11. Donna Meet Lily, Lily Meet Donna
"Mom I really wouldnt know what I'd do differently if I didnt kiss Harvey. Its my fault too mom, thats why I resigned. Its easier for the both of us" she was on the phone with her mom while walking at the firm's lobby. She just left her resignation letter at Harvey's desk.
"Donna?" A woman called her name at the lobby so she turned around to see who it was. She's not the person she thought she'll meet after resigning from the job she loved the most.
"Hi. I'm Lily, Harvey's mom" the woman stretched her hand out.
"Lily. Hi! Uhm nice to meet you. I'm surprised you know who I am" she stretched out her hands for a handshake but Lily pulled her in for a hug.
"I didnt know it was you but I was told you're a redhead so.."
"I see. It was nice to meet you Lily. Harvey should still be at the office. It's on the 50th floor" Donna has been wanting to meet the woman so badly and she probably would have invited Lily for coffee or for a drink, if not for the fact that she just resigned and all she wanted to do is get home right away.
"Thank you Donna"
"Oh no worries. It's easy to get lost in this building" Donna smiled.
"No, not for that. Harvey mentioned it was a special someone that urged him to make peace with me. I know it was you, so thank you"
"I just thought it's about time. I'm glad you guys are okay now. Anyways I have to go Lily. It was really nice to meet you"
"Oh wait before you go, here's my number. I was wondering if I can get yours too" Lily handed her card to Donna.
"Of course!" Donna searched through her bag for her card and when she found it, she realized that she doesnt work for the firm anymore.
"Here's mine. You can just call me on my personal cellphone. I wrote it on the back" she has business cards with her cellphone written on the back for instances like this one. She just never imagined giving it out because she doesnt work for the firm anymore.
"Of course I dont really wanna trouble you when you're working. Thank you Donna"
"Yeah uhm I dont really work for the firm anymore..today's actually my last day"
"Oh! D-did something happen?" Lily asked.
"I got an good offer from somewhere else" she lied. Well technically it was half the truth.
"Well wherever it is Im sure they're lucky to have you Donna"
Donna smiled back at her. "Thanks Lily. I'll see you around" She turned around and head for the door before she Lily finds out the truth why she really left.
Atleast she met the woman before leaving Harvey Specter's life for good, she thought to herself. She'd only wished she met Gordon too.
Would she ever have the chance to meet Marcus? She wondered while having a drink at her apartment. Her thoughts were disturbed when she heard a knock.
"Lily! How? What are you doing here?"
"Dont worry. Harvey didnt send me here. I know the reason you left"
"He told you"
"I may have forced it out of him"
"Please come in..."
"Look Lily, it's my decision. It was my fault, I kissed him and-"
"You kissed?!"
"You said he told you?!"
"Not that-" Lily was cut off when they heard another knock.
Donna opened the door. "Harvey!"
"Mom?!" He was surprised to see his mom at Donna's apartment.
"Harvey, hi"
"What are you doing here?" He asked
"What are you doing here?!" Lily threw back the question.
"I'm here to tell Donna she's not resigning from the firm"
"Well she already did resign and got a better offer" Lily said.
"I'm taking it back." Harvey looked at Donna.
"Why?! You finally thought it was stupid?" Lily asked. Donna and Harvey were shocked with what just Lily said.
"Its okay Harvey I'll come back. If it's okay with Paula" Donna said.
"It is. She changed her mind and said it's fine with her that you come back"
"Oh that's very nice of Paula. But I dont think Donna should come back. You cant just ask someone to give up their job just because your girlfriend told you. That's unfair!" Lily argued.
"Look, I made a mistake. I shouldnt have asked you that. That's why I'm undoing it. But not because Paula's okay with it."
"Then why Harvey" this time it was Donna who asked.
"Because I choose you and I will, over and over again. Paula and I are done"
"Why?" She asked again.
"You KNOW why." He had that look in his face that Donna was able to read. He finally realized what was in front of his face. He would've kissed her but his mom was there. He just nodded at Donna to tell her that whatever she's thinking is right. She nodded back. It's like they're having a mental telepathy. That's how well they know each other. Lily's lost in the body language of the two and she doesnt know what the "why" means. But she knows that the two are inseparable and whatever misunderstanding they had with Donna resigning is now fixed.
"Why dont I order us some pizza and the three of us could restart this whole thing" Harvey suggested.
"I'd like that" the two women answered in sync.
"Yellow tomatoes?" Harvey asked Donna. Lily left the two in the corridor by the door and she went to the living room.
"Yes! You already know I love them" Donna replied.
"You know I love you" Harvey whispered which shocked Donna.
"You know your mom's here" she whispered back.
"You know I think she knows anyways"
"You know I can hear you two!" Lily shouted, which made them both giggle.
They ended up having pizza and wine while sharing stories in her living room. Well it was mostly Donna sharing Harvey's accomplishments over the years. She wanted to share Harvey's life to his mom to make her see what a good man her son is and it's what she saw in him.
Donna went to her bedroom to get the photos she collected of her and Harvey from different events they have attended over the years, firm and non-firm related.
"Marry her" Lily whispered to Harvey while handing him their grandmother's ring.
End.
