25. 13-year rehearsal (post canon Seattle)

Mike and Rachel arrived at the restaurant first. It's a double date, a day before valentines day. Donna and Harvey arrived 15 minutes after them. The latter greeted and apologized for being late. Then the late couple gets settled. Harvey pulls out the chair for Donna and they both sit down. They lean towards the table, grab the table napkin and place it on their laps at the same time. They all placed their orders once the server arrived. Their glasses was filled with Donna's choice of red wine. They chatted about work, their life and what nots. They even facetimed with Louis, Sheila and Lucy while waiting for their meals to arrive.

Harvey and Donna sip from their wine glasses at the same time after finishing the meal. Sometimes they would move at the same time, literally. It's like watching a dance group that had all the time to rehearse. They are very in sync.

Mike had noticed it before, back in New York.

He first noticed it when he said something that didn't please the two, something about his suit. The couple crossed their arms, tilted their heads and raised their eyebrows at him at the same time. It amuses him even more when he talks to either Harvey or Donna alone. One time he was talking to Harvey about a case that they're working on but he sees Donna in him. The way Harvey taps the desk with his fingers have the same rhythm as when Donna does it. They weren't even together at that time yet.

Now that they are together, Mike cant help but let out a small chuckle when the couple in front of him do the finger tapping simultaneously while they're lost in their own conversation. He just confirmed that they really do have the same rhythm.

"Enjoying the show?" Rachel whispered to her husband because she noticed it too.

"More like I miss it ever since we moved here"

"Well you'll have a lifetime to watch"

Their desserts arrived. It was a traditional New York cheesecake. They ordered it to commemorate where they all started.

"It's homely" Harvey and Donna said in unison after taking a first bite.

It's not just their actions. They also share the same vocabulary.

"What?" Harvey and Donna said in sync when they saw Mike and Rachel looking at them, smiling.

Harvey and Donna are just oblivious how in sync they are with their actions and with their words. But this is what you see after a 13-year rehearsal.

End.
