Batman closed his eyes and took deep breaths to calm the annoyance that was slowly building up within his body. They didn't know how long it had been, but Naruto, Canary, and a tied up Green Arrow had been gone for a while now. He was thankful whoever was in charge of this place made the room soundproof.
"So we're just going to ignore that Green Arrow is forced to watch…whatever it is they're doing in there?" Red Arrow asked out loud.
Diana frowned and rested her head on her right fist, letting her elbow keep her upright by resting against the armrest. "We know what they're doing in there. But we can't do anything about it, we're permanently glued to the seats again." She said with distaste.
"Perhaps they're working their issues out?" Starfire asked, though her tone betrayed the optimism she was trying to display.
Superman sighed in his seat and rubbed his face with both hands. Maybe Batman had been onto something when he had said relationships between coworkers led to problems. He wasn't stupid, he knew that Canary was in there having sex with the young man while her ex watched. The question was how Oliver would react once this was all over. The man of steel hardly believed that he would be willing to drop it without incident.
Finally, after what seemed like forever, Green Arrow was once again among them. His eyes were narrowed enough that if someone placed dental floss over them, he'd be blinded. The door opened and Dinah was the first to emerge. Her hair was a mess and her mascara was completely smeared down her cheeks. Just as he was going to point it out, the woman's face was cleaned and looked as if nothing had occurred.
Naruto followed not a second later and seemed to be slightly disoriented but otherwise alright. He wore a goofy grin and his eyes were seemingly permanently glued to Canary's figure. The young man made it no secret what went on behind closed doors.
"Thank you for joining us." Batman's sarcastic tone echoed through the room.
"Sorry." Naruto muttered.
"I apologize for the delay. Please, continue Batman."
Green Arrow felt his bones creak from the pressure he was exerting in an attempt to get up. As if he hadn't been humiliated enough, Canary flipped her hair over her shoulder and leaned her head on the blond and took his hand in her own. She knew he was watching and smirked.
"Expect a meeting when we return." He said before picking up where Dinah had left off. "Reluctant Ally. Huntress."
'If this Martini or Maroni or whatever his name is doesn't show up soon, I'm going to consider letting someone else take over from here.' Uzumaki Naruto grumbled as he sat on a roof, watching the people who went in and out of a café-looking building. Outside it was parked multiple cars. Each one looked perfectly capable of holding six people comfortably. He'd lost track of how long he'd been sitting down but judging from how he felt like he'd been sitting on metal, it had obviously been a long time. This wasn't the longest stakeout he'd done since the beginning of his career but it wasn't his most enjoyable.
"You're some sort of cop in this one it seems." Superman commented, finally happy to hear about the blond in a different situation than the last two.
Naruto doubted it. If the first two chapters were anything to go off of, he would guess either a member of their Justice League or some other organization. Doing a stakeout meant he was after someone and didn't want to be noticed.
He'd been hired by an anonymous employer who'd tasked him with the monitoring of some guy named Antonio Martinez or at least that was what he hoped it was. He'd done research on the man himself and found that he happened to be the head of a company that was affiliated with a Sicilian crime family led by Stefano Mandragora.
And so far, that was what he was doing. Monitoring and occasionally updating his co-workers while they broke into Martinez's house to retrieve whatever it was they were asked to. Could be documents, a device, an artifact or the man's family. He didn't care too much about it. He was being paid to watch the man and that was what he'd do even if it meant making himself as comfortable as he could in the rain for hours to watch a guy talk with his buddies.
"Or not." The man of steel muttered.
Naruto wanted to chuckle but refrained from doing so so that he didn't shake the woman resting her head on his shoulder.
"The man's family?" Red Arrow asked out loud. "If he doesn't care what they come out with, he's definitely not a cop. But if he's keeping tabs on Mandragora, there's a chance he could be in line with the League."
"You have gone into people's homes to look for things Batman." Diana said pointedly. "I doubt you'd have reservations about entering a criminal's home."
The caped crusader didn't dignify that with a response.
He just hoped whatever the man had in his home was worth all this because he'd be pissed if he found out he'd sat in the rain just so they could take a piece of paper or take a single folder from a laptop. Not to mention he had a slight feeling in his gut that he hadn't been told everything there was to know.
' He'll be meeting the Toledos and a few others here. The meeting will last four to six hours. Notify us when it's come to a close and await further instructions. Further instructions my ass. In the end, I'll be asked to kill him. I bet they've figured out that someone got followed here and left from another exit point'. He thought. It wouldn't be the first time he'd heard of things like that happening.
He'd had a guy like that who'd tried an assassination and didn't know he'd been located. His target had taken a passage in her house that led to her car a few hundred meters away and by the time he realized nobody was around anymore, she was long gone.
"He's an assassin." Batman realized. His eyes immediately darted to the leader of the League of Shadow who had seemingly not reacted. He wasn't fooled though, he knew the man was even more interested now. Ra's still didn't have a successor, and it didn't take a genius to see that Naruto was checking more and more boxes in the man's mind.
There had been talk of him returning with them and if that happened, he was certain the man would act.
He would need to plan for that possibility.
Of course, he'd done a full survey of the place a while ago and found no exits outside of the main entrance and standard fire exit but he couldn't be too sure there wasn't a tunnel leading to the Gotham docks unless he went inside. But so long as Martinez lingered in a room, he was free to look around and complain all he wanted.
'It's like they're plotting to raid the central bank in Metropolis or something with how long they're taking. Are they planning to spend the night here?' Naruto pondered. He knew they weren't but he was more irritated than curious. The rainfall only seemed to get heavier, adding to his irritation.
Naruto sighed as he listened to the sounds of rain, cars honking and the rumbling of thunder. It was in times like these that he wished he had as much reputation as Deathstroke. Nobody hired Deathstroke to sit on his ass for hours in the rain with no idea what he'd do next.
"Deathstroke?"
"An assassin from our world. Hailed as the best one in the world actually." Canary answered. "You almost sounded like you knew him." She pointed out.
Both Batman and Ra's Al Ghul looked over at him, both for different reasons.
This time he chuckled nervously. "Don't want to sound conceited but that's what some of the women back home nicknamed me."
"Is it because you have a fearsome reputation as an assassin?" Starfire asked curiously. Diana shook her head, almost envious at the Tamaranian woman's naivety.
"Not exactly." Naruto mumbled, suddenly feeling embarrassed to have to explain how that nickname came about.
"Deathstroke indeed." Canary purred.
Superman coughed into his hand loud enough to drown out Red Arrow's laughter. "The book please."
A quick look at his watch told him it was 11:31. Nearly six hours since he'd gotten here and he'd been stuck watching a bunch of people talk and go in and out. It was also less than thirty minutes before the witching hour would strike and he'd probably be on the receiving end of a batarang. Fighting Batman wasn't the problem. The problem was that if you beat the dark knight, you'd have to be ready to face the rest of the family and if you were particularly unlucky, the man of steel himself.
Hopefully, his guy would decide he couldn't afford to miss out on a full eight hours of sleep and leave. Sighing, he looked around his surroundings. The dark, tall buildings with night lights and the bat signal in the sky made him feel like he was in a superhero movie cover. The only thing missing was that he wasn't standing on the tallest building, overlooking the entire city and preparing to jump off the edge.
"They do all do that don't they?" Red Arrow asked. "Need some originality in covers."
Naruto agreed. Back home, movies all seemed to have similar art and it made remembering which movies were which difficult. They weren't as popular as they seemed to be in their world, but they were around nonetheless.
Ra's ignored the chatter and focused on one specific part of the paragraphs. The one regarding his former student. Naruto didn't seem bothered about fighting Batman, but rather Superman, which was understandable. The information that he could beat the Dark Knight, despite knowing how many forms of martial arts he had at his disposal only made his candidacy for his successor more apparent.
He needed to talk to the man alone. But how?
11:50. Naruto felt the boredom induced tiredness leave him as he saw a group of neatly dressed people leave through the door, one of which was Cesare Toledo and his man, Martinez.
"Finally. I thought they'd never leave." He muttered to himself, pulling out the burner phone he'd bought and inserted the card he'd been issued by his employer's spokesman. A few seconds later, he got a message asking for his pin. He typed in '*5519' and waited before another message appeared.
"I hope whoever I'm working for doesn't want me to kill him right then and there. The meeting just ended, which means the area will be flooded with goons if I attack." Naruto said.
Superman hoped he wouldn't be told to kill anyone at all. Even though mafia bosses were a cancer to society, it wasn't anyone's right to kill someone else. That's what the justice system was for.
"If you're efficient, you can do it before anyone notices." Ra's replied curtly. Part of him wanted to see the blond in action. All they'd gotten so far were descriptions of what he could do, but they'd yet to see him act. Ra's needed to see how he moved, how he thought, where he struck, and how he behaved afterward.

Naruto groaned. He hated it when he was right. An R with a numeral was a code within a code. But the only thing that mattered were the numerals.
The letter 'R' in a command code was a command to kill. And an '890' meant via gunshot wound. Or to be more precise, he had to die via a wound from a gun which one of the other families were known for using. Meaning he had to steal a weapon that could easily be traced back to a specific family, locate Martinez and kill him before he reached his home which was less than a twenty-minute drive away and be out of Gotham before 1:00am for pickup.
Red Arrow whistled. "Quite the task they've asked of you. It would be one thing if you could just kill him but when there's a specific way to do it, the job is more complicated."
Naruto agreed. Back home he'd had similar missions. Times where he couldn't spam shadow clones and Rasengan but instead needed to take a specific approach.
"How would you know?" Batman asked, raising an eyebrow behind the cowl.
Red Arrow looked nervous but hid it quickly. "You know, I just assumed."
He got up, switching off the phone and cursing as he felt the oily rain water seep through his suit into his underwear. He made a few kicking motions to get blood back into his legs as his mind raced through ways to get this job done in time. He should have known something was up when he was being offered seven hundred thousand just to follow some guy around.
Not that he'd have turned down the job even if he knew everything.
"Shit for 700,000 I'd do a lot." Red Arrow commented.
"Me too." Naruto agreed.
Starfire leaned forward to look over at the blond. "Even have sexual relations with a woman forty years older than you?"
Naruto immediately thought of Tsunade. He knew that her appearance was an illusion, and she didn't really look like that anymore. She was an old woman but he would be lying if he said that he wouldn't have sex with her if given the opportunity.
Looking back at the orange skinned alien, he replied. "That ain't a problem. I'd do it for a bowl of ramen and some water."
Business hadn't been so good for mercenaries since vigilantes started popping up everywhere around the globe. You couldn't off a guy anymore without getting jumped by a costumed person or a whole team of them. Only the likes of Deathstroke, The Ravager, Deadshot and Sportsmaster were still in high demand. Most preferred to use criminal metahumans now.
"Wait." Naruto called out, stopping Batman. "Wouldn't vigilantes be just as illegal as mercenaries?"
Superman nodded. "We've been somewhat accepted by our government but the act of vigilantism is still illegal unless you've been cleared. Usually the best way around it is by joining the Justice League."
"So why doesn't everyone do that?"
This time, Batman answered. "Because we don't just accept anyone. We need to know what you're about, your M.O, prior convictions, and you even need to pass an assessment by the League to be considered."
An assessment?
"I guess that makes sense. Before you can be a shinobi back home, you go through the academy and also need to pass a field test and written test. I actually made some money on those tests." Naruto told them.
Canary raised an eyebrow. "You took people's tests for money?"
"Yeah. This one time, a guy paid me quite a bit to disguise myself and go take his test. I got 52% on it." He finished with a chuckle.
"Did he pass?" Diana asked curiously.
"Nope."
Naruto idly watched the members of separate families enter different cars, trying to identify each one. Toledo was out of the question. He watched the cars move, making sure to memorize Martinez's scent. Thank God for enhanced senses. He observed the driver of one, a rather frail looking man with a tattoo of a yellow flower on his hand. As he watched the cars get farther apart, something clicked.
'Yellow flower. Only family I know who tattoo that on their hands are that of Alessandro Luka. Not the wealthiest family. They often resort to using mass produced weapons and make their own bullets out of copper and tin to cut costs. The bullets usually have a yellowish tint due to the unremoved oils. It seems I've found my lucky victims.' Even better that they weren't looked upon very favorably by many families.
He decided he'd let the car gain a considerable distance from the rest before attacking. It had to be very quick too. Gunshots had a way of being deafeningly loud when you wanted them to be quieter. Pulling out his grappling gun, he fired and pulled himself to a higher point where he could run across rooftops without losing sight of them.
Ra's paid rapt attention, his eyes focusing on the video that had begun to play in real time for the audience. This would give him a rough idea if Naruto was League of Shadows material or not. He couldn't be hasty however, this was just one universe out of countless others and his skills may be better or worse than what he'd see.
His intrigue didn't go unnoticed as Batman had continued to keep him in his sights. With Ra's one could never be too careful.
"You know you're being watched right?" Canary whispered to him as she watched him on the screen.
"Yeah. The older guy and Green Arrow. Arrow, I can understand but Al Ghul? Not a clue. Thing is, all Green Arrow has to do is ask me to stop being cozy with you and I'm gonna say no."
Dinah was glad she wasn't drinking anything as she would most likely have spit it out. Even Diana, who was still rather frustrated with both herself and the others couldn't help but quirk her lips up at the young man's words. This kind of humor would surely be popular back in the watchtower among the others.
Batman hoped that wouldn't come to pass. He couldn't imagine what life up there would be like with Naruto and Flash hanging out.
Stopping a few meters ahead of the car, he took out a small gun, loaded it with a small pellet the size of a sharp stone and took aim for the front tire. Taking a deep breath, he fired. His shot hit home, perforating the tire and causing the car to swerve as momentum forced it ahead. Eventually, its passengers alighted to check what was wrong.
' Well, let's get to work.' Naruto thought, reaching for a smoke pellet as he approached the arguing group. They'd clearly come to the conclusion that the car didn't drive over a stray nail or sharp stone as they started to reach for their weapons while one went to the trunk to take a spare tire. That one had to go first. As the man opened the boot and leaned in, Naruto tossed the pellet and in a burst of speed, appeared behind the swiftly withdrawing man and stabbed into a spot on his neck.
"Efficient." Ra's commented appraisingly.
Unfortunately, he'd missed where he'd been intending to strike and rather than go down, the man cried out in pain before falling silent due to a second attempt which thankfully struck true. ' Not like it matters much,' Naruto thought sourly as he heard the others yelling and the click of safeties being turned off. ' The cat's out of the bag. Now, it's just to deal with them and hope the rest of their associates don't become altruistic enough to turn around and help. Or that Batman has more important things to worry about than a mafia gunfight.' With a reluctant sigh, he focused on the rest, calculating who had to go next.
"I doubt it." Canary pointed out. "If there's crime, you can be sure Batman will show up to regulate."
"Well, he did say Batman wasn't an issue. Superman was. It's probably more of an inconvenience if he shows up." Naruto said before looking over at the man. "No offense."
Superman felt half glad that he was seen as a threat since most people up in the Watchtower called him a 'boy scout' after having heard Lois call him that once. Even the villains had begun to treat him differently after catching wind of that name.
"You would be more imposing if you frowned a bit more." Red Arrow advised, knowing what the man was probably thinking.
The choice was made for him when one; the driver spotted his form in the smoke and fired at him. ' Shit.' Naruto cursed as he twisted his form left, dodging a bullet that would have slammed into his chest. Swiftly drawing and flicking a collapsible blade and cursing himself for not having taken something better, he rushed towards the man, jerking his head sideways to let another bullet whiz past his ear and when he reached an acceptable distance, swung the blade, taking off the man's shooting arm. Before he could scream, Naruto swung again, this time slicing through his windpipe.
Naruto quickly turned away from the swiftly dying man to look at the rest. The sounds had alerted them fully to what was happening and they'd probably start shooting anything that didn't look like it was wearing a suit. It didn't help that the smoke was clearing already. Picking another one; this time a woman as his next target, he rushed at her only to jump back as two bullets were fired at him.
They'd already gathered together and now, they'd seen him. He quickly rushed and crouched at the back of the car. He was confident in his ability to dodge bullets but a bullet storm wasn't something he'd tested his reflexes against nor was he interested in doing so. But pinned down or not, this couldn't continue like this. Every shot fired increased the chances of another group or the GCPD or worse, Batman showing up.
"Are you fast enough to dodge bullets?" Starfire asked.
"If what I'm seeing is accurate then yes. Easily. This version of me moves a bit like me but toned down quite a bit." Naruto clarified.
Batman added that to his mental profile, as did his former master.
Taking a few deep breaths, he rushed to the nearest person on the left who happened to be coming to the back and before the man could squeeze the trigger, Naruto jerked to the side in case of the man firing due to shock and swung the blade again, missing the windpipe but severing a major vessel. Three down, apparently another two more to go.
Naruto weaved to the side, dodging a bullet fired by the woman. Now that he got a good look at her, he noticed how large she was. ' I doubt a single swing's going to get the job done this time.' Naruto thought to himself. His blade didn't have the length, weight or curvature needed to make the cut needed to do to her as he did to her comrades. The sword was made in a way that it would be most effective when swung in a chopping motion.
She'd clearly realized the futility of using guns on him as she tossed hers to the side and charged him. Not very smart of her but desperation and fear tended to remove many brain cells.
"Bad idea." Red Arrow muttered. Even if the brain cells were now missing, her instincts should've screamed at her that this was a bad idea.
Diana on the other hand couldn't help but feel both impressed and dismayed at the woman's choice. On one hand, she was willing to get up close and personal to take care of the issue, on the other hand she should know this wouldn't end well.
Naruto looked down onto his shoulder. "Encore performance says he knocks her out with a kick to the head."
Canary looked at the woman and hummed. "I'll take that bet. He'll stab her to finish it. If I'm right you're getting tied to the bed." She said with a wicked smile. Naruto wasn't sure if that was directed at him or her ex but he was quick to accept.
Naruto sidestepped the woman as she launched a rather impressive hook at him. "It'd be easier for you if you just stopped fighting, you know? I'll knock you out, do my job and be long gone by the time you wake up." The woman didn't acknowledge his words as she continued swung her fist for an uppercut. Naruto leaned backwards to dodge and switching his handling to a reverse grip, swung upwards too and dealt her a cut on her wrist that rendered her hand useless. She screamed in pain and shouted some things at him in Italian. How sad, he didn't understand any Italian beyond Capiche, Merda, Cazzo and Mario Kart.
Superman let out a cough to cover up a laugh. He always said jokes at the expense of someone's nationality were wrong but even he couldn't contain himself with that last one.
The woman jumped back, cradling her bleeding wrist with the other good hand. Naruto didn't give her time to recover as he rushed at her again; this time, gripping his blade with both hands to deliver a killing blow. The woman had seen it coming and raised both arms to block his strike. Unfortunately for her, it had been a feint. Naruto thrust forward and stabbed her in the chest. He'd probably nicked a lung as he heard the sound of air leaving from the stab wound when he pulled out the blade.
"Called it." Dinah sang cheerfully.
Naruto exhaled. Well, it wouldn't be the first time a woman had him tied up. It was, however, the first time he was excited about the prospect. Canary had proven to be a very enthusiastic lover. Healing factor aside, his hips were still sore.
' And then there was one.' Naruto thought, picking up the woman's gun and turning to search for the last member who'd either lost his nerve and fled or was waiting for an opportune time to attack, never minding that his colleague was getting butchered.
He stifled a sneeze as he stalked towards the car. This rain still hadn't subsided one bit. At this rate, he'd get pneumonia before getting paid. On the upside, the rain washed off all the blood on his person. On the downside, rain also made scent trails fade faster. Fuck. He'd have to get this done quickly.
Halfway through, he heard a click and weaved out of the way of a bullet that had been fired at him from his right. Turning to face the direction of the shot, he saw the horrified expression of the last man who'd been hiding in an alley. Apparently, that sneak attack was his only idea and it had obviously failed. The man shakily stood to full height and aimed his gun at him again. "S-stay back! Sei un mostro! I'll kill you! I will!"
Naruto rolled his eyes underneath his mask. "Your friends tried something cleverer than hiding and failed. You think you'll be the one to finish the job? Alright then. Feel free to try. But the moment you start shooting, I'll return the favor."
"Do you have to intimidate him more than he is?" Superman asked with a disapproving frown.
Naruto shrugged. "That's not me. But look on the upside, he's giving him an out. He's warned him what will happen if he shoots. I think that's a pretty decent thing to do."
The blond was confident that the man would see it his way. He was scared, and likely had a family. Self preservation would surely win. It wasn't like his comrades were alive to tell of his cowardice after all.
He had to admit though, the guy looked pretty miserable. The rain had given him a drab appearance contrary to the corporate mobster look he'd been spotting earlier. His eyes were bloodshot, his hands were shaking uncontrollably whether from cold, fear or both and his skin was nearly as pale as a corpse. All that coupled with the knowledge that his life would end in a dark, dumpster filled alley in the middle of a rainy night made for a very miserable looking man. Naruto was almost tempted to laugh, pat the man on the back and give him a bit of money to charter a bus home. Almost.
The man had clearly made his decision as he pulled the trigger. Naruto swung his blade, deflecting a bullet, weaved out of the other and raised his blade to deflect one headed for his neck. He was prepared to dodge or deflect more when he heard the clicking of an empty gun. The man had realized it too considering he paled even more and his breathing became erratic.
In his panic, tossed the gun at Naruto and took to his heels. Naruto caught the gun and gave it a quick look. It hadn't run out of ammunition, it had jammed. Guess that's what you get when you're a member of a family too broke or cheap to purchase quality firearms and well made ammunition.
"What did they think would happen?" Diana asked. "The successful crime families have the best equipment and spare no expense."
Superman agreed. "Some families need the funds. This is one of the downsides, but it makes our jobs easier at least."
"It also makes murderers job's easier." Green Arrow spat, finally speaking up since he'd been brought back.
Naruto looked affronted at the accusation. He hadn't murdered anyone in his life. Kakuzu didn't count since Kakashi had finished him off.
"Besides your will to live and masculinity, I haven't murdered anything."
"Hold me back Red." Green Arrow said angrily as he struggled against the invisible bindings that held him in place.
Red Arrow just closed his eyes and sighed. Even if he could move, what exactly could the archer do to win? In the end, he simply held a hand out and half heartedly told him to calm down.
Naruto chuckled as he followed the man. Just as he was about to reach the main road, Naruto raised his gun and aimed for the man's head. He was about to fire when the man let loose a pained scream and fell clutching his neck which had been pierced by a..bolt?
Naruto blinked as he got a good look at what had felled the man. It was actually a bolt. "We live in an age where people can launch supersonic projectiles from handheld contraptions, stuff a chimney's worth of smoke into a tablet, fly an invisible jet, shoot lasers from their eyes and someone's still running around with a crossbow?"
"Huntress would take offense to that." Diana said out loud.
Ra's agreed the tool was outdated in the modern age but it was still effective. Even some of his own shadows used them to this day. It was simply about how well you could hit your shots. If you were accurate, it didn't matter if it was a handgun, laser, or an antique spear.
"Wait. Who shoots lasers from their eyes?" Naruto asked, looking around the room.
Superman raised his hand when everyone looked his way.
"Some guys have all the luck." Naruto pouted.
The man of steel wanted to retort with how he'd slept with beautiful women across different universes but he'd rather not get that conversation started. Batman seemed to be losing his patience as it was and he didn't need another lecture.
"Well, you've got to appreciate the classics as well. Beauty in simplicity, remember your roots and all that." A feminine voice spoke from above him. Naruto turned to the direction of the voice and swallowed.
"I wouldn't say I understand simplicity but I definitely understand beauty now." Naruto responded and nearly smacked himself for the lame response. He was a badass mercenary, not some spy movie protagonist who used reworded versions of the same pickup line. Not that he'd take it back. The woman was one heck of a looker.
She may have chosen the look of a Victorian era vampire hunter to work with but he wasn't complaining. That black and purple suit with white lines denoting a cross did wonders for her curves and abs, the cape lent her an air of mystery and the crossbow in her right hand only seemed to make her more attractive. Blue eyes, nice. The black hair may have been dampened by the rain but it didn't look any less beautiful. He was more into redheads himself and the only black haired woman he felt very attracted to was Wonder Woman but he decided he'd be adding someone else to the list.
Diana felt a boost to her already impressive confidence. In a somewhat petty way, she felt superior to the blond that she had been mentioned repeatedly. She quickly stomped those feelings however, she was an Amazonian warrior not a petty mean girl like in the movies.
"So is Huntress one of yours?" She asked the League.
"She is." Wonder Woman replied. "She's…more of a lone act. Reliable though."
And a liability Batman thought to himself. He of course knew of the woman's vendetta against Mandragora, that was why she was allowed access to the League. To be able to keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't take the law into her own hands.
"Unafraid to kill someone too it seems." Red Arrow added. The bolt had pierced the man's neck and no one was talking about it. Was it because it was a different universe? The Canary chapter had proven some events had played out the same, what about this one?
"She won't be killing anyone." Batman assured.
He also had a feeling he'd seen or at least heard of her. One of his contacts in Sicily told him of people turning up severely injured or dead via crossbow bolts. He'd received a few pictures and found each injury to be too small for the standard one. As if they'd been caused by a bolt scaled down to fit a crossbow small and light enough to fit in a single hand.
The locals had reported sightings of some crazy lady dressed in a black and purple themed suit with a cape running around and shooting people with a crossbow. They'd taken to calling her the Huntress. And this woman checked out everything he'd heard and seen. Wonderful.
She'd clearly caught him checking her out as she gave him a smirk that didn't reach her eyes. Probably irritated because it was what she was expecting or just unsure of whether to be flattered or not. If she didn't want people staring at her, she'd have taken to wearing more bulky, covering clothes. Maybe she didn't like it because he wasn't a superhero. He heard rumors of how they were glorified swingers too.
Superman sputtered in indignation at the accusation. "We're not swingers!"
Naruto chuckled. "Pretty defensive there."
"Canary. Please tell him." He ordered, hoping someone would back him up.
Diana sighed. "You're asking the girl who had sec with another man in front of her ex to vouch for that? If anything she's the worst person to ask."
"The Watchtower is not a swingers club." He said gruffly. He'd been to one before as part of an infiltration, and though it came close with how everyone was in costume, it was still a long shot from being comparable to the league.
"A charmer, are you? Now if you're done ogling me, would you mind letting me know why you attacked these people?" The woman asked. Naruto noted that she had a slight Italian accent. Good to know.
"I hate to say it but I do mind," Naruto responded, amusedly watching as she frowned at him. "Besides, what does it matter why? I could have just felt like sharpening my skills and picked out an unlucky group of cruising friends."
"Friends don't put on a three piece suit and take guns to cruise around Gotham in the middle of the night," She shot back, annoyed. "And a guy looking to sharpen his skills doesn't spend hours waiting to attack a random group of 'friends' after they leave a spot the Sicilian Mafia had a meeting in."
Naruto frowned, she'd been watching him? How? He'd surveyed the area through the video and had the best spot around.
"If she gets in your head you'll be at a disadvantage." Red Arrow told him. "You need to take control of the conversation."
"I believe in myself. If there's something I'm good at, it's getting under people's skin." He said with a mischievous smirk.
Diana mumbled something that sounded like 'and their pants' but he couldn't be quite sure about that.
It was Naruto's turn to frown. She'd been watching him? How? He'd selected a spot where anyone hiding at a higher spot would cast a shadow and he was sure he'd developed his sixth sense well enough to at least feel when he was being watched. A small part in him took satisfaction in knowing he'd irritated someone just as Martinez and Co. had irritated him.
"Nevermind that," He waved dismissively. "I'm more curious as to what the Huntress happens to be searching for here. I know Gotham's fucked up but I doubt vampires are here yet."
Naruto silently snickered as he saw her frown deepen as she muttered 'Vampires?'. She must have missed out on every vampire movie, book and game if she didn't get it. The fact that he knew who she was probably hadn't registered or it didn't surprise her as much as he thought it would.
"But if you're worried about being found out, don't worry," He snickered. "You know, I'm something of a hunter myself."
"I'm no vampire hunter, my friend. I hunt a different kind of prey," She started. "Prey you've taken from me."
"So she's after them too." Naruto muttered. "Why though? Wouldn't the people I work for know the enemies they've made?"
"Mafia families are enemies of everyone. It would be impossible to list all the enemies." Canary informed him.
That was true, he supposed.
"There's also the fact that nobody would expect her to show up. The family is large, so who would anticipate it happening to them? People feel like they're invincible." Superman added.
"Until they're pierced in the neck with a bolt." Naruto finished.
"Err, I have no idea why you say prey but I doubt it's anything good," Naruto said, suddenly feeling uncomfortable. "Besides, I took care of them for you. Unclogged your schedule. You're welcome."
"Who hired you to kill them?" Huntress asked.
"I can't tell you that. Sorry," Naruto responded, shaking his head. "Client confidentiality. Besides, why does it matter? It doesn't seem like you planned on delivering a bowl of pasta to them either."
"All the Italian stereotypes are not helping sway her into not attacking." Diana said, though she didn't bother to hide the grin on her face. She really needed him in the League. His sense of humor was something she was sure she'd enjoy. As long as it wasn't directed at her.
Naruto raised his hands in mock surrender. "Again, I'm not the one doing it. Truth be told, I'm not even sure what stereotypes exist about Italians. That place doesn't exist in my world."
He supposed it would be the same as the people who called those from Konoha tree huggers. It didn't bother him that much but some people really took offense to it.
Huntress seemed ready to burn a hole in his head. "I was going to interrogate them."
"Ah, you're welcome?" Naruto asked. He had a feeling she was coming to the wrong conclusion as to why he'd killed them.
"But you killed them."
"What can I say, except you're welcome."
Her glare turned murderous. "I knew Toledo and Mandragora suspected them of being the culprits, but to send someone to kill Maria's children.."
Naruto desperately wanted to look at his watch to be sure Martinez wasn't already taking off his tie on his couch but he had a feeling the woman was waiting for an opening to attack him.
"If he can still use clones, why not make a few while he checks?" Red Arrow wondered.
"This is another universe. It's not connected to the other ones we've read about. For all we know he might be powerless." Batman replied. He doubted it but there was also the chance he was an augmented human like Deathstroke.
Naruto knew that was a possibility but something told him that wouldn't be the case. He wouldn't be a mercenary/assassin if he was just a regular dude. There had to be something more to him than they had read about so far.
Not that it mattered as the woman quickly fired a bolt at him which he caught in one hand. Undeterred, she launched herself at him, starting off with a feign for his face. Naruto weaved out of its path only to catch her fist as it was aimed for the side of his head. Pulling her closer, he jabbed her in the elbow and kneed her in the gut.
As she doubled over with shaking arms, Naruto raised his left hand to chop her in the neck and knock her out only to jerk back as she lashed out with a knee aimed at his groin. That was a bit too much. As he stopped moving, he raised his hand to catch another bolt flying for his chest and doubled back as she came in with another knee to the groin, prompting him to close his legs. As he did, she lashed out with the other, kicking him at the back of his knee causing him to stumble.
"Didn't hold back against her, did you?" Red Arrow questioned. He had fought women before, but he still tried to reel it in slightly.
Naruto was quick to shake his head. "Man or woman, you can't take anyone lightly. In my world, holding back like that based on their sex is asking to get killed."
Ra's smirked. That was just what he wanted to hear. No qualms about who he fought, that was a trait many men found themselves lacking. Even Batman had hindered himself when facing off against his daughter. But Naruto, he had the eyes of a man who would crush anyone regardless of what they were.
Deciding to capitalize on his momentary imbalance, Huntress thrust with another elbow aimed for the side where his jaw and ear met. He quickly raised his right palm to block and grabbing her by the elbow, he punched her in the ribs and kicked her legs out from under her. Using the moment of her fall, he released her elbow and punched her in the gut.
As she fell to her knees gasping for air, Naruto stepped back and prepared himself. He should have learnt by now not to underestimate women regardless of whether they looked like they belonged on the catwalk or a lingerie advert poster. His brief run in with the Demon Head's daughter had taught him that much.
She seemed to regain herself as she swiftly got back to her feet and glared at him. "You're going to tell me what Toledo or Mandragora told you before asking you to kill them or we won't be leaving here at all."
Naruto sweatdropped. Usually you made demands when you were in a position of strength, not doubled over on the ground.
"This is the same as asking someone if they want some more in a fight that you're losing." He said with a shake of his head.
Some of the readers chuckled. Even Green Arrow, but he quickly settled his face into a frown once more. He wouldn't let his nemesis get a laugh out of him.
"I had that happen once." Superman said cheerfully. "A bank robber was shooting at me and asked if I'd had enough once he emptied a clip. I didn't have a scratch on me. What about you Batman?"
The caped crusader stared blankly at the man of steel. "Not once."
"I don't know what Mandalore and Tornado suspected them of doing but I assure you I wasn't sent to kill them," Naruto began slowly. "So if it's not too much trouble, you can continue your search, I can be on my way an-"
He was interrupted by the sounds of a fast approaching car and turned to see two approaching with one approaching like the driver intended to hit him. Quickly jumping out of the way, he had to launch his body further to avoid the bullets fired at him.
"You'll die tonight, Vigilare!" Someone from one of the cars shouted. Whether at him or the woman who'd already jumped into action and fired a bolt at a tire, he didn't know. He raised the gun in his hand at the head of someone who had a window open; probably the shooter and squeezed the trigger. The man's head jerked back as a hole the size of a penny was made on its side.
He brought out his trusty, probably beginning to get rusty blade and flicked it to rigidity. Firing another round at the window of the car which had had its tire punctured by the bolt, he rushed towards it and right as another person got out, thrust the blade forward into the unfortunate man's neck. Drawing the dying man closer, he swung around to face the assailants behind him.
Just as Naruto did so, the body began to jerk as the bullets meant for him began to slam into the dying man's form. If he wasn't dead before, he was undoubtedly dead now.
"You need to take better care of your equipment." Diana chastised. "One's weapons are an extension of themselves. "Use them carefully. Use leads to wear, tear, and rust. As you can see in your case."
Naruto and Canary raised their right eyebrows at the woman. "I mean, they were designed to be used."
"Wonder Woman, we've been over this." Superman began as if explaining to a child. "Not everyone's weapons are blessed by a goddess. We can simply buy another weapon exactly the same as the one we use."
The way the black haired woman turned away so as to not reply was one of the most attractive things the blond had seen. Diana really was on another level in terms of beauty compared to the woman back home. Women like her, women that beautiful would make him suicidal if she ever left him.
With a heave, Naruto launched the corpse off his blade towards the men firing at him. As they parted so as not to have it collide with them, Naruto rushed at them. There wasn't time anymore. Martinez was probably saying home sweet home at this moment.
The moment Naruto reached the first person, he swung the blade in a wide arc, cutting his abdomen open and twirled the blade to face downwards before thrusting into the cut area, stabbing into his liver. As the first person went down, Naruto moved on to the second.
He tilted his head left, dodging a round that would have taken off his ear, raised his gun and fired twice. The first hit his target lower than he'd aimed, consequently missing a lung. Damnit. The second hit him in the center of his chest. Hopefully going through the windpipe. He moved on to the third.
"So we know you're not that good with a gun. Blades seem to be more attuned to you in this world." Canary pointed out. She wasn't a great shot herself but then again, her power didn't require her to use a handgun.
"It shows he's been trained to assassinate with his hands rather than a firearm." Ra's analyzed. "His movements are reminiscent of some of my shadows."
No one tried to say otherwise.
Or he would have if the man hadn't been felled by a bolt to the neck. He turned to look for the Huntress. Apparently, she hadn't been having as easy a time as he had. She'd been shooting at those she could while behind a cover. Six were gone now, four more to go. And those four were more interested in searching for the hiding vigilante than killing him. How insulting.
He fired a round into the neck of the nearest one to remind the others and was about to release another one when he heard a clicking sound.
This time, the gun hadn't jammed. Shit.
Naruto jumped to the side as bullets passed where he'd been standing. He tossed the now useless gun at one of them, nailing him in the head and rushed for cover. One man screamed as a bolt went into his left arm. Oblivious of the man's misfortune, Naruto reached into a pouch for another smoke pellet and upon finding one, tossed it across the car to explode directly in front of his attackers.
"That wasn't a good move." Naruto muttered.
Usually, providing smoke as a cover was a good idea when one was by themselves, but with a partner, a reluctant one at that, it was a bad move.
"Now she won't be able to see where everyone is. She could easily hit you by accident." Batman pointed out.
Naruto shook his head. "I just won't get hit. It's that simple."
Red Arrow rolled his eyes and tapped the side of his head with a finger. "I should try that the next time I'm out on a job."
Huntress cursed angrily as a cloud of smoke engulfed the area around her and the sounds of gunshots filled her ears. If this guy felt he fought better when under the cover of smoke, that was his business but she couldn't see anything. Choosing to stay behind the cover until the cloud cleared enough to see through, she muttered a quick prayer for her momentary partner in arms.
Naruto snuck through the cloud, trying to make out a shape to attack. In hindsight, he should have checked the colours of each pellet before tossing them. One didn't last when he wanted it to, the other gave a cloud a lot thicker than he wanted it to be. Not that it mattered. Smoke pellets were less effective in rain anyways.
The sounds of gunshots had stopped but from the coughing he heard, they hadn't killed each other off. He stalked towards the closest source and stabbed him in the neck. To the man's surprise, he accidentally fired off another round, alerting the rest. Wonderful.
Green Arrow sneered. "I can see why you weren't on the premier assassin list."
Ra's had to agree with the archer for the first time. This Naruto was certainly making too many mistakes to be a trained assassin. He had the fundamentals down, but mistakes like this could cost him his life. The League of Shadows didn't tolerate this kind of work.
Still, he reminded himself this was a different version. If the comments he'd made up until now were an indication, his mind was far more attuned for this work than his book counterpart.
The smoke cloud was wearing off too. He could see shapes easier. The Huntress could too as out of the corner of his eye, he saw her take aim at one before letting off a bolt that lodged itself in his eye. Ouch.
Come to think of it, another did die in the smoke screen. Hurray for real life friendly fire. Three to go. Or wait, make that two. One had run off.
Naruto rushed towards the other who had seen him and swung his blade, severing his hand before he could fire. He swung the blade upwards, cutting into his chest and neck. He grabbed the man before he could fall and pushed his body towards the last. As he jumped out of the way of his fallen comrade, he straightened himself to see Naruto rushing towards him with the blade aimed for his heart.
"And then there was one." Naruto said to himself, yanking his blade out of the dead man's chest and cleaning it on the jacket of his expensive looking suit. He turned to see Huntress approaching him and grinned.
"Gonna have to use that line when I'm back home." Naruto grinned.
"Make sure there really is only one." Diana advised. "If your people have powers, it wouldn't be too hard to get caught off guard."
Red Arrow nodded. "Otherwise you'll get stomped out by one person like that guy you told us about."
"Once I come to power I'm going to find out exactly what he did to deserve that."
"We're like action movie protagonists. One's a badass with a katana, the other's a badass with a gun."
"You're not using a Katana," Huntress retorted. "And this is a crossbow."
"Same concept." Naruto shrugged. "I wish we could discuss our joint badassery more but there's one guy left."
"One? Where-oof"
Naruto kicked her away as the last one finally came out of nowhere to launch a similar sneak attack as the last guy in the first group. Was this some mafia tactic they taught people destined to be the last in a fight?
Naruto rushed at the man right as he fired. Due to missing Huntress, the bullet hit one of the cars behind them. Or to be more specific, the gas tank. Shit.
"Boom." Batman muttered to himself.
The picture in front of them showed the car burst into a ball of flames, taking everything in its range with it.
"How haven't you made it there yet Batman?" Oliver asked, befuddled. "Usually you're on the scene if you catch someone jaywalking."
Starfire nodded in agreement, as a memory came to mind. "This is true. Robin told me about one incident."
Everyone leaned forward in their seats, wanting to know what this incident was. Even Superman himself was apparently unaware of this.
"Robin told me that someone was jaywalking and Batman came down on them hard. You fractured the man's leg and told him to run off afterward." She said in a tone that was far too innocent.
Naruto blinked, this man was a hero?
"You fractured a man's leg and told him to run off?" He asked.
Batman looked at him, then to the League before turning his attention back to the book.
Naruto had reached the man and sliced his neck open when the car exploded into a fireball. How? What kind of car used an engine that pressurized fuel enough for it to detonate with a spark? Where was Huntress? Was she safe? Was she alright?
Apparently, she'd been caught in the explosion as well and got knocked out. Her cloak had caught on fire but the rain was quick to put it out. The car would be a different story. Gasoline fires required more than rainwater to put out.
Collapsing the blade, Naruto sighed as he looked at the mess around him. He could hear sirens in the distance too. He turned to look at the unconscious woman, debating on whether or not to leave her and hope Batman or some good Samaritan cane to pick her up. Superhero or not, Vigilantism was still illegal so she'd be spending the night unmasked and in a prison cell unless someone came to bail her out or Batman came for her first.
Not to mention she was an attractive woman and it wouldn't do if some people who came to scavenge from the dead decided to have a little fun before making off with their loot.
"Deathstroke wouldn't be having this debate." Naruto grumbled as he picked up the unconscious woman and reached for his grappling gun.
"There's that name again. I wonder if we'll see him." Naruto said out loud.
"For your sake, I hope not." Superman said in a worried tone. "That man is dangerous. Even without powers he's one of the most high profile assassins. If he's after you, he'll get you."
Those words were enough to cause some discomfort among those who had faced the man before. Naruto however wondered how he would fare against a man of his caliber. Augmented human or not, Naruto had fought a goddess. A freakishly attractive goddess that had been stumped by a harem of half naked men but a goddess nonetheless.
He really hoped the man would show up in the story.
After reaching a considerable distance from the mess, Naruto dropped the Huntress, leaned her against a wall, bound her hands and sat down on top of a small radiator opposite her.
He looked at his watch and groaned. 2:22. Martinez was long gone. The seven hundred thousand was gone and he was left with an unconscious woman, probably nine deaths on his conscience and a potential face-to-face with Batman.
"Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong" Naruto groaned, feeling just as bad about losing 700k as his counterpart.
Diana smiled. "Seems like that law applies no matter what universe one is from."
"Seems that way."
The rain still hadn't subsided. Damn. His underwear felt thoroughly soaked now and he had a feeling he'd have to wash blood off it too. So much for going to the public washing place.
'I wouldn't be in this mess if it weren't for you.' Naruto thought angrily as he stared at the woman. 'Maybe I'll get my money's worth off your body or give a ransom for your return or turn you into Mandragora. He'd be happy to see his subordinates' killer brought to him. Sure I killed most of them but he won't know that.'
He stared at her, running through his options of what to do with her. The first option was out of the question. If Batman or another superhero caught him in the act, he was fucked. He'd be making an instant enemy of pretty much every costumed good guy.
Naruto found it a little disturbing that he had even considered that an option. Even where he was from that was an offense almost no one would tolerate. Even if he was doing it to make up for money lost.
"The League would definitely be on the case." Superman concluded. "Assuming she is part of the League here."
Canary pinched his side. "I hope those thoughts have never crossed your mind. The only reason he isn't doing it is because of Batman and the heroes. Otherwise it seems he would do it."
"Believe me Canary. I'm a saint" he brought his hands together in faux prayer.
He conveniently omitted telling her about the time he posed as Sasuke to try to land a kiss from Sakura.
Same with the second.
The third was the most likely but he didn't trust Mafia to simply let him go afterwards and he didn't enjoy killing when he wouldn't make profit out of it.
A thought crossed his mind and he chose to act on it. He reached for her face and pulled up her mask. As he got a good look at her face, his eyes widened and he pulled it back down.
That. Explained. Everything.
He'd heard of the Bertinelli Murder. Franco, Pino and Maria Bertinelli had been murdered in their own home while having dinner, the former being an associate of Stefano Mandragora who had ordered their deaths by an unknown gunman who for some reason, chose to spare their eight year old daughter, Helena.
It explained why Huntress seemed to mainly target anyone who was even loosely related to the Mafia. She was trying to get vengeance. Odd world. Next thing you know, Bruce Wayne, orphaned eight year old, turns out to be Batman in order to avenge his parents.
Naruto looked over at Batman who had refused to look up from the book. The others however, weren't as stoic as the man.
Superman had a terrible poker face and Naruto knew his other had managed to be spot on.
"Don't worry you don't exist in my world so the info is useless." He reassured the man. He would be sure to use the man's name if he annoyed him though.
Nah, the man probably wanted to get back at criminals for tormenting him when he was a homeless orphan or something. No billionaire would decide instead to head out and risk his life everyday rather than live it up with his dead parent's billions.
He was broken out of his thoughts by the sound of groaning. Ah, the lady was waking up.
"If you get knocked out everytime something catches fire, I'm surprised you're still alive after constantly fighting a Mafia popularly known for using Molotov cocktails." His tone came off as a lot more condescending than he'd intended but whatever.
"It-it's just a movie thing. Molotov is a Russian name." She groaned out, quickly regaining lucidity. She tried to rub her head to no avail. Upon looking up, she saw her hands were bound. Angrily, she turned back to him. "What is this?"
"Why do people ask that?" Canary wondered, having experienced that multiple times. "Just look down and you'll get your answer."
"Probably to stall while they try to figure a way to get loose." Red Arrow replied. It never worked but points for trying he supposed.
Naruto looked at Green Arrow who was still glaring at him and smiled widely. "Look. You and Huntress have something in common."
The man's face almost turned pink with rage and he once again demanded Red Arrow hold him back for whatever reason.
"Isn't it obvious? Your hands are bound. Or did you think we were instant friends just because we fought together?" He asked.
"What now? You're planning on taking me to Mandragora or killing me?" She hissed at him.
"Oh, for fuck's sake. I've never even met Mandragon or whatever it is. My only quarrell is with you, Huntress."
"Me?" The Huntress blinked. She was sure she'd never met him before. Someone dressed as peculiarly as him would be difficult to forget. He seemed to have Deathstroke as a role model considering he followed the man's orange and black scheme without the mail. Except where Deathstroke wore bulky armour, this man simply wore a suit similar to most male heroes she'd met with armoured bits at his vitals.
An image of both Naruto and Deathstroke appeared on screen and the blond had to admit, he did look like an imitation.
"Looks like someone hired Deathstroke off of Wish." Superman quipped. Everyone burst into laughter. Naruto didn't know what that meant but he knew he'd been insulted somehow.
"That's AliExpress Deathstroke." Red Arrow piled on, getting even more laughs.
Starfire looked around the room and wanted to add her own. "It looks like someone said they wanted Deathstroke but we're told they had Deathstroke at home."
Naruto was the only person not laughing among the readers. He stared blankly at Batman who wasn't trying to hide his smirk of amusement.
"Are you finished or are you done?"
Cutting the boy some slack, Batman continued.
"Your delaying me caused over half a million dollars to slip out of my hands. It was so close and I lost it for no reason aside from you deciding not to be reasonable." Naruto growled at her. He wanted nothing more than to scream but he didn't want any vigilantes being alerted.
Huntress stayed silent. Even if she felt sorry for it, she doubted a simple apology would placate him.
'Maybe I'll get compensation if I deliver the person responsible for causing me to fail. Oh, what am I saying? They won't give me shit. No harm in trying though.' Naruto pondered as he brought out the phone, never taking his eyes off the vigilante. When he finally got the phone on, he was about to enter his code when he noticed a MN alphanumeric series
HSCNO-5_286-KZ*
"That can't be good." One of the arrows commented.
Batman mentally went over all the codes he was familiar with but this one was foreign to him. If the surprised look on the blonds face was any indication though, it couldn't be good.
Naruto stared at the screen in disbelief. Hscno? He knew they'd be pissed about him not getting the job done but not so much that they'd deliver his location to the cleaning house. From the coordinates shown on the last two, the rest of the numbers were barred but he knew the general location to be about a place owned by the Mafia. Sensational.
'Maybe they never even planned for me to succeed. Maybe they just wanted to use me as bait to fish out the person who'd been on the Mafia's ass for a while.' Naruto thought annoyedly. His night seemed to only get worse. Nine lives, lost profit, a bound vigilante and the Mafia as well as his anonymous employers on his ass.
In hindsight, he should have known better than to trust people who offered him seven hundred thousand just to follow one guy around. People would never try doing this shit to Deathstroke. No doubt they'd been monitoring him somehow since his intercepting that family.
"Is it just me or does he have some kind of inferiority complex comparing himself to Deathstroke." Naruto asked.
"Definitely." The Dark Knight agreed. "It's to be expected among mercenaries."
Naruto wondered if the hunters back in his world ever compared themselves to people like Kisame or Zabuza before they defected. Knowing that they were second rate assassins at best.
"He is right though." Superman began. "No one would think to do this to Deathstroke. Maybe you need to rebrand yourself. Otherwise this will probably keep happening."
Naruto sighed. "I hope he considers it." He really didn't want to be the butt of the jokes anymore.
Naruto turned off the phone and tossed it to the side. Not that it would help. He could shatter the phone but so long as the card was intact, it would continue to transmit his location and he had neither the time or equipment to destroy it.
"Can't you just step on it?" Starfire asked.
She was ignored.
Turning back to look at the Huntress, he thought of another option. Someone who'd been on their asses would no doubt know a lot about them. And he had a feeling he'd be seeing them often in his life. Leaving her and turning her in were no longer options.
"Well, it appears we have a common enemy at the moment." Naruto grinned at the woman. Huntress stared at him, wondering what he was talking about.
"What?" She asked.
"To put it shortly, my employers have allied with your people and are now chasing after us both. I barely know anything about the Mafia, you know a lot about them. I'm sure you know that that means.
So that's why the chapter was called reluctant ally. Naruto knew things wouldn't run smoothly, at least not at first. They did have something going for them though, they hadn't been life long enemies.
"Just chat her up and you'll be fine." Canary told him kindly.
Diana, not wanting to see them snuggle up further, spoke up. "He killed her target, bound her up, and considered having his way with her to make up for profits. I'm not sure they'll see eye to eye just yet."
"What?" She asked again. Naruto rolled his eyes.
"You'll be coming with me. Unless you fancy relaxing here until Batman or the people coming here find you." Naruto said, causing her to frown.
"You've brought your enemies down on us both. What makes you think I'll want to follow you?" She shot back
"Since you're the reason we're in this mess, you don't deserve to complain," Naruto scowled at her. "And you seem to think I was asking if you wanted to come with me."
He swiftly struck a nerve bundle in the vigilante's neck, causing her eyes to roll up as she fell unconscious. Naruto picked her up and looked around, wondering the safest way to go.
"Assertive, if a little rapey." Superman commented dryly.
The Huntress he knew would certainly not take kindly to his actions once he woke up.
"She ain't even know it." Red Arrow sang quietly.
The rooftops weren't all that safe and he couldn't properly jump around carrying extra weight. There was also the risk of running into Batman. The group was the same. No doubt he'd be easily found traversing the road on foot.
Shifting the Huntress to free his left hand, Naruto looked at his watch again. 2:30. No doubt the pickup crew would have gotten the change in plans and would be actively searching for him. He turned to look at the road and stared contemplatively at a manhole cover. He'd stink for days but fuck it.
Sewers it was.
Naruto rushed into the manhole. A minute later, five cars arrived at his former spot only to meet a tall figure with a glowing bat insignia.
"It's the Bat." Red Arrow said, mimicking the usual accent henchmen made when they noticed Batman. "Seriously though, what luck that they run into him."
Naruto nodded. Glad to see his luck also traversed the universe.
A YEAR LATER
"All I'm saying Helena, is that you shouldn't have come back here. You're still getting monitored, you know. The super friends won't let you go doing whatever just because you're no longer a member of their merry band." Naruto said to his current unwanted comrade. He'd be happier to see her if it weren't for circumstances hindering his ability to be happy. Although, the past year had been kinder to her than he'd expected for someone who'd joined the league.
She'd ditched the black and purple costume for a dark blue color scheme with a white cross and purple gloves. The cape had been replaced by a hooded cloak. It was still that delightful skintight suit that showed off her generous form. She'd also grown a bit taller.
Huntress sighed as she and the mercenary whose name she found was Naruto landed on a ledge overlooking an illuminated warehouse on the docks. It had been two weeks since they'd gotten back together and he still complained whenever he got the chance.
"So she joined the League and left?" Batman wondered. Helena would definitely be one to be monitored after that. Her history with Mandragora ran too deep to keep her unchecked.
Naruto seemed to know that too. "Also, does she mean back together as a team or romantically?"
Superman crossed his arms looking annoyed. "Knowing this book probably romantically."
She and the wannabe Deathstroke had been reluctant allies for a while and as much as she hated to admit it, he was surprisingly efficient for a guy who tended to work with what he had and limited technology. The problem was that whoever had fucked him over was good at covering their tracks well. And they'd taught the Mafia a few tricks as well, as things weren't as simple as it had been before.
"Great value Deathstroke" starfire came up with another. Once again, the laughs rang out.
On multiple occasions, they'd found themselves back at square one and had to make other matters priority. Naruto had been taking more and more jobs, sometimes getting her to help him out and he was developing a reputation. On the upside, it meant more business. On the downside, he didn't have the initial benefits of anonymity anymore.
They'd stopped their partnership eight months ago when she'd encountered the Batman who had invited her into the league. A surprising development in itself considering he, as well as most of the members, didn't agree with her methods.
When Naruto found out, he'd chosen to distance himself from her. It wouldn't do if she were found out to be in cahoots with a mercenary. Especially one who had a steadily rising reputation for his high success rate. Despite her dissatisfaction, she'd agreed with him.
"Well at least business is picking up for you." Red Arrow praised.
"But he lost his partner in return." Diana added.
Now they were back though and they had a feeling the maria plot line would re-emerge. At least they hoped.
Not that her membership lasted long. She and many members of the league with the exception of a few clashed because of her brutal methods and ruthlessness. She was a vigilante, not some comic book superhero who was supposed to come off as bastions of goodness and took down bad guys with quippy lines and never killed a person regardless of how bad because they were 'better than that'.
Her final argument with Batman ended with him and many others agreeing to dismiss her. Not that it mattered. She wouldn't change her ways just because some dude in a bat themed suit of armour thought he could force his ideals on her.
Upon coming back, her first action had been to contact Naruto, much to his displeasure. He kept complaining that she could be found out having an association with him and anything he could think of. As much as she hated to admit it, she missed him a lot.
Not that she'd tell him. He wouldn't shut up about it.
"Too bad she isn't here. I'd have loved to talk to her." He said. So far other than Arrow, most people were relatively friendly.
"She isn't as friendly as the rest of us Naruto." Canary warned him.
A lot had changed with him though, she found out that he could now convert his physical state from solid to a gaseous form. A part of her would find it cool if he didn't go around the hideout as a giant smoke screen all the time.
"Naruto, would you stop complaining.? I missed it more when you were insisting we go on jobs together," She told him, taking off the hood. "It wouldn't change much even if we were discovered to be connected. Many people already suspect that."
Naruto stared at the woman, wondering why she was so insistent on them partnering up like before. Their partnership hadn't begun on the best of terms and their parting had been only slightly less unpleasant. Not to mention all the reasons she kept finding to get him to go on patrols with her. Odd.
Helena smirked to herself as he finally relented. If he didn't want her to be stuck with him, he should have left her on that roof rather than rope her into his life and worm his way into hers albeit unintentionally.
"That is true. Kinda your fault." Canary said, poking his side.
Naruto huffed. He wouldn't even bother explaining that it wasn't really him.
"Kinda funny how the reluctant one was Huntress at first and now it seems that Naruto is the reluctant one." Superman said.
Naruto also wondered why. It would've mentioned if their partnership was bad. But from the woman's attitude that didn't seem to be the case.
"What were you doing in this area anyways?" She asked him.
Naruto sighed. "I got a job to eighty-six Solomon Atkinsons."
"The former mayoral candidate who tried to clear the competition by exposing all their underhanded activities in order to win by default?" Helena asked. Who hadn't heard of him? His stunt had brought about a new age of chaos in Gotham. Too bad his act had been for nothing.
The man still lost the election to the last minute entrance who happened to be Gotham's golden boy, Harvey Dent and placed himself in a lot of danger with his stunt. He'd gone off the map for three years and everyone assumed he was dead.
Apparently, he was hiding in Burnside and he'd underestimated just how good people's memories could be. Idiot hadn't even skipped Gotham completely. Even though doing so would have made him easy to find and track.
"Staying under everyone's nose wouldn't be a bad idea. No one would expect him to be there." Naruto pointed out.
"Political candidates don't really have that option. They're too high profile"
"That's true." Naruto relented. "I suppose we have it easier since we can transform into other people."
Red Arrow blinked. "You can do that? Say, if I paid you a bit do you think you could transform into someone for me for about two minutes?"
Naruto grimaced. No amount of money would get him to do that.
"Yes, that Solomon. And he happened to be located in a safehouse a few blocks away from where a deal between Mike Adriano and Johnny Sins was being held. I was headed home after getting my job done and bumped into you."
Huntress snorted. "It's Miccolo Adan and Johnathan Sinōs, I doubt two adult actors would be doing a drug deal."
"Whatever," Naruto scowled, pulling out his grappling gun. "Let's just get closer and see where we'll go from there."
Helena chuckled to herself as Naruto jumped off the ledge, clearly annoyed at being called out on his Freudian slip. As they both neared the warehouse, they both noticed the meager security.
"Isn't that dude a doctor?" Arrow asked.
"A scientist too" Batman added.
"Don't forget astronaut and a fireman." Canary pitched in.
Naruto blinked. All this and an adult actor? And he thought he was a Jack of all trades.
"Well, that's not suspicious at all. You get a mysterious tip about this warehouse, there's little security and people are inside. Surely it couldn't be a trap." Naruto quipped, causing Helena to frown at him.
"Regardless of what it is, we've got to see what we can find out." Helena replied. Naruto rolled his eyes before grabbing her hand, stopping her from advancing further.
"Helena, you're not dumb. These guys inside probably don't even know anything aside from the fact that they were told to wait in the warehouse and shoot anyone who wasn't dressed like them. We won't be gaining anything except a new addition to the body count and wasted time." He reasoned with her. Her behavioral changes were beginning to worry him considering she'd normally be the one saying they should leave.
He wasn't sure why but she'd been acting strange after getting kicked out of the league. Insisting on staying with him even though she used to enjoy the times she spent away from him, her sharp tongue seemed to become less sharp; almost as if she was cautious about offending him and she acted more impulsively than normal. Especially when it was something they were doing together.
"Maybe she's afraid of being abandoned by you too." Diana said thoughtfully.
It made sense. If she was kicked from the League then the only person she had left was Naruto. Where would she go if he turned her away?
Helena stared at the man for a few moments before turning away to look at a random building.
"Alright then. Let's go." She sighed. She didn't know why but a part of her wanted to do things like him for once. Maybe to make him grin at her or complement her or say she was his kind of person. They reached a rooftop and began to head for their hideout. Aside from this job, it had been a slow day and Naruto had a feeling he had done his last job for the week and there'd be nothing to do for a while, hence his sluggish pace.
"Naruto?" Helena began.
"Hm?"
"Do you have any preferences?"
Naruto turned to look at her. "Preferences? Like a favourite food or weapon?"
"No, preferences as in women."
Naruto did not. Any woman was good for him. No discriminating.
"Do you?" Canary asked with a grin. Naruto was suddenly aware of the eyes on him from both women sitting at his sides.
"Yeah. Long hair is nice. Women who take care of themselves. Fit, funny, and can whoop my ass." He replied, hoping they hadn't caught onto the fact that he'd described basically any woman in the league.
"Oh. What brought this on?" He asked. That was a very strange question to think of asking on a rooftop.
"I haven't seen you with any women before," Helena continued. "You're either fighting them or ignoring them. You wouldn't happen to be gay, would you?"
"What, no!" Naruto yelled. "I've slept with some women."
"Really?" Helena raised an eyebrow. "I'd have mistaken you for a virgin with how I've never seen you try getting laid."
"I'm not. Right GA?" He said intentionally picking a fight so that the attention would be off him. Red Arrow knew the drill and held a hand out to hold the bound man back.
"You know he's gonna harass you when you get back right?" Naruto asked Canary.
The blond woman nodded. "That's why I'm hoping you come back with me."
"It's not that, I just haven't really had time to go out and find a one night stand in a while. With the constant jobs and all."
"I see."
"That and I'm a picky guy when it comes to women."
"Picky? Like wanting dark skinned women?" Helena asked.
"No. I like dark skinned women. Gotta love chocolate. But I'm more of a.. redhead kind of person." Naruto said. That didn't seem to please Helena much as she scowled at him.
"Redheads? So you like Batgirl?"
An image of batgirl appeared in front of them and Naruto had to hold back from letting out a whistle. She was certainly a looker, he could say that much. Something about her was off though.
"You don't like her?" Diana asked curiously. Batgirl was a beautiful woman.
He stayed silent while he gathered his thoughts. "It's not that, it's more like something is telling me I couldn't trust her."
Superman quickly glanced at Batman who made no indication that he noticed the look.
"Gonna be a pass from me." Naruto decided.
" I was actually thinking of Hawkgirl since I've never even met Batg-wait, Batgirl's a redhead? How'd you know?" Naruto asked.
"You meet a lot of heroes when you join the biggest superhero association in the world." Helena retorted.
"If you meet Batgirl again, could you get me her number?"
"No, she doesn't date criminals. Much less hired killers." Huntress responded smugly.
"I'm not a hired killer," Naruto defended himself. "My resumé also includes paid acts of forging, bribery, theft, impersonation, kidnapping, intimidation and providing extra security."
Ra's nodded approvingly, maybe there was hope for this one yet.
"You're closing the gap between you and Deathstroke." Superman started only for Naruto to lift a hand.
"Let me stop you right there. Put this Deathstroke in front of the real me. I promise you he doesn't want to see me."
"That'll drive them away even further." Huntress responded, smirking.
"Oh.."
"Yeah. So you only like redheads?"
"Well, I make an exception for some black haired women." Naruto said.
"Really?" Helena asked curiously. Hopefully he meant her. "Like who?"
"Wonder Woman." Helena's frown returned with a vengeance.
"You and a billion other men. Congratulations, you're a generic wonder woman worshipper." She shot at him.
"I'm flattered." Diana said, leaning into him playfully.
"I'm sure you are. Having billions like you must be one hell of a feeling."
Red Arrow's money making mind went into overdrive. "You know if you started an only…"
"Stop." Batman said gruffly. The idea would bring billions to the woman but they needed her in the Watchtower and on patrols not on cam.
"It's not as bad as you say it is. I mean look at her," Naruto defended himself. "She's an Amazon, from a Greek island of Amazon, she uses lightning meaning she's probably related to Zeus. Most likely his daughter. Demigod Amazon. Best of both worlds. Divine looks, divine powers, divine pussy."
"Divine pussy?" Helena snorted again. "Wonder Woman would punch you to outer space if she heard you say that."
"The first chapter would beg to differ." Ra's pointed out.
Wonder Woman blushes slightly at the thought of the erotic chapter featuring her. Damn it now her thighs were closing again.
"How about we don't discuss what my alternate self was doing. If someone told me I had a…divine pussy they would certainly meet their creator."
Canary placed her hand over Naruto's mouth knowing he would see if she was serious. Just cuz he got lucky in one world didn't necessarily mean it would extend here.
"Well she won't, considering I'm more likely to find Excalibur and the philosopher's stone in the middle of El Dorado than I am to have a conversation with her that isn't mid-battle banter." Naruto sighed.
The unfairness of life. It was likely she'd made like a Disney princess and was dating a generic American soldier named Steve who'd stumbled on her in Amazon Island and introduced her to man's world before popping her cherry.
Perhaps in another world, he'd have better luck and be the soldier who stumbled on Amazon Island. Although he was more likely to be a Japanese Kamikaze pilot than an American footsoldier. Would the amazons spare a man who crashed on their island by accident while shouting 'TENNO HEIKA BANZAI'? Or maybe he'd be a hero who also happened to be fuckbuddies with her.
"You and the stereotypes." Superman said aghast.
"He is right about another world though. These really make me think how badly I have it in my own." Naruto pouted.
Helena watched as Naruto went deep into his thoughts. Ugh. Wonder Woman. Why did everyone want Wonder Woman?
"Any other black haired women?" She asked, bringing him back from his fantasies.
"You."
Helena blinked. "Me?"
"Yeah, you. I mean, you're my friend."
She sighed.
"And you're hot."
She looked at him. "Oh. W-well, thanks, I suppose."
"Smooth." Red Arrow said dryly.
Naruto rolled his eyes. What else did he want him to say? They were on a rooftop, wasn't exactly the place for a heartfelt confession.
"Really wish we could've seen what happened during the year for her to like him." Starfire said dejectedly.
Batman smirked. "Wish"
Naruto was sure his teeth would destroy themselves with how hard they were grinding.
"It's no problem." Naruto nodded at her. Now that the spirit of conversation was flowing, he felt it was time to ask about her current behavior.
"Hey, Helena? What's with you these days?"
She furrowed her eyebrows. "What do you mean?"
"You seem more eager to rush into life threatening situations."
"Like you always do?" Helena retorted
"Maybe she's suicidal?" Superman said worriedly.
Red Arrow smiled. "Doubt it. There's no beautiful girls around."
The women rolled their eyes. After this they would never wanna hear that song again.
"I don't walk into obvious traps to get something my attackers are seventy percent likely not to have." He frowned at her. "Now's not the time for that razor tongue, Helena. It's worrying."
"We've been in worse scenarios than that, Naruto. What's this about?"
"Anyone else get the feeling we're in for another sex scene?" Diana asked
"Most definitely. Does this count as in public?" Red Arrow asked.
Naruto was envious if that was the case. He'd tried to talk samui into doing it above the raikage tower once but settled for a hotel room instead. At least here he's live out a dream.
"It's about me being worried that one day, you head out and never come back and the next day, every social media platform and news channel gets flooded with news of the corpse of the infamous vigilante known as the huntress being found riddled with bullets," Naruto yelled at her. "You remember what happened to Mirage, don't you?"
"Of course I remember." Helena answered angrily. "But this is different."
"How? He jumped into a robber-filled bank through the window in France and got killed before his feet even touched the ground," Naruto retorted. "That's where impulsiveness gets you, Huntress. And you know that."
He was right. It stung her to admit it but he was right. She turned away from him, choosing to look ahead at the buildings in the distance. The most noticeable being the huge tower with a giant glowing 'W'. She wondered if Bruce Wayne was having a similar conversation with Robin.
"Why would he be having one with Robin?" Superman asked, looking at his friend.
The bat shrugged, it could be a multitude of things.
Fuck it, not much to lose from telling him the truth. In the worst case scenario, he rebuked her and left.
"It's because of you."
Naruto blinked. What'd she mean, him?
"What?"
"We tend to argue a lot when it comes to how we do stuff. You want to just clear everyone and do your thing, I insist on us using a more tactical manner," She started. "I don't know, I suppose I just wanted you to agree with me more."
Naruto frowned at her. Agree with her more? Was that why she'd become less standoffish with him? He stayed silent, waiting for her to continue.
"Confession time." Naruto said. He wouldn't lie, part of him hoped the scenes would show up as they happened. Helena was gorgeous and the Pervy side of him wanted to see the image.
"Get those thoughts out of your head." Canary chastised.
Muttering a halfhearted apology, he focused on the screen.
"I know I tend to take things a bit too far when it comes to my words and all and well, I guess I'm afraid I'll end up making you decide you don't have to deal with someone like me and leave."
Oh.
"Helena, I've dealt with worse partners than you. Trust me, you won't be chasing me away with insults and ill timed bouts of rebellion," He started. "Unless you ditch me yourself, I'll be with you."
She sighed. Really. He still didn't get it.
"How dense can someone be?" Superman asked.
"You're not one to talk." Batman shot back. The man still believed in Santa Claus
"Why are you so worried about that with me anyways? You didn't give a shit that people in the league didn't like you." Naruto asked her.
"It's because you're different, Naruto."
"How?" Naruto raised an eyebrow. "I'd say I'm less of a person than many of them."
"Well, I don't happen to be romantically interested in those 'better' people now, do I?"
Wait, what?
"There it is." Superman sighed. Another who knew how long of uncomfortable detail about a colleague coming right up.
"Relax. Maybe it won't be like that this time." Red Arrow commented. He doubted it, but he could hope. He was getting real tired of reading about someone getting all this pussy.
How did people get addicted to porn like this anyway? How were you addicted to someone else getting ass?
"I'm sorry, what?" He asked.
"Nevermind," Helena sighed. "Slip of tongue."
"No, that wasn't a slip of tongue, Helena. Sorry, it's just surprising." Naruto hastily said.
She nodded at him. Clearly she was waiting for him to say something.
"I.. fuck, Helena. I like you too. I can't really say it's of the romantic sort you feel but it's there."
Helena didn't say anything. Oh well.
"I won't say I love you or anything but if you're willing to give a relationship a try, so would I."
"Good save" Naruto muttered, enthralled in the exchange.
After all the banter at his expense he was looking forward to this. Hopefully this naruto and huntress engaged in the filthiest sex possible. He brought his hands together in prayer and hoped it would come true so they would be uncomfortable.
Helena perked up and looked at him, clearly surprised by his words. After a moment, she spoke.
"I'd like that too," She started before a small smile graced her face. "But I'm a bit hesitant to date a guy who's had tons of women in his lifetime. He's probably a walking STD."
"I kinda lied about sleeping around. I've only had two women. Well one, considering the first did most of the fucking. My first time too. Left me sore. " He said, ignoring her shocked look.
"Who did that?!"
"I can't remember her name anymore. She was a redhead though. Very tall and had orange skin too and no belly button." He said, rubbing his mask. She said her name was Kor-something.
All eyes turned to the only orange skinned woman in the room. Her eyes were wide with surprise but soon she smiled, clearly happy to have been mentioned in the story.
"Isn't this great?" She asked cheerfully.
Everyone muttered something that she couldn't quite pick up on.
"Wait. She did most of the fucking? What does that mean?" Superman asked with a red face. Shame coursed through him for the disturbing image in his mind.
Canary responded. "It means she was in full control the whole time. That or she didn't get off while he did." She hummed thoughtfully. "Maybe I've done all the fucking in my time too now that I think about it."
Not wanting to "hold him back" Red Arrow asked Batman to continue.
Huntress stared at him incredulously, having a very vivid idea who he was talking about. His first time and he had the misfortune of having it with a Tamaranean. The same one Nightwing had ditched because he couldn't handle her.
"How unfortunate. Maybe I'll consider dating you now." She said, causing Naruto to grin at her.
"So..you feel we should kiss now or we should wait till the first date?"
Hmm. Helena stared at him, wondering what to choose. On one hand, she'd been waiting a while to do it with him. And on the other, the Catholic in her wanted to wait till after a few dates.
Eh, fuck it. What was one more issue to explain at the pearly gates?
"I'll put in a good word for her when I get there." Naruto promised.
Green Arrow laughed maliciously. "You're not making it there. You're a contracted murderer. You're going down. First class"
Naruto shrugged. He's fought a god before. If push came to shove he'd beat whoever was down there and make his way up. That was a promise.
She grabbed him by the collar to pull him closer, pulled off his mask, ignoring his 'ow' and smashed her lips onto his. His body tensed but relaxed after a moment. She had to admit, his inexperience really showed. He had no idea what to do and chose instead to let her do her thing while he placed his hands on her waist and caressed her sides. In spite of that, it still felt a lot better than she'd thought it would be.
Naruto on the other hand wasn't having as good a time with the kissing. The last time someone kissed him, it had been to slip a poison into his mouth and he'd had to refrain from pushing her back. On the plus side, he finally got to feel her body press on him. Even through the clothes, her boobs felt soft on his chest.
He let one hand move behind the cloak, sliding up her spine, eliciting a shiver from ger before bringing it back down and letting it go lower. As he reached her buttocks, he used four of his fingers to trace a circular motion across one of her buttcheeks. Helena seemed to be enjoying that a lot from the moan she gave off.
Poison into the mouth? That was something they wouldn't put past the League of Shadows.
Ra's however showed no sign that he'd heard any of it. His face remained as stoic as it had since they arrived.
"Got the kiss of death for real huh?" Red Arrow asked.
Naruto nodded. It seemed that dangerous kisses happened everywhere. His mind briefly thought of Fuka who tried to kill him with a kiss.
A damn shame. She was hot too.
Helena couldn't help but raise a leg slightly, allowing her butt to strain against her suit as he maintained the circular pattern. She didn't even know she was sensitive down there. Her breathing deepened as she felt her core begin to secrete it's fluids in response to her arousal. She moaned into his mouth, feeling his growing hardness through his suit.
Naruto continued the tracing motion as his other hand squeezed her other buttcheek and pulled her closer to his person, thrusting his hips forward to press into the softness of her clothed center. Helena broke off the kiss to throw her head back and release a loud moan. Huh, guess she was only as experienced as he was.
Helena felt a pressure in her rapidly growing as Naruto's erection ground into her, the friction causing her underwear to rub against her hardened clitoris. As he continued to rub her ass and dry hump her, the pressure continued to grow. Naruto leaned his head on her shoulder as his breathing became heavier and more ragged.
Naruto felt Helena frantically thrusting her hips to meet his as he continued to thrust against her. Her heavy breathing had become short pants and her motions became more frantic. He couldn't feel as much as she did due to the tightness of his suit but the feeling of pressing into something soft and definitely warm proved more stimulating than he'd thought it would.
"Is this all still happening on the roof?" Starfire asked.
"I think so." Superman replied. He hoped no one would look up and see that. If news of Helena's departure from the league hadn't gotten out yet, it would reflect terribly on them.
"Kinky." Canary teased. "Don't forget. I still have to tie you up after this."
"Whatever you like."
Helena wiggled her toes in her boots as she felt that pressure growing to almost unbearable levels. Release seemed like it could be attained by the slightest push and yet, no push seemed to be enough. She erratically wiggled her hips against Naruto's hardness as she continued to pant. It wasn't enough. Nothing seemed to be but it was so close. As she felt Naruto pull down her collar, suck on a spot on her neck and run his tongue across the area, the pressure finally caused her to burst.
She hadn't imagined having her first orgasm on the roof of a random building with the sounds of sirens in the background but she had it as furiously as she would in a room illuminated by scented candles.
Naruto's eyes widened as Helena used a leg to pull him close as she screamed. Her legs shook as if convulsing and he felt a fluid drop from her crotch area onto his suit. Seeping through the fabric and settling on his member. As her orgasm died out, the shaking stopped but her legs still suffered involuntary spasms. She panted as she regained lucidity, and upon realizing what she'd done, her face flushed with embarrassment.
"I don't see why you're embarrassed. It's flattering that I can make you do that." Naruto said, sounding out of breath himself. He'd almost had his own release too from what he'd seen.
"Blue balls. Shit sucks man."
Naruto nodded. "It's happened quite a bit. Sucks even more when they just leave after."
Red Arrow knew the feeling.
"Shut up." Helena muttered. Her breaths had finally evened out.
"You want to get yourself together and head back?" Naruto asked.
"After what you've done? We've started this and we're ending it here." Helena said, using a crossbow bolt to cut a slit in her crotch area and shifting her soaked underwear to the side.
Naruto's eyes widened as Helena pulled his pants down and fished out his reddened member as her other hand stroked her own soaked pussy before it went to his exposed member, slathering it in her fluids. He bucked his hips forward, his eyes nearly rolling back from the sensation. She leaned into him, standing on the tips of her toes as she angled his penis directly below her opening and slowly guided him in as she descended.
"What happened to shame?" Superman asked disapprovingly.
Batman agreed. They were young but that was no reason to be committing indecent exposure. What if some kids below looked up?
"There's no shame in what he's packing." Canary said with full intent to piss her ex off even more.
Who knew this petty thing was this much fun?
Helena let loose another moan as she felt him fully inside her, with each inch that seemed to enter her, she felt each vein rubbing against her walls and the heat that warmed her from inside. She shuddered as she felt his head finally touch her cervix, slathering the flesh with cool precum.
Naruto held his breath as he felt her take him inside. He couldn't describe how it felt. Her walls seemed to expand and contract with her heartbeat and while she lacked the intoxicating heat the first had, she made up for it with her nearly uncomfortable tightness. Just as he felt he had no length left to put in, he felt his head reach her end. Bottomed out completely and filled her just right. This was the way.
"Tight," Naruto muttered, his voice strained. "Almost too tight, it's like you're a bodybuilding virgin."
"It is my first time." Helena responded. Her breathing uneven as she acclimated herself with the feeling of being filled. Not even her finger had been inside her although after tonight, she doubted it would matter.
"What?" Naruto exclaimed. "There's no way."
Diana looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Why not? Perhaps she was waiting for the special someone."
Red Arrow luckily had his back. "Would you believe a woman that hot was a virgin? Let's think about this. Suppose she uses social media. At least 40 guys are trying to message her per day. Multiply that by 356 days in a year and that's 14,600 guys. You think she's turning all of them down?"
The men in the room shook their heads. The math was there. No woman was shutting down that many men. One of them would be to her liking.
Canary and Diana stared in shock at what they'd just heard. That was crazy but they knew better than to try to argue. Their minds were made up and the math clicked for them.
"You're lucky you're cute." Canary muttered.
"Case and point" Arrow murmured.
"Really? But there was no-" Naruto started only to be interrupted by Helena.
"Broke it in a training accident. It hurt like hell and I thought I'd injured myself." She sighed. She wanted Naruto to stop talking and start moving. She kissed him again and began moving her hips back and forth. Naruto got the message and wrapped his hands around her waist, pulling her closer to him and leaned backwards as he began to saw in and out of her.
Naruto hissed and tensed as he began to move. He really should have tried making a move on Helena earlier if sex with her felt like this. With each thrust, his dick ground against warm, slimy, throbbing walls. He felt her clitoris rub against his pubic hair whenever he pushed in or pulled out, each time eliciting a gasp from his lover. Gradually, he began to add more effort into each thrust, causing an audible 'shlick' to resound with each thrust.
The video wasn't enough this time. As if in a high tech theater, every noise from their movements echoed loudly. The wet shlicks reverbed loudly through the small room.
It was music to Naruto's ears knowing he was really giving it to Huntress. He looked up and thanked the deity that made the scene uncomfortable for the rest.
Someone had his back.
Helena gasped as she felt him move and and out. Each thrust in caused her to curl her toes and instinctively squeeze her walls around the delightful rod in her and each pull out felt like he was scooping out everything negative in her. The feeling of his hair brushing against her clitoris with each motion made her pulse increase. This was almost as intense as fighting for her life! She could easily get lost in this. She raised a hand to Naruto's face, pushing it up and forcing him to make eye contact with her.
Naruto's breath caught in his lungs as Helena raised his face to meet hers. In the heat of passion, she looked nothing but breathtaking. Her face seemed to shine with sweat, her half lidded eyes had darkened further with lust and her mouth was partly open, the sight reminded him of one of those comics he'd read on a few lonely nights. The sight of her combined with the feelings of being inside her became a bit too much to bear and he felt his balls tightening but he soldiered on, increasing his thrusts, determined to bring his lover to orgasm before him.
Helena's gasps became whimpers as she felt Naruto's thrusts increase in intensity. The increased vigour and the stimulation of her clit caused the now familiar pressure to resurface, this time rising at a faster rate. She felt his throbbing become erratic and as he gave the hardest thrust he'd made that night, she pulled his face into hers and screamed into his mouth as she released.
"Imagine if that had been Canary" starfire said.
The men of the League pictured it in their minds. A romantic moment between two lovers ruined by the canary cry. Naruto's head standing no chance against the attack only for Canary to not notice until she came down from her high.
The blond in question scoffed. "I have more control than that. I'd just damage his eardrum maybe."
As Naruto made what was definitely his last thrust into Helena, he felt her press her lips onto his again as she tightened painfully around him and her legs shook again. This time, he couldn't stop himself. He let out a drawn out groan as he emptied himself into her, flooding her womb with ropes of semen.
Helena continued to pant as she felt Naruto release the last of his contents into her. His grip tightening as he orgasmed. A few moments later, his grip slacked and his breathing evened. Eventually, he withdrew himself from her, his length coated with their mixed fluids and a small stream of semen leaving her opening and running down her leg.
"I..I have to say, this was like nothing I'd ever felt before." Naruto started.
"You slept with a Tamaranean, Naruto. Don't try to flatter me. I'm not going to ask you if I was the best you've ever had." Helena shot back as she tried to stop her legs from giving out. She hadn't pictured her first time to be in a clothed sex in a standing position on a rooftop at night but damn, she didn't regret anything.
"Doesn't matter if the other was more intense. That doesn't translate to the best." Naruto imparted some wisdom.
"No, seriously. You're completely different from that crazy woman," Naruto insisted.
"Whatever you say, Naruto," Helena relented. "But we've got to get going. I hate to admit it but we can't stay long."
"There isn't much use for making haste anymore, you've done everything you intended to do"
"It's the bat!" Red Arrow mimicked.
"That's actually what it sounds like." Green Arrow pointed out. It seemed like it was always the same guy screaming it out.
Naruto and Helena froze as they heard an unfamiliar voice. They both turned to the direction it came from to see a tall figure wearing a cowl with pointed ears and a bat insignia on his chest. No wait, there were two.
"Batman," Naruto began, pulling his pants up and turning to look at the bat themed, red faced, redhead female. "And apparently Batgirl. You're a lot more attractive than you were described."
The lady turned even redder and turned away from him. Naruto grinned. He still had it.
"She looked away because she caught you in the act." Diana said with a laugh.
"I still got it." He whispered.
"You probably got a kid on the way, that's what you got." Superman replied. He'd noticed now that this was the third time he'd failed to hear of any sort of protection being used.
"Uzumaki Naruto and Helena Bertinelli."
"Batman.. I can't believe you caught me like this again." Naruto sighed.
"Doing the same thing too." The Dark Knight glared at him
"Batman." Huntress repeated, having no idea what to say. He turned from the mercenary to look at the former league member.
"From killing mobsters to having intercourse on rooftops, you're determined to do everything heroes don't, aren't you?" Batman remarked.
One again, Superman repeated "what happened to shame?"
Starfire however was hung up on another part of the interaction. "Wait, he caught us together already?"
"Apparently. I'm starting to think this isn't on accident." He said with a suspicious look on his face.
"Oh, you can take your hero shit and shove it u-"
"Look at the time, ahaha," Naruto feigned a laugh, covering Helena's mouth before she could complete her sentence. "Well if it's not too much trouble, we'll be taking our leave. Sorry about last time, hope you sorted it out. Watch your step."
Batman narrowed his eyes. "You're not going anywhere, tonight Atkinsons was mur-"
BANG!
Batman quickly switched to his cowl's infrared mode to catch sight of the two only to realize the entire smoke screen had its own heat signature. Effectively blinding anyone using infrared goggles. He sighed.
"Welp, they got away." Batgirl said, popping her lips at the 'p'.
"To be fair they didn't really try to apprehend them." Superman defended.
Batman almost shuddered in disgust. "I wouldn't want to put my hands on either after what they were doing."
"Poor janitor who's gonna have to clean that up." Canary said with a sigh. They did say to watch their step. The fluids on the roof would heat up too. She had no reservations about shuddering.
Batman turned to look at her. "We're going to discuss the consequences of getting flustered in the middle of a potential fight when we get back."
Batgirl sighed.
As the two vigilantes left, Naruto and Helena, now both having made themselves presentable with the exception of the slit in Helena's suit reappeared.
"And they're finally gone," Helena said, relieved. "I've never been so embarrassed in my life."
"You'll get used to it." Naruto grinned at her.
Naruto rolled his eyes. He'd had enough embarrassment for one lifetime. At least the Deathstroke jokes had stopped.
"I'm not doing this here again. Next time we have sex, it'll be somewhere more private." Helena shot down his dreams.
"Fine, you've got to learn to live a little."
"I'll learn later. Now I'll have to see if there's a pharmacy open so I can buy pills."
"Pills?" Naruto asked. Was she sick?
"Birth control pills. I've got to take them as soon after sex as I can if I don't want to get pregnant."
"Would it be so bad if you did?"
"I see the neurons are activating." Batman poked fun.
Naruto couldn't help but shrug. Something about knocking a woman up was otherworldly. Suddenly, he paused. Huntress said the pill needed to be taken after sex. He and Canary would be here for an unknown amount of time and she was sitting here inadvertently cosplaying as a Twinkie.
She didn't look up but she smirked as if she knew what was going through his mind.
"I don't know about you but I'm not ready for children yet." Helena sighed, not sure if he actually wanted children or not. Even if he did, it wouldn't be until they were either married or she was sure he wouldn't go out to 'get the mail' the day after she said she was with child.
Naruto nodded. Yeah, him neither.
"Alright. So.. after you take those pills, can we go another round?"
"The mail. Right…" Red Arrow drawled. "If that doesn't work just go out for some smokes."
Not wanting to be left out of the anger, superman recalled something he'd seen in Jimmy's phone. "If your son gets drafted into the league you come back and blame the line at Walmart."
Mouths dropped as the boy scout made a crude joke about abandonment but soon laughed in delight. Naruto didn't know what Walmart was but he laughed along to not be left out.
The book disappeared and plopped straight into Superman's hands once they composed themselves. The man exhaled deeply and went to ask if they were ok to continue only for the two blonds to rush by him.
"Why did I even bother?"
