Duran-kun and Kiyo-chan's Omake Theater

(featuring the Kuga-Fujino family pets)

Natsuki sighed blissfully after she finished swallowing the last mouthful of noodles.

"I don't think I could eat another bite," she declared. "If I was any more stuffed you'd have to stop calling me your girlfriend and just put me on the shelf with the plushies."

Shizuru giggled.

"It's good that you stopped, then. I do not think there is enough room for a life-size Natsuki."

"Well, you'd probably take pity and snuggle me to sleep at night."

"And on that excellent segue to the topic of holding Natsuki in bed, I believe that it is time for the fortune cookies."

Duran's ears perked up and several of Kiyohime's heads lifted from where they'd been draped over his back. The steel canine and the hydra had not, it seemed, been napping, but instead biding their time for the moment that Shizuru's fortune turned after-dinner conversation to more physical forms of couples interaction, and leftovers were left undefended.

"This is your favorite part of take-out Chinese food, isn't it?" Natsuki groaned, mostly for form's sake.

"Natsuki's sweetness makes for an excellent dessert," Shizuru agreed.

"…Walked right into that one, didn't I? Okay let's hear how destiny carries on like a horny teenager this time."

Shizuru broke open her cookie and took out the fortune.

"Hmm. 'A very attractive person has a message for you.' What, I wonder, does Natsuki have to say? And will she deliver her message of love in words or make use of…other methods of communication?" She turned the full force of her beaming face on Natsuki, making the younger girl's stomach tremble despite her over-fullness.

"Let's see, then." Resolutely she broke open her own cookie and munched while she unfolded the paper. Her eyes flicked across the text, and then she cracked up laughing.

"What does it say?"

"You're right; it is a message for you. 'Patience is the best remedy for every trouble.'"

Shizuru pouted.

"Patience is not one of my better attributes when it concerns my Natsuki."

"Says the girl who took two years and a magic war to confess her feelings?"

"Precisely. I have already used up my lifetime's supply of Natsuki denial."

Natsuki laughed again.

"Well, this time you're at least going to have to wait until tonight, when I've had a chance to digest some of this dinner, since motion sickness isn't a fetish for either one of us. And as for you two," she added, turning to the CHILDs, "if you want to get into the leftovers this time, you'll have to sneak them out of the fridge at midnight like everyone else."
