19. Jealous Darvey (post canon ~Seattle)
They agreed to keep their marriage lowkey at Zane Ross' firm. The reason being is that they didnt want any gossips about it. It means only Mike and Rachel know that they're married. But then the unintended effect is that associates, clients and secretaries flirt and hit on the both of them, every chance they get. Afterall, they're both very good looking and single, they thought.
Donna and Harvey turn them down and once at home they would tell each other about it and then just laugh about it.
But as the days go by it unknowingly affected them. Little did they know it's becoming too often and both get a pang of jealousy when they see someone flirting with their other halves.
It was Donna who got jealous first and she couldnt help but react when she saw a blonde woman, younger than her, flirt with her husband.
She fled from her seat and went to where her husband is when she saw the arms of the woman on her husband's arms through the glass walls. She's not the jealous type and she doesnt know what's gotten into her.
"Harvey! I was wondering if you have time to look over something for me? Its really urgent!" Donna said, ignoring the blonde woman's presence.
Harvey excused them from the woman and went to her office.
"What was that?" Harvey asked.
"What was what?" She acted oblivious.
"You dont think I know what you did?" He said and also told her that the woman is a client. He doesnt know whether he should be annoyed or happy because his wife is obviously jealous.
"Fine I dont know what's gotten into me. I acted impulsively" she said while throwing both of her hands in the air.
"You're jealous" he grinned at the fact.
"Dont let it get over your head"
"I dont have to" he said and looked around before whispering "you already married me" he grins and left her office.
They laughed about it once they got home, just as usual. Then it was Harvey who got jealous. An associate has been going in and out of Donna's office. He asked her about it and she said the man's just asking for her opinion about something. Harvey was bothered but he didnt show it to her. He just kept thinking that they're already married and he knows Donna loves him.
However, it became unbearable to Harvey when someone sent Donna flowers and it's obviously not him. It was from a guy who happened to be Donna's friend in college and is now one of their clients.
Harvey was leaning at the ledge by the window in her office, with his arms folded by his chest.
"Waiting for me. Something wrong?" Donna said to her husband as soon as she came back to her office, after her meeting. Harvey didnt say anything and shifted his gaze to the flowers on her desk. She then saw the flowers and took the card out of it and read it. The guy did not just send him flowers but is asking her out to dinner.
"I cant keep doing this Donna" Harvey confessed and continued..
"We need to stop pretending we're not together. For fuck's sake we've done that for 12 years and I'm done hiding! Donna I love you and I dont care what dirty gossip they say about us! I married you because I want you in my life. Hell you are my life! And my life revolves around here too, which means-" He got cut off by Donna kissing him, in her office, where people could see through the glass windows. She still cant believe how much Harvey loves her. It made her heart flutter that's why she kissed him. To show everyone that they are actually together and married. Even Mike who's passing by saw it and almost drop the folder he's holding.
"Okay. I'm sorry, you're right. Starting today we're married. I mean we actually are" Donna said and kissed him quickly again.
"Good" He finally relaxed. "And throw those flowers away" he ordered.
"B-but they're pretty. Cant I just throw the card?" She pleaded and he just glared at him.
Not only did she throw the flowers away.
Because Harvey's right, they've been pretending for too long and have wasted so much time. Being married, especially to the love of her life is something she shouldn't hide.
So she also asked the maintenance crew to urgently add something on her name on the glass.
