29. Old habits die hard

She fixes his tie for him. Sometimes his hair. Always making sure he's presentable especially when he meets the clients for the first time. Not that he really needs it because she knows he looks good. Handsome but also cocky, she reminded herself. She's not even sure if its still part of her job as a secretary, but she does it anyways.

It's a habit formed when they were still at the DA's office and she brought it at Pearson Hardman. Old habits die hard as they say.

But it wasn't only her that had formed a habit.

Donna came in at Harvey's office to brief him of his afternoon meetings. After the briefing she turned her back and head to the door. Harvey watches her as she leaves. Then he saw the zipper of her dress is not fully zipped up. It's not that noticeable but he couldn't let her go like that.

"Donna!" He called her and stood up. She wasn't out of his office yet. She was about to face him but he's more quick and went to her back. It surprised her. She realized what he was doing when she heard the zipper going up.

"There you're good" Harvey gently tapped her back and went back to his desk.

Donna didn't expect what just happened and didn't realize she was staring at Harvey.

"What?" He innocently asked.

"Nothing. Thank you Harvey." She went back to her cubicle and started typing.

It barely happens. Sometimes she forgets to fully clasp it in whenever she's in a hurry.

But ever since then, Harvey looks out for her.

He uses a specific tone that only she understands what it means. She'll automatically stop in her tracks and he'll zip up her dress.

She doesn't realize that she holds her breath every time it happens. His touch sends electricity down her spine. She couldn't deny it but sometimes she had wished Harvey would zip it down instead.

Sometimes he notices the zipper after she fixes his tie and she turns around to go back to her cubicle. They look out for each other. They seem to not care whether people are around them looking or staring. Even Jessica and Scottie had seen it happen. Eventually everyone at the firm had gotten used to them fixing ties and zipping dresses up. It's just another normal day in Harvey and Donna's world.

They do this even when she became the COO.

And especially after they got together. They have already formed a new routine when they get ready in the morning. They'll have breakfast and finish getting ready in between flirting and kissing and making love which had caused them to be late more often than before.

She'll fix his tie for him before putting on her chosen armour of the day.

"Hey...do you mind?" Donna turned her back on him so he could help with the long zipper on the back of her dress. She had it a little bit up already.

Harvey obliged with a smirk on his face.

"Wrong direction" she says, when she felt the zipper going down instead.

"We have time" he whispers in her ears and turned her around while the dress hits the floor. He started kissing her while her hands are fixated in removing his tie.

They had a spare thirty minutes, after all.

"You know I just realized how much I love it when I zip up your dress over the years" he says while putting his suit the second time around that morning.

"Oh really?!"

"But I love it even more when I zip it down"

"I bet you do. Tell you what, I love it even more too" she smirked.

"Okay as much as I love to do it again, Louis might just actually kill us this time" He warns.

They're already 2 hours late. Louis had called numerous times. They didn't answer so Louis left a message threatening to kill them once they show up at the firm.

She fixes his tie again and he zips up her dress this time.

End.
