Summer vacation had come and the Bellas agreed it'd be great if they went to Florida and rented a house but Chloe offered her parents' house since they were gonna stay for two weeks only.
Beca was reluctant at first because of Charlotte, she even considered leaving Charlotte with her mother, but Chloe convinced her to take Charlotte with them, reminding that if they wanted, they could just come back home.
So the girls packed their stuff and Charlotte's, with the little girl's help, which was a plus for two reasons: one, it was actually helpful when she gave them her opinion and two: it was so freaking cute.
"Okay Char how about this dress?" Chloe asked, holding a floral dress for the toddler to see.
Charlotte had a serious face as she examined the dress, then she broke into a smile.
"Yes!" she said.
Chloe smiled and folded the dress, putting into the child's bag.
"Okay." Chloe said. "Now we need shoes."
Charlotte clapped as Chloe opened her shoe drawer and pursed her lips, looking at her shoes.
"Okay we're gonna need these sandals." Chloe said.
Charlotte smiled and clapped.
"We're gonna take two pairs of sneakers." Chloe said, grabbing two pairs.
Charlotte grabbed her hand and stopped her.
"No neakes." Charlotte said.
"Char, you're gonna need those." Chloe said. "Let's just put them in, alright?"
Charlotte pouted but looked down.
"Otay." she said.
Chloe smiled.
"Flip flops." Chloe said and grabbed two pairs.
"Fip fops!" Charlotte said excitedly.
"All that's left is underwear I guess and swimming suits." Chloe said, putting her hands on her hips.
"Undie!" Charlotte said, going to her closet. She opened her underwear drawer and started pulling a bunch out, throwing them on the floor. "Undie mamma!"
Chloe turned around and saw what Charlotte was doing and gasped.
"Charlotte no!" she said, stopping the toddler. "We have to keep it organized, okay baby?"
"Otay. Sowwy mamma." Charlotte said.
"It's okay, but you have to help mamma organize it, alright?" Chloe said and Charlotte nodded. "You hand me some of the underwear and the rest we'll put it back in."
"Otay." Charlotte said.
Chloe smiled and went back to the luggage as the toddler came with about twenty pairs of underwear in her arms, some fell on the way.
"Hee mamma." she said.
"Thank you honey." Chloe said.
Charlotte smiled proudly and went back to get some more.
It was only two weeks but they were gonna go to the beach, to the pool, plus Charlotte was still a toddler and even though she only wore diapers at night, there still were some accidents, so you can never take too many underwear.
"Okay, now swim suits and we're ready." Chloe said. "Do you think we can be ready by the time mommy comes home?"
"Yes!" Charlotte said and looked at the underwear on the floor. "Mamma, undie!"
"Oh yeah we still have to put that back. It'll be quick if you help me." Chloe said.
"Elp!" Charlotte said with a smile.
Chloe and Charlotte finished with the underwear drawer and then moved on to the swim suits.
"I like this one, how about you?" Chloe asked, holding a bright pink one piece swim suit. "It's pretty."
"Yes, pwetty." Charlotte agreed.
"How about this one?" Chloe asked, holding a two piece this time, ocean blue. "I have one just like it, how about we take this one? We'll be twins!"
"Tins, tins!" Charlotte said, clapping her hands. Chloe put the swim suits in her luggage and Charlotte looked at it to see if it was well organized.
"How about we take five?" Chloe said. "We can wash them and you can use them again."
"Five." Charlotte said.
"Okay." Chloe said.
Chloe chose three more, with Charlotte's help and they were done. She closed the luggage and smiled.
"We're done, Char! Give me five!" Chloe said, raising her hand to the toddler, to hit her tiny hand on it as hard as she could with a laugh. "Oh! Remember that onesie of yours we packed that mommy has one just like?"
Charlotte nodded.
"She didn't pack it, wanna come and put it in her bag before she comes home?" Chloe said in a loud whisper.
Charlotte smiled big.
"Yes! Yes! Yes!" she said and ran out of the room into her mothers' room, Chloe following behind.
Chloe went through Beca's side of the closet and got the onesie and put it on the bed.
Charlotte climbed on the bed and put her hands on her mouth, as if trying to cover her little giggle, knowing she was doing something 'naughty'.
Chloe opened Beca's bag and put the onesie under her clothes so she wouldn't see it.
"There." Chloe said.
Charlotte giggled, still with her hands in her mouth, but her expression changed when they heard keys in the door. Charlotte got out of the bed and went downstairs, giddy, like a kid who was trying to hide a secret.
"Hello!" Beca said and Charlotte came running and hugged her legs. "What were my girls doing upstairs?"
"We were packing, right Char? Char helped me." Chloe said.
"Oooh, you helped mamma?" Beca asked and Charlotte nodded. "You're such a good girl!"
Charlotte smiled proudly as Beca placed a kiss on the top of her head.
"I have something else you can help if you want." Beca said.
Charlotte perked up and looked up at her brunette mother.
"I bought pizza dough and we can pick the toppings. Wanna help?" Beca asked.
"Yes! Yes! Elp!" Charlotte said.
"Okay, so we're gonna go wash our hands and put on our aprons." Beca said.
"Apon!" Charlotte smiled and ran to the nearest bathroom.
Beca sighed with a smile and wrapped her arms around Chloe's waist as Charlotte went to the kitchen and got her little apron and Beca's. The two had custom made three aprons, one small for Charlotte, it had a zebra print and 'Charlotte' written in pink, and the other two were just like it except they had 'mommy' and 'mamma' written on them.
"Mommy, apon!" Charlotte, said carrying her apron and Chloe's, since she couldn't read. The apron was too long, so she tripped on it and fell on her knees, but she stood right back up. "Ow."
"Are you alright honey?" Beca asked, taking the aprons from Charlotte.
"Yes." Charlotte said.
"Now this is mamma's apron, can you get mine?" Beca asked.
"Otay!" Charlotte said, running back to the kitchen and getting the other apron. "Apon, mommy!"
"This the right one, but you're gonna trip again." Beca said, taking the apron from Charlotte before she could fall. "Thank you honey. Wanna see if mamma wants to help us?"
Charlotte smiled and turned to Chloe.
"Mamma, elp us?" she asked.
"Will you let me?" Chloe asked.
Charlotte nodded with a grin.
"Okay." Chloe smiled.
"Let's start!" Beca said, putting her apron on and going to the kitchen. "What's the first thing we do before cooking?"
Charlotte frowned as she thought.
"We wash our…?" Beca said.
Charlotte lit up.
"Hands!" she said, holding her hands up so her mother could see. She grabbed Beca's hand and ran to the closest bathroom.
Beca giggled as she helped her daughter wash her hands, then washed her hands herself before Chloe did.
The three put the ingredients on the table along with one pizza dough.
"What do we need first?" Beca asked.
"Ceese?" Charlotte tried, pointing at the cheese.
"No, that's the second ingredient." Beca said. "It's red and it rhymes with potato."
"Omato!" Charlotte said, grabbing the can of tomato sauce.
"Right! One point for Charlotte!" Beca said.
"I win?" Charlotte asked with a smile.
"Not yet, we need to see how the rest goes." Beca winked.
"I wanna win too!" Chloe said and faked a pout.
"Mamma win." Charlotte informed Beca.
"What about me?" Beca asked.
"We all win." Chloe said with a smile to Beca then turned to Charlotte. "How about that, Char?"
"We win!" Charlotte agreed.
"Okay. Char, can you help mamma spread the tomato juice all over the pizza while I cut up the cheese?" Beca asked.
"Otay." Charlotte said while Beca moved to the sink with the cheese and a knife.
"But don't forget to make sure mamma is making a good job, alright?" Beca said.
Charlotte nodded and stood on the chair. She smiled when Chloe filled a wooden spoon with tomato sauce and helped the toddler spread it over the pizza. She started clapping and jumping on the chair.
"No, no, Char, we don't jump on the chair, remember?" Chloe said, making Charlotte stop. "Where do we jump?"
"The foor." Charlotte said.
"Right, the floor." Chloe said. "If you jump on the chair you can fall and hit your head and we don't want that."
Chloe kissed her head and grabbed another wooden spoon filled with tomato sauce and looked at Charlotte.
"Wanna help me?" she asked.
"Yes!"
Chloe smiled as Charlotte carefully poured the sauce on the dough, then turned to Chloe.
"Good, mamma?" she asked.
"That's great, honey, this is gonna be the best pizza ever!" Chloe said, making Charlotte smile bigger. "We need to do that for the Bellas, what do you think?"
"Yes!" Charlotte said. "Dey wove it!"
"Yeah, they're gonna love it." Chloe smiled. "Right mommy?"
"Right!" Beca said. "And the cheese is ready."
Beca put a plate full of cheese on the table.
"Who wants to put the cheese?" Beca asked as she pretended to think, looking between Chloe and Charlotte.
Of course, Charlotte raised her hand and started said 'me, me!' over and over.
"Okay, Char can do it." Beca said.
Charlotte grinned and grabbed one slice of cheese and carefully put it on the pizza.
"Good, mommy?" she asked.
"Good. You're a great chef, Char." Beca said, kissing the top of her head.
Beca and Chloe smiled as they watched their daughter put the cheese on the pizza. They lived for those moments, cooking and just being together and they were great something as awful as leukemia wasn't going to break that apart.
yaaay! Happy family time! Next chapter we're gonna have the Bellas + Charlotte on the beach! That should be fun!
