7. Killing Four birds with one stone, P3

(AN: Hey all, CJ here. I bet you are all surprised I got a new chapter out so quickly, huh? I know I am. It's been some time since I've done that. And I truly hope that this chapter is better than the old one. I feel I did a LOT better this time around. I hope this new chapter brings in some incite and I would love to hear from you on what you all think.

As I stated, it has been some time since I pulled a twofer like this without resting in between and doing some art in between. But the story juices just wanted to flow. So I let them. And now here we are.

I think there will be one more part to this before I truly move on. I got some excellent plot ideas but this chapter truly irons some things out. There will be some backstories to some characters, but I promise nothing like last time. Imma telling you all, that was fucking hell and I hate myself for being forced in doing something so stupid and redundant like that about Alantia and her past. And once again I am so sorry.

Anyway, this next chapter will bring in more on the plot characters, some daily lives, paybacks, and some fun sparring that goes to hell. Also, you will see Tank, who you should remember from the old crap story, AKA Shasha Vandercroft, calls Shadow, Pakhan. From what I found out and understand, it means, Boss in Russian.

CHAPTER 3

KILLING FOUR BIRDS WITH ONE STONE...PART 3…

ANGEL ISLAND...NEVER RIVER JUST ACROSS FROM ANGEL ZONE...0930 hours….

NYA! DAHLIA'S SUPER SPECIAL POUNCE ATTACK!

WHA! DAHLIA DON'T YOU….GAH!

Before he could finish trying to stop her, she pounces on him and they go and roll on the ground and end up stopping just a few inches from the water's edge. Manik lands on his front with a grunt as Dahlia sits on top of him wagging her tail, pleased with herself for attacking Manik.

NYA! I FINALLY GOT YOU THIS TIME, MANIK ACORN! I TOLD YOU ONE DAY I WOULD, HEDGEHOG NYYYYAAA!

Manik wasn't too amused right now, and the look on his face said it all too well. Letting out a sigh, he folds his ears back and lets out a soft growl. Not at Dahlia, for she had been trying for years to pounce him since they knew one another as kids, but for himself for not paying mind to his surroundings. Dahlia was purring away when she noticed that Manik wasn't moving. Curious about why it was she looks over her shoulder and looks down at him, and right away she could tell something was up.

Manny, Nya? Hey, are you alright? I didn't hurt you did I?

Sighing, he looks over his shoulders at her and gives her a small smile.

Naw, you didn't hurt me, Dali.

Then why do you look like that? I know something is up, Manik, so start talking before I go into cuddle mode alpha! NYA!

Dahlia glares at him with a huff and fold of her arms. Rolling his eyes, he gets up making her fall off him. She yells out surprised as he brushes himself off. Looking at her, he smiles and holds out his hand to her and she takes it and dusts herself off. Dahlia was a young Tigress and the adoptive daughter of Big the Cat. She had soft pink fur with darker pink stripes. Her eyes were a brilliant green. Her hair was purple with electric blue stripes and done up in an Odango bun style. Both buns had flower ties to hold them in place. Her outfit is a beautiful purple silk short fighting style cheongsam qipao dress with an open front above the breasts, and slits at the sides. The dress had a silver dragon winding its way around her, with cherry blossom accenting it. Lastly, she had white knee-high boots to bring it together. It was one of her favorites and one that Manik had gotten for her birthday earlier that year. It was both functional and fashionable, her top favorite combo. Dahlia was always a happy, hyper, peppy Tigress and hardly anything could bring her down. But when something did, she knew she could count on her best friend Manik to pull her out of it.

So, are you gonna tell me what's going on or what?

Yeah, but you better hold on.

He tells her with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

Hold on?

Before she knew it, Manik picked her up and they were gone in a pink and blue streak. Dahlia screams out surprised as she holds onto him, till she starts laughing and giggling. She fist bumps the air screaming out and telling him to go faster. He laughs and does as he is told as he runs across the water creating waves behind him. Before too long they had made it to Angel Zone where Manik kept going till they stopped just under a huge cherry tree that was in bloom. Laughing, he sets Dahlia down who jumps up and down with a little spin.

NYA! THAT WAS AWESOME, MANIK! DO IT AGAIN! DO IT AGAIN! PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! NYA!

She grabs a hold of Manik's arm tugging on it and making him laugh. He gently pulls her back, smiling at her.

Maybe later, right now I have work to do.

NYA! That's right you said something was up! What's going on?

Manik fills her in and she takes in every detail he knows of right now.

NYA! That is bad. And you truly think that the Silver Moon Rings and the Rainbow rings will help, yeah?

Yeah, or at least Nikki says they will. So I'm here to get them.

Why don't we split up and kill two birds with one stone?

Sorry Dahlia, but this is something I need to do alone. Don't ask me why, just call it intuition.

Dahlia huffs out and folds her arms with a raised eyebrow.

Like the time when you got a feeling and it ended up with Sonia heartbroken, covered in mud, naked and humiliated in front of us and many others, and you with a black eye, beaten to a pulp, and a broken leg.

Chaos! You and the rest are NOT going to let me live that down, are you?

Manik asks her with a fold of his arms.

No we are not, Manik.

Huh?

Manik looks in his pocket and pulls out Nikki and opens her up. With a sigh, he shakes his head and folds a hand on his hip.

You're siding with her, huh?

Yes, I am, because she's right.

NYA! Sonia is gonna skin you ALIVE for kidnapping Nikki.

I KNOW! Sheesh! Listen, you two, enough ganging up on me, Nikki how long before night falls?

In about twelve hours. You kind of took off without thinking like always.

Yeah, not gonna argue there. It's just when I saw those rings I had to act.

Manik lets out a sigh and rubs the back of his head.

Alright, since we have time, I think we can head right to Rainbow valley and go see Salma. Nikki, do you think it is possible to do that?

With your speed, you should be able to make it there and back in time so long as something doesn't stop you or come up.

Right, well you wanted another ride, Dahlia?

I thought you said you had to do this on your own.

I do, but that doesn't mean I can't have a friend along for the ride.

He smiles at her, making her eyes light up.

NYA! Does that mean we get to go running across the water again!? Because that was SICK!

Yeah, it does!

NYA! Let's goooooo!

Laughing, Manik pockets Nikki and picks Dahlia up in his arms and they are gone in a flash going back the way they came and heading off to Rainbow Valley.

Back in Shining Star City...Crystal Cove Shopping strip… Scraps Detail and Paint Shop…1630 hours…

Alright, your bike is ready to go, Mr. Hedgehog.

Shadow, Skye, Jax, Tabitha, and Hunter had gone to meet up with Eris after they had lunch. Before they did, Tabitha had told him what she knew about Tabius, but it wasn't much. After which, they did a bit of shopping, and Shadow got a new outfit to replace the one that got ruined by Dustin's brother. After which the boys ran off with Eris to go ride for a bit, and Tabitha left with Hunter saying they had some things to do. But Shadow could see that after meeting Eris, they felt wary around her, but stood with them for a bit to not seem rude. He wasn't sure why, so he put it to the back of his mind. During that time he had gotten a call from Scraps Details and Paint. Heading down that way he enters and is greeted by Amber who takes him to the back.

Thank you, Amber.

But of course. Also, I added a few extra details, an oil change, and even cleaned up your saddle bag, and gun for you as an apology for my idiot brother's stunt earlier today.

Amber tells him with a fold of her arms, as she goes on.

On the house. And before you ask, yes, I know my way around a gun, and how to take care of them. Nothing on you, but your nine mill really needed cleaning. It looks like it's used regularly.

Well, thank you, Amber. And yes you can say it is.

Shadow took out his gun and looked it over and could see that it sparkled and shined like new. He takes the clips and checks them over and sees that even it was cleaned out. Smiling, he clips them back in place and cocks it, and feels how much smoother it was now.

Impressive. It pulls back so much better now. Nicely done, Amber.

Heh, thank you. I'll have my brother open the back for you.

Nodding, he puts his saddlebag back on his bike, places everything back in it, and closes it up. Once done he hops on his bike, turns it on, and finds it purred even better than before. Smiling, he nods at Amber who yells at her brother.

YO, CJ! GET THE BACK DOOR FOR MR. HEDGEHOG!

ON IT!

CJ hurries over to open the back to him as Shadow drives up slowly. He stops and looks at CJ who looks away ashamed for nearly totaling his bike earlier that day. Shadow could see he felt bad and let out a sigh and spoke to him.

Listen, kid?

Huh?

CJ looks at him tilting his head. Shadow puts the kickstand down and gets off his bike as he looks at CJ.

Y-yes, Mr. Hedgehog?

Listen I know it was an accident earlier today, and I'm sorry for yelling at you.

What?! NO! NO NO! I'm the one who should be saying sorry! And I am! I'm truly sorry for nearly ruining your bike!

Shadow chuckles a little bit and nods.

And I forgive you.

R-Really?!

Yes. But your father and sister are right. Next time do be more careful.

I will! I promise!

Good. Now I was wondering if you could help me in finding someone? Since you said you know your Extreme Gear Racers.

Y-Yeah!? Who is it you're looking for?

His name is Tabius Storm.

Upon hearing that name, CJ's fur stands on end and he looked as if he wished he was anywhere but here right now. Gulping, he smiles sheepishly.

S-Sorry but...I don't...oh would you LOOK at the time? Heh, heh... I best get going, I need to go check on my mom...so...ah...thanks and we'll call you as soon as your car is done. OK, Bye!

CJ turns around and tries to hurry off, but Shadow stops him with a hand on his shoulder. CJ groans out and looks over his shoulder at him. He could see the look on Shadow's face and wished he could just vanish in a puff of smoke. With another groan, he lets it out as a sigh, turns around, and rubs his temples.

Look…

CJ lets out a sigh again and folds his arms as he takes on a serious look.

Tabius is someone who you don't want to mess with. He's dangerous. DEADLY even. He is not someone you want to be around. Given the chance, he will backstab you the first chance he gets. He plays dirty and rumor has it he cheats as well. It's how he got up in the rankings in the Aquatic division of the Extreme Gear World. Anyone who is in the Aquatic division is too scared to go up against him and try for first place. The last guy that did, Tabius ended up killing the very same night they won.

Hmm...it's starting to feel like my hunch was right after all.

Shadow turns his head and says more to himself than CJ.

Why are you looking for him anyway? Did he do something to you, or your friends?

Shadow looks back at him and answers him.

No, I want him on my team for the upcoming preliminaries and WGP.

WHAT!? ARE YOU CRAZY!?

I just might be.

DUDE! If you take him on, you'll lose more than you will gain! Sure you will win, but that guy does NOT play by the books! Not to say the first chance he gets he WILL backstab you, or even KILL You!

That may be, but it takes a lot to take me down. Trust me on that.

Letting out a deep sigh, CJ lets his arms drop to his side as he places one on his hip, seeing how nothing was going to stop him.

In a cave three-and-a-half hours away…20:30 hours…

"I can tell no matter what I do or say it won't stop you or change your mind. But look? If you truly want to find him, he hangs out at this place called Castaway Cove. It's a little Seaside Bar and Pub. A lot of Aquatic and non-Aquatic Mobians go down there to hang out, get some ass, or eat and drink. It's in a cave about a three-and-a-half-hour drive from here, you can't miss it.

Don't mention it. Like EVER. And don't go saying my name either, or who told you? The last thing I need is that brute coming here and causing problems. But don't say I didn't want you either...Shadow…"

Shadow scoffs as he smiles at him.

"So you knew who I was the whole time, huh?

Yeah, hard not to. Look, I know I can be a bit childish at times, and a bit of a fluff brain like my father said. But trust me on this. Tabius is not someone you want on your team. But if you are truly sure about this, then be ready for anything. I also meant what I said about mentioning my involvement. That goes for my family as well...we have...HISTORY...with that guy…"

CJ lets out a sad sigh, as he reaches up and grabs at something under his shirt, and looks over at his father who was in his office, and he could be seen through the window looking over some papers and talking with Amber. His bottom lip trembles, as a tear escapes his eye. Shadow catches this and places a hand on his shoulder making him look at him with sorrow.

"She did NOTHING wrong, and he KILLED her right before our eyes! I was only five when he killed her! She was trying to HELP him because he was badly hurt. All she ever wanted to do was help people, and he KILLED her! He said if we told anyone he would come to find us and kill us, Shadow. So please, I'm begging you! DON'T let him know it was me. Or my family. I don't think I could bear the thought of losing them as we did mother."

Shadow gives a stern nod and answers him.

I promise I won't say anything about you or your family, and if he tries anything funny, I'll see to it he is taken care of. I promise, CJ.

Thank you, Shadow. If anyone can take down that brute, it's you…"

Shadow hums out as he pulls into a parking space and shuts his bike off. He gets off it and walks inside the Bar and Pub. As he walks in, several people look to see who came in but go back to what they were doing just as fast. Scoffing, he walks over to the bar and takes a seat as the bartender comes over to him and gets him a beer, and sets it before him. Nodding, Shadow takes a drink and sets it down as a pretty jellyfish walks over to him giggling. She leans against the bar looking at him.

Hey handsome. Don't see many hedgehogs around here. So what brings you to this side of the sea?

I'm looking for someone. I heard he hangs around here a lot.

You don't say? Who is it you're looking for?

Tabius Storm. Have you heard of him?

The jellyfish giggles nervously but manages to keep her composure and straighten up and walks off, but not before leaning in and whispering into his ear making Shadow glance at her.

If you know what is good for you, hedgehog, leave now why you can. He will eat you alive given the first chance. Tabius owns these parts. It's part of his turf. But if you truly wish to find him, he comes in around ten. But don't say I didn't warn you.

Duly noted miss.

She scoffs and walks off swinging her hips, letting him enjoy his beer. Time passes and before long, night falls and the nightlife at the Pub and Bar soon starts to come to life. The bartender had refreshed his drink a few times and soon ten o'clock came and went and it was now eleven fifteen. Humming out, he looks up and around trying to see if maybe he could spot Tabius just in case he missed him.

If you are looking for Tabius, Sugha hog, he won't be coming in tonight.

Shadow looks up and sees a Hedgcat before him. She had silky black fur, and her markings, which were similar to his, were pink, her hair was the same color pink, and was up in a ponytail. Her blue eyes sparkled in the lowlights of the bar and pub, as she wiped down the countertops, took his empty beer bottle and poured him something a bit stronger, and set it before him with a wink. She was in a tube top that looked like it could barely hold back the girls which looked to be around DD-sized cups. She had on denim short shorts, bangles, and gold hoop earrings in her ears. She had on purple sparkle eye shadow and pink lip gloss.

Names, Carina, what about you, cutie?

Shadow looks up at her, as he takes his drink and takes a sip, finding it to be whiskey. Humming out he answers her.

Shadow. Shadow the hedgehog.

Well, Shadow, it's nice to meet you.

So what was that about Tabius not coming in tonight? I was told this is part of his turf.

Yeah, well, that much is true. Or was.

Was? Care to enlighten me?

Sure. He lost this in a bet some weeks ago, against someone better than him. Stronger than him. Someone who could finally put the bastard in his place. But rumor has it he's planning his revenge against the guy for it. Why are you looking for Tabius anyway?

I want him for my Extreme Gear team.

Carina holds up two fingers in a gun pose, aims it right in between Shadow's eyes, and makes a shot sound as she pulls back the trigger.

It's what his father wanted, saying that if he was a real man, he would kill the one person holding him back.

And you know this HOW?

As much as I hate to say it, I grew up with him. Until that day he wasn't such a bad guy. But when he started to follow in his father's footsteps he changed, and now he has everything he wants by getting it in all the wrong ways. I tried to help but he just loves the power and everything that comes with it.

I see.

Carina lets out a sigh, straightens up and folds her arms.

Listen, if you're looking for a powerhouse for your team, may I suggest someone else for you?

Look over there to your right.

Carina nods her head and Shadow follows it.

Do you see that massive grizzly bear over there?

Yeah?

That's Sasha Vandercroft. AKA Tank. Now I know he isn't who you were hoping for, but I can promise you he is a lot better for you than Tabius.

Funny you pointed him out.

She looks at him with a raised eyebrow.

I was going to seek him out next, and ask him to become the backup for my team.

You don't say?

She smiles at him as she puts her fingers in her mouth and whistles.

YO, TANK! OVER HERE BIG GUY! GOT SOMEONE YOU NEED TO MEET!

Tank looks up and over at Carina. He nods at her and finishes the rest of his beer as he gets up. Already Shadow could see he was fairly big, As he does someone follows him. A very pretty little Grolar bear who looked like a little Chinese porcelain doll next to him followed him. She hangs on his arm, as they walk on over and he looks down at her and smiles. As they make it over he stands before Shadow and already he could tell he was bigger than most grizzly bears his size. Standing up, and looking up at him, even Shadow of all Mobians felt slightly intimidated by him. The girl next to him could see this and giggle.

Don't let his size fool you. Tank is a big softy once you get to know him. But he can be just as mean if pushed right. But till then he wouldn't hurt a little kitten. Huh, Tank?

My girl, Bitsy, is right. I may look big, mean, and nasty, but I'm not all bad. So what can I do for you?

Well, I was hoping to talk with you about joining my Extreme Gear team.

Extreme Gear huh? Grab your drink and follow me. Carina mind getting us something to eat?

Sure thing, Tank I'll be right over with the usual for you and Bitsy. What about you Shadow? Anything you would like? On the house?

They head back over to the table Tank and Bitsy were at and sit down. They start talking. After a bit, Carina comes out with their food and drinks and they start talking.

I see. So G.U.N gave files out to be looked over but your friend Belladonna wishes to find her own path and is letting you have the top pick from them. Did I get that right?

More or less, yes. So how about it? Since everyone is saying Tabius is shit, and bad news, want to join?

Sure, I've been trying to look for a team to join up with. But a lot of people get intimidated by me. It's why I have Bitsy with me. She helps ease people's nerves a little bit.

Yeah, it's true. Though those who already know him to be a big teddy bear as is. Unlike my brother who is just a downright jerk.

Bitsy lets out a deep sigh and folds her arms slumping in her seat.

I don't know why, but I feel like he's changed since he met his new girlfriend, Eris.

Upon hearing Eris' name, Shadow nearly choked on his soda and started coughing. Tank tries to help him but he holds up a hand to let him know he is alright as he looks at Bitsy.

Did you say, Eris?

Yeah, why?

Bitsy looks at him confused.

Your brother wouldn't happen to be a big creamy tan-white Grolar Bear with chocolate brown hands up to his elbows, and knees, with a light brown face like that of a Siamese cat, blue eyes, wears blue jean shorts with a vest, brown fingerless gloves, has his hair up in a ponytail most of the time and is ugly as Tank is big, and goes by Birch?

Bitsy looks at him a bit surprised, but she lets out a sigh and nods.

That'd be the one and only. Hey, you know, now that I think about it, you look like the guy he's told us that's been a thorn in his side of late. Saying his name is Shade or something?

Well, as you know, it's Shadow, not Shade, but yeah it's me alright. And he's been a big pain in my ass just as much. He's lucky I even saved his damn hide that day when I could have broken his neck and just taken the Chaos Emerald from him. Ungrateful bear. Next time I'll do it.

Shadow lets out an annoyed sigh, not planning on going through with his threat anytime soon, but it makes Bitsy giggle and she smiles at him.

Yeah, he has that effect on some. Even Tank. I've lost count on how many times he and Tank have gone at it, and all because we're going out. Birch doesn't trust Tank because of the rep he has made for himself. Even if it was unintentional. But anyway, that aside, in truth you don't seem like a bad guy at all, Shadow. You seem pretty cool to me.

No problem, but as I was saying, ever since he got with that Eris person he has yet to bring over for our family to meet her. He seems different somehow. I can't place my finger on it, but I just know something is up and I hate it. I'm worried about him. Tank says I shouldn't but I know my big brother. It's not like him to ignore me or father or anyone. It's like something has taken him over or something. I know you see it too, Tank. So don't go say you haven't. I mean you two tend to fight at least once a day, and it's been HOW since you two went at it?

Not sure, to be honest, but a few weeks I think, and now that I think about it, it all started, or stopped I should say when he got with her. But I have seen him kind of acting a bit strange of late. Not by much, only little things. Even, Bark has seen it. Even his grandfather has seen something has changed and we think it may not be good. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried about the creep.

Same. And that isn't all, either.

What do you mean?

Shadow looks at Bitsy curiously. She looks at Tank who looked just worried, but sighs out and nods.

After an hour I feel we can trust him. In truth, I get the funny feeling we were meant to meet up.

Yeah, I felt it from the moment he walked in. I don't think it was fate that brought us together, Shadow. But something more.

Go on?

Shadow tells her now more than ever truly intrigued by what she had to say. With a sigh, Bitsy looks around and makes sure no one was around to overhear them, and seeing they were the only ones near the far back she goes on.

I've been having these strange dreams of late.

Dreams?

Yeah. They're not like the normal ones one would have. But...I don't know. They feel...DIFFERENT to me somehow. Almost real. Like some things have happened, or will happen, and soon. They feel almost...VAGUE... in a way. I only get little bits here and there, but it feels like something is about to happen and something BIG. Like Mobius wide big. At times the things I see feel more like NIGHTMARES to me. I'll wake up screaming because of them, and Tank, daddy, and Birch will come into my room to calm me down. Though when Birch comes in, he tends to be behind either Tank or daddy, and he will just lean against the door looking at me annoyed that he was woken up.

Bitsy lets out a sigh and brings her knees up to herself and holds them as she leans into Tank, who places an arm around her. Her ears fold back as she looks at Shadow.

He used to be the first one to come to me when I had nightmares. Now he's the last one. We used to be so close to one another, and now I feel like I lost him to Eris. Whoever she may be. He no longer wishes to hang out with me, saying that he has work, or Tinnie and Micha need him, or he's with Eris now. He even stood me up on my birthday for Eris. And he has NEVER done that. He promised me when I turned sixteen he would take me to New Neo Tokyo, to go shopping and spend the whole week there doing whatever I wanted.

But he never took you, did he?

Shadow asks her.

No, he didn't, he said he had things he needed to do for the Wildlife Center, things to do for Eris, and more. He's never ditched me on my birthday before.

I will admit that is strange. But what of the nightmares you've been having?

Oh, right. Well I only remember a bit of them, and I see things like an army of strange creatures, they look like they're dead, or maybe half dead, like zombies or something? But they have these strange markings on them, and they all have these black sclera with glowing red eyes...like yours…

Bitsy looks at Shadow and sees his eyes for the first time as she goes on, not once looking away from him.

But the leaders…gold or amber eyes…They're not truly zombies...but people who have come back from the dead...but they're possessed by creatures everyone thought were gone. Creatures that once came to Mobius and wanted to harvest everyone for food. They...they…

Bitsy starts to lose focus as her eyes glaze over. Both Shadow and Tank could see something was up as Tank gently tries to snap her out of it, but she doesn't snap out of it. Instead visions of fire, people screaming and strange creatures roaming the lands, sea, and air take hold of her vision as she sees someone who looks like her brother come out of the smoke and fire with some other next to him. It was female in form and shape as she and what looked to be Birch stood up on a hill with an army of others next to them. Each possesses a bright shining gem above them. Tank looks at Shadow who looks at him as Bitsy speaks in a voice that sounded like hers, but at the same time wasn't hers.

The time of fire and ash will come on the night of the blood-red moon. The seven Emeralds will come into play as the Dark Queen takes a new form. Casting aside her vessel, of that of the Princess of a race thought gone, she will call on her fallen brethren from the dead, granting them new life and new bodies. Together with her generals they will start a war and siege the monarchy and bring them to their knees.

Tank, what is going on?

Shadow asks him, a little bit freaked out.

I-I don't know. I've never seen her do this before.

River reaches for the gem on her necklaces and taps it. It shines a little light, just barely enough for them to see. They look around and Thunder taps her shoulder.

Nice work, Thunder. See if you can get them lit with some rocks.

River helps him look and soon they find some rocks. After a couple of times, they finally get the torches lit. Thunder holds his up as River and the others take theirs and light them. It didn't take long and soon they could see.

Whoa! Look at this place!

Sunny exclaimed as she looked around. They were in a huge room, and all around them were old artifacts too old and too busted to be truly recognized, with nothing more than a good guess. River places her gem back on its chain and she walks off. Radian sees this and follows her.

They hurry over as River leads the way where they soon come to a mural on the wall.

Moving his fans back and forth, he manages to whip up a strong wind and sends it at the mural. Within moments a huge dust cloud forms making River, Sunny, and Thunder cough as Radian backs off a bit. Soon the dust cloud settles and everything becomes quiet. After a moment, there comes a clicking sound as Thunder helps relight the torches once more. As they take hold of their torches they look and gasp.

Whoooa….W-What is this?

I'm not one hundred percent sure, but I think it has something to do with Dr. Long and what he has told us.

Yes, but I was only able to get so much last time, but now I can get more so long as you remember to bring my equipment.

River taps her gem and a holo file shows up, and she opens it up and shows the pictures she took then.

"I couldn't take very many pictures then because it was covered in vines and dust. But what I could make out was this. A Chaos Emerald. When I uncovered what I could I found more and what looked to be some sort of story behind it. But that isn't all. Look here at this symbol."

River brings up a strange symbol that looks like a spiral with spikes coming out of it. When Wave saw it she gasped. Even Jet and Thunder looked just as shocked as Scarlet asked what it was.

"What is that?

That's IMPOSSIBLE!?

Wave tells her, as Jet lets out a sigh and folds his arms.

"Where did you find this uncle Storm?

Just a little bit away in the jungle, shortly after you left. I thought I heard and saw someone so I went to check it out, and I found that instead. I thought maybe it belonged to one of your girls but, Sunny, Scarlet, and Wave said they have never seen it before. I asked Jet and the boys and nothing. I found it kind of funny how our team's logo is on it. What about you, River, have you seen it before?

No, I haven't but I get the feeling there is something very special about it. Would you mind if I held onto it?

The whole place was alight and right away River calls on her drones to start taking pictures of the mural. Well, starting from last time, when mom, dad, and Uncle Storm said that symbol was of Black Arms origins, I've added to it and managed to read things over and it looks like this is more than a temple. But a battleship.

During the building of the so-called temple, some began to figure out what the temple truly was, and soon a plan was made to warn others or help them stop them. To get rid of these fake GODS. But none would hear of it. Saying they were fools to go against them.

But the weasel wolf tribe would not give up. So in a last-ditch effort, they sought out the Echidna Tribe knowing that they were just as advanced as they were, if not far more advanced. But when they told them, they did not care, ignoring their cries for help saying that they were not worthy of their technology or their help. Looking down upon them as if they were inferior to them. With little else to do, they waited things out. Soon, people started to come to them letting them know that they felt something was off about their GODS as well. And soon a new tribe was built from them and they formed a tribe dedicated to watching the GODS, and called themselves…

We believe them to be the one True Queen of the Black Arms, and all because she was too young and inexperienced to take on the Dark Queen back then. So she used the powers of the Red Star Rings, the Super Emeralds, and Chaos Emeralds to help aid her. But in doing so everything else changed as well.

Letting out a sigh, she turns around only to run into someone who looked at her, not too pleased, as they fold their arms.

River walks over to where her brother was and looks down and sees, Sunny passed out among the bags they brought with them. Giggling softly, she bends down and gently shakes her.

I know, Sunny. But we're heading home now. Hey, Thunder can you come help get Sunny up so we can get packed up?

Thunder comes over to help with Sunny, and soon they manage to get things packed up and they start to head on out. On their way out, there comes a beeping, and River answers her communicator.

Hey, how are things going?

We're on our way back now. We got what I needed and managed to take a lot of photos. Sunny fell asleep during it all but we have her, Thunder is carrying her right now, and we're just nearing the opening to the place.

So what did you find out?

It turns out that the temple isn't a temple, but a battleship.

Well, the New Neo Babylon Rogues for one. What I have here is something that has their name written all over it. This item would be the very thing they would want to take and sell on the black market for big money. What I have would put them on an easy life for the rest of their lives, and their families for at least a good ten to maybe fifty years or so. If not forever. Trust me, what I have could help people if it was given to the right people. But if given to the wrong people it could end badly for so many.

Eris glares at James with a raised eyebrow and folds her arms.

I will not lie about G.U.N. They have done some...QUESTIONABLE things in the past from what I know, and I know none of it is good. But G.U.N has also done good as well. Anyway, just know that till I can get it home, I'll be hiring some guards to watch over this item. Reggie says in a bored tone and in a flash of light they show up in an old abandoned warehouse district where he throws the guy and he goes flying and hits several wooden boxes, breaking them. The men and women in the room look over as their boss comes running over growling.

Reggie yells out as he shoots a Chaos Sphera out at the boar and sends him across the room. The guy hits a wall and he grunts as he slides down it. He groans out as several of his men go running over to him, to help him up. Growling he pushes them off, and he yells out.

GET HIM! GET HIM RIGHT NOW! I WANT THAT CRAVEN DEAD! SHOOT HIM!

I would advise against it. For if you try to, I can not be held responsible for what happens next. And trust me, there is no way you all could take me down...Isn't that right...RONALD…?

Reggie chuckles as Ronald laughs with him. He slowly gets up and the boar looks behind him as several of his men grab their guns ready to shoot.

Both Reggie and Ronald kept up till the ones Ronald had attacked were turned and soon within mere moments, everyone was turned. Around sixty men and women were now under Reggie's control leaving only their boss. Reggie has two of them hold him down as he walks over to him slowly. His tentacles wave about him as he makes his way over. Once close enough he wraps his tentacles around his fat neck and squeezes it making him choke out and he digs his nails into them trying to break free.

Sorry, but no can do. For you see your the last one I need to deal with. With that, Reggie sends a tentacle right into the boar, grabs his heart and pulls it out of him, and tosses the body on the floor where it bleeds out. Reggie tosses the heart next to him and scoffs out. He takes a towel handed to him and cleans himself off as he addresses everyone.

Now that is done, we have work to do. First off get rid of the body and get this place cleaned up. Then after, most of you will be going down to the docks and watching Her Majesty's package till the New Neo Babylon Rogues show up. Seaside Bay...1915 hours...Seaside Tropical City…

Quick Shot pulls the jeep into a parking spot, and he and Knuckles hop out of the front while everyone else follows. They stretch out after a long three-hour drive. Knuckles hums out as he looks around and starts walking off, taking the lead. Everyone hurries to catch up to him as he leads them down the way.

You know, for a so-called City it looks more like a tropical village.

Bella states as she looks around smiling. All around palm trees could be seen lining the walkways, and tropical bushes were all over. Parrots and other wildlife could be seen hanging around or trying to steal food or just annoying people in general that some thought was cute. But even though the jungles of Seaside Bay meet with the Tropical City one could tell it was in harmony with one another. All around, vendors were openly calling out to them and many other tourists trying to sell their handmade wear and jewelry and even clothing and local food, trying to earn a little bit of extra money.

Yeah, I agree with you baby. But it's nice. It has both the qualities of a little Tropical Village while keeping with the modern times.

As they stop, Bella spots something and smiles taking a quick look at it as the boys walk off. Smiling, she buys it and thanks the seller as they bag it for her, and she hurries back to them. Quick Shot sees her and raises an eyebrow at her and she only sticks out her tongue with a wink. He chuckles, shaking his head as he wraps an arm around her waist as Drake speaks.

He leads them up a small hill, where they see a shop up ahead, but as they near it, he looks devastated. Before them was an old shop that looked as if it had seen better days. The sign above the door was broken and hanging on by a hook. The windows were dusty and one was even broken. The door was broken in, and nothing more but splinters. Humming out, he walks over and looks inside, and even the inside was worse than the outside. Inside, shelves were broken, and old hanging racks were rusted and covered in black soot. Clothing that was still visible was nothing but shreds and burnt. There were holes in the wall, and broken display cases all over. Knuckles slowly walks in and his feet crunch over broken glass, and other things.

I...I don't understand? What happened here?

Knuckles looks around shocked as the others walk in taking a look around. As Drake and Jasper look at what looked to be some old gear parts in a broken display case, Bella and Quick Shot look at some clothing that was still notable as clothing. Tails, who had decided to come along at the last second should he be needed, picked up an old damaged Extreme Gear and brushes off the dust and soot, coughing as he does. Knuckles, on the other hand, walks slowly over to a dust and soot-covered picture on the wall. Taking it, he gently brushes off the cracked glass and it shows a picture of him, a green Kangaroo in a red vest, and several tools in his pouch. Next to them was a smaller reddish-brown female Kangaroo who looked to be no more than four or five at the time the photo was taken.

Drakes asks as he nudges an old self with his foot.

After a moment, Knuckles takes hold of her head in his hands and smiles as tears escape his eyes. Riley holds onto his arms as he wipes away her tears.

Knuckles snuffles as she chuckles out.

Daddy had hid me in the closet that night they came, as he spoke to them. But as they were attacking him, I couldn't stay hidden any longer and came out trying to take them on. When Tabius and the rest saw me they only laughed. I had taken a broom and swung it at them trying to get them to leave, and yet they still laughed at me. Tabius took hold of me and I kicked him in his nose. That shut him up but also angered him. Even his followers were not pleased about what I did, but I was. Becoming enraged he threw me down to the floor hard and kicked me. I slid over to my dad and he told them to burn the place down with us in it. I tried to stop them, but one of them ended up kicking me again and I ended up blacking out. When I came to there was smoke in the air, and fire all around. When I realized what was going on, I went to help daddy who was barely alive at the time. I tried to help him, Knuckles I truly did! BUT THERE WAS SO MUCH FIRE AND HE KEPT PUSHING ME AWAY! TELLING ME TO RUN! BUT...BUT….Oh, CHAOS!

Riley wails as Knuckles takes hold of her, placing a hand behind her head and gently pushing her head to his shoulder allowing her to cry. She balls up her fists and goes on…

On the other side of the grounds, Shadow was training with Bitsy who was surprisingly holding her own against him, which impressed him. It was rare that a normal Mobian with little or next to nothing in Chaos Energy could take him on, but so far she was holding her own.

Shadow grunts out as he digs his heels and left hand in the dirt as he holds his midsection. Growling he looks up at Bitsy and she stands there smiling.

Bitsy asks him with a smug look and a hand on her hip. Shadow scoffs out with a smile and gets up.

Bitsy holds up her arm as sparkling golden light forms in the shape of a half arch and a thinner bit of light connects the two ends. Bitsy pulls back on the thinner end, points a finger, and brings her arm down slowly as a golden arrow forms. She points it right at him, at the same time, Shadow calls his attack.

Standing there, Shadow forms several Chaos Spears and sends them at Bitsy, who at the same time unleashes her attack. Right away Birch roars out and runs into the middle of the training grounds with Eris hot on his heels and they call out their attacks.

Tank, Hunter, and Tabitha watch on as all four attacks get ready to collide with one another. Seeing this, Take grabs a hold of Tabitha by her arm and yanks her down off his shoulder making her yelp out surprised as he turns and grabs Hunter, and runs off at the same time the attacks hit one another, Tank jumps the last few feet and calls on a move of his own.

He bends down, holding Hunter and Tabatha close as a barrier of stone surrounds them, protecting them. For a short moment, everything was quiet, till at last an explosion was heard, and shook the ground. Tabitha asks as she tries to see what was going on, but couldn't see anything. They slowly make their way to where the ring was and look around.

Hunter calls out. As they look around they see something and before anyone knows it, someone comes flying out from the dust cloud and Hunter yells out.

Tank turns around as someone was sent flying into him and they both go flying back and into several trees. The trees brake with the force of the impact, till they soon stop. A stiff wind picks up blowing the dust cloud away and standing close by were Eris and Birch. both panting from what happened. River touches the digital map of the docks that showed section C, and a dot shows up.

"Radian, I want you to stick to the shadows and keep watch from below. Let us know if there are any more than fifty people guarding the place.

Radian was behind some shipping containers and looked around the corner to see if he could spot anyone coming his way. Not seeing anyone he moves to the next spot as River's words come back to him…

"Now as you know, it was Radian who alerted me to this. After talking it over we feel it could be a trap. So be ready for anything. Radian, I want you to try and take out as many men as you can without altering the Dock Security, or any of the other guards..."

Present moment…

Radian moves quietly from shadow to shadow. Making sure not to be seen or caught. Seeing a couple of guards ahead of him. He moves in slowly and knocks them out and drags them off and ties them up with the zip ties he had on him. He moves along and presses himself against a crate as a few more come his way, walking right past him. Chuckling softly out, he moves behind them and manages to take two out, as the other one growls out. But he smiles and puts a finger to his lips and points up, making the lady before him tilt her head and look up. Before she could scream, Sunny jumps down from the crate above and sprays her with sleeping gas.

In Sunny's mine…

"Sunny, I want you to stick to the middle ground. Keep watch over Radian and help him out. You'll have your sleeping gas gun with you to knock out people. Once you have done so, Radian will use the zip ties and drag them off.

River points to the digital map again, closer to the shipping crate that Eris owned.

The left side of her body suit was torn and her body was dark coal black, covered in scale-like skin and feathers, with red markings, and her left eye was amber-gold. A bat-like wing sprouted from her back as she held up a claw-like hand, and a whip-like tail with a deadly-looking tip that whips about. She smiled and chuckled as she spoke in a voice not her own.

Each one with torn suits, and now bearing half of a coal black, scaly-like half body, claw-like hands, and strange red marks with amber-gold eyes, and long whip-like tails with deadly looking tips. The most distinctive marking on them was the mark that River had told them about. A spiral-like shell with six sharp points on their arms where the bodies had changed. It was the mark of the Black Arms. Chuckling darkly out, Reggie bends down to grab her, but being quick-witted she looks up and sees he had changed too. Ducking out of his reach, she turns around and makes a run for it. Crying along the way, and not looking back.

Reggie smiles and licks his beak and holds up his fingers and snaps them.

Get her, and bring her to me.

Chuckling out they get ready to go after when someone stops them.

They stop and look over at who it was and upon seeing who it was they kneel to one knee and bow to them. Before them was Trinity. She had nearly completely taken over Eris' body, but some of her remained.

You're majesty.

Princess Trinity, my pet, good evening. And a good evening to you as well, Birch, but what happened to you?

None of your damn business, you damn craven.

Birch growls out as he walks by.

My, my someone is grumpy tonight.

YEAH, AND IF YOU DON'T SHUT UP I'LL FUCKING BREAK YOUR BEAK!

Birch roars at Reggie who only folds his arms and tisks at him.

Now, now, Birch, that is no way to treat a fellow Knight. He was only worried about you. Now, how did things go?

Huffing out, Birch backs off with a growl as Trinity addresses Reggie.

Yes, well, as you can see I have all but the little girl known as Sunny.

Eris looks over at Thunder who raises his head.

With Sunny…

"My little sister is very clever, and smart. Given the chance, she will run back to our family and warn them. It may be a good idea to capture her and turn her to your side. She could be proven a valuable asset to your rise to power.

That may be, but I see no reason to involve a little girl. She is scared now that she is all alone. All she can do is run now. And if she returns home to mommy and daddy, and warns them so be it. Right now we have bigger fish to fry.

What do you mean, your majesty?

Well, River what I mean is, now that I have you, and your little sister is on her way home…

I'm sorry for interrupting, but Sunny would be my cousin, Radian is my twin brother, and Thunder is our Cousin as well.

WHATEVER! JUST SHUT UP RIGHT NOW!

Yes, Princess, again forgive me!"

River bows her head again as Trinity scoffs out and goes on.

"As I was SAYING...now that Sunny is on her way home, and now that I have you and your twin brother and cousin, we need to take action and make it look as if you got away. But I can't have you heading home now since Sunny will tell your family what happened…

Sunny kept running not once looking back. She manages to make it to the spot where they hid their Gear and uncovers them. Panting, she picks hers up and the pack that was underneath it and grabs it. She hops on her gear, wishing she could take them with her, but knew she couldn't carry all three of them. Sobbing, she looks in the pack and sees that everything was there and she flies off and to the blimp. Once she sees it, she reaches into her pocket and takes out a small control box, and presses the button on it. The back opens up and she flies right in and hops off her Gear leaving it where it was and heads right to the front.

Ooooh, I hope I can do this right!

Sunny tosses the bag down on the floor and looks through it. Finding what she needed she runs over to the wheel and starts typing away at the console carefully following the directions in the book she had grabbed from the bag. Once she was sure she got it right, the blimp came to life and at once it started to slowly turn around and fly off. As it flies itself home, Sunny runs over to the communication station and calls home…

Mystic Jungle Forest...Babylon Hideout...0100 hours…

Wave walks over to the communication station on her end and answers it. Upon seeing Sunny she knew something bad had happened.

Sunny! SUNNY WHAT'S WRONG!?

THEIR GONE! THEY'RE ALL GONE AUNTY WAVE!

Sunny wails out as tears fall down her face.

Now hold on!? WHO'S gone!

Wave asks her, becoming worried.

Wave, what is wrong? Is that Sunny?

Yes, something has gone wrong, Scarlet!

WHAT! OH CHAOS NO! NO NO NO! SUNNY, BABY GIRL, WHAT HAPPENED!?

Scarlet goes running over as Jet and Storm come rushing in hearing her yell out. But as she was about to tell them, an explosion goes off behind her and they all gasp out as Sunny goes running to the window and she sees that the docks were now in a blaze.

NOOOOO! THUNDER, RIVER, RADIAN! NOOOOO!

Sunny wails out, as she falls to the floor crying, thinking she had lost her brother, and cousins as a giant robotic bird flies up from the docks and screeches out as it lets loose a torrent of flames from its beak. Wave, Storm, Scarlet, and Jet watch on, mortified at having seen the explosion from where they were as the blimp flies out of range. Wave and Scarlet were too shocked to say anything, as tears fell down their faces. Jet reaches out with a shaky hand as Thunder's legs give out on him and he falls to the floor in shock.

R-R-River...my….my little...sapphire...no...it...it can't be? And...and R-R-Radian...too...my...my… little…mini...me…? How...who...no...

Jet could not comprehend what had happened to his daughter or his son. Wave falls into his side and he instinctively holds her as they fall to the floor as she cries. Scarlet takes a step back and falls, having tripped over Storm, who looks at her as if he didn't recognize her all of a sudden. She looks at him and sitting up she crawls over to him and wraps her arms around him crying. All he could do was bring his arms around her and hold her close as tears fell.

What has happened to River, Thunder, and Radian? Did they truly parish in the fire? Or did they make it out alive?

What is with the robotic bird that Ivan has sent Eris? Did she truly not know about it?

Will Sunny make it home without something else going wrong?

Will, Wave, Jet, Storm, and Scarlet ever recover from the loss of their children?
