss. Why... before I knew it, I came too far.
The ponies cheered as North started to fly.
# North Star: I can't stop this premonition of. The new beginning! I will now open up this new unknown frontier! I gotta believe!
# Turn it on!
North landed as the crowd went wild
# North Star: Extreme! EXCITE! EXCITE! Raise the beat! EXCITE! EXCITE! My heart is being guided to that place! I'm just going to dash through!
# Hey!
# North Star: I'm on a mission right now!
# Hey!
# North Star: I'm on a mission right now! EXCITE! EXCITE! The answer is… EXCITE! EXCITE! The answer is..
# One!
# North Star: In my hooves…
# Two!
# North Star: ...is a life that should continue…
# Three!
# North Star: … just got to live!
The crowd cheered as some ponies whistled.
Unbeknown to them though, they were being watched.
Somewhere inside a castle in the throne room was a deep purple alicorn mare with a curved horn with dark blue eyes and glittery blue eyeshadow as her mane was white with light streaks of cyan, and is parted into two side sections with thin braids wrapped around her ears.
This alicorn was watching them through a magic projection as she sat on her throne.
Alicorn: Took them long enough. And now that they have, it's time to take back what is mine!
The alicorn let out an evil laugh where back at the Brighthouse, Zipp was seen putting up a poster as the others approached.
Izzy: It looks brilliant!
Zipp: You think so?
Pipp: We're so glad you're staying in Maretime Bay, Detective Zipp!
Zipp: Me too. Nemesis even said he's making me a new Driver as a promotion. But we still have a lot to learn about magic and how it works. I'm just glad I'll be here to figure out with my best friends.
Sunny: Well, I definitely still have a lot of questions. Like why does my alicorn magic disappear?
Hitch: Yeah! Like why do I now have the magical power to understand every animal except for this adorable baby dragon?
The dragon cooed where he grabbed Hitch's face.
Zipp: Or…Where did magic come from? We know Twilight made the crystals but why? And how did they get separated? Why didn't Earth Ponies have magic before?!
Sunny: Well, at least we already know one thing for sure.
Izzy: *Gasps* What's that?
Sunny: No matter what lies ahead, we'll face it together!
North Star: And with friends like Black Adam and Gaia, we won't be alone along the trip either.
The group cheered as they were ready for whatever lied ahead of them.
