Chloe and Beca had planned Sophie's birthday, they were gonna celebrate it on a Saturday, December 9th, a day after Sophie's birthday. They knew their parents had jobs and celebrating on a Friday would be a little complicated for them.
On Friday, they decided they were gonna have a special dinner just the four of them so they could celebrate it.
Charlotte, needless to say, was beyond excited. She woke up before her mothers and ran to her sister's room to find her awake, sitting on the crib. She looked at Charlotte and smiled.
"Good morning Sophie! Happy birthday!" Charlotte said. She approached the crib and grabbed her sister's hands. "Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Sophie, happy birthday to you!"
Charlotte started clapping as soon as the song finished and smiled when Sophie did too.
"You're turning one today!" she said. "Let's go wake mommy and mamma!"
Charlotte left the room and Sophie immediately complained, making the small brunette come back.
"Soph, I need to go wake them up, but I'll be right back okay?" Charlotte promised. Sophie didn't react and then Charlotte left to go to her mothers' room. She jumped on the bed excitedly. "Mommy! Mamma! Wake up, wake up, it's Sophie's birthday!"
Sophie could be heard from her room.
"Good morning, Char." Chloe said as she sat up.
Charlotte threw herself on Chloe's arms and giggled as she snuggled up to her. She looked up at her and smiled as Chloe kissed her forehead.
"I love you, my little Beca." Chloe said.
"I love you too, mamma." Charlotte said.
Chloe smiled and hugged her closer.
"Now wake your lazy mommy." she whispered to the girl, who giggled and sat up.
Charlotte sat between her mothers and eyed Beca, who was lying on her side with her back to Charlotte. The little girl put both hands on Beca's side and started shaking her as hard as she could.
"Wake up, mommy, wake up!" she said and giggled along with Chloe.
"I'm gonna get Sophie." Chloe stood up and left the room.
Charlotte frowned when Beca didn't show signs of waking up. She was now lying on her back. Charlotte had a mischievous look on her face as she raised her left hand and started slapping her mother's butt repeatedly.
"Wake up, mommy! Wake up!" she said and the brunette woman shot right up at that and laughed.
"Alright, I'm up! I'm up!" Beca said as she turned on her back. Charlotte laughed and threw herself on her mother's arms. "Char, you gotta be careful when you throw yourself like that, okay? You might hurt someone one day."
"Oh.. okay." Charlotte said. "Sorry mommy."
"It's okay, honey, just be careful." Beca said, kissing the top of her head.
Chloe came back in with Sophie and got back in bed with her wife and older daughter.
"Hi baby!" Beca said with a big smile. Sophie crawled over to her mom and Beca hugged her tight, kissing her all over.
"I'll get breakfast started." Chloe said. "We gotta dress the girls and go."
"Yeah." Beca said.
"When are we gonna celebrate Sophie's birthday?" Charlotte asked.
"We're gonna have a special dinner tonight, but grandma, grandpa Mike, nana and grandpa Ethan are coming tomorrow. And the Bellas." Beca said.
"And aunt Tacie and aunt Aubee?" Charlotte asked.
"Of course." Beca said.
"Okay." Charlotte said. "Are we gonna see aunt Aubee and aunt Tacie today?"
"I don't think so, sweetie." Beca said.
"Awww." Charlotte said. "Okay."
Beca smiled.
"Come on, let's go get ready." Beca sat up and Charlotte did the same.
Beca went to her closet to choose something to wear. She grabbed an outfit and took off her shirt.
Charlotte gasped. She was used to seeing her moms get dressed, although they didn't get dressed in front of her that often.
Sophie saw her sister gasped and copied her, looking back at Beca, who had her back to them as she put on her bra.
"Boobs!" Charlotte said and giggled when Beca gave her a look.
"Why are you so fascinated by boobs?" Beca asked as she put on her jeans.
"Because boobs are funny. They are soft and they bounce." Charlotte said with a giggle. "Boobs."
Beca chuckled and shook her head and grabbed a black belt to put on over her jeans.
"Boob."
Beca turned around as fast as she could, her eyes wide as she looked at her youngest daughter, who was staring back at her with a serious look on her face, while Charlotte looked amazed and happy.
"Boob." Sophie repeated.
"Mommy! Sophie said her first word!" Charlotte said.
"I heard!" Beca said. She picked Sophie up and kissed her cheek. "You said your first word!"
Sophie smiled as Beca kissed her cheeks.
"We gotta go tell mamma!" Beca said.
"Boob." Sophie said.
Beca chuckled and got out of the room, Charlotte following her. The three got in the kitchen and Chloe was already putting a plate of pancakes on the table.
"Baby, you're never gonna believe what Sophie just did." Beca said, putting Sophie on her high chair.
"What? What did she do?" Chloe asked, smiling and playing with Sophie, who giggled.
"She said her first word!" Charlotte said.
"Oh my God! On your birthday? That's amazing, Soph!" Chloe asked. "What did you say?"
"Boob." Sophie said and giggled when Chloe went pale. "Boob."
"So.. Sophie's first word.. was boob?" Chloe asked.
"Sophie loves boobs, too!" Charlotte said. "See? Everybody loves boobs!"
"Boob!" Sophie said a little louder and laughed when Charlotte started clapping and jumping up and down.
"That's.. great.. our daughter's first word was boob.." Chloe said.
"Well she's the daughter of two lesbians. You're lucky her first word wasn't pu-" Beca said but Chloe covered her mouth.
"Hey!" Chloe said and whispered, "Charlotte does not know that word and I'd like to keep it that way."
"Sorry." Beca said sheepishly and offered her a smile. "I forgot."
Chloe chuckled and shook her head before giving her a kiss.
"Let's eat before we're late."
Beca smiled and sat down. Chloe put two pancakes in front of Sophie and the toddler grabbed one and started eating it. Charlotte did the same thing before she grabbed some bacon. Sophie saw that and started making noise, complaining.
"Here, here." Beca said and handed Sophie a piece of bacon.
After breakfast, Beca got Charlotte and Sophie dressed while Chloe got dressed and ready. Then Chloe helped Charlotte brush her teeth and brushed Sophie's teeth before the four were out the door.
That night when they were all together, Beca and Chloe prepared something and they even made cupcakes.
They sang happy birthday to Sophie and gave the little girl a cupcake. She just stared at it for a while before she grabbed it, carefully. She then brought it to her mouth and ate a piece of it, chewing to see if it was good. She smiled when she tasted how good it was and ate more of it.
"It's super good, mamma!" Charlotte said, her face was covered in chocolate.
"Thanks, sweetie." Chloe smiled. "I'm gonna give you and Sophie a bath before bed."
"Yaaay!" Charlotte said.
Chloe chuckled.
"Go, Chlo, I'll clean up the kitchen." Beca said.
"Okay, thanks baby." Chloe gave Beca a kiss before she picked Sophie up and went upstairs to the bathroom with her and Charlotte.
After their bath, Chloe and Beca said goodnight to Charlotte and then went to Sophie's room to say goodnight. The little girl was holding on to her stuffed pink sea horse/unicorn while she had a pacifier in her mouth.
"Goodnight my little princess." Chloe said with a smile and kissed the toddler's forehead. "Happy birthday, Sophie."
"Happy birthday, sweetie, I love you so much." Beca said and kissed Sophie's forehead as well.
Sophie smiled and removed the pacifier from her mouth.
"Boob." she said with a smile.
"I think that means 'I love you too'." Chloe chuckled. "I love you, Soph."
Sophie smiled at her mom and put the pacifier back in her mouth.

The next day, the girls woke up at around 7, Beca and Chloe made breakfast then cleaned the kitchen before they went upstairs to give the girls a bath. Sophie's birthday party was supposed to start at 3, so they had a few hours to organize the house and prepare the cake and treats.
Chloe's parents arrived an hour earlier so they could help the two women with the house and the girls, so by 2, they had everything ready and Charlotte was anxious and excited to see everybody.
Beca's mother, Diane, was the next to arrive, followed by Beca's dad, Ethan. Then Zoe and Thomas came, the Bellas started arriving little by little.
Aubrey and Stacie were second to last to arrive but they came with two large presents. They put one of the bags with the other presents and gave the other to Charlotte.
"We want you and Sophie to open these at the same time." Stacie said.
"That's for me?" Charlotte asked. "But it's Sophie's birthday!"
"You don't want it?" Stacie asked.
"I do, it's mine!" Charlotte said.
Chloe helped Sophie open while Charlotte opened hers. Chloe and Beca gasped when they saw they had gotten Bella uniforms and scarves for Charlotte and Sophie.
"Oh my God!" Chloe said.
"We have to take a picture!" Beca said.
"Not now though." Chloe said. "But we promise, we're gonna take a beautiful picture."
Aubrey and Stacie smiled.
"We thought it'd be cute since they're copies of you two." Aubrey said.
"It's super sweet." Beca said.
"See Char? Now you can look like mommy!" Beca said. "This is a Bella uniform!"
"Yay!" Charlotte said. "Charlotte wears it too!"
"Oh yeah!" Beca said. "I can put my old uniform on and we'll take a picture together."
"Actually, we can take a picture the four of us." Chloe said. "The big Bellas and the mini Bellas."
"That is gonna be very cute." Beca smiled.
"Come here Sophie, I wanna hold the birthday girl." Aubrey said and picked Sophie up who smiled at her.
"She's so big, I can't believe she's 1 already." Stacie said.
"You and Charlotte are growing up too fast." Aubrey said.
Charlotte heard Aubrey say her name and she immediately remembered something. She stood up from the couch and ran over to her aunt and sister.
"Aunt Aubee, guess what?" she said.
"What?" Aubrey asked, sitting down and placing Sophie on her lap.
"Sophie said her first word!" Charlotte said with a huge grin.
"She did?! Oh my God, what was it?" Aubrey asked and looked at Sophie.
"Before she says it, we didn't have anything to do with it." Beca said, defending herself and her wife.
"What?" Aubrey asked, frowning in confusion.
"Boob." Sophie said. Charlotte started jumping and clapping and the little redhead laughed.
"She said what?" Aubrey asked and Sophie looked at her.
"Boob." Sophie repeated. "Boob boob boob."
"Beca.. Chloe.." Aubrey asked.
"I asked Charlotte why she was so obsessed about boobs and Sophie was there and she repeated." Beca said.
"Oh my God!" Aubrey said.
"This is amazing, I can't imagine Sophie's face when you tell her when she's older." Stacie said, laughing.
"Boob." Sophie said.
"Maybe we can tell her her first word was something else?" Beca suggested.
"No! I will tell her the truth!" Charlotte said. "Lying is wrong, mommy."
"You're right, Char. You're right." Aubrey said.
"Boob!" Sophie threw her arms in the air.
"Boobs!" Charlotte did the same and the two laughed.
"Boob." Sophie said and laughed.
"That's great." Chloe said. "Great.. our daughters won't stop saying 'boobs'."
"I think it's time for the cake." Beca said and left the living room. She grabbed the cake and went outside to the backyard to put it on the center of the table. She then went back inside to call everyone.
Everyone was gathered around the table, ready to sing. Charlotte was in Chloe's arms while Sophie was in Beca's.
"Boob!" Sophie said and turned to see her mother's reaction.
Beca looked a little mortified as her father gave her disapproving looks and her mother looked really confused and happy at the same time.
Everyone started talking at the same time, wanting to know why Sophie was saying 'boob'. Chloe just looked at Beca's mortified look on her face and shushed everyone.
"Guys, Char was asking Beca a question about boobs and Sophie was near so she repeated." Chloe said.
"Boob." Sophie said.
People giggled and Sophie clapped her hands.
Beca smiled at Chloe and they started singing happy birthday, which startled Sophie. She started looking around, confused but when she saw it was all for her, she smiled and looked at Beca, who smiled back at her and continued singing.
Charlotte helped Sophie blow her candle and the toddler clapped along with everybody. She was so happy, it was super cute.
They gave her a piece of cake and she ate it, getting her entire face dirty in the process. Both her and Charlotte.
Charlotte saw her two aunts sitting next to each other, kissing and smiling. She smiled and squished herself between them, breaking them apart from their kiss with a chuckle.
"Hey Char." Stacie said.
"Hi." Charlotte said while eating a mini hot dog.
"So how are you doing?" Stacie asked and Aubrey could see she was annoyed that Charlotte interrupted their kiss.
"I'm good. I miss you guys." Charlotte said with a soft pout.
"Aww we miss you too, Char." Aubrey said.
"Can I sleep at your house?" Charlotte asked and grinned.
"Tonight?" Aubrey asked.
"Yeah!" Charlotte said. "I don't have school tomorrow."
"Oohhh.." Stacie said, clearly not thrilled about the idea.
"You would have to ask your moms." Aubrey said.
"Yay!" Charlotte jumped and ran over to where Beca was with Sophie.
Stacie turned to Aubrey with a look of disbelief.
"What are you- why?!" She asked and Aubrey laughed.
"Come on, she just wants to sleep over." Aubrey said.
"Well I wanted to be alone with you! For reasons!" Stacie said.
Aubrey laughed again. She knew the brunette was joking. Well at least she thought she was joking. She kissed her cheek and smiled.
"Don't worry about that." She said.
Stacie gave her a look but Aubrey giggled and kissed her, which made the brunette smile.
"Aunt Tacie! Aunt Aubee! Mommy said yes!" Charlotte said. "She said yes!"
Aubrey grinned and Charlotte grinned as well.
"That's great! Your first sleepover!" Aubrey said.
"Yay!" Charlotte said. "It's gonna be so much fun!"
"It will!" Aubrey said.
Charlotte turned to Stacie.
"Aunt Tacie, you are excited?" She asked.
Stacie giggled. She couldn't stay or pretend to stay mad at her.
"Of course I am." She said. "We're gonna have a lot of fun."
Charlotte smiled.
"I'm gonna spend time with Sophie." She said and ran off to find her sister.
Charlotte found Sophie sitting on the floor surrounded by her gifts. She wanted to open them but she wasn't strong enough. Beca was sitting on the couch talking to Chloe's mom, the girls' fathers were nowhere to be seen and Chloe was outside talking to Zoe.
"Sophie!" Charlotte said, sitting down in front of her sister.
Sophie saw her and smiled widely, handing her a gift.
"That's yours, Sophie." Charlotte said, giving her the gift back. Sophie frowned and looked at her.
"Aaaaa." Sophie said as she gave the gift back to Charlotte and tried to open it with her fingers before looking up at Charlotte.
"You want me to open this?" Charlotte asked.
Sophie made a noise again and just stared at the gift. Charlotte opened the gift and showed it to her, it was a colorful stuffed dog. Sophie smiled and reached out to grab the dog, but she frowned when it was stuck in the box.
"Mommy, take this dog out of the box." Charlotte said, handing the box to her mom.
"What's the magic word?" Beca said.
"Please." Charlotte said.
"But that's Sophie's." Beca frowned.
Sophie used her mom's legs to stand up and looked at the dog, making a noise and reaching out to grab it.
"She wants it open." Charlotte said.
"Oh!" Beca said and got the dog out of the box. She then handed it to Sophie and the toddler sat down and hugged the dog tightly.
"Awww!" Charlotte said. "Come here."
Charlotte dragged Sophie away from her mom and grandmother, not without complaining from the redhead, who pouted at Charlotte with a frown, hugging her dog tighter when the older girl sat in front of her.
"What is it?" Charlotte asked seeing the frown and pout in her sister's face.
Sophie said a few things (or made a few noises) and hugged the dog tighter.
"I know it's your dog." Charlotte said. "Wanna play? I'll get Charlotte!"
Charlotte ran up to her room and came back a couple minutes later with her doll. Sophie lit up when she saw her sister had brought her own doll and showed her the dog.
When Aubrey and Stacie were leaving, Chloe called Aubrey upstairs to talk about Charlotte sleeping over while she packed a little overnight bag for her.
"If you could give her a bath or something that'd be great, I mean she already had one this morning but you know." Chloe said. "I'm sending two extra pairs of underwear, just in case, her pj's, a change of clothes, hair brush, her toothbrush, don't let her go to bed without brushing her teeth-"
"Chlo," Aubrey grabbed the redhead by her shoulders with a chuckle. "Don't worry, we have taken care of her before."
Chloe sighed and chuckled at how silly she was being.
"I know, it's just.. it's her first time sleeping out." Chloe said.
Aubrey smiled.
"She's gonna be okay." Aubrey assured. "We'll call you if we need anything."
"Okay." Chloe smiled. She handed the little pink and red backpack to Aubrey and the two went downstairs.
Stacie was holding Sophie while Charlotte was hugging Beca's legs, the brunette was standing and talking to Stacie.
"Your bag is ready, Char." Aubrey said.
"Yay!" Charlotte said with a smile.
Beca knelt down so she was at eye level with Charlotte and looked into her daughter's dark blue eyes.
"I want you to be good to aunt Stacie and aunt Aubrey, okay?" She asked.
"Okay." Charlotte said.
"I love you sweetie." Beca kissed her forehead. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight mommy, I love you." Charlotte smiled and then hugged Chloe tight. "I love you too, mamma. Goodnight."
"Goodnight sweetie." Chloe said with a smile.
"I will be okay, mamma." Charlotte said as if to assure her mom.
Chloe smiled.
"I know you will." Chloe said. "Now go."
Stacie handed Sophie over to Beca and the tiny redhead frowned when she saw her sister about to leave. She reached out in her direction and let out a long noise, her eyes filling with tears. She looked at Beca with a pout.
"Awwww Sophie, it's gonna be okay, Char is just going to spend the night at aunt Aubrey and aunt Stacie's house." Beca said, hugging Sophie.
Charlotte stopped in front of her mother and sister.
"Don't worry Soph, I'll come back. I promise." Charlotte said. "When you get older like me, you can come too."
Sophie buried her head in the crook of Beca's neck and started sniffing. Charlotte smiled at her one last time before she left with Aubrey and Stacie.
Sophie started crying and clinging to her mother, while Beca ran her hand up and down her back to calm her down, whispering to her that it would be alright. She found it os cute that Sophie didn't want her sister away from her.
Chloe found herself in a state similar to Sophie, she didn't cry though. She couldn't believe Charlotte was gonna sleep out for the first time since she was a baby. She was kinda sad, it meant Charlotte was growing up and that terrified both Chloe and Beca, but in a good way.
Chloe picked Sophie up and kissed the top of her head and the baby started to calm down.
I think it's time to drop the whole boob thing...
