Natalie Anne Conrad-Posen was born on April 26th and Beca and Chloe were visiting her for the millionth time since.
Joel was taking his nap when the two got there so they went to the living room to talk to the two proud mothers.
Charlotte was at a friend's house so only Sophie came. Well, Sophie and their third baby which was still in Beca's womb.
Beca sat on the armchair so she could be more comfortable while Stacie and Aubrey sat on the couch and Stacie grabbed two stools, one for Sophie and the other for Chloe.
"Okay, I have to make this comment." Stacie said after a couple minutes of silence. "Beca, how come you look like a ball now but when you were pregnant with Charlotte you had nothing to show?"
"Oh my God, don't ask her that." Chloe said before whispering, "You don't wanna anger it."
"Dude, I can hear you!" Beca said. "And I don't know, okay? I just know that this baby squeezes my fucking bladder all the time—,"
"— Language, Beca!" Chloe said, pointing at their daughter who was currently playing behind the couch.
"I'm carrying a baby, I can curse as loud as I please." Beca said. "And I had no idea pregnancy would be like this! What's up with weird smells?! Now the smell of eggs make me want to puke and Chloe can't wear her favorite perfume anymore!"
"Believe me, Aubrey was the same thing." Stacie said, receiving a slap on the arm. "She snapped at me for anything!"
"Well Beca doesn't snap that much but she acts like a child! You wouldn't believe how many childish arguments she got into with Sophie and Charlotte!" Chloe said.
Stacie and Aubrey laughed while Beca just crossed her arms with a frown.
"Let's change the subject! It's my turn to hold Nat." Beca said.
Chloe chuckled and carefully handed her the newborn.
"Soph, wanna come see Natalie?" Chloe asked.
"Otay!" Sophie said and came out from behind the couch.
She climbed onto the stool but couldn't sit on it since it was too tall for her. She did turn 3 but she was still tiny so she had her stomach on the stool and she couldn't sit.
After a while of struggling, Sophie gave up and let her arms and legs dangle from the stool.
"Sophie, sit up right baby." Chloe said.
"No I'm otay." Sophie said.
"Sophie, this is Aunt Aubrey and Aunt Stacie's house, you have to sit up right." Chloe said. "Want me to help you?"
"Yes pwease." Sophie said.
"Step down, baby." Chloe said as she held the stool.
Sophie stepped down and Chloe stood up. She picked Sophie up and sat her on the stool before sitting on her own stool.
"Fank you, mamma." Sophie said.
Chloe smiled.
"You're welcome, baby." she said.
"Have you guys thought about names yet?" Aubrey asked eagerly.
"We have thought of a few." Chloe said.
"I like Claire but I don't want Chloe, Char and our baby girl number 3 to have the same initial." Beca said.
"And I just wanna chose a name soon because I don't want to keep calling her 'baby girl number 3'." Chloe said and Aubrey and Stacie giggled.
"Sophie, what names do you like?" Stacie asked.
"Sophie, Chawlotte, Coe and Beca." Sophie said with a grin.
"Yeah but those are your family's names." Stacie said.
"Yeah." Sophie said.
"Are there other names you like?" Stacie asked.
Sophie thought before she shook her head, making the adults laugh.
"What about.. Alisha?" Stacie thought of a random name.
"No." Sophie said.
"Jayla?"
"No."
"Excuse me, why are you asking Sophie about baby names instead of us, the mothers of the baby?" Beca asked.
"That's funny, who chose Sophie's name again?" Stacie asked.
"Touché, Conrad.." Beca said.
"Char did and that was super sweet." Chloe said and smiled at Beca. "Okay can I hold her now?"
Beca laughed and carefully handed the blonde newborn to her wife.
"Hey babe.. What about.. Leslie?" Beca asked.
Chloe stopped to think about it. It took her a few moments to look up at Beca, who was biting her lip as she waited for her wife's answer.
"I love it." She said.
"Can we name her Leslie?" Beca asked with a growing grin that reminded Chloe of Sophie.
"Yeah. I think it's a beautiful name." Chloe smiled.
Beca's grin only grew as she placed both hands on her bump.
"See baby? You have a name now!" Beca spoke and felt the baby kick.
Chloe placed a free hand on her wife's stomach and smiled lovingly at her.
"I love you so much." She said.
"I love you so much too, baby." Beca smiled.
"I wove you too!" Sophie grinned.
Beca and Chloe laughed. Their daughter certainly didn't like being left out of things.
"We love you too, baby." Chloe smiled.
Sophie grinned at her mother.
oO0Oo
Beca adjusted Charlotte's costume and hair before she smiled at her.
"You look so beautiful, Char." She said to the nervous 8-year-old.
"Thanks, mommy." She said quietly.
Although Char had been calling Beca and Chloe, mom and Ma, she still called them mommy and mamma when she was nervous and scared.
"You are gonna rock out there." Beca said. "And I know it."
Charlotte managed a small smile at her mom.
"Mamma, Sophie and I will be there rooting for you." Beca smiled.
"And Leslie." Charlotte gently placed both hands on her mom's 7 month baby bump.
"And Leslie." Beca smiled. "Wanna go?"
"Yeah." Charlotte nodded.
Beca smiled and took the girl's hand.
Charlotte and Sophie were requested to be handed in already in their costumes.
Charlotte's costume was a baby pink tutu with sparkles, little flowers all over it. She didn't want to tell her moms what she was going to dance, she wanted it to be a surprise.
Sophie, however, was wearing a blue tutu. A color that matched her bright blue eyes, with a white detail on the stomach and she was supposed to wear little bracelets with blue feathers on her wrists and a blue crown had to be placed on her head.
Doing Charlotte's bun for ballet had always been easy, because her hair was long.
Sophie's hair was a different story, because it barely passed her shoulders and it was curly, so Chloe and Beca would just put it up in a ponytail for ballet class, but Anne had told them she would have to wear an actual bun for the recital. So doing Sophie's hair had been a struggle.
Charlotte and Sophie were very excited, they could barely stop talking in the car.
"You're gonna love my choreography, mom." Charlotte said.
"I'm sure I will, baby." Beca smiled.
"Do you promise you'll film it?" Charlotte asked.
"I promise." Chloe said.
"Will you get mad if I forget something?" Charlotte asked nervously.
"Honey, we will never get mad! Artists forget their parts all the time, that's normal." Chloe said. "But don't think like that, okay? You rehearsed this a million times, you will remember."
"Thanks, Ma, you're right." Charlotte said.
"What about you, Soph, are you nervous?" Beca asked.
"No, I'm gonna dance!" Sophie said with a huge grin.
"Yeah! You and your sister are gonna be awesome!" Beca said. "You're gonna be the best dancers there."
"Yaay!" Sophie threw her arms up.
Beca and Chloe smiled as they found a good parking spot.
Although the girls were wearing their costumes plus tights on summer, the two women made them bring jackets and a change of clothes.
The dancers were asked to be there 30 minutes before the show, so Aubrey, Stacie and the women's parents weren't there yet.
Chloe handed the girls to their teachers and went to find their seats with Beca. They grabbed the show's program so they could see which numbers their daughters were in.
Sophie's class was the second to perform because of the age.
When Aubrey, Stacie and their parents came, they took their seats near Chloe and Beca and it didn't take long before the show started.
The beginning of Fly Love came on and the curtains opened to show Sophie's class. The redhead grinned when she found her family and waved, but when the song began, she looked at her teacher.
There were two teachers on the corners so they could help out, but they only helped the little ones and they were in a place where the cameras didn't catch them.
Sophie was probably the happiest kid to be onstage. She danced with a huge grin and her teacher had been right: she was very graceful with her moves and she had a talent it wasn't very normal to see in 3-year-olds.
Chloe and Beca were crying. Diane and Sophia were crying too, watching Sophie dance was the cutest thing ever! Especially watching her dance in her tutu, which increased the cute factor.
When the song was over, Sophie started jumping up and down as the audience applauded them. She started waving and, when she found her mothers, she waved at them, her grin got even wider if that was possible, and even though they couldn't hear her, they knew she said, "I danced!".
There was a small 15 minute intermission where the little ones were handed to their parents, so Chloe was the one to pick Sophie up. The little redhead ran to her mother's arms and jumped with a loud giggle.
"I danced, mamma!" She exclaimed. "I danced!"
"I know and you were amazing!" Chloe said, fighting the urge to cry.
"Fank you!" Sophie grinned.
Chloe kissed her cheek and hugged her tight, cursing silently when she felt more tears roll down her face.
"Let's go see mommy, grandma, nana, grandpa Ethan, papa, Aunt Stacie and Aunt Aubrey?" Chloe asked.
After the confusion, Chloe's dad, Mike, told the girls to call him papa and Sophia told them to call her nana.
"Yes! They wove my dance?" Sophie asked as Chloe carried her on her hip back inside the theater.
"I guess you're gonna have to find out for yourself." Chloe said with a smile.
When Chloe came back with Sophie, the adults all hugged and kissed her, shedding proud tears as they told her how amazing she was.
Beca was the last to hug her and Sophie only hugged her sideways because she was afraid to hurt her baby sister.
For the remainder of the recital, Sophie sat on Chloe's lap and watched the rest without complaints.
A group of 6 to 7-year-olds danced to Uptown Funk, which prompted Sophie to hop off her mother's lap and start dancing. She moved her hips to the side with her hands on her waist as she sang.
"Uptown fuck you up, uptown fuck you up"
Chloe and Beca's eyes widened.
"Sophie! That's not what he says!" Chloe said.
"No?" Sophie asked. "Good, that's a bad wod."
"Yeah. He says uptown funk you up." Chloe said.
"Oooh! Fanks mamma!" Sophie grinned.
When Charlotte came on, Practice Practice Practice by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen came on and the girls got ready. Sophie hopped right back on Chloe's lap.
The song was obviously very appropriate and Charlotte was one of the best. Her class didn't dance with the teacher and they all had everything memorized.
Charlotte stood proudly, trying to execute the steps the best way possible, which was obviously visible on the way she danced.
When her dance was over, her family applauded wildly, even Sophie screamed, "Go go Char!".
The older girls — Charlotte's class — would only be handed to their parents when the recital was over, which thankfully wasn't long.
The hugs and kisses were better given around the lobby. Diane gave the girls flowers and Beca and Chloe invited everyone for dinner. Stacie and Aubrey offered to have the dinner on their place because of Beca, so she wouldn't have to do anything.
Sophie didn't want to take her tutu off, which wasn't a problem since she wouldn't need to use that tutu again anytime soon, but Chloe and Beca wanted to keep it, so they told her to be careful.
Charlotte changed her clothes and repeated the dance to her grandparents. Sophie repeated her dance too and everyone was impressed at how good her memory was.
Beca, of course, didn't lift a finger, which wasn't a problem for her. Sophie sat close to her and talked to her baby sister.
oO0Oo
It was August 3rd, before the girls' school started again. Sophie was going to preschool so she was very excited about it.
Beca suddenly woke up feeling an intense pain in her lower abdomen. She placed her hand over her pregnant belly and poked her wife.
"Chloe." she called, but the redhead was deep in sleep.
Beca groaned loudly, trying to get up from the bed so she could call an ambulance.
"Mommy?"
Beca looked at the door and saw Sophie standing there with a curious yet a bit scared look on her face.
"Awe you otay?" Sophie asked.
"Can you wake mamma?" Beca said simply as she grabbed her cell phone.
"Otay." Sophie said before climbing on the bed.
Sophie started shaking Chloe as hard as she could with a giggle.
"Mamma, wakey wakey!" she said.
"Sophie?" Chloe mumbled, turning to her side.
"Mommy is scweaming!" Sophie said, pointing her mother, who was barely standing as she talked to someone — probably the 911 operator — on the phone.
"Oh my God!" Chloe shot up from the bed and rushed to her wife's side.
Beca dropped the phone and groaned loudly again.
"Oooooooow this hurts like a biiiiitch!" Beca cursed as a contraction hit her.
"Mamma! Mommy said a bad wod!" Sophie said from the bed.
"I know baby but mommy's in a lot of pain right now." Chloe said.
Sophie looked surprised but didn't say anything else.
"We gotta get the girls dressed." Beca said.
"I'll do that, you just sit down and breathe." Chloe said as she helped Beca onto the bed.
"Okay." Beca said and tried to breathe through another contraction.
"No, mamma! I get dwessed myself!" Sophie said, hopping off of the bed to run to her room before her mother could.
Chloe woke Char and let her plan her outfit before she told her to go be with Beca while she got Sophie dressed.
Charlotte got asked if she wanted an "I'm A Big Sister" shirt but she said she didn't need one. However, child Beca bought her an "I'm The Big Sister" so Char put that shirt on and jeans.
Chloe grabbed Sophie's "I'm A Big Sister" shirt — the one that belonged to Charlotte when Sophie was born — and a pair of pink jeans. She set them on the bed while she looked for a pair of shoes.
Sophie was already out of her pj's by the time Chloe chose her shoes.
"Want me to help you?" Chloe asked.
"No, I'm a big gul." Sophie said with her mad face.
"Okay, big girl, you need underwear." Chloe turned around and opened Sophie's underwear drawer.
"Otay. Quick, mamma!" Sophie said.
Chloe turned back around and was about to help Sophie put on her underwear but the little redhead made her mad face and demanded her to let her dress on her own. Chloe allowed her and went to check on her wife while they waited for the ambulance.
"Mamma, I'm weady!" Sophie showed up with a huge smile.
Chloe smiled, proud of Sophie for getting dressed all by herself. That is, until she looked down at the little redhead's feet.
"Do you wanna switch feet, so your shoes are on the right feet?" She asked.
Sophie looked down and saw her white converse were switched and tied up — the way a toddler would tie up.
"Oh suwe!" Sophie sat down and took off her shoes.
"Here, let me help you tie them up." Chloe said.
Beca managed to talk to Aubrey and Stacie and their parents to go to the hospital.
The girls had to stay inside the room with their mothers. Thankfully, Beca managed to keep her screaming and cursing to a minimum.
Aubrey and Stacie said they missed Sophie's birth, they didn't want to miss Leslie's.
Sheila and Ethan were supposed to get there in a couple hours and Sheila offered to stay home with the girls.
While they stayed with their mothers, Sophie tried everything to cheer Beca up, she talked to her sister and explained that she would be arriving soon and that everyone was waiting for her.
Charlotte also spoke, she said she was her older sister and that she couldn't wait to see her.
Beca was happy and she couldn't wait until little Leslie was born so she could meet her.
When Sheila and Ethan arrived, Sophie and Charlotte had the same pouty look on their faces, they didn't want to go, but Chloe explained this would take a long time.
Beca cursed loudly when her daughters were gone and the adults laughed.
"Charlotte's pregnancy and birth were a stroll in the park compared to this." Beca said.
"A stroll in the park in the middle of the night with land mines everywhere, you mean." Ethan said.
"Yeah." Beca groaned. "But I didn't feel the pregnancy symptoms and the fucking contractions!"
Chloe grabbed her hand and tried not to curse herself when her wife squeezed the life out of her hand.
It wasn't as long as they anticipated when Beca was taken to the delivery room. Chloe's parents had arrived and they were getting some coffee.
Sophia and Diane were allowed to stay inside but Stacie, Aubrey, Mike and Ethan were asked to wait outside.
Chloe held her wife's hand as Beca pushed. Ironically, Beca giving birth was an even bigger pain. She cursed a lot more and her jokes didn't sound that funny, but the adults ignored them for her sake.
"I'm done, dude! I'm done!" Beca said exhaustedly.
"No, no, you can't be done, baby, one more push, come on!" Chloe said.
Beca's entire hair was wet from sweat and she was downright exhausted.
"No, no more pushing, I'm tired!" Beca whined.
"I know baby but just one more push and we'll have our baby girl with us." Chloe said.
Beca groaned loudly as another contraction hit her and she started pushing again.
"That's it, babe, that's it." Chloe said.
"Is she out yet?" Beca managed to ask.
"Beca, if I look down there, it's over." Chloe said.
Beca then groaned out loud again before she lied back and breathed.
"That's it, I'm not pushing anymore." Beca said.
"You don't have to."
Beca opened her eyes as she heard a baby crying. She sat up again and saw their doctor holding a tiny crying baby and her eyes filled with tears.
"Oh my God!" Beca said, crying.
"She's beautiful!" Chloe said.
"Do you wanna cut the cord, Chloe?" the doctor asked.
Chloe couldn't speak so she managed a nod and cut the cord.
"What's her name?" the doctor asked as she took the baby away to clean her up, weight her and check on her.
"Leslie Anna Beale-Mitchell." Chloe said.
"She's so beautiful!" Beca said, not bothering to wipe her tears. "I wanna see her."
"She'll be right here, baby." Chloe promised as she wiped her wife's forehead before she placed a kiss on it. She then moved her lips close to her wife's ears. "I love you."
"I love you too." Beca smiled. "And I'm so glad little Leslie is out."
"Beca!" Chloe frowned.
"What? I carry a baby for 9 months, then she's finally out of my hoo haa and I can't celebrate that?" Beca asked. She didn't last for long without breaking into a smile when Chloe crossed her arms and frowned. "I'm kidding, baby, sorry."
Chloe rolled her eyes.
The doctor then placed Leslie on Beca's arms, making the brunette cry even more and Chloe bent down, also crying, to see their daughter.
"Hi Leslie!" Beca said.
"Hi! "Chloe said. "You are so beautiful!"
Leslie started crying, kicking her tiny arms and legs.
"Awww, baby girl don't cry!" Beca said. "Shhh, don't cry."
Beca gently rocked her and Leslie started sucking on her thumb before she calmed down. The baby then opened her eyes and looked at Chloe while she sucked on her thumb quietly.
"Aww! Hi! Hi Leslie!" Chloe said.
Leslie's eyes were blue, they looked dark now but her mothers knew they could still get brighter. That's what happened to Sophie's eyes, they were dark when she was born but by the time she was 18 months, her eyes had gotten as bright as Chloe's.
"Hi Leslie!" Beca said.
"Mrs. Beale-Mitchell, we're going to move you to your room now." the nurse informed.
"I'm going to tell the grandfathers and call Sheila." Sophia said.
"Okay." Chloe said.
Sophia left when the nurses started moving Beca.
After about 35 minutes, Sophie and Charlotte burst into the room demanding to see their new sister. Chloe picked Sophie up while Charlotte stepped close to Beca's bed.
"Hi Leslie!" Charlotte said. "I'm Charlotte, I'm your older sister."
Sophie was grinning and giggling in Chloe's arms. She looked up at her redheaded mother with a grin and a loud giggle.
"What is it, Sophie? Are you excited to meet your sister?" Chloe asked.
"Yes!" Sophie said and pointed at the newborn baby. "Leslie is hee!"
"She is, baby!" Chloe giggled.
Sophie buried her face in the crook of Chloe's neck, giggling.
"Sophie, say hi to Leslie!" Charlotte said.
"Hi Leslie!" Sophie said with her huge grin.
"She's so cute!" Charlotte said. "She seems tinier than Sophie."
"No, I'm big!" Sophie made her mad face and crossed her arms.
"I mean when you were a baby, dummy." Charlotte rolled her eyes.
"Charlotte!" Chloe and Beca frowned.
Sophie started crying loudly, which made Leslie start crying loudly.
"Charlotte, apologize to your sister." Beca said sternly. "You should never call her your sister bad names."
"I'm sorry, Sophie." Charlotte said.
Sophie wiped her tears and her nose.
Beca tried to calm Leslie down so she would stop crying.
"Calm down, Leslie, your sisters want to meet you, they stopped fighting now, it's okay." Beca said.
"Mamma wants to hold her now." Chloe said with a smile before turning to Sophie. "Wanna go down?"
Sophie nodded and Chloe put her down. She then carefully picked Leslie up from Beca's arms and sat on the armchair next to her bed.
Ethan and Sheila had just gotten to the cafeteria to get some snacks for the girls since they had been sleeping before going to the hospital.
Sophia and Mike were sitting on the sofa and they were watching the scene with smiles on their faces.
Sophie and Charlotte gathered around their mother so they could both see Leslie better.
"Awww!" Sophie said when she saw her sister yawning. "She sleepy leepy?"
"I guess she is." Chloe said.
"But she was just born!" Charlotte said. "She can't be sleepy!"
The adults all giggled.
"She is pwetty." Sophie said.
"She is, huh baby?" Chloe asked and Sophie nodded.
"Ma, when is Leslie coming home?" Charlotte asked.
"She might stay here a couple days along with mommy." Chloe said.
"Aww." Charlotte said. "I wanted her to come home today."
"Me too." Sophie said. "Can I kissy?"
Chloe smiled.
"Of course." she said. "I think she would like that."
Sophie grinned and gently placed a kiss on Leslie's cheek. The baby opened his eyes again and looked at the three people surrounding her.
"I love you, baby sister Leslie." Sophie said.
Charlotte then kissed Leslie's forehead and the baby started moving her arms, making a little noise.
"I love you too!" Charlotte grinned.
"I think she's getting hungry." Chloe said.
"Awww!" Sophie said. "Want a snack, Leslie?"
The adults giggled again when Ethan and Sheila came back.
"Leslie is too little to have a snack, she gets mommy's milk." Chloe explained.
"Yeah, it comes out of her breasts!" Charlotte explained.
"Eww!" Sophie said with a cute disgusted look on her face.
"It's not eww, you and I also had mommy and mamma's milk when were babies." Charlotte said.
Sophie looked puzzled and curious.
Chloe stood up and handed Leslie over to Beca so she could breastfeed her.
"Okay, let's take this opportunity and take a picture of the Beale-Mitchell family." Ethan stood up with the women's camera in hand.
The two older girls gathered around their mothers and sister and smiled. Ethan smiled as he took a couple pictures.
"Beautiful." He smiled.
Chloe smiled and turned back to her family. She was so happy and she couldn't even believe her life as a mother was only in the beginning.
Yaaaaaay! Any thoughts?
