Beca smiled as she closed Safari on her laptop and shut it. She stood up and ran downstairs to where her wife was currently watching a movie with their daughters.
"Chloe, oh my God, I have some amazing news to tell you!" She said.
Chloe raised an eyebrow as Sophie and Charlotte paid attention to their brunette mother.
"It must be the best news ever because I rarely see you this giddy." Chloe joked, making Beca roll her eyes but she never lost her smile.
"Come on, I wanna tell you in private." Beca said.
"But mommy, Sophie and I wanna know too!" Charlotte said.
"You will, sweetie, now I wanna tell mamma." Beca said as Chloe followed her to the kitchen.
"What's the 'amazing' news?" Chloe asked using air quotes.
"Okay, so I felt guilty because of my tour–,"
"–Which you shouldn't, this is your career and I'm going to support you 100%." Chloe said.
"–so I booked us tickets to Maui, the hotel is paid for and we're staying for 5 days!" Beca said.
Chloe looked legitimately surprised and very happy at that. She had no reaction at first but then she wrapped her arms tightly around her wife's neck, hugging her.
"Beca… That's so amazing!" Chloe said and pulled apart. "So we're going to Hawaii?"
"We're going to Hawaii!" Beca nodded and Chloe kissed her and hugged her tight again.
"This is so cool, the girls are gonna love Hawaii!" Chloe said excitedly.
Beca's smile fell a little and she looked down at her feet, feeling guilty.
"I actually just booked two tickets.." She said.
"What? Beca–,"
"–I know, I thought about the girls and I was gonna bring them but I thought they're still too young and maybe we could go just the two of us and have like a second honeymoon…" Beca said timidly.
"Okay so where are Sophie and Charlotte staying?" Chloe crossed her arms.
It may not seem like it because Beca's very clingy when it comes to the girls, but Chloe hates leaving them out of something. She hates doing something without thinking about involving her daughters somehow.
"I– I talked to Stacie–,"
"–Beca!" Chloe stomped her foot in frustration.
"What? What? What did I do?" Beca asked, confused.
Chloe rubbed her temples at her wife's obliviousness.
"Beca, they just had a baby! How are they going to take care of two more?" Chloe asked.
"What? I know a newborn is time consuming but Stacie said it's okay, that her and Aubrey would love to have Sophie and Charlotte over for a few days." Beca said.
Chloe rubbed her temples again and took a deep breath before speaking,
"Of course she's gonna say it's okay, she probably didn't think it through." Chloe said.
"I asked to say it sincerely!"
"Beca, think about it: her and Aubrey are on cloud 9 now because of Joel, they're so happy they haven't thought that maybe it'll be too much to take care of Joel and Sophie and Charlotte." Chloe explained.
"Look I thought about it too, it was either Stacie and Aubrey or we fly the girls to Georgia to stay with either my dad and Sheila or my mom." Beca said.
"That is not an option either." Chloe said.
"Okay so what do you want? That we leave the girls at a hotel?" Beca asked, starting to feel angry and frustrated.
"Beca come on, they're not dogs." Chloe said.
"I know, but what do you want me to do?" Beca asked, frustrated.
Chloe sighed but didn't respond. She had no answer.
Beca just stared at her wife for a few minutes before she sighed.
"I'll go cancel the tickets." She said and walked, defeatedly out the kitchen and to the stairs.
Chloe felt horrible at seeing her wife's expression. It's not that she didn't want to go, she wanted to think of what was best for the girls as well.
She was snapped out of her thoughts by a sniffing red head poking on the kitchen door.
"Mamma." She said timidly, starting to tear up even more.
Chloe's heart broke at the sight and she knelt down, opening her arms. Sophie ran into her mother's arms. Chloe hugged her tight as Sophie cried quietly.
"What happened, honey? Are you scared because mommy and mamma were arguing?" Chloe asked and felt Sophie nod. "Honey, you don't have to be scared. Mommy and mamma fight sometimes but we love each other, okay? It's okay."
Sophie looked up at Chloe wiping her tears, calming a little bit.
"Are you feeling better, sweetie?" Chloe asked.
Sophie nodded and sniffed a few more times before Chloe hugged her again and kissed the top of her head.
"I have to talk to mommy, can you go stay with your sister?" she asked.
Sophie nodded and Chloe smiled and walked her to the living room. Sophie sat next to her sister on the couch and Chloe went upstairs to talk to her wife. She found her on her laptop, looking pretty concentrated. Chloe just shut the computer gently, making her wife look up at her with a confused look.
"What are you doing?" Beca asked.
Chloe sighed and took a seat beside Beca.
"I don't want you to cancel anything." Chloe said. "You did a nice, wonderful thing and I wanna go with you."
"But we can't, what about the girls?" Beca asked.
"I'm gonna call my mom and dad and ask them to stay for a few days. We have a guest room, it's only 5 days, they'll be happy to do it." Chloe said.
Beca didn't look convinced, she bit her bottom lip as she thought about the possibility.
"Beca, I'm sorry I yelled and I'm sorry it seemed like I was rejecting your– our trip." Chloe said. "I really wanna go, I don't want you to think that I don't."
Beca looked down and sighed. She waited a few minutes before looking up again.
"So does this mean you want to go?" Beca asked.
"I would love to go." Chloe smiled. "I hope you haven't canceled the tickets yet."
"No, I was just about to." Beca said. "So you really think your parents can stay?"
"I'll call them right now." Chloe stood up and grabbed her purse, taking out her cell phone.
Beca smiled and felt relieved. She opened her laptop again and closed Safari before turning her computer off.

Sophia, Mike and the girls went to the airport to say bye to the couple. It took some ‒ long ‒ explanation from Beca and Chloe to make Sophie understand that her mothers weren't going to stay away forever. She cried a lot in the first night but when she learned she was gonna stay with her grandparents, she became excited.
Beca and Chloe promised they'd Skype every night ‒ or at least everyday if they happened to have a date night.
Charlotte was a little sad, but she didn't wanna cry. She knew it would be fun to stay with her grandparents but she'd never been away from her mothers for a long time. Sure, there was their honeymoon but she was only 3 at the time.
"Be good for grandma and grandpa." Beca said, looking into Charlotte's dark blue eyes. "Mommy and mamma will be back soon, okay?"
"Okay." Charlotte said and hugged her mom tight.
Beca smiled and kissed the top of her daughter's head before moving to her youngest daughter. Sophie smiled and threw herself at Beca's arms and Beca hugged her tight.
"My little Red!" Beca said. "Are you gonna behave?"
Sophie nodded.
"Are you gonna throw a huge party when mamma and I come home?" Beca asked.
"Yes." Sophie nodded.
Beca smiled and kissed her forehead before putting her down.
"Good." she said.
Chloe had just finished thanking her parents. Beca also gave them a hug and thanked them for the thousandth time and they collected their bags.
They kissed their daughters one last time before they went in, waving.
When the were at the gate, they turned to each other and giggled before sharing a kiss.
"It's the first time in years we're alone." Beca said with a smile.
"Yeah." Chloe chuckled. "You know I can't believe we have two of the most amazing and beautiful daughters and.. we're a wonderful family!"
"Wonderful? Dude, we're an aca-fucking-awesome family!" Beca said.
"Don't say that near the girls. It's bad enough that our youngest daughter's first word was 'boob'." Chloe said as they took a seat to wait for their time to board.
"And that she thinks 'vazina' means lasagna." Beca said. "I don't know if she actually means 'vazina' or..."
"Let's hope she does." Chloe said with a chuckle.
Beca smiled and rested her head on the redhead's shoulder with a happy sigh.

The hotel Beca managed to book them was really nice, like really nice. If Beca wasn't a rising DJ, starting to make a name for herself with salaries higher and higher, Chloe was sure they wouldn't be able to afford it.
Beca did manage to get a reservation for them at a very nice restaurant for the next day because she knew they'd be pretty tired, so they'd eat dinner at the hotel and head straight to bed.
Beca finished unpacking and grabbed her laptop bag and put it away. She thought about Skyping with the girls but her and Chloe were so tired, said girl was already sleeping, so Beca just changed into a T-shirt and joined her wife on the bed.
The next day, with some protest from Beca, the couple went to the beach. See, Beca hated going to the beach because one, she'd put on sunscreen all over her body at least 5 times and she'd still get sunburn.
Chloe was tanning while Beca was wearing a hat and sunglasses, under the beach umbrella. She was putting some sunscreen on her face for the second time since they arrived.
"Beca stop being such a wuss and come lay in the sun with me!" Chloe said with a chuckle.
"I'm not a wuss, okay? If I get all red on the very first day, it'll ruin our little vacation." Beca said.
Chloe rolled her eyes. She then untied the back of her bikini top so she could tan her back. She carefully turned on her stomach.
Beca saw her phone ring and she saw she was receiving a FaceTime call from Sophia. She answered and smiled when her mother-in-law came on.
"Hey!" She said.
"Hey Beca! How are you guys?" Sophia asked.
"We're good, we're at the beach." Beca said and showed her Chloe sunbathing. "Your daughter can't come to the phone right now because she's busy turning into a tomato."
Sophia laughed and shook her head.
"How are my girls?" Beca asked with a smile.
"Our girls, Beca!" Chloe shouted from her chair.
"Sorry, our girls." Beca said.
"They're great. Sophie, Charlotte, wanna talk to mommy?" Sophia called.
Sophie and Charlotte came running and jumping. Sophia gave the phone to Charlotte, since she was older and understood what she was doing.
"Hi mommy!" Charlotte grinned and Beca smiled.
"Hey Char! I miss you already!" Beca said. "Mamma and I are at the beach!"
"Where's mamma?" Charlotte frowned and Beca turned and showed her. Chloe waved at the phone with a grin. "Hi mamma!"
"Char says hey!" Beca said, since she knew Chloe couldn't hear.
Chloe giggled and said she'd be right there.
Beca looked back at her oldest daughter and saw a little redhead behind her, trying to see.
"Hey Char, can I talk to Sophie?" Beca asked.
Charlotte nodded and carefully pointed the phone at her sister. Sophie looked at the screen and, when she saw her mother, she grinned.
"Mommy!" She said.
"Hey little Red!" Beca grinned.
"You doing?" Sophie asked.
"I'm at the beach with your mom." Beca said.
Chloe showed up beside her and waved at the screen with a huge smile, looking like a little kid.
"Mamma!" Sophie giggled and threw her arms up.
"Wait, I wanna see mamma too!" Charlotte said.
A few seconds later, both girls were showing, waving at their mothers.
"Hey girls!" Chloe said. "We miss you!"
"We miss you too!" Charlotte said.
"You doing?" Sophie asked.
Charlotte chuckled and rolled her eyes.
"Sophie learned to ask 'what are you doing' and now she wants to know what everyone is doing." She said.
"We're talking to you two." Chloe answered with a smile.
Sophie didn't seem satisfied with that answer but she kept quiet.
"We have to go, we have to eat lunch, we have a little sight seeing later on and a date tonight!" Beca said.
Charlotte frowned, for the first time noticing that her mother was wearing a beach dress.
"Mommy, why aren't you wearing a bikini?" She asked.
"Oh I am, underneath. But remember how mommy gets super red in the sun?" Beca asked.
Charlotte laughed.
"Yeah!" She said. "Tomato mommy!"
"That's why." Beca said.
Chloe chuckled and kissed her cheek.
"Okay, we have to go." Chloe said.
"Maybe we'll talk to you guys later today." Beca said.
"Okay." Charlotte pouted. "Bye mommy, bye mamma!"
"No bye!" Sophie said with a frown.
"Awwww I'll miss you too, Sophie!" Chloe said.
Sophie pouted and reached out for the screen.
"We love you." Beca said with a smile.
"We love you too!" Charlotte said.
Sophie buried her face in her sister's neck and started crying when Sophia hung up.
Chloe sighed and turned to her wife, who already had her purse, shoes and phone, all ready to go.
"You really are something." Chloe chuckled.
Beca just offered her a sheepish grin and Chloe gathered her stuff.
The two made it back to the hotel, changed out of their bikinis and went to town to eat lunch, did a little shopping (they bought a lot for the girls) and went back to the hotel to Skype a little with the girls before their date.
Chloe turned on Beca's computer and logged in on Skype while her wife showered. She had her dress picked out so she was gonna be quick. And they had time to spare so she wasn't worried.
Sophia answered again and chatted a little with her daughter, Mike even joined her before they let Chloe talk to her daughters.
Chloe giggled as Sophie showed her her new dance moves and Charlotte helped her.
Beca then passed by with a towel wrapped around her waist and she was using another to dry her hair. She noticed her wife was Skyping with their daughters and she – literally – shrieked, like high voice screaming, and threw herself on the ground.
"Damn it, Chloe!" Beca said.
Chloe was too busy laughing, along with Charlotte and Sophie, she couldn't think of what her wife wanted.
"Chloe!" Beca said, again, in her high voice.
"What?" Chloe asked, not seeing what she did wrong.
"You couldn't tell me you were Skyping with the girls?!" Beca asked.
"Beca, you're shrieking!" Chloe said. "And you couldn't tell I was talking to them? You know I don't talk to myself."
Beca rolled her eyes. Now she was lying on her stomach on the ground, both towels had fallen a few feet away from her, so she was naked.
"Beca, get dressed and come talk to your daughters." Chloe said.
"I can't! Not in front of the computer, I'm not that kind of woman!" Beca said.
Chloe rolled her eyes.
"Mamma, where's mommy?" Charlotte asked with a frown.
Chloe looked down and saw Beca crawling, almost walking on all fours, across the floor to the bed, naked. She threw her head back and laughed again.
Beca glared at her and grabbed one towel to try and save what was left of her dignity. She looked up at her laughing wife and gave her the finger.
"You're only laughing because I'm not crawling towards you." Beca said, giving her the finger again.
"Mommy doing?" Sophie asked, trying to find her mother on the screen.
"Mommy is being naughty." Chloe said, looking at Beca at the 'naughty' part, to emphasize it. "Giving me the finger and all."
"Slap her butt, mamma!" Charlotte said with a gasp.
Chloe chuckled.
Beca had managed to grab her underwear and shirt at least and she was struggling to put her underwear on from the ground. She groaned loudly in frustration. She was gonna sit up when she felt a sharp slap to her buttcheek.
"Ah!" She said, turning around to see Chloe sitting back down on the desk chair with a mischievous laugh.
"Yay mamma!" Charlotte said, clapping. "Mommy, stop being naughty or Santa won't get you presents!"
Beca rolled her eyes, finally putting on the rest of her clothes and standing up. She then joined her wife and sat on her lap.
"Hi mommy!" Charlotte grinned.
"Mommy!" Sophie grinned.
"Hey girls." Beca smiled. "My buttcheek is burning."
"You deserved it." Chloe said.
"Yeah." Charlotte and Sophie agreed.
"But if it were me, I would kiss it better, mommy." Charlotte said with a smile.
Beca made a face.
"That would've been a little creepy but thanks baby." Beca smiled.
Charlotte looked confused but didn't say anything.
"Mommy!" Sophie suddenly pouted.
"Sweetie, we miss you too." Beca said. "We love you, we'll be home soon, okay?"
Sophie nodded, but took a little longer to lose the pout.
Beca smiled and felt Chloe kiss her shoulder. Or the back of her shoulder.
"We'll be home soon, sweetie." Chloe agreed.
Sophie seemed to pout harder and her little blue eyes filled with tears.
"Don't cry Sophie, mommy and mamma are just gonna be gone for a few days and then they'll be back with lots of hugs and kisses for us!" Charlotte said.
Sophie looked at her sister with her hand on her face, the way babies do when they're about to cry. Charlotte hugged her tight to try to make her stop before she started crying.
Chloe and Beca smiled.
"It'll be okay, Sophie." Beca said.
"Yeah." Chloe said. "We'll be home before you know it."
Sophie wiped her tears and looked back at their moms on the screen.
"Now, Mrs. Beale-Mitchell, I think you better get ready." Beca said.
"But Mrs. Beale-Mitchell, you have to get off my lap for that." Chloe said and they heard Charlotte chuckle.
Beca pouted and Chloe threw her head back with a laugh.
"Okay. Char, Sophie, we have to hang up now." Chloe said to her daughters on screen.
Charlotte pouted.
"Okay." Charlotte said. "Bye mamma! Bye mommy! I love you!"
"Love you too!" Chloe and Beca said.
Charlotte hung up with a smile and Chloe turned to Beca.
"Let's go." she said, placing a kiss on her wife's lips.
