Beca was rocking Charlotte from side to side, trying to get Charlotte to sleep, but the baby was just crying out for Chloe. It was frustrating and breaking Beca's heart at the same time. She knew she'd been a bitch to Chloe but she just couldn't help it. There was a chance her daughter had something serious and that scared the living shit out of her. She didn't want anyone else to have her.

"Come on, baby, go to sleep." Beca said.

"Mamma." Charlotte said, resting her head on Beca's shoulder and continuing crying silently.

Beca sighed.

"I know." Beca said. "I miss her too."

Charlotte was still crying but she was so tired, she eventually fell asleep. Beca put her on her crib and went to her room to take a shower. She, like her daughter, fell asleep crying too.

Beca woke up, changed and fed Charlotte before having breakfast and going to the living room. She sat down and put Charlotte down to play with her toys on the ground.

"Hey." Dr. Mitchell entered the living room but frowned when he didn't see Chloe. "Where's Chloe?"

"I sent her home." Beca said.

"What?" Dr. Mitchell asked, taking a seat in front of her daughter. "You sent her home?"

"Yeah, after Charlotte's doctor's appointment." Beca sighed as she watched her daughter chew her toy quietly. "A week ago."

"Why?"

"Well.. Dr. Carl ran a blood test on Charlotte." Beca said. "There's obviously something wrong with my daughter."

Beca's eyes filled with tears and she let them fall, finally.

"And that's the reason you sent Chloe away? You love her, Beca, Charlotte loves her, she loves Charlotte.." Dr. Mitchell said.

"I don't.. I can't explain now why I did it, but I know it's for the best." Beca said.

"Whose best? If there really is something wrong with Charlotte, she's gonna need a lot of support from both her mothers, Beca." Dr. Mitchell said. "You pushed Chloe away, you need to go out and get her as soon as possible, otherwise you'll lose her. Trust me, I know how that works."

Beca looked up at her father and sighed, knowing he was right. She had to get Chloe back.

"I will, but.. I just.. what if she doesn't want me anymore?" Beca said.

"Beca, Chloe loves you." Dr. Mitchell said. "I've heard and seen how much Charlotte cries at night, every night, asking for Mamma. She misses Chloe, Beca. You miss Chloe."

Charlotte took her toy from her mouth and looked around, her dark blue eyes filled with tears quickly.

"Mamma." she said, looking down then looking up at Beca, who picked her up and hugged her. "Mamma."

Beca started crying harder, going upstairs to her bed. She put Charlotte on her lap, hugging her close to her chest as the infant cried along with her, crying out for Chloe. Beca looked out the window and fell asleep with Charlotte's head on her chest.

Dr. Mitchell grabbed his phone when he heard Charlotte crying upstairs and dialed Chloe's number. He knew Beca wouldn't have the courage to call Chloe anytime soon, so he needed to do the job for her.

"Hello?" Chloe answered.

"Hello Chloe, it's me." Dr. Mitchell said

"Oh hi Dr. Mitchell." Chloe said and Dr. Mitchell could hear the sadness in her heart.

"Hi, listen, Beca is very depressed, she's been crying herself to sleep every night, Charlotte cries out for you every day, she was crying a while ago, even." Dr. Mitchell said. "My daughter is too vulnerable right now to call you and ask you to come back, but I'm not. They both need you, Chloe."

Chloe sighed.

"I need them too." Chloe said.

"Please, come back." Dr. Mitchell asked. "They miss you so much and I know you miss them too."

"I miss them more than anything." Chloe said.

"Come over, please." Dr. Mitchell said.

"I'm on my way." Chloe said and hung up.

Dr. Mitchell smiled and waited. The doorbell rang a little less than fifteen minutes after Chloe ended the call. He answered and the redhead gave him a small, tired smile.

"They're upstairs."

Chloe nodded, putting her purse down and all but running upstairs to what used to be hers and Beca's room. She found the bigger brunette sleeping, Charlotte on her lap, almost falling. The toddler noticed she was falling and woke up. She almost fell and hit her head against the bedside table, but Chloe was fast enough to pick her up.

Charlotte looked up to see who had picked her up and her face broke into the biggest smile Chloe had ever seen as she saw her.

"Mamma!" she exclaimed, grabbing both sides of Chloe's shirts and brought her closer, resting her head on her chest, before looking up at Chloe again with a smile. "Mamma."

Chloe smiled, feeling tears filling her eyes as she hugged Charlotte, kissing the top of her head.

"Come on, baby, let's go downstairs and wait for Mommy to wake up." Chloe said. She didn't want to wake Beca.

Chloe took Charlotte to the living room where her toys where spread on the ground over a blanket, putting her down and sitting down next to her.

"What are we gonna play?" Chloe found herself smiling a real smile in a week.

Charlotte grabbed a little doll and handed to Chloe.

"Mamma." she said.

"Thank you, baby!" Chloe smiled.

Charlotte smiled and picked up a yellow block. She hit it against the ground repeatedly, giggling before looking up at her redheaded mother.

"You like that?" Chloe asked.

Charlotte grabbed a red block and gave it to Chloe. She put her yellow block on the ground and grabbed the red, putting it on top of the red one, looking back up at Chloe.

"You're a very smart girl, did you know that?" Chloe smiled.

Charlotte smiled big.

"Dad have you seen Charlotte?" Beca cut herself off when she noticed her daughter sitting beside Chloe.

Charlotte let out a loud giggle as she threw herself on Chloe's arms.

"Mamma!" she said to Beca, as if she was showing her Chloe was there.

Beca approached them before kneeling down.

"Hey." she said. "Can we talk?"

"Yeah." Chloe nodded and they both stood up, leaving Charlotte confused. "We'll be right back, okay sweetie?"

Charlotte still looked confused.

"Mamma.." she said, handing out the doll, waiting for Chloe to take it.

Chloe smiled, picking her up and taking her with them upstairs to Beca's room.

"Chloe, I… I'm sorry about everything I said to you." Beca said. "I.. I can't find a good reason to say them. I'm sorry, I missed you, I love you and I know you're Charlotte's mother and you adopted her and that means the world to me."

"Beca I know you were scared, I was too, but I need you not to do that again." Chloe said.

"I won't, I promise." Beca said. "I love you."

"I love you too." Chloe said and Beca hugged her tight, kissing her softly on the lips. "I told you, I'm in this for the long run, I'm not leaving."

"I know, I'm sorry." Beca said. "I love you, I'm sorry."

"You're forgiven, I love you too." Chloe said.

"Ove." Charlotte said.

"What did you say, Char?" Beca asked.

"Ove." Charlotte repeated. "Ove mamma."

"You love mamma?" Beca asked.

"Ove me." Charlotte said.

"Sweetie, we love you too!" Chloe kissed the child's cheek tenderly. "We love you so much!"

"We love you so much, Char!" Beca said, kissing her daughter's hand.

"We promise nothing will bad will ever happen to you." Chloe said.

Charlotte smiled and looked from Chloe to Beca, then back at her hands.

"Thank you for not giving up on us." Beca said.

Chloe kissed her softly.

"Never." she smiled.
