Chapter 2: Bachelor party
The evening had arrived and Silver was walking with the rest of the boys through the city. Sonic (who was organizing the whole thing) suggested that they should go to a bar and have as much fun as they can handle before Silver officially become a married hedgehog.
Everyone was excited on a different level. Sonic, Vector and Charmy couldn't wait to start partying. Silver and Tails were also excited, but were much more modest about it. Espio and Knuckles weren't showing much emotion, but it was clear that they were having a good time. No one could tell Big's emotions. Omega and Gemerl were emotionless as always and Shadow was... well Shadow! Silver was surprised he came to the party at all.
"You can't get married without a first-class party!" Sonic announced as he wrapped his arm around Silver's neck.
"I know, Sonic." Silver responded "But can we go a little easy with it? I mean Tails and Charmy are still children."
"Hey, I am not a child!" Charmy immediately said "I am a big, strong man!"
"A big, strong man that still sucks his thumb when sleeping." Vector added.
"You are one to talk, Mister I-still-sleep-with-a-teddy-chao!" Charmy responded.
"I TOLD TO NEVER SPEAK OF THIS!" Vector shouted.
"You started it!"
Before the things could escalate even further Espio stood in between his friends. ''Enough!'' he said firmly ''Your childish fighting is ruining the event!''
''Espio is right, guys.'' Silver said ''We are here to have a good time, not to fight each other.''
''Speaking of good time, we are here!'' Sonic said as he pointed at the bar in front of them. It was called ''The good prince'' , fitting since Silver was going to be a king soon. It was one of the best and most expensive bars in the city. luckily Silver's pockets were rather deep, thanks to his wife-to-be.
''Come on, guys, let's go in!'' Sonic ran in as the others followed him in. The only ones to stay behimd were Silver, Espio, Vector and Charmy.
''Will you two behave for the rest of the evening?'' Esapio asked.
The crocodile and the bee looked at each other and mumbled ''Yes...''
''Good!'' Silver said happily ''Now let's go in! After all it's not a bachelor party without the groom!''
The four entered inside and gasped. The place was very nice, with tables and chairs made out of cedar wood, many beautiful paintings on the walls, four big TVs in each corner and many other expensive decorations. The place had a second floor on which the boys' table was. The table was meant for six people, but they had brought some chairs for the rest. Silver, Espio, Sonic,Tails, Vector and Charmy were on the six seats while Shadow, Big and Knuckles were on the extra chairs. Omega and Gemerl said that they don't need a seats becaus they weren't going to drink anything.
"Good thing you are marrying a princess, Silver," Knuckles noted while he was looking around "because I don't think you would have been able to pay the bill!"
"For real!" Tails added as he looked at the menu "I mean 29.99 Rings for a glass of whiskey!?"
"It's fine with me!" Shadow suddenly said and turned to one of the waiters "Hey you! One whiskey!"
"Of course sir!" the waiter, a blue hippo said and then turned to the other guests "Can I take your orders as well, gentlemen?"
"Just champagne for now!" Silver said.
"Coming right up!" the waiter said as he walked away.
''Starting strong, are we, Shadow?'' Sonic asked the dark hedgehog smugly.
''Hum, it's not easy for me to get drunk!'' Shadow responded.
Soon the champagne arrived and Espio had to give a toast.
''To our dear friend, thanks to whome we are here tonight! I hope this will be a night we will all remember! To Silver!''
''To Silver!'' they all then clinked their champagne glasses ( though Shadow used his whiskey glass).
After this the boys all ordered themselves stronger drinks. Tails and Charmy weren't allowed to drink so they ordered an alcohol-free beer. After an hour of drinking and laughing some of the boys were starting to show signs of drunkenness.
''IF THE OCEAN WAS A WHISKEY AND I WAS A DUCK-'' Knuckles and Vector were singing together ''I'D DIVE TO THE BOTTOM AND DRINK IT ALL UP! ''
''Come on, Shad!'' the drunk Sonic prayed to Shadow.
''No!'' Shadow simply responded, while sipping from his fifth glass of whiskey (yet not showing any signs of being drunk).
''Why not!?''
''Because singing karaoke with you is not what I imagine when I hear ''fun''!''
A smug smile then appeared on Sonic's face ''Oh I know what you find fun! Her name starts with ''R'' and ends with ''e''!''
Shadow caught what Sonic was trying to say and wasn't impressed ''I don't know what you are talking about!''
''Oh come on! You hang out with one of the hottest chicks I know, yet you are telling me that you've never had the good ol' ''Devil's tango'' with her!''
''Hum, unlike you I don't think with my reproductive organs all the time!'' Shadow said.
''I bealive him!'' Knuckles invited himself in the conversation ''When she is staeling the Master Emerald, laying with her is the last thing that crosses my mind! Though I would like to...''
''Hey now, enough with this!'' Espio, who wasn't as drunk as the others interupted the echidna ''There are children here!''
Actually Tails had learned long ago bout ''The Jets and the Charmies'' and Charmy had also (secretly) learned about it through Eggnet.
''Oh Espio,'' the drunk Silver laught as he hugged Espio with one arm ''you are the salt of the Earth!''
While the boys were laughing Omega was looking at Silver with great interest and was thinking ''WHAT DOES SUCH A PURE BEAST OF DESTRUCTION LIKE BLAZE SEE IN THIS LOW MEATBAG? I AM HER PERFECT MATCH, NOT HIM AND ONCE I GET RID OF HIM, BLAZE WILL BE MINE AND MINE ALONE! BUT I NEED A DISTRACTION...''
Just then Charmy spoke ''Hey, guys, they just turned the music on! Let's go dance!''
''Sure.'' Tails replied ''It's better than listening to Knuckles' singing.''
''You won't get rid of me that easily, fox!'' Knuckles said suddenly ''I coming too!''
''Me too.'' Vector added ''It's time to bless the people with my exelent moves!''
''I am coming as well.'' Sonic said as he turned to Silver and Espio ''You guys coming?''
''Sure.'' the groom responded.
''No thanks, I am fine.'' the best man said.
''I too will not take part in the dancing!'' Gemerl added.
"Guess you two will keep Shadow company.'' Sonic said, knowing very well that Shadow most likely won't want to dace. He was correct.
''To be honest, outside of Omega, Espio is the most plesent to be around in this group.'' the dark hedgehog surprised everyone with this statement.
''I AM GOING TO TAKE PART IN THE DANCING AS WELL!'' Omega suddenly boomed. The dancing was the perfect oportunity for him to kill Silver and make it look like an accident. If only he knew how to do it...
''What about you, Big,'' Tails asked the big cat.
''I am sorry, but I have to find Froggy first!'' Big then got up and started looking for his best friend.
Once everything was settled the boys went to the first floor and started showing their moves. Sonic was (of course) receiving the most attention, especialy from the female guests of the bar. He winked at them and half of the ladies fainted. Tails was doing his best, even though dancing wasn't his thing. It wasn't Charmy's thing either, but that didn't stop him from dancing as wild as possible. Knuckles also was dancing wildly and even bumping in a table or two couldn't stop him. Vector was arguably Sonic's biggest competition as his moves were attracting lots of people. Silver was just having a good time, not knowing that the big robot next to him was planing to kill him.
Speaking of Omega he had just figured out a way to kill Silver and make it look like an accident. There was a chandelier above the dancing floor, all Omega had to do is wait for Silver to get under it. Then Omega would fire one single bullet at the chandelier and cause it to fall on Silver. It looked heavy enough to end his life.
''ALL I HAVE TO DO IS WAIT...'' the robot said mischievously to himself.
Meanwhile Big was still looking for Froggy. He was looking under the tables, the chairs and even under the people (resulting in a few slaps from girls who got the wrong idea). Finally Big saw Froggy. He was on the dance floor.
''Froggy!'' the big cat exclamed as he started making his way towards the amphibia.
Back with Omega the opportunity had finally come. Silver was under the chandelier. It was time. Omega opened one of his fingers and fired a silent bullet to the spot where the ceiling and the chandelier were conected. The heavy lamp started flying towards the unsuspecting hedgehog. Just then, however, Silver noticed Froggy.
''Hey, Froggy,'' Silver said as he started walking towards the frog ''come here! Big is warryed about you!''
Just then, Big himself stood on the spot Silver was on recently. And, of course, the chandelier fell on him. But Big was so fat and ... well big that it jumped off of him and landed on one of the TVs in the corners of the bar, causing a fire to start.
''Oh, did I do that?'' Big asked, seemingly unaffected by the large object that had just fallen on him.
The fire quickly caught the attention of the boys and the other customers. Soon Shadow, Espio, Gemrel and the waiter from earlier came to the scean.
''What is going on!?'' Espio asked urgently.
''The chandelier fell on Big and then crashed in one of the TVs!'' Vector explained.
''The chandelier was new!'' the waiter said with hands on his head ''How could this happen!?''
Omega, of course, knew the answer, but kept it to himself.
''It doesn't matter how did it happen,'' said Silver ''we need to stop the fire!''
''Fear not!'' Sonic suddenly appeared, carrying a container with water in his hands ''Sonic to the rescue!''
Little did Sonic know, that what he was carrying wasn't water. It was alcohol. But Tails knew that.
''NO, SONIC, WAIT! THAT'S NOT-'' the fox tried to warn his best friend, but it was too late. The blue hedgehog dumped the liquid on the fire, causing it grow even bigger and stronger. It soon took over the second floor as well ''-water...'' Tails finished his warning.
The waiter crossed his arms and eyed daggers at Sonic, who responded with a guilty smile and a fake laugh ''Haha...oups...''
''That was stupid.'' Shadow noted.
''Thanks for the observation, edgehog!'' Sonic was the one to eye daggers now.
''You are welcome!''
''Guys, quit chating and start helping!'' Silver urged his fellow hedgehogs.
''Omega, you got anything against fires!'' Espio asked, while he was trying to get the people out of the bar.
''I HAVE NOTHING THAT DOES'T LEAD TO DEATH AND DESTROCTION IN ME!'' Omega responded.
''But I do!'' Gemerl suddenly said as his arms started shooting fire extinguishing foam.
For the next twenty minutes the boys were fighting the flames. Eventually they managed to stop the fire. No one was hurt, but the second floor and most of the first floor of "The good prince" were reduced to ashes.
''The bar...'' the waiter started crying.
''I am sorry...'' Big's ears dropped with saddnes. Froggy was trying to confort him.
''Eh, not your fault, big guy.'' Vector placed his hand on Big's back.
"I am sorry about the bar, sir.'' Silver said to the waiter ''I will personally pay for it!''
''You will?'' the waiter asked with a smile ''Oh, thank you, Your Magesty, you are so generous!''
''Heh, no problem.''
With everything setteled down the boys decided to return to the palace.
''So, how are you going to tell Blaze about this?'' Sonic asked.
''I will do it after the wedding. Though she will probaly hear of it earlier.''
Suddenly Shadow broke out of the group.
''Where are you going?'' Knuckles asked.
''The party is over so I am going to look around for any sighns of enemies!'' the dark hedgehog responded.
''Oh come one, man,'' Sonic said ''Can't you take a break for like one day?''
''No.'' Shadow simply responded as he disappeared into the night.
"What's up with him?" Sonic asked.
"Leave him be." Tails said "It's just the way he is."
Soon the guys returned to tge palace.
"I apologize that your bachelor party ended in such way!" Espio said, while looking at the ground in shame.
"Don't worry, Espio," Silver put his hand on the chameleon's shoulder "I still had a good time. And I am sure the guys were having a good time too, right?"
"Of course!" Sonic said "Drinking and dancing - what more could a guy ask for!?"
"Despite the fire It was fun!" Knuckles added.
"THE FIRE WAS FUN! I AM HAPPY ABOUT THE FIRE! AND I AM SO HAPPY THAT I WASN'T THE ONE WHO STARTED IT!" Omega said, which caursed the others to look at him weirdly.
"Okey..." Silver said awkwardly "I am going to bed! I will have to get up early tomorrow after all."
"Yeah, we better go to sleep too." Tails agreed "Good night everyone!"
"Night!" Charmy responded.
The boys all went to their rooms and Silver went into his own. In a few minutes he was ready for bed. As he was trying to fall asleep he was thinking "I wonder what Blaze's bachelorette party was like..."
Little did he know, that Blaze's party was just as eventful as his own...
