After the two couples went back to LA, Beca and Chloe had Sophie's commercial shoot and Charlotte's episode of Our Sweet Life shoot, which were pretty close but not on the same day.
The producers called Chloe and said Charlotte had to be on set for three days, while Sophie's commercial shoot only took a few hours.
Beca had already received the script for The Last 5 Years and she was gonna dye her hair blonde before they started shooting.
Sophie's commercial shoot was the first thing and it was on a Saturday, so the whole family brought her to the set. The toddler was curious, she had never been anywhere near cameras or stuff like that.
Sophie pointed the cameras with a look of awe and made a sound.
"The Mitchell family!" A tall, middle aged guy said as he came to greet them.
"We're the Beale-Mitchell family." Beca corrected.
"Oh yes, sorry." He said. "I'm Jerry, the director, I believe I spoke to one of you on the phone."
"Oh yes, that was me." Beca said. "I'm Beca."
Jerry shook hands with Beca and smiled. He then greeted Chloe and Charlotte before turning to Sophie.
"And hello, Sophie!" He said.
Sophie looked at Beca, as if asking for permission to talk to this stranger.
"That's okay, Soph." Beca said.
Sophie turned to Jerry and smiled.
"Hi!" She said.
"Hello sweetie!" Jerry said. "Come here, I wanna introduce you guys to Frank, he's the one who's gonna play Sophie's dad."
"Excuse me, tall man." Charlotte said before they could go any further. "My sister and I don't have a daddy, we have mommy and mamma. We don't want a daddy."
Jerry smiled and knelt down to Charlotte's eye level.
"I know, sweetie. Frank is not gonna be your dad, he's gonna pretend to be Sophie's dad for the commercial." Jerry said. "Okay?"
"Okay then." Charlotte said.
Jerry smiled and stood up.
Frank turned out to be a really funny guy and Sophie loved him, so Beca and Chloe were happy about that. They wanted her to feel comfortable with the guy who was gonna play her dad.
"Okay, we're gonna film separately so Sophie won't need to be here all day. First, we're gonna film Frank and his speech, then Sophie's parts." Jerry explained to everyone.
"I do?" Sophie asked.
"You, sweetie, are gonna sit on that couch there, see?" Jerry asked and pointed a brown leather couch. "And when I say, you're gonna look up and go 'yay!' and give us thumbs up."
"Yaaay!" Sophie threw her arms up in celebration and the whole crew laughed.
"And you can say 'you go'?" Jerry asked.
"Go go!" Sophie said.
"That's great." Jerry said with a smile.
Sophie sat on Chloe's lap and played with her unicorn/seahorse while they filmed Frank's part. It didn't take a very long time and soon, the makeup woman called Chloe so she could put a little bit of powder on Sophie's skin so the glow wouldn't show on camera.
Sophie giggled while Clara put makeup on her and she loved the brushes. At first, Beca was worried, she didn't want her 2-year-old to wear makeup but Clara explained it was just basic and it wouldn't even show she was wearing makeup on camera.
Chloe sat Sophie on the couch and Jerry even let her bring her seahorse/unicorn, so Sophie played with it happily while her mothers and sister stood behind Jerry.
"Sophie, now can you look up?" Jerry asked.
Of course, the first three times they tried, Sophie didn't look up. But when Charlotte called her, she did.
Charlotte threw her arms up and Sophie mirrored her with a huge grin.
"Yaaaaay!" Sophie said.
Charlotte made gestures and pushed Beca away so Sophie would understand.
"Go go!" She threw her arms up.
Then Charlotte gave her thumbs up and Sophie tried mirroring her, but it didn't go so well. Of course, she still grinned.
"Cut!" Jerry said. "That was awesome!"
Sophie grinned and clapped happily.
"You, little lady, could be my assistant." Jerry said to Charlotte.
"Thanks, mister but I wanna be a singer." Charlotte said.
Jerry, Beca and Chloe laughed while Charlotte grinned.
"Okay, now we need just a quick shot of Frank holding Sophie and waving at the camera and we're done." Jerry said.
"Okay." Beca said.
The last part only took one take to shoot so the family was free to go. Chloe dropped Beca and Sophie off at home while her and Charlotte went to the store to buy a few things.
The first thing Beca did when she got home was take Sophie's makeup off while the toddler giggled.
"I'm gonna cut up a banana, are you hungry, Soph?" Beca asked.
"Yes." Sophie said.
"Okay." Beca grabbed her hand and went to the kitchen. She cut up the banana and put it in one of Sophie's pink Frozen bowls and gave it to Sophie, who grabbed it and happily skipped to the living room to eat at the coffee table.
Beca grabbed an apple for herself and a spoon for Sophie before joining her in the living room.
"Here, Soph, use your spoon." Beca said.
The two ate silently and, to her surprise, Sophie finished before Beca, so she put her bowl down and went upstairs to play.
Beca finished her apple, tossed the remains in the trash and washed Sophie's bowl before she heard the toddler calling her upstairs.
"Sophie? Soph? Are you okay baby?" Beca asked and entered Sophie's room, only to see the redheaded toddler wasn't there. "Soph?"
Beca looked for Sophie in Charlotte's room but only found her in her and Chloe's closet. She had the biggest grin and she stood proudly in Chloe's black heels.
"What are you doing, baby?" Beca asked with a chuckle.
"I'm mamma Coe!" Sophie threw her arms up.
Beca smiled lovingly at her child before an idea sparked in her head.
"Wait, Soph, don't move." Beca quickly got the camera and took about 10 different pictures of Sophie. "We need to show these to mamma."
"Yaaay!" Sophie said with a grin.
Beca smiled again and walked away to put the camera down. She wasn't even gone for one whole minute when she heard a thud and then Sophie started crying loudly.
"Oh my God! Sophie? Baby, are you okay?" Beca sat on the ground and grabbed Sophie's head.
"Boo boo." Sophie said while crying and pointed her forehead.
"That's alright baby." Beca kissed her forehead and held the crying child. "Does it hurt, baby?"
Sophie nodded and continued crying. Beca held her tight and sighed, thinking of a way to get her to stop crying. She looked up and spotted her old top hat she wore one Halloween before Sophie was born and had an idea.
Beca picked Sophie up and put her on her bed before grabbing the top hat.
"Sophie! Sophie, look at me!" Beca said. "I'm Mommy, the Magician!"
Beca made an excited face and Sophie just sniffed while she watched her.
"Can I get a 'yaaay'?" she asked.
Sophie didn't do anything but she stopped crying.
"Okay, she stopped crying. We're on the right path, Mitchell. I mean, Beale-Mitchell." Beca rolled her eyes and laughed. "I always forget."
Sophie paid attention to her and Beca straightened up.
"Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls welcome!" Beca said. "You are going to be blown away by my magic tricks."
Sophie paid close attention and Beca froze in place, trying to think of a magic trick. She barely knew any magic tricks.
"Okay, I'm gonna need a straw!" Beca said and ran to the kitchen quickly to get a straw and a toothpick. "I am going to show you my amazing telekinesis skills using this straw!"
Sophie's mouth formed an 'o' shape as Beca placed the straw on the ground in front of her and sat down.
"Now… straw in movement!" Beca looked down at the straw and it moved towards her.
Sophie gasped as she looked at her mother.
"Now go to Sophie!" Beca said and looked down at the straw and it rolled towards the bed.
Sophie looked at her mother with a very excited and surprised look while Beca smiled.
"Now on to my next trick." Beca stood up and turned so her back was facing Sophie. "I'm gonna need my assistant to say the magic words!"
Sophie didn't say anything, she was just trying to see what her mother was doing, so Beca laughed.
"Okay, no magic words." she said and turned around, holding a toothpick. "This is the disappearing toothpick."
"Oooh!" Sophie said and sat on her feet, closer to the edge of the bed.
"Now I'm holding it." Beca said. "But I just do my little magic dance," Beca did a little dance and Sophie giggled. "and bam! Where is it?"
The toothpick disappeared when Beca opened her hand and Sophie gasped. She looked at the ground and the toothpick wasn't there, which made her look at Beca.
"Where is it?" Beca asked.
"Whewe?" Sophie mirrored Beca's expression and even raised her arms as if she was asking 'where is it?'.
"Now I do my little magic dance." Beca said and did the little dance again.
"Where is the toothpick?!"
Beca jumped and stumbled on her own feet at the voice of her oldest daughter. She put her hand on her heart and glared as Charlotte and Chloe laughed, both standing on the doorway.
"Sorry, babe, I thought you heard us come in." Chloe said.
"Don't scare the magician!" Beca said and stood up. "Anyway..."
Beca stood up and took a few deep breaths.
"Go go!" Sophie threw her arms up excitedly.
"The toothpick is right.. Here." Beca said, making a movement that looked like she grabbed the toothpick from thin air as the toothpick was between her thumb and forefinger and the other three clapped.
"Why are you doing magic tricks, Beca? I've never seen you do that." Chloe asked.
"Oh Sophie was crying because she had a boo boo so I tried to cheer her up." Beca said.
"Mommy, do more tricks!" Charlotte said.
Beca offered her a sheepish grin.
"Sorry Char, I don't know any more tricks." She said.
"Awwww!" Sophie said and pouted.
"Mommy, you suck at magic." Charlotte said laughing.
"Hey!" Beca said with a frown while her two daughters and wife laughed. "Don't say that to Mommy, the Magician, I'm going to teleport you to China!"
Charlotte laughed.
"Mommy, you don't even have a wand!" Charlotte said.
Beca didn't know what to say to that but when she opened her mouth, Charlotte had run off.
Sophie crossed her arms and made her mad face.
"I'm going to help you, mommy." Charlotte said when she returned, wearing a top hat herself, white gloves and holding a wand.
"Yaaaay!" Sophie grinned and clapped.
Chloe smiled and climbed on the bed next to Sophie, who immediately climbed onto her lap.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome! I'm Charlotte, the Magician—,"
"— Wait a minute, young lady, you totally stole my artistic name!" Beca said.
"Your name is lame, mommy." Charlotte said.
"What does that say about your name if you copied it off of mine, huh?" Beca shot back and Charlotte was confused.
"We're the Beale-Mitchell Magicians!" Charlotte said.
"That sounds a lot better." Beca said with a smile and a nod.
Chloe chuckled at their little exchange before Charlotte began talking about a magic she was going to do.
"Come closer, Sophie." Charlotte said and Sophie crawled closer to the edge of the bed. "Now mamma, you say 'Char shazam!'"
"Char shazam!" Chloe said.
Charlotte made a fist and put her thumb between her fingers and showed it to her sister.
"I have your nose!" Charlotte said.
Sophie's eyes widened and she started crying loudly, which took the entire family by surprise. Chloe immediately hugged her and Charlotte became nervous and worried about her sister.
"It's okay, Soph, it's just a magic trick!" Charlotte said when her sister's cries lowered. "I'll put it back!"
Charlotte gently pretended to put her nose back and Sophie stopped crying, putting her hands on her nose.
"Okay?" Charlotte asked.
Sophie nodded but made her mad face and crossed her arms as she looked at her sister.
"Bad." Sophie said.
"Sorry, Soph, I won't do that again." Charlotte said.
"How about we start getting ready? Today we're going to a place I think Sophie will love!" Beca said.
"Yes! Sophie, guess where we're going!" Charlotte said.
Sophie made a thinking face.
"Aca moly!" She said with a grin.
"No."
Sophie pouted but thought again.
"Pita?" She said with an even bigger grin.
"Yes!" The other three said.
"Peponi? Motela? Ceese?" Sophie asked.
"Yeah, we can have any kind we like." Chloe said. "Wanna go take a shower?"
"Yes!" Sophie said and hopped off of the bed.
"We're going in a second." Beca said, winking at Charlotte, because she just wanted to continue playing Magicians.
"If we're late, it'll be on you, Beca Grace!" Chloe said, already out of the room with Sophie.
"Beca Gay!" Sophie's excited voice could be heard down the hall and Charlotte and Beca laughed.
"She's right, we can't be late. Why don't we help each other pick out our clothes?" Beca asked.
"Okay." Charlotte said and ran to her mothers' closet.
oO0Oo
When Beca had to get her hair dyed, Chloe stayed home with the girls. Beca was taking quite some time in the salon — Chloe thought it was probably due to her stubborn ways — so Chloe already started dinner and she'd bathed Sophie, since Charlotte wanted to wait for Beca to get home to take a shower.
"Mamma, I'm hungry." Charlotte said with a pout.
"I know, baby, I'm hungry too but we have to wait for mommy and she just texted me saying she's on her way." Chloe said.
Charlotte pouted but looked back at the TV.
Chloe sighed and checked her phone and saw no messages or calls from Beca, so she just sighed and continued watching the cartoon the girls were watching.
"Mamma, I hunggy." Sophie said with a pout, pointing at her belly.
"I know, baby." Chloe said and heard keys in the hallway. "Mommy's home!"
Charlotte ran to the door while Chloe stood up and turned off the TV with a giggle when she heard Charlotte say 'woooow'.
"You look so different, mommy!" Charlotte said.
Sophie grinned and ran to the hall, Chloe right behind her, but she frowned when Sophie suddenly stopped dead in her tracks with a frown.
"Hey Sophie!" Beca said. She was kneeling on the ground, her arm around Charlotte's shoulders.
Sophie didn't move, she just stared at Beca with a suspicious look. Chloe chuckled and knelt down next to Sophie.
"You don't recognize her? It's mommy, Sophie!" Chloe said.
"Mommy?" Sophie asked.
"Yeah, it's me!" Beca said.
Charlotte played with Beca's blonde hair with a chuckle while Sophie took a step towards Beca.
"You no mommy." Sophie said with her mad face.
"Sophie, it is mommy!" Chloe said.
"She just looks like Aunt Aubee!" Charlotte said. "Come closer!"
Beca opened her arms and Sophie slowly walked towards her mother. She took a good look at the woman's face before breaking into a huge grin.
"Mommy!" she said, making the entire family laugh.
"Yes!" Beca said while giggling.
Sophie grabbed Beca's hair gently and giggled.
"Mommy." she repeated, as if reassuring herself that it was in fact her mother standing there.
"Yeah." Beca giggled again.
"Mommy!" Sophie giggled and hugged Beca tight.
Charlotte hugged Beca too while Chloe filmed everything with her phone while laughing.
"Who is that, Sophie?" Chloe asked.
"Mommy!" Sophie answered with a huge smile.
"What do you think of mommy's hair?" Chloe asked.
"I think she looks like Aunt Aubee." Charlotte said. "But I like it."
"What about you, Soph?" Chloe asked.
"Mommy!" Sophie exclaimed before laughing and hugging Beca again.
"Mommy, I wanna go blonde too!" Charlotte said.
"Oh baby your hair is so beautiful!" Chloe said.
"Mommy is just doing that for a movie, baby." Beca said.
Sophie opened her mouth and laughed loudly before hugging Beca again while looking at Chloe.
"Mommyyyy!" She said.
"I just wanna go blonde so Sophie can say my name like that!" Charlotte said.
Chloe and Beca laughed.
"Mommy." Sophie whispered and Beca turned to look at her which made her laugh again. "Mommyyyy!"
Chloe smiled at how amused their daughter was at seeing Beca with blonde hair.
