Getting home, Beca took Sophie straight up to her room to get her into some comfy clothes, get her hair up and wash her mouth.
"Beca? Beca, how was it? What did the doctor say?" Chloe asked, coming into Sophie's room.
"They said she's gonna feel nauseous for the next few hours or even couple or days. She threw up, so I'm getting her into comfy clothes." Beca said. "The doctor recommended soup."
"I'm gonna make her some chicken noodle soup." Chloe said.
"Thanks baby!" Beca said, putting the shirt on Sophie.
The redhead still looked a little pale but she stopped looking dizzy and drunk. It's horrible when you see your 2-year-old acting drunk.
"Mommy." Sophie said.
"You need to throw up, baby?" Beca asked.
Sophie nodded. Beca immediately picked her up and took her to the bathroom. She didn't have time to put her down, she just held her in the air, head aiming to the toilet as she threw up. Sophie threw up a lot and burped. It was horrible because when she'd try to breathe, she'd throw up again.
When she was done, she was crying very hard. Beca sat her on the sink, wiping her own tears, and washed her mouth.
"It's gonna be okay, baby." Beca said, holding her daughter close.
Sophie held onto her mother while she cried.
"Wanna go downstairs to eat?" Beca asked.
Sophie nodded.
"Sowwy mommy." She sobbed.
"Awwww my baby!" Beca held her tight, almost sobbing herself.
Beca then picked Sophie up and brought her downstairs to the living room and sat on the couch, holding her close.
"Mamma said Sophie is gonna need this." Charlotte said, placing a green bucket next to Beca.
"Thanks Char." Beca said. "You're such a great big sister."
Charlotte offered her a small smile, which disappeared when Sophie had to throw up again. Beca was crying and shaking herself, Sophie was crying because she hated throwing up and Charlotte started crying because she was scared.
"Sophie?" Chloe came into the living room and saw her youngest daughter finishing throwing up and her wife and oldest daughter in tears. "Girls, girls."
Charlotte looked up at her mother while Beca wiped Sophie's mouth with a napkin.
"Girls, Sophie is gonna be okay. She's throwing up because she's putting the alcohol out." Chloe said. "As soon as she stops, she's gonna eat some soup, drink some water and she's gonna feel a little better, okay?"
Charlotte nodded and wiped her tears.
"Mamma." Sophie whined, crying, reaching out for Chloe.
Chloe picked her up and kissed the top of her head.
"It's gonna be okay, baby." Chloe said.
"No mowe." Sophie cried.
"I know you hate throwing up baby, but your body is putting the bad stuff out." Chloe said. "Let's wait a little bit before eating okay? Your soup isn't ready yet."
"Otay." Sophie said.
"Okay." Chloe said. "Beca, why are you crying?"
"It's my fault, I should've been watching her. I hate seeing my girls this sick." Beca said.
"Beca, it was not your fault." Chloe said. "And it wasn't Sophie's fault either, it could've happen to anyone. She's gonna be fine, okay? You can go wash your face, I'm gonna stay here with Sophie in case she needs to throw up."
"Okay." Beca wiped her tears and stood up, going to the bathroom.
Sophie stopped throwing up, but she still looked weak because she hadn't eaten anything in 5 hours and what she had in her stomach, she threw it all up, so Chloe took her to the kitchen and sat her on her high chair while she finished with the soup.
"Are you hungry, baby?" Chloe asked when Beca came back. It took her some good 20 minutes to wash her face and calm down but Chloe understood her.
Sophie nodded, rubbing her eyes.
Chloe poured some soup into a bowl, put Sophie's pink spoon and put it in front of her so she could feed it to her. She first tried some to make sure it wasn't too hot before feeding it to her daughter.
Beca sat with them for a while, just watching Sophie before Charlotte joined and sat on Beca's lap.
"Mamma, I'm hungry too." Charlotte said.
"Do you want some soup?" Chloe asked.
Charlotte thought about it for a while, and the lack of response answered Chloe.
"Want me to make you an omelet?" Beca asked.
"Yes!" Charlotte said.
"With some broccoli?" Beca asked.
Charlotte pouted, but Beca raised an eyebrow and gave her a look.
"Okay." Charlotte said.
"You can help me make it." Beca offered.
Charlotte didn't complain a lot about eating veggies. Beca thought maybe it was because she'd always liked cooking with them and she loved preparing the vegetables so she had no huge problem eating them. Of course, she didn't love all of them but Chloe explained to her that nobody likes all the vegetables, she would like some, not like others but the important thing was that she at least tried as many as possible.
Sophie finished all her soup and asked for more, which made both her mothers very happy. Chloe happily fed her more soup while Beca and Charlotte prepared the girl's omelet.
Sophie, of course, looked at the two brunettes preparing the omelet and pointed, making a noise. Chloe was very sorry she had to say no.
"I'm sorry baby, the doctor said you have to eat soup tonight okay? We'll give you some medicine today for your tummy and if you're feeling better tomorrow, you can eat an omelet." Chloe said.
Sophie looked confused but she finished eating her soup and Chloe grinned.
"You finished, baby!" she said. "Wanna go take a nice shower?"
Sophie nodded. Chloe put the bowl in the sink and took Sophie out of her high chair.
"Do you guys mind?"
"No, mamma. Go ahead." Charlotte said with a smile.
"Thanks my princess." Chloe smiled.
"I'll clean the kitchen, babe." Beca said.
"No way, I'm gonna give Sophie a bath and come clean it up. You took them to the dentist, you took Sophie to the ER, you're tired, I'll do it." Chloe said.
"I wanna help you." Charlotte said.
"That's right, Char, you should help your mother." Beca said with a smile. "You're such a good girl."
Charlotte grinned.
"Thanks, Char." Chloe said with a smile to her oldest daughter before doing upstairs.
oO0Oo
Chloe woke in the middle of the night by something poking her thigh. She rubbed her eyes and looked up to see her wife sleeping peacefully next to her.
"Mamma?"
Chloe looked back and saw Sophie standing next to the bed, rubbing her eye with a pout.
"Hey baby, what is it? Do you need to throw up?" Chloe asked.
Sophie shook her head and reached both arms in Chloe's direction, obviously sleepy.
"Aww, come here baby." Chloe picked her up and placed her between herself and Beca. "Better?"
Sophie nodded and snuggled up to Chloe, who smiled and pulled her closer. Sophie definitely had the Beale gene for human contact.
Sophie fell asleep quickly and Chloe was partly worried she would throw up but that didn't happen, she slept through the night, which Chloe was very thankful for.
Now, Sophie and Charlotte usually woke up at around 7. On this day, only Charlotte woke up at 7 and woke her mothers because she wanted breakfast. Beca got up and went downstairs to make breakfast.
Chloe needed to be at work at 9, so she got up shortly after that and went straight to the kitchen to talk to her wife.
"Hey babe, what time to do you have to be in the studio?" Chloe asked.
"Well I don't have a specific time." Beca said. "Why?"
"Sophie's not awake yet and I need to go to work so why don't I drop Char off at school so you can stay with Sophie? I don't wanna wake her yet." Chloe said.
"Sure, sure." Beca said.
"Thanks baby." Chloe said. "I'm gonna take my shower."
Beca smiled and Chloe kissed her cheek before going upstairs.
"Mommy why did you name me Charlotte?" Charlotte asked curiously.
Beca frowned and thought.
"I don't know, I thought Charlotte was a great, beautiful name." Beca smiled. "And I wanted my daughter to be named Charlotte."
"That's cool." Charlotte said. "I like my name. The royal princess's name is Charlotte!"
"I know but I named you Charlotte first." Beca said and Charlotte laughed. "And you are so much prettier than her."
Charlotte smiled and blushed.
"You know, Char, you were born at 7 months." Beca said.
"What's that?" Charlotte asked with a frown.
"Most babies are born when they're mommies are 9 months pregnant. But you were born when I was 7 months pregnant." Beca said. "And sometimes that's dangerous, that's why you had to stay in the hospital when you were born."
"Ooh!" Charlotte said.
"I was born when grandma was 8 months pregnant." Beca said. "So when I found out I was pregnant, I was worried."
"Were you worried I was gonna die?" Charlotte asked.
Beca froze, thinking back to the time where her daughter was born. She was barely conscious from the C-section when she asked about her daughter and the doctor explained that she was taken to the NICU. She remembered when she was more awake, she asked about Charlotte and the doctor said that Charlotte was too little and she couldn't even breathe on her own yet, so they were worried.
"That was my biggest fear." Beca said before turning to Charlotte. "The doctors weren't sure you were gonna make it through the night."
"Wow." Charlotte said.
Beca chuckled. Of course, Charlotte didn't quite understand the dangers of a premature baby so all she said was 'wow'.
"Mommy… is Sophie gonna be okay?" Charlotte asked.
"Baby, Sophie spent the whole night with us last night and she was fine. She's still asleep now." Beca said. "Your sister is fine."
Charlotte looked relieved.
Beca placed the pancakes on her plate and went to the fridge to grab some honey and syrup.
Chloe came back fresh out of the shower, her hair was wet and combed and she looked happy.
"Sophie still asleep?" Beca asked.
"Like a baby." Chloe said and sat next to Charlotte to eat breakfast.
"Mamma, can we make muffins?" Charlotte asked, her hands and face covered with syrup.
"Sure." Chloe said.
"Yaay!" Charlotte grinned and continued eating her pancakes.
"Char, have you thought about cutting your bangs?" Beca asked as she looked at Charlotte.
"No." Charlotte said.
"We have to schedule an appointment for you to cut your hair, maybe we can cut your bangs? It'll be cute." Beca said.
Charlotte didn't answer, she was too busy eating her third pancake.
"We'll think about it." Beca said to herself while Charlotte enjoyed her pancakes while she kicked her feet happily under the chair.
The three finished eating breakfast and Chloe went to her bathroom to finish getting ready while Beca took Charlotte to her room to help her pick an outfit.
Charlotte was very sure of herself, she chose her outfit everyday, Beca and Chloe would sometimes help her because a 7-year-old's sense of style wasn't always the best.
Chloe will never forget the day Charlotte came down wearing a white converse on one foot and a pink sandal on the other. Beca, of course, had to leave to room so she wouldn't laugh in her daughter's face. Charlotte, however, stood proudly and said she wasn't gonna change. She inherited the stubborn ways from her mother so it took about 20 minutes of talking for her to finally change the shoes and put two of the same pair.
Fortunately, Charlotte chose a decent outfit today, so Beca helped her tie her shoes and pack her bag before going downstairs.
"Chlo? Char is gonna be late for school!" Beca said.
"Mamma is a perfeccist." Charlotte said.
"She's a what?" Beca asked.
"A perfeccist, those people who want to be perfect all the time." Charlotte said.
"Oh a perfectionist!" Beca said. "Yeah, she kind of is."
"Yeah. She doesn't need to be, mamma is already perfect." Charlotte said.
Beca smiled.
"She is." she said.
"You could be like her, mommy." Charlotte said, holding the straps of her backpack that was on her back.
"What does that mean?" Beca asked.
"You're perfect, too, mommy. But sometimes you say too many bad words." Charlotte said.
Beca laughed. She loved how kids that age didn't mean to offend, especially Charlotte.
"You're right. I'm gonna try to curse a little less." Beca said.
"Okay. Can you help me do a braid tomorrow for school?" Charlotte asked. "I told Alice and Maya that you could do it and they wanna see it."
"Sure I can. A regular braid?" Beca asked.
"No, a braid like Elsa's." Charlotte said.
"Yeah I can do it." Beca said and Charlotte smiled. "Chloe!"
Chloe came running down the stairs — in heels — and all dressed and ready. Beca still had no idea how she managed to run in heels.
"Sorry, let's go." Chloe kissed her wife with a smile. "Please be wearing a bra when I come home."
"Yeah mommy, don't leave your boobs hanging." Charlotte said, walking out the door.
Beca raised an eyebrow and looked at Chloe, who was almost laughing.
"Where did she learn that?" she asked.
"I have no idea." Chloe said. "But she's right, change into something other than a T-shirt and underwear. Though I don't really mind what you're wearing."
Beca grinned and hid behind the door so the neighbors — or paparazzi — wouldn't see her.
"Bye! Bye Char, have a nice day at school!" Beca said.
"Bye mommy!" Charlotte said.
Chloe blew her a kiss before she went into the car. Beca closed and locked the door before going upstairs.
Beca grabbed her laptop and went to the living room, working on some songs while she waited for Sophie to wake up.
Beca ended up falling asleep but she woke up at the sound of her own phone ringing. She picked it up and talked to Mike for a little while, explaining the situation and he was gonna email her some things he wanted her to work on.
At around 9, Beca went upstairs to get changed. She was putting on her sweatpants when she saw her youngest daughter was now sitting on the bed looking at her.
"Look who's awake!" Beca said with a smile.
Sophie grinned and reached out her arms in her mother's direction. Beca sat on the bed and kissed Sophie's forehead.
"Are you feeling better, Soph?" she asked.
Sophie nodded.
"Does your tummy hurt?" Sophie shook her head. "Are you hungry? We have some delicious pancakes."
"Papcakes." Sophie said.
"You want pancakes?"
"Pancakes." Sophie said.
"Yes! You said pancakes! Give me five!" Beca held out her hand and Sophie hit both hands against it with a huge grin. "Let's go eat some mean pancakes."
Beca picked her up and went to the kitchen. She placed her on her high chair and made some more pancakes.
"Pancakes." Sophie said.
"They're coming." Beca said. "Do you want some juice?"
"Yes." Sophie said.
"What's the magic word?" Beca asked.
"Pease." Sophie said.
Beca smiled and poured some orange juice for Sophie on her pink nursing bottle. Sophie grabbed it by the handles and drank her juice.
Beca decided to put some cut up bananas with Sophie's pancakes, she thought syrup would still be too much for her little stomach.
"I'm gonna text mamma later to let her know you ate up all your breakfast." Beca said.
Sophie finished eating her pancakes and bananas and she smiled at Beca. The brunette smiled back and stood up. She kissed Sophie's head and grabbed her plate to wash it.
"Mommy, we zance?" Sophie asked.
"You wanna dance?" Beca asked.
"Yes." Sophie grinned.
"Okay." Beca said. "Mommy's gonna work on some music and you can dance."
"Yaaay!" Sophie grinned.
Beca grabbed her face and kissed her all over.
"I'm so glad you're okay, Sophie." she said. "I love you so much."
"Wove you too." Sophie said.
Beca smiled. Sophie had just learned to say 'I love you' and it was the cutest thing, she would say at random times to Charlotte, Chloe and Beca and they would all hug her and kiss her and say they loved her too.
oO0Oo
Beca and Sophie spent practically the entire day listening — in Sophie's case, dancing — to music.
At some point, Beca took Sophie to the park so both could get some exercise and Sophie loved it.
When Chloe came home, she went upstairs to change into comfy clothes, Charlotte asked Beca's help with homework and Chloe went to the living room to greet Sophie, who was quietly and happily drawing.
"My baby!" Chloe said, sitting next to Sophie on the ground.
"My mamma!" Sophie said with her trademark huge grin.
Chloe hugged her tight and kissed her face several times.
"Are you feeling better, baby? Did you throw up today?" Chloe asked.
"No." Sophie said. "No bad tummy."
"That's good." Chloe said.
"We zance?" Sophie asked.
"Do you wanna dance?" Chloe asked.
Sophie nodded eagerly.
"How about you dance after you finish your beautiful drawing?" Chloe asked.
"Yes!" Sophie said and looked back down at her drawing.
Now, Chloe and Beca first thought Charlotte was a lefty and Sophie was a righty, she did things with her right hand most of the times but she'd been showing she also used her left hand. Now was an example, she was coloring with her left hand.
Sophie had Chloe and Beca's genes, so when they saw she could also do things with her left hand, they assumed she was ambidextrous. Of course, Sophie didn't write yet. At her age, Charlotte also drew and colored with both hands, sometimes she'd hold the crayons with both hands at the same time.
Beca and Chloe didn't mind if Sophie was a lefty or a righty or both, but they knew that ambidextrous children had higher risks of developing symptoms of ADHD and have problems at school. Beca even read something linking ambidextrous children to dyslexia, so they became very worried.
The girls' pediatrician, Dr. Ava, told them not to worry. They wouldn't know for sure if Sophie was in fact ambidextrous until she started writing. And if she turned out to be, she told them not all ambidextrous had ADHD and problems in school, after all, ambidextrous people are very rare and the researches lack people with that trait.
"Look mamma!" Charlotte came downstairs with her notebook open. "Mommy helped me with homework! She helped me understand math!"
"That's excellent, Char!" Chloe said.
"Mamma, song!" Sophie said, putting the crayon down.
"Can you put all the crayons back in the case first please?" Chloe asked and Sophie started putting the crayons back. "Thank you."
"Mamma, can I eat a snack?" Charlotte asked.
"Sure, eat some fruit." Chloe said. "Mommy is gonna make some veggies for dinner."
"Okay." Charlotte said. She put her homework on the couch and went to the kitchen.
Beca came back all showered, wearing her sweatpants and the T-shirt she wore to sleep.
"Sophie wants to dance." Chloe said.
"Oh that's great!" Beca said. "That's basically all she did today."
Chloe chuckled.
"She's gonna love ballet." Chloe said.
"She most certainly will." Beca chuckled. She sat on the couch, going through her playlists on her computer to choose a song.
Beca finally put on a song and smirked when Sophie lit up.
"Beca! Not that song!" Chloe said though she chuckled.
"What? Why?"
"I don't want my 2-year-old dancing to 'Work'!" Chloe said.
"Babe, she loves this song!" Beca said.
Sophie started dancing and singing along when the song began.
"Wok wok wok wok wok wok" she sang, "wok wok wok wok wok wok, da da da da da da"
"Dude, what the heck is Rihanna even singing?!" Beca asked.
"I don't know, but Sophie's nailing it." Chloe said.
"Wa wa wa wa wa wa" Sophie continued singing, "la na na na la la la la la la"
Beca and Chloe were laughing while Chloe was filming.
Charlotte came back, eating an apple happily.
"I love this song!" She exclaimed and joined her sister dancing.
Charlotte began to move her hips very fast and Beca and Chloe's eyes doubled size. It's not a way you'd want your 7-year-old to dance but they had to admit Charlotte had a better hip work than her mother.
"Charlotte!" Beca said.
"What?" Charlotte asked.
"Where did you learn that?!" Chloe asked.
"I saw it on a video." Charlotte said.
"Charlotte, that's rather impressive for your age but it's also very adult." Beca said.
"Yeah, honey, so we're gonna ask you not to dance like that in front of others okay?" Chloe asked.
"Why?" Charlotte asked.
"Some men are stupid and they like to hurt children." Chloe explained, she obviously stopped filming. Sophie, of course, was still dancing and singing. "This is something adults do and children aren't supposed to be doing. These men, when they see children dancing like this, it'll make them want to hurt you. It's not your fault, it's theirs."
"What mamma is trying to say, Char, is that perverted and stupid assholes think the way you're dancing is sexy." Beca said. "Because people think women dancing like that are sexy, but these men don't see the difference between adult women and kids. Other people just frown upon this because this is a very mature way to dance."
"Oh." Charlotte said. "So I shouldn't dance like this?"
"It's okay when you're at home, but if you're at a friend's house, their parents may think we taught you and they're gonna think we're sexualizing you." Chloe said.
"What's that?" Charlotte asked with a frown.
"Trying to make you look like a woman." Beca said simply. "Your friends' parents might think bad things about you or me and mamma."
"I'm sorry, mommy. I won't dance like that again." Charlotte said.
"It's okay, baby." Chloe said. "It's not your fault."
Charlotte nodded but she went back to dancing with Sophie, obviously not very unphased by the talk with her mothers.
Beca always worried if she was talking to much about sex with Charlotte, if the girl was okay with that. She was so worried this would also count as sexual abuse, I mean she felt Charlotte was constantly exposed to sex in a way. Chloe told her she was exaggerating. She even asked the girls' pediatrician about it and Dr. Ava said it definitely didn't count as sexual abuse and that Charlotte was growing up, they should have those kind of talks with her.
That calmed Beca down a bit. Maybe it was because she was an awkward person and she'd never be completely fine with talking to either of her daughters about sex.
