I hope you guys like this chapter, I managed to get a few ideas for this one
PS: my kitty was given away today so I couldn't (still can't stop crying) and I haven't given a smile today. I feel horrible, so excuse me for any mistakes
Beca was buckling Sophie in, the next stop would be the grocery stop and then she'd pick up Charlotte from school, since they were rehearsing for their graduation. Chloe was probably in the office or getting ready to go home.
Beca's phone started ringing as soon as she fastened her seatbelt and she answered via bluetooth.
"Hello?" she looked in the rearview mirror to check that Sophie was seated and she found the tiny redhead looking out the window.
"Hello, is this Beca Mitchell?" a female voice spoke.
"Yes, who am I speaking to?" Beca frowned.
"I am Hannah, from the Children's Hospital. Your daughter, Charlotte, was brought in a few minutes ago." the woman spoke and Beca froze.
Her hands started shaking and she felt as if she was going to fall even though she was seated.
"W-What?" she managed, gripping the wheel so tight and her throat felt like it was closing up.
"There was an accident at school, she hit her forehead. She's fine, though." Hannah said.
"I'll be there in 5 minutes!" Beca hung up and hurried to the hospital. Sophie started crying on the backseat and calling out for her mother but Beca was too busy worrying about her other daughter. That stupid girl on the phone didn't even tell her what was wrong.
When she got there, Beca almost forgot to unbuckle Sophie and she rushed into the main lobby to ask about Charlotte.
"Dr. Charles will be right with you." a nurse said and hurried off to find the doctor.
Beca sat on a chair and managed to calm Sophie down and call Chloe. She was crying hard and her hands were shaking pretty bad.
"Mrs. Mitchell?" a tall, blonde doctor showed up and shook hands with Beca.
"Call me Beca." Beca said.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Dr. Charles." he said. "Charlotte was brought in about 20 minutes ago, she had a nasty cut on her forehead and she's gonna need stitches."
Beca put her hand over her heart and took a few deep breaths.
"Don't worry, ma'am, we ran an MRI, there's no damage to her brain or spine." he said in a soothing tone. "It wasn't a very deep cut."
Beca seemed to become less desperate at hearing those words. She visibly relaxed and wiped some tears.
"I think she would feel better if you came in while we do the stitches." Dr. Charles said.
"Okay, but what do I do about my youngest daughter?" Beca asked. "She can't go inside, too, she'll be traumatized."
As if she read everyone's thoughts, Chloe walked through the door, way calmer than Beca had when she came. She quickly spotted her wife talking to the doctor and made her way over.
Dr. Charles explained the situation and Beca asked if Chloe could stay outside with Sophie and the redhead agreed without hesitation. Beca followed the doctor and they went to the room where Charlotte was. There was a nurse cleaning the cut on her forehead, Charlotte's cheeks were wet from the tears but she seemed to be calmer now.
"Mommy!" Charlotte said and Beca ran to her side, grabbing her hand and holding it tight. "Mommy, I'm scared!"
"Char, I'm so glad you're okay!" Beca said, kissing the top of her head. "You don't need to be scared, honey."
"This won't hurt." Dr. Charles said, getting everything ready.
"Char, why don't you lay back, close your eyes and sing Twinkle Twinkle for me?" Beca asked. "So when you open your eyes, it'll all be okay."
"It will?" Charlotte asked with a pout.
"Yes." Beca said. "And if it hurts, you squeeze my hand, okay?"
"Okay." Charlotte said and closed her eyes. She started singing Twinkle Twinkle but at one moment she stopped and squeezed her mom's hand, feeling some pressure on her forehead.
When Charlotte didn't feel anything anymore, she peeked through one eye.
"Was that it?" she asked.
"Yep, that's it." Beca said with a smile. "You were very brave."
Charlotte wiped her tears and managed to offer her mom a small smile.
"What happened, Char? Did you fall during recess?" Beca asked.
"No. Henry pushed me, he said I was stupid because I have two moms." Charlotte said.
"You're not stupid, having two moms is nothing to be ashamed of and your classmate is an idiot." Beca said and Charlotte chuckled.
"I know." Charlotte said.
"Now how about we go out for dinner? Anywhere you want." Beca asked.
"Can we invite Aunt Tacie and Aunt Aubee?" Charlotte asked.
"Sure." Beca said. "Where do you wanna go for dinner?"
"Can we go to that chick-a place?" Charlotte asked.
"Chick-fil-a?" Beca asked and Charlotte nodded.
"I like the fries." Charlotte said with a mischievous smile.
Beca chuckled.
"Of course. Let's go, Sophie and mamma are waiting outside." Beca said with a small smile.
Beca talked to the doctor about Charlotte's stitches, he set an appointment for the two to come back so he could remove them. He gave Beca instructions to leave the bandage on for the next day or two and then remove it and clean the wound.
Once Beca and Charlotte met Chloe and Sophie, Chloe gave Charlotte a hug, a few kisses and asked her about her forehead. The little brunette was already feeling a whole lot better, but she was still a little scared.
Sophie pouted and felt scared for her sister, she held onto Chloe tighter, but Charlotte calmed her down, saying it wasn't as bad as it looked. She then announced they were eating at 'chick-a', which made Beca and Chloe chuckle lightly.
oO0Oo
"Shit! Chloe!"
Beca's voice was so loud it woke Charlotte up. The little brunette sat up and became scared when she heard her mother scream a bunch of profanities.
Sophie made her way into her sister's room quietly, pacifier in her mouth and her stuffed seahorse/unicorn in her arms. She walked closer to her sister's bed and Charlotte saw she was scared too.
"Fuck! Chloe!"
Charlotte jumped and Sophie hugged her stuffed animal tighter.
"We should see if mommy is alright." Charlotte said and Sophie nodded, reaching out her hand.
Charlotte got off her bed and grabbed Sophie's hand. The two walked quietly down the hall and made their way with slow, quiet steps to their mothers' bedroom. Charlotte quietly opened the door, but didn't see anything in the dark. She rubbed the wall until she found the light switch. When she turned the lights on, she found her mothers on the bed, naked, while Chloe had her head between Beca's legs.
There was a moment where Beca and Chloe froze, they didn't know what to do, how to react.
As gracefully as she could, Chloe raised her head from where it was and looked up at her wife, who was looking mortified. Beca ‒ though she was already rosy cheeked before ‒ was becoming redder than Chloe's hair and her eyes looked ready to pop out.
"Mommy?" Charlotte said quietly, a confused look on her face.
"Yes?" Beca said, her heart beating really fast.
"Why were you screaming?" Charlotte said.
Beca opened her mouth to answer but couldn't find the words. What exactly should she say?
"Mommy, mamma, why are you naked?" Charlotte turned her head, with the cutest puzzled look on her face.
Beca sat up and saw Sophie open her mouth ‒ consequently dropping the pacifier to the ground ‒ and grin, pointing at her.
"Boob!" she said and looked up at her sister, jumping up and down and in excitement.
"Boobs!" Charlotte threw her hands up and the two little girls started jumping in excitement.
Beca groaned and grabbed a pillow to cover her chest, Chloe immediately covered their bodies with the blanket.
Charlotte and Sophie came closer to the bed and climbed on it.
"Mamma, what were you doing to mommy?" Charlotte asked.
"Boob!" Sophie smiled when Beca accidentally dropped the blanket covering her torso.
"Oh, honey, that's.." Chloe trailed off, not knowing what to say. She realized that was the first time in minutes she'd spoken and her voice sounded a bit hoarse. "I.. I was.."
"That's an adult thing, honey." Beca jumped in and Chloe shot her a 'what are you doing?!' look and the brunette shrugged, as lost as the redhead.
"Why were you kissing mommy's girl parts, mamma? Did mommy have a boo boo?" Charlotte asked.
Beca and Chloe looked relieved, they looked at each other and thought they might as well go with it.
"Yeah, mommy had a boo boo and I was kissing it better." Chloe said.
"And I was screaming because it hurt.." Beca trailed off, wondering if it made sense or if that was gonna leave Charlotte even more scared.
"Oh." Charlotte said. "Okay."
The two women felt a hundred times better. They smiled at their daughters and they smiled back.
"Do you feel better, mommy?" Charlotte asked.
"Yeah." Beca said.
"Good." Charlotte said.
"So how about you and Sophie go back to bed, Char?" Beca asked.
"Okay." Charlotte said and got off the bed, Sophie following her. She grabbed her sister's hand and they waved at their mothers before getting out of the bedroom.
Chloe closed the door and made sure to lock it this time, falling into a laughing fit.
"Oh my God.. Ohmygod I can't believe our daughters caught us having sex!" Beca said. She looked up at Chloe and glared when she saw she was still laughing. "What's so funny?"
"Babe, she didn't think it was a big deal." Chloe said.
"Still! That is.. pedophilia!" Beca said.
Chloe rolled her eyes.
"Beca, stop being so dramatic, that's not pedophilia. One, we weren't forcing the girls to watch it, two, it was an accident, three, we didn't make them touch us or anything like that. They happened to catch us-" Chloe said.
"-Because you forgot to lock the door." Beca added.
Chloe sighed.
"Do you see my point? It was an accident, Beca." Chloe said, cupping her wife's cheeks. "It happens to lots of couples."
"Really?" Beca asked.
"Yeah, it happened to Zoe and Thomas once when Klaus was 4." Chloe said. "It's not the end of the world, but we have to be more careful. One day, they'll understand what sex is. Hell, they'll even have sex one da-"
"-What?!" Beca said, as if Chloe had grown not two but three heads. "Excuse me, my daughters won't have sex until they're thirty.. five!"
Chloe chuckled and rolled her eyes.
"Or hopefully ever!" Beca said. "And I mean it!"
"Yeah, yeah." Chloe rolled her eyes. "Let's just get to bed."
"Wait, what about my boo boo?" Beca asked and smirked.
Chloe looked at her and laughed.
"Thank God you didn't pout after that one, that would've been creepy!" Chloe laughed and kissed her wife's lips.
oO0Oo
Chloe finished doing Charlotte's hair and she smiled. She had done a waterfall braid and secured it with a white flower, since her little dress was red. She was wearing white shoes and Chloe was gonna put on a white jacket on her in case she got cold.
The scar from the stitches were still there, but it was fading. Besides, Charlotte didn't seem to mind, she was just so proud she was graduating.
"Oh my God, you look so pretty!" Beca said, covering her mouth, her eyes shining with tears.
"Beca, you don't need to cry yet, we didn't leave the house." Chloe rolled her eyes and Charlotte chuckled.
Beca chuckled and wiped a few tears that managed to escape. Sophie looked up at her from where she was standing next to Beca.
"I'm just so proud." Beca said.
"Mommy, I'm not dying." Charlotte said.
Chloe had a huge grin as she slowly turned to Beca, who looked even more surprised than she was.
"Did you hear that? That's your cue to stop crying." Chloe said.
"That's actually my cue to cry; my own daughter turning against me?" Beca said jokingly.
Chloe and Charlotte rolled their eyes at that one.
Sophie frowned and turned to Beca and raised her arms.
"Up." she said.
Beca picked her up and smiled. Sophie kissed her cheek and smiled at her. Beca chuckled and kissed her forehead.
"Aubrey and Stacie said they'd meet us there." Chloe informed as she stood up and smiled at Charlotte, who put one hand on her hip and the other was high up above her head as she grinned and said 'ta dah'.
Sophie clapped with a huge smile, as well as Chloe, while Beca couldn't clap because she was holding Sophie, but she smiled.
"Picture time!" Chloe said. "Come on, Char, let's go to the front porch."
The family went to the front porch, where they took pictures of Charlotte, Charlotte and Sophie, the girls and Beca and the girls and Chloe. They would get Aubrey or Stacie to take a picture of the four in Charlotte's graduation.
"Alright! Let's go!" Chloe said, looking through the pictures with a smile.
"Mamma, we're gonna be late!" Charlotte said.
"No, it's okay, honey, we're right on time." Chloe announced as she checked the time to see it was 10 past 9. They wanted to get there early so Charlotte could be handed to her teachers and get ready with the other kids.
Beca buckled Sophie and Charlotte in while Chloe closed and locked the door. She then typed a text to Aubrey and Stacie to let them know they were leaving before getting into the passenger seat.
"Let's go! Team Beale-Mitchell!" Beca said as she drove out of the driveway, receiving weird looks from her wife.
"What?" she laughed.
"Come on, we are the Beale-Mitchell family!" Beca said. "Team Beale-Mitchell!"
"Team Charlotte!" Charlotte said, throwing her hands up in the air.
"Boobs!" Sophie said, throwing her arms up.
"You're right, Soph. Mommy, we're Team Boobs!" Charlotte announced, smiling.
Beca wanted to slap her own forehead but couldn't because she was driving. Chloe was laughing and shaking her head beside her.
oO0Oo
Beca had Sophie on her lap, sitting beside her wife. Aubrey was sitting beside her and Stacie was sitting beside Aubrey. Chloe and Aubrey were talking animatedly while Beca was concentrated on getting the camera ready.
Chloe went to the restroom and, when she came back, Beca was gone, she'd left Sophie with Aubrey and was nowhere to be seen. She sat down and frowned as she looked at her best friend, her daughter quickly crawled onto her lap.
"Where is Beca?" she asked.
"Oh, one of the teachers came to talk to her and they just left. They went in." Aubrey said with a shrug.
"But what did they talk about? Did Charlotte need help?" Chloe asked.
"I don't know, they talked in private." Aubrey said.
Chloe sighed and grabbed the camera, hoping her wife would return when the ceremony started.
To her surprise, Beca didn't. She looked around and the brunette was nowhere to be found. She looked at the stage and the kids were all there, sitting in a semicircle facing the crowd of proud parents.
Chloe didn't listen to what the teachers and the principal was saying, she was busy looking around for Beca. She grabbed her phone and called her wife, instantly realizing that the brunette's phone was on the chair next to Chloe's, in her purse, where she'd left it.
"Come on, Beca." Chloe groaned.
"... and we're gonna have a very special performance by Charlotte's Beale-Mitchell's mother, Beca!"
Chloe's head snapped back to look at the stage in the small gymnasium and she spotted her wife taking a seat on a tall stool while holding a guitar.
"Hello." she said awkwardly.
"Mommy!" Sophie said and looked up at Chloe, pointing at her mother on stage.
"Yes, Sophie, that's mommy!" Chloe said, surprised.
"Hi mommy!" Sophie said and waved.
Beca spotted her and waved back before waving at Charlotte.
"This song is a song I wrote thinking about Charlotte. I guess everyone here can relate to it." Beca said before she began playing the guitar.
Chloe smiled as Beca sang her song Never Grow Up, her eyes watering ‒ as most parents' eyes were ‒ and she stared at Charlotte, turning to the crowd every once in a while.
When she was done, Charlotte stood from her seat and applauded loudly, screaming at the top of her lungs. Beca smiled, wiping some tears and the little brunette came running to give her a hug.
Beca kissed the top of her head and announced she should return to her seat, crying all the way.
Chloe gave Beca the biggest smile when she returned and kissed her passionately. Beca took her seat, her wife's hand and they both watched as Charlotte graduated.
Beca, of course, didn't stop crying, but Chloe didn't make fun or told her to stop. She understood the brunette. At first, Beca thought she was alone. She even thought about having an abortion! She was completely lost! Then there was the possibility that Charlotte might die, right after she was born. So seeing that little baby grow into a little girl, losing the tubes she was once connected to, was amazing. She could feel Beca's sadness and happiness at the same time.
I feel like a mother without a child because I have to research a bunch of things about child development and what to do when your child/toddler catches you and your partner having sex. I was kind of worried about that because 1. Beca and Chloe are a lesbian couple and 2. I was worried that this would traumatize Charlotte and Sophie or something.
