It wasn't easy dragging Leslie to a shop to buy her glasses. She was whining and she didn't understand the importance of her glasses yet. Chloe was sure that once they were on her face, she'd stop complaining.
Leslie was holding Beca's hand pretty tight, keeping close to her as they walked past hundreds of glasses.
"Hello!" a saleswoman smiled politely at them and sat down in front of them at a table. Chloe and Beca sat down, Leslie sat on Beca's lap and Sophie sat on Chloe's. Charlotte came along to help Leslie choose and to also incentive her.
"This little lady here needs glasses." Chloe said, giving the woman Leslie's prescription.
"Let's see." the woman smiled as she checked the prescription. "Let's choose the frame first, our glasses are over here."
The woman led them to two shelves that contained children's glasses.
"Choose one, Leslie, the one you like the most." Beca said, pointing at the glasses.
Leslie shook her head with a frown.
"Look little Leslie!" Sophie said, pointing pink ones. "Miss, can I grab this one please?"
"Of course." the woman gave Sophie the glasses and Sophie showed it to Leslie from up close.
"These are so cool, little Leslie! Try them on!" Sophie said.
Leslie shook her head again and tried to hide behind Beca.
"Leslie, try them on, see if you like them on you." Chloe said.
Leslie slowly picked the glasses from Sophie and put them on.
"Mamma, they don't work." she said.
"It's because they don't have the right lenses yet, baby." Chloe chuckled. "We are just trying on the frames, then the nice lady will get your lenses."
Leslie didn't say anything and she looked for a mirror. Sophie grabbed her hand and stood by her side as she checked herself in the mirror.
"I don't like this one." Leslie said quietly.
"That's okay, baby Leslie, there's tons of other frames you can try." Charlotte said. "Which color do you like?"
"I like green/blue." Leslie said.
Charlotte looked for green/blue glasses and found two models. She grabbed both and handed to Leslie.
Leslie tried the first one and looked at herself in the mirror. Her face already lit up and she smiled.
"You look so cutie!" Sophie said, almost squealing.
"I like this one." Leslie said with conviction.
"Do you want to take this one?" Chloe asked.
"Yes, mamma, please." Leslie said.
"You should choose another pair, to have a spare." Beca said. "Try some white or transparent ones."
"Here, mom." Charlotte grabbed two transparent frames and a white one before giving them to Leslie.
"I can keep the one you liked." Chloe said, grabbing the frames from Leslie.
Leslie tried the other three and ended up liking a transparent frame so the saleswoman grabbed them both.
"I just have to adjust them to your face." she said and grabbed a machine.
Leslie sat on the chair and the woman adjusted the glasses, see what needed to be done.
"Okay, how are you paying for those?" she asked.
"Credit card." Beca said, grabbing her wallet.
"Great. They'll be done in an hour." the woman said.
Beca paid for it and the family walked around the mall for an hour before the glasses were done. They went back to the shop and the same woman had a bag with the glasses waiting for them.
"Let's try and see how they feel." she said, getting the green/blue ones and giving it to Leslie.
Leslie put it on and gasped, looking around.
"Mamma I can see!" she said with a wide grin.
"I know, that's what the glasses are for." Chloe said.
Leslie kept looking around with a look of awe.
"That says 50% off!" Leslie pointed to a sign above a shelf of glasses.
"Come here, little lady." the woman checked the glasses, adjusted one last time before trying the other ones.
"Which ones would you like to wear now, Leslie?" Beca asked.
"The green/blue." Leslie said. Beca put them on her and the family left.
"Mommy, little Leslie looks gorgeous!" Sophie said.
"I know, she does!" Beca smiled as Leslie kept looking around the mall.
"Look mommy! That signs says 'Urban Outfitters'!" Leslie pointed.
"Yep." Beca said.
"Mamma! That says 'Starbucks'!" Leslie said.
"Yeah!" Chloe said.
"Look mamma, that man is looking at me!" Leslie said, pointing at the man.
"That's because you're pointing at him." Chloe said and lowered Leslie's arm. "Remember honey, it's not polite to point at people."
"Sorry." Leslie said, looking up at Chloe. "I'm just so happy I can see!"
Leslie smiled up at Chloe. She'd never been so happy, Chloe didn't know how long Leslie had been without seeing.
"I know baby, but it's still not polite to point." Chloe said.
"Sorry mamma." Leslie said.
"It's okay." Chloe said. "Now that you have your new glasses, let's go home."
Leslie nodded.

Summer was going well, the girls were really enjoying their new house. Each had their own room, Charlotte had a closet and her own bathroom, Sophie and Leslie still shared a bathroom but it wasn't a kiddy's bathroom anymore.
Sophie still had ballet and gymnastics, Leslie didn't have ballet for the summer and neither did Charlotte. They still had activities and often went to visit their friends.
Natalie and Joel came to visit quite often because of the pool and because Stacie and Aubrey often had to work.
Today was one of those days. Charlotte, Leslie, Natalie and Joel were in the pool. Chloe was watching them while Beca was at gymnastics practice with Sophie.
Beca was sitting and watching while texting Chloe to check on her girls at home.
Beca looked up and watched as Sophie did a round off but she tripped and fell on the ground. She just chuckled and thought Sophie would stand up and try again, but she didn't. She sat up and clutched her wrist, crying.
Beca immediately stood up and walked in, running towards her daughter as did her coach.
"Sophie baby are you okay?" Beca asked.
"No, mommy, my wrist hurts!" Sophie cried.
"Let me see it, honey." Her coach knelt down and grabbed Sophie's wrist gently. "Can you move it?"
"No." Sophie cried. "It hurts too much!"
"Let me take her to a doctor." Beca said. "I'll get your shorts, So."
Beca hurried to get Sophie's shorts and put them on. She thanked the girl's coach and left with her daughter.
Beca took Sophie to a doctor who saw her right away and asked for an X ray. Much to Beca's surprise, Sophie had a broken wrist. The little redhead had stopped crying now and was her usually bubbly happy self.
"Little miss, let's put a cast on this wrist." The doctor said, coming in.
"Okay." Sophie said.
"I have a few colors available but I already know which color you're going to want." The doctor said.
"Which color?" Sophie asked curiously.
"Pink." He said with a sly look on his face.
"Oh yes! That's the color I want!" Sophie said before turning to Beca. "Mommy, the doctor read my mind!"
Beca and the doctor chuckled as the technician got the cast ready.
"This is a waterproof cast, you can swim with this cast, take showers." The doctor said.
"Yaay! That's good because I have a pool at home!" Sophie said.
"Okay, hold still now." the technician said as he held her hand.
Sophie did show signs of pain, especially when the technician went over her broken wrist.
"Does it hurt too bad?" the technician asked.
"No. I had surgery, they cut my stomach open to take out a silly tumor." Sophie said.
"Oh really? So you have a history of being brave huh?" the technician asked.
"Yes." Sophie said with conviction.
"Okay, we're all done." he said.
"So mister, can I still go to the pool?" Sophie asked.
"Yes, you can." the technician said.
"So, I'd like to see you 6 weeks from now." the doctor said.
"Okay." Sophie said. "Will my wrist heal?"
"Yes, definitely." the doctor said. "Mom, I have to give you the prescription."
"Okay." Beca said as the doctor wrote down on a notepad.
"Twice a day." he said.
"Thanks doc." Beca said. "Let's go buy your medication."
"Let's do it." Sophie nodded.
Beca loved Sophie's antics, she was amazing, she was funny and she never lost her sparkle. She was dorky and almost always happy. Just like Chloe.
"I have to call mamma and let her know what happened." Beca said as she grabbed Sophie's hand. "Thank you so much, doctor."
"You're welcome. Take care of that wrist, little lady." the doctor said to Sophie.
"I will doctor!" Sophie grinned. "My wrist will heal very fast!"
"I bet." the doctor smiled and shook hands with Beca before they left.
"Mommy, does this mean I have to stop doing gymnastics?" Sophie asked.
"Well, for a little while. After your cast is out, you're gonna have to do some physiotherapy and it's gonna be a while before you can tumble on your wrist." Beca said.
"What about ballet, mommy?" Sophie asked, desperate.
"You can still do ballet, but you have to be careful." Beca said.
"Okay, that's good. I can't live without ballet, mommy." Sophie said.
Beca chuckled and rolled her eyes. Sophie was way to over dramatic sometimes, but Beca and Chloe just thought that was endearing.
