Sophie came in her older sister's room before she quietly made her way to her sister's bed. She then shook the teenager awake.
"Wake up silly billy, it's your first day of school!" she whispered.
"Sophie, go away," Charlotte mumbled.
"No amount of your grumpiness will make me sad. It's your first day of high school and mamma told me to wake you," Sophie said.
"What? Oh my God, today's my first day of high school!" Charlotte said with a huge grin to her sister.
"That's what I said," Sophie rolled her eyes. "Come on, let's go have breakfast!"
"Oh yes!" Charlotte jumped right out of bed and ran with Sophie to the kitchen.
The family ate breakfast together, Charlotte was awake and excited for the first time, it was super cute.
"Okay, I have to finish getting ready," Charlotte said before going upstairs to her room. She chose a floral dress and sandals, since it was still summer, and did her hair. She curled it a little bit and did a simple makeup before grabbing her bag and going downstairs.
"Bye Char, have a nice day at school!" Beca said from her car.
"Bye mom!" Charlotte smiled and waved, going to the bus stop.
Charlotte took the bus and was soon met with one of best friends, Maya, before Alice joined them.
"I wonder if we have some class together," Charlotte said.
"Please, let us have English together so I can partner with you," Alice said to the brunette.
Charlotte laughed.
"Me? Why do you wanna partner with me?" Charlotte asked.
"Hello? You're super smart and English is your best subject," Alice said.
"But this was middle school English, not high school English," Charlotte explained.
"Let's hope you're still good in English," Maya said.
The girls had homeroom together, Charlotte was in a more advanced math class, they had English together and Biology, for their joy.
They went to homeroom and took their seats.
"I wonder if the teacher will be anything like Ms. Darbus from High School Musical," Maya said.
"Yeah, Maya, 'cause life is just like a movie," Charlotte rolled her eyes with a chuckle.
The teacher announced they had musicals and plays, which didn't surprise them. Charlotte was very excited though and was keen to sign up for the fall musical.
"I'm gonna sign up at lunch time," Charlotte said.
"Uh oh, we don't have the same lunchtime, Char! Maya and I are at one time and you are at another time!" Alice said.
"Oh no!" Charlotte said. "Damn!"
"Language, Char!" Maya said.
"This was an emergency, Maya," Charlotte explained.
"That's okay, we'll figure it out," Alice said.
"Yeah," Maya said.
Charlotte nodded before sighing.
As promised, the girl went all the way to the auditorium, getting lost at first, to sign up for the fall musical. She smiled as she grabbed a pink pen and wrote her name on the signup sheet.
"Nice penmanship," a voice said from behind Charlotte and the girl jumped out of her skin before turning around.
She was met with a relatively short girl, she was shorter than her, she had a pixie cut and pink tips, which looked awesome, and a piercing on her nose.
"Thanks," Charlotte blushed.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Callie," the girl said before extending her hand.
Charlotte was so quick to meet the girl's hand she dropped her books, which made her blush harder and immediately drop to her knees to pick them up.
Callie laughed before helping her.
"I didn't catch your name," she said.
"Oh, sorry, I'm Charlotte, but you can call me Char," Charlotte said.
"Wait, are you Charlotte Beale-Mitchell? Daughter of the legendary Beca Mitchell?" Callie asked.
Charlotte was used to it. She looked a lot like her mom, a lot of people asked her about Beca. Most were more interested in being friends with her so they could meet her mom. This was kind of annoying and Charlotte hated it.
"Yeah," Charlotte said.
"Nice! You look just like her!" Callie said.
"Thanks, a lot of people tell me that," Charlotte couldn't stop blushing.
"Have you eaten yet?" Callie asked.
"No,"
"Nice, come on, let's eat," Callie said and went down the hall. Charlotte hot on her heels. "You look like a Freshman,"
"I am a Freshman," Charlotte nodded.
"I'm a Sophomore," Callie said. "Welcome."
"Thanks," Charlotte said.
"So you're following your mom's footsteps?" Callie asked.
"What do you mean?"
"Your mom is a kickass music producer and you're probably a singer," Callie said.
"Oh, yeah," Charlotte chuckled. "I mean, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree."
"I have a few people you'd like to meet," Callie said.
"I would?"
"Yeah, they're part of the LGBT club," Callie said. "You could join, given who your mothers are."
"That'd be great, I'd love to join a club!" Charlotte said.
"That's great, you don't have to be gay or anything to join," Callie explained.
"Oh, to be honest I don't know what I am," Charlotte said before closing her mouth. She didn't know where that came from, she never spilled her guts to complete strangers.
"You don't need to know," Callie said. "Nobody's gonna ask you, we just like to hang out and have pep rallies to raise awareness of anti LGBT messages in school. It happens a lot."
"That sucks," Charlotte said.
"It definitely does," Callie said as they made their way through the cafeteria. "If we got your mom to go to one of our pep rallies it'd be awesome!"
"Oh, I think she'd like that," Charlotte said. "My other mom, Chloe, would love to, too. She's taken me and my sisters to LA Pride a hundred times."
"I've heard about your sisters, Sophie and Leslie, right?" Callie said.
"Yeah. Sophie is a piece, she could be a comedian and Leslie's more closed off but she's fun too," Charlotte said. "I love them."
"I bet, I saw Sophie at the Grammy's," Callie said. "Come on, there they are."
Charlotte sat down with four more people. 2 guys and 2 girls.
"Hey! Who's that?" one of the guys said.
"This is Charlotte Mitchell, she's Beca Mitchell's daughter!" Callie said.
"Nice! I love your mom!" the same guy said. "By the way I'm Liam."
"I'm Oliver,"
"I'm Piper,"
"And I'm Amanda but you can call me Mandy,"
"And you all can call me Char," Charlotte said before taking a seat.
"Char here was signing up for the fall musical," Callie said.
"Really? Do you sing?" Oliver asked.
"I do, actually," Charlotte said.
"Wait, you were in a TV show when you were younger weren't you?" Piper asked.
"Yeah, she won an Emmy," Callie said before looking at Charlotte.
"I did," Charlotte said with a blush.
"That's awesome," Liam said.
"We're such great fans of your mom," Oliver said.
"Yeah, we'd love to meet her," Amanda said.
"Guys, guys, calm down, the girl's a Freshman and it's only her first day," Callie said. "She doesn't need people feasting on her mother."
The others looked disappointed but Charlotte looked thankful for Callie's words.
"Well I do think my mom's coming to pick me up," Charlotte said.
"Nice! Can we please meet her?" Amanda bit her lip.
"Sure," Charlotte said.
If these people were interested in being her friends so they could meet her mom, Charlotte was going to get them off her back once and for all. She didn't need them following her around school to ask her about her mom.
"Thank you so much!" Oliver said.
"We've been waiting for so long to have a friend with a cool mom," Liam said.
"Oh so none of our moms are cool?" Callie asked.
"Not as cool as Beca Mitchell," Liam said. "How many tattoos does she have?"
"15 and counting," Charlotte said.
"Whoa," Liam said.
"That is awesome!" Oliver said.
Charlotte chuckled.
"Your mom is also pretty young isn't she?" Callie asked.
"Yeah, she's not even 35 yet," Charlotte said.
"That is so cool," Amanda said.
"We've been asking about your mom too much, so what about you?" Callie rested an elbow on the table before resting her head on her hand.
"What about me?" Charlotte asked.
"What are you like?" Callie asked.
"I think I'm pretty cool," Charlotte said with a chuckle. "My moms think so too."
The others chuckled.

By the time the end of the day came near, Charlotte was standing with her new friends and old friends waiting for her mom. Alice and Maya were going over to go to the pool.
"Her ma also bakes the best cookies!" Alice told Amanda.
"Really?" Amanda asked.
"Yeah," Alice said.
Beca's white Audi was seen in the parking lot and the teenagers made their way to it. Beca rolled down the backseat window to show Sophie wearing sunglasses.
"Get in loser, we're going home," Sophie said.
"Oh my God she's so cute!" Amanda said.
"Can I take your sister home?" Piper asked.
"Char, who are these people wanting to take me home?" Sophie asked.
"Those are my new friends, Amanda and Piper," Charlotte said. "The guys are Liam and Oliver,"
"Hey guys!" Beca said from her window and there was screaming. She laughed and covered her ears. "It's nice to meet everybody."
"Mom, these are Liam, Piper, Amanda, Oliver and Callie," Charlotte said.
Beca waved.
"It's so nice to meet you, Mrs. Mitchell!" Liam said.
"Please, call me Beca," Beca said. "And I'm sorry guys, we're in a hurry. Anytime you wanna come over to enjoy the pool, please feel free."
"Beca Mitchell invited us over to enjoy her pool!" Oliver said with a squeal.
"Bite me, I'm dreaming," Liam said.
"It's 'pinch me'," Piper said.
"Whatever," Liam rolled his eyes before making his way inside followed by Oliver, Amanda and Piper.
Alice and Maya got in next to Sophie and closed the door while Charlotte opened the passenger seat door.
"Sorry about that," Callie said. "They can be quite extravagant."
"I noticed," Charlotte chuckled.
"They're pretty cool," Callie said.
"I can see that," Charlotte said.
"It was nice to meet you," Callie said.
Charlotte smiled and blushed.
"You too," Charlotte said.
"See you tomorrow?" Callie asked.
"Sure!" Charlotte said probably overly excited.
"So do you have a number?" Callie asked and bit her lower lip.
"Oh yeah!" Charlotte said before giving Callie her number.
"I'll text you," Callie promised before leaving a little reluctantly.
Charlotte blushed and smiled before getting in her car.
"Char and that girl sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes love, then comes marriage then comes Char with a baby carriage!" Sophie said as Beca drove off.
"Sophie, lay off your sister," Beca said.
"It looks like someone has a crush!" Alice said, poking Charlotte.
"Shut up, I don't," Charlotte said.
"I was talking about Callie," Alice said.
"Yeah, she totally has the hots for you," Maya said.
"No she doesn't," Charlotte blushed.
"Yes she does," Beca said. "Sorry to butt in but she does. I know a girl with a crush and that was it,"
"I'm so jealous, it's your first day and you manage to get someone to crush on you," Maya said.
Charlotte blushed again but hit it with a chuckle.
oO0Oo
It wasn't surprising that Charlotte spent the next few weeks texting Callie nonstop, it was cute but worrying at the same time. Beca and Chloe didn't like Charlotte spending so much time on her phone but they knew it was for a good cause.
Charlotte and Callie spent practically all their time together. Anytime Charlotte would invite Alice and Maya over, she also invited Callie. And the other two would pretty much stay quiet and watch the interaction. It was so obvious Charlotte and Callie had a thing for each other, it was so cute.
Chloe and Beca didn't pry, they knew how it felt to have a crush and have your parents teasing you is the worst, so they waited for Charlotte to come to them if she needed anything.
It was a calm Thursday afternoon, the kids were doing their homework, until they heard a scream echo through the house.
Beca was in her studio and she was going to check what the scream was about until Charlotte came running in with her phone in hand.
"What happened? Are you okay?" Beca asked.
"Callie just asked me out for tomorrow night," Charlotte said excitedly.
"Oh my God, this is so exciting! Your first date!" Beca said.
"What do I say?" Charlotte said.
"Duh, don't be dumb and say yes, you obviously like her," Beca said.
Charlotte immediately typed out her response.
"She asked me to a dinner and a movie," Charlotte said.
"Nice. But nothing too mature, you're still only 14," Beca said.
"I promise," Charlotte said.
"Come on, give me a hug," Beca smiled and hugged her oldest daughter. "I can't believe my baby has her first official date!"
"Me neither!" Charlotte said.
"And wear a nice lipstick, you might get your first kiss," Beca winked.
"Wait, how do I kiss?" Charlotte asked.
"What?"
"If I get my kiss, how do I kiss?" Charlotte asked.
"Go talk to Chloe about this," Beca said with a chuckle.
"Thanks mom!" Charlotte said before she ran off to find her mother.
There was more squealing throughout the house and Beca chuckled.
Chloe and Charlotte jumped and squealed and Charlotte asked how she was supposed to kiss. Chloe tried to explain the best she could that kissing was no big deal and that it was easier than it looked.
Charlotte was still nervous but Chloe said not to think about it until it happened and she was calmer. She then helped her daughter pick out an outfit to wear and promised that she'd do her makeup as well.
When Friday came, Charlotte put on the outfit her mom had helped her choose and let her do her makeup. She insisted that Beca took pictures because she'd like to remember her first date.
"What time is she supposed to come?" Beca asked, checking her watch.
The doorbell rang and the three chuckled.
"Now," Charlotte said before stepping down to answer the door and, sure enough, Callie was standing there.
"Hey," Callie smiled.
"Hey," Charlotte blushed.
"You look beautiful," Callie looked her up and down.
"Thanks, you too," Charlotte said.
Callie grabbed her hand and placed a soft kiss on it before looking up at Charlotte.
"Shall we?" she asked.
"We shall," Charlotte said. "Bye mom, bye ma!"
"Remember, home by 10," Beca said.
"Will do, Mrs. Mitchell," Callie said, taking Charlotte's hand and guiding her to her car.
Callie drove them to the restaurant and held Charlotte's hand the entire time. She insisted on paying, which meant Charlotte insisted on paying their tickets to the movie.
Their talk had a natural, easy flow, nothing was forced and there was no awkward silence.
Callie paid for dinner before they were off to the movies. Charlotte ordered popcorn for them to share and Callie let her hold the bucket.
Charlotte was paying attention to the movie, she felt Callie slipping her arm around her waist and pulling her closer. She blushed and looked at the girl with a smile before she was met with soft lips on her own. She was nervous but she followed Chloe's advice and just went with the flow, Callie taking the lead and she allowed herself to be led through the kiss. She was surprised when the girl pushed her tongue against her lips and she gasped, opening her mouth and that was when she was met with Callie's tongue, which meant she probably had to use hers, so she went with it, trying not to shove it down the other girl's throat. She hummed as she enjoyed the kiss before Callie pulled apart.
"You're a really good kisser," Callie said.
"Thanks!" Charlotte said. "You are, too."
"Thanks," Callie blushed.
They enjoyed the rest of the movie, occasionally stealing a couple of kisses before they were off. Callie drove off to Charlotte's house to drop her off and she parked in front of the house.
"I had a lot of fun, Char," Callie said.
"Me too," Charlotte blushed.
"So does that mean you're up for a second date?" Callie asked.
"Just name the date and I'll go," Charlotte promised.
Callie smiled before kissing Charlotte's cheek.
"Bye, now go before your moms get mad at me," Callie said.
Charlotte chuckled before opening the door. She walked home and got in with a happy sigh.
"Someone looks happy," Beca said from the living room where she and Chloe were cuddling on the couch.
"Someone just had an amazing first date!" Charlotte said before entering the living room and sitting on the couch next to her mothers.
"How was it?" Chloe asked.
"Amazing!" Charlotte said. "We kissed."
"Oh my God really?" Chloe asked.
"My baby had her first kiss!" Beca said. "Did you like it?"
"I loved it, mom, I could kiss her forever," Charlotte said.
"Awwwww!" the two women said.
"We're so happy for you, sweetie!" Chloe said.
"So happy," Beca said. "And thank her for bringing you home before curfew."
"I will," Charlotte said. "I'm gonna take my makeup off and join you guys."
Charlotte made her way to the stairs when she spotted Sophie with a bag of popcorn in hand getting ready to leave the kitchen.
"Hey Char, how was your first date?" she asked.
"It was amazing but Sophie, what are you doing up?" Charlotte asked.
"I got hungry so I made popcorn," Sophie said.
"I can see that, Soph," Charlotte said with a chuckle.
Sophie smiled.
"Are you going to brush your teeth after you eat your popcorn?" Charlotte asked.
"Duh,"
"Don't 'duh' me," Charlotte frowned. "How do you feel about sharing that popcorn with your favorite sister?"
"I can't have a favorite sister but sure," Sophie said. "But hurry,"
Charlotte chuckled and went upstairs to her room.
