Omake Week 2021, Day 6: I considered holding this one for Halloween, but nah, Halloween can go get its own fics. Thanks go to my lovely Natsuki, Tarma Hartley, for suggesting "Shizuru snuggles up to Natsuki while watching a scary movie" as a theme!

"Grrargh! Aghbllagh!"

The row of zombies advanced slowly, implacably, clawing at the air in front of them as if their hunger was so intense that they couldn't stop even when prey was not actually within reach. Not that this was likely to be the case for much longer; the bare-chested, well-muscled man in Bermuda shorts and the blonde beauty wearing a tattered sundress were clearly exhausted, at the end of their stamina while the undead horde was relentless, tireless in their pursuit.

"Eeek!" squealed Shizuru Fujino as she flung herself at Natsuki.

"Oof!" Natsuki tried to push Shizuru aside. "Can you get off me? I'm trying to watch this!"

It was, admittedly, difficult to watch the television when her face was covered with her girlfriend's bosom, which was both significant and underdressed.

Shizuru backed off and pouted.

"I thought Natsuki wanted to watch a horror movie so that when her girlfriend got frightened said girlfriend would fling herself into Natsuki's arms in terror, needing the comfort and support of Natsuki's strong body pressed tightly against her own."

Natsuki sighed.

"I had a feeling that was the case when you showed up for movie night in your skimpiest nightie even though it's only eight p.m. I was just hoping you'd wait for the credits to roll before you pounced. But no, this was not a thinly veiled attempt at copping a feel. On one hand, I like cheesy, low-budget zombie movies; they're fun, if silly. And on the other hand, the last thing I need to do is make excuses to get you to fling yourself into my arms. All I need to do is stand still. And maybe breathe."

"Natsuki ikezu. I'm not always like that."

"True. Sometimes you sleep."

Shizuru, always a model of ladylike grace and elegance, stuck out her tongue at Natsuki. Then, she offered a flirtatious grin. "Ah, then Natsuki does not know what I get up to in my dreams!"

"Idiot. But seriously, just wait until the movie's over and I'll happily put myself in your hands for the rest of the evening." Natsuki had, it will be noted, discovered during the two years she'd been dating Shizuru that she also possessed an intensely passionate side when with the right person.

Shizuru smiled at her. This was not her usual serene smile, full of mystery and secrets. No, this smile was fully a smirk, with every bit as much self-indulgent smugness as Reito Kanzaki himself could have managed.

"I trust Natsuki will remember that when she can no longer feel her legs."

Natsuki doubted there would be any regrets. Horror movie producers knew their audience and there was a good reason for casting two ex-AV stars as the leads. There was a lot to say about the complex cultural and literary interplay between sex and violence, but on a base level a lot of horror movies were date films at heart.

"Do you see what happened to the remote? I missed what went on the last five minutes while my view was blocked."

"Kannin na. It went flying when I flung myself at you, I think."

Natsuki was afraid they'd have to get up and turn on the lights to search, which would have killed the spooky and romantic moods alike, but fortunately she was a dog owner. Duran snuffled up to her and dropped the remote into her lap.

"Good boy!" she cheered and stroked his head. "You definitely deserve some popcorn for that."

Duran's tail thumped happily against the rug. Virtue may have been its own reward, but praise and snacks were a nice bonus! Natsuki reached for the popcorn—

"Aaagh!"

She yanked her hand back in shocked surprise as multiple snakelike heads burst up through the popcorn, scattering kernels everywhere.

"Kiyohime, what are you doing in the popcorn bowl?" Natsuki shrieked.

"Cam'ph brthmph," came from beneath her.

"Oh. Sorry, Shizuru." Natsuki disentangled herself from her girlfriend, blushing every bit as brightly as she did when Shizuru teased her. Indeed, it was an odd feeling to have one of those blushes come from another source.

Shizuru let out a gasp, then grinned at her.

"There are worse ways to go," she couldn't resist saying.

"Why do we even own a popcorn bowl big enough to hold a medium-sized hydra?"

"I think it was because we hosted last year's HiME reunion party?"

"Oh, yeah. Well, I hope all that popcorn you scarfed was worth it, Kiyohime, because you're going to be in that bathtub scrubbing until every last hint of melted butter is out of your scales!"
