You yawned as you woke up, stretching your wings and sitting up from your nest. "Morning Mal." You hummed, brushing your hair away from your face. On the other side of the room, you could see your sister's wings shifting, "Mmmorning." Mal mumbled tiredly, rolling over to look at you. Smiling at her, you stood and walked over, helping her up from her nest. "Come on, Carlos and Jay are gonna eat everything by the time we get downstairs." You laughed along with her as both of you got dressed. You slipped on some black leather pants that you got from Diaval along with a black tank top and an amber backless leather jacket. Mal's outfit was very similar to yours, except her purple jacket was zipped all the way up. You both zipped up your boots and went downstairs, going to the dinner table.

Per usual, your wings almost knocked some of the objects over and Diaval grabbed them, placing them where they belong again. "Good morning girls!" He chirped happily, radiating sunshine. He was always like that, some of it was fake because he couldn't turn into his true form. However, he was almost always happy to see you and your sister. "Morning Diaval." "Good morning Diaval!" You and Mal chimed your greeting, sitting down at the stools on opposite sides of the table. "Hey guys, sleep well?" Evie asked, eating some eggs from her plate. "Same as usual..." Mal sighed, still waking up. "Still stuffy." You twisted your face up in distain as you remembered your constant sleeping area. It would have been much better if you could sleep outdoors instead.

"You're not sleeping outside on the Isle and that is final." Maleficent's regal voice filled the room as she stepped down from the landing her desk was at. Mal looked at her for a moment curiously before nudging your foot with hers. You glanced up from your breakfast and looked over to where Mal jerked her head. Mother had letters...? That's odd... You and your sister shared a look before Mal spoke up, "Mother, what are those letters?" Maleficent gazed over everyone for a moment, all attention on her. Letters were uncommon on the Isle because they could never be trusted with all the villains. "One is from the castle. The prince has decided to allow the children of Cruella De Vil, Jafar, the Evil Queen, and myself to go to the mainland and attend school. As it reads, he wants to give you all a chance." Maleficent's tone only read her distrust of this prince, most like more of his parents considering all her experience with kings and queens.

"And the other?" Queen Grimhilde asked, having gotten on Maleficent's better side after many years. That is also why the others lived in the house as well, they had gotten on her good side. "A letter Mal and (Y/n) will be mailing to their sister to inform her as to our whereabouts. Hopefully, it won't be needed..." Maleficent turned her gaze to the two of you. "You are to go to Auradon and try to get Fairy Godmother's magic wand. That will be able to set all of us free." She motioned to those in the room. "You are to send the letter as soon as you can without being caught. I will have Diaval try to follow you for assistance. If he manages to get past the magic barrier in time, then you will have all of his help." Diaval nodded as you and Mal glanced at him. "If not, you are on your own."

"What's in it for us?" Jay asked, leaning forward on the table. Maleficent turned her eyes towards him and he shrank back, "...You children and your parents will be coming with us to Beastie's kingdom. Cruella can work in fashion once again so long as she is careful." Maleficent sent a look to Cruella who shook her head, a lot more mellowed out since she became a mother. "I won't go near dogs anymore. Not since..." She shuttered and Carlos's eyes went wide. "There are dogs in Auradon! I'm not going!" His voice shook with fear as he backed away and closer to his mother. "Just don't piss them off," Mal suggested sarcastically, rolling her eyes. Carlos calmed down a little as Cruella spoke to him quietly. For years, she had told him the stories of when she was off the Isle and it seemed her story about the dogs frightened him the most.

Maleficent turned her gaze to Jafar, "Jafar can work in wherever he wishes, but if you break the laws then I shall do nothing to protect you." She told the thief plainly, getting rid of the thought before it even crossed his mind. "And Queen Grimhilde... I will talk to Aurora about allowing you into the castle to assist them. Maybe you can catch the eye of some noblemen." The comment was offhand, but it made Queen Grimhilde perk up. "You children will be allowed to visit the Moors of course. You are Mal and (Y/n)'s friends after all." Jay, Carlos, and Evie perked up at the mention of the Moors, having always been fascinated with the tales Maleficent told her daughters.

"Now, knowing what you'll have to do, are you ready to leave?" Maleficent prompted. You and your friends looked at each other before nodding curtly. "Good. Mal, (Y/n), you will have to hide your wings and horns." Maleficent was met with gasps throughout the room. "Hide their wings and horns!?" Diaval burst in outrage, though keeping his anger to a minimum. Maleficent closed her eyes and waited for the noise to die down before continuing, "Humans don't trust faeries and if they see you in your true forms, they will be watching you even more closely. You will have no way of doing anything..." Maleficent paused, looking somewhat pained, "I don't enjoy telling you to hide yourselves. I still remember how I felt when Beastie asked me to cover my horns and now, I am asking you both to cover your wings as well." There was an apology in her eyes as she looked at you and Mal. "It's okay mother, we understand," Mal spoke up. You nodded, "Yes, and it won't be for very long hopefully. We can manage it." You agreed. You could see her relax a little before Maleficent nodded, "Alright then. Go get your things packed, they shall be coming to get you all soon." And with that, you all packed your things before heading out to grab some stuff you had left at hidden locations.
