Disclaimer: I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.

Author's Note: Well, it's been awhile again.

Okay, this'll sound like an excuse, but before I continued this fanfic, I'd wanted to go back and watch GX in full, but, unfortunately, I slacked off on that.

However, certain recent events have shaken the fandom, and I don't feel like I should hold off too long on posting a tribute chapter.

With that said, this isn't a good chapter for said tribute. There's a much better one later on. But this does mean I'll get to work to get that one out sooner, rather than later.

In the meantime, here's a Chazz chapter on Chazz's birthday.

With Zane crashing the tournament, and taking Dimitri's spot, the festivities were currently on hold.

Following the announcement of Zane competing was an hour break, likely so all the gamblers could place their bets on this next duel, and the duel that followed. In the meantime, an interview with Zane's teacher, Former Chancellor Sheppard, was being conducted.

As for yours truly, I was busy with an important fight of my own.

"Give me the chocolate bar!" I said, shaking a vending machine.

…What? I hadn't eaten all day and the thing ate my dollar.

Thankfully, I managed to knock one loose and headed back for the stadium to get a good seat.

I won't lie to you, I was excited for this match. Sure, I was worried Zane might try some mind games with Chazz, but still, Zane's was one of the greatest duelists I'd gone up against, and Chazz had come a long way from that arrogant elitist snob he used to be. This was a duel I didn't intend to miss!

"Hey, greenhorn!"

I looked behind me to find a guy about twice my age stumbling over to me.

"You think you got a shot at winning this?" The guy asked.

"What'd ya mean?" I asked.

"I mean some snot-nosed no-name ain't gonna get in the way of my money!" The guy shouted, jabbing a finger at me. "Now, you're gonna take a fall, so I can collect when the French Champion wins this tourney. Otherwise, I'll hafta get physical."

Oh, good. I was being threatened.

"You wanna try your hand against me?" I asked, reaching for my deck.

"That how it's gonna be?" The guy asked, cracking his knuckles. "Nothing personal, brat. I just got debts to pay."

"You know, threatening someone only proves how little faith you have in the player you bet on."

That voice came from behind the guy.

He turned around, and I looked past him. A guy around my age with a babyface was walking up.

"You wanna make something of this?" The old guy asked, in a threatening manner.

From the looks of things, the babyface guy seemed scrawny, so I was shaking my head, warning him to get out of here.

"Hey, I'm here for the same reason as you." The babyface said. "Although, now that I think about it, you do owe me a c-note after the Intercontinental Championship."

Old guy gulped at that.

"Tell you what." Babyface guy said. "You leave this kid alone, I'll forget all about that."

This caused the old guy to take off running.

"I thought so." The babyface guy said.

"Hey, thanks for that, bro." I said, holding out my hand.

"You can thank me by winning the tournament." The babyface guy said, before chuckling. "I'm only kidding."

The guy shook my hand, and we started walking to the arena.

"If anyone tries that again, come find me." Babyface said. "A lot of the more unscrupulous gamblers here owe me."

"Uh, sure, but… why would you do that for me?" I asked.

Before you ask, no, this guy wasn't Syrus having come back from the other dimension. He was a little taller, and his hair color was completely off.

"I used to go here." Babyface explained, looking around the halls. "After I graduated, I tried my hand at the Pro League. It didn't work out. So I took up betting on duels instead. And as luck would have it, two years after I graduated, the guy who beat the Shadow Riders came onto the scene."

"No autographs, please." I said, chucking.

"Because so few people knew what a great Duelist you were, I made a fortune betting on you." Babyface said. "So, I owe you a lot."

"Well, I'm glad to know someone profited from my year off." I said.

When we got to the arena, nearly all the seats were packed!

"Darn!" I said. "I guess I'll have to convince Hassleberry to let me watch from the sidelines."

Suffice to say, security was gonna be heavy for this duel.

"If you want, I've got an extra spot." Babyface said, holding up an extra ticket.

"You do?" I asked.

"I wanted my girlfriend to come with me, but she had to run her shop back home." Babyface said with a sigh. "And my best friend refused to come when he found out the Princeton's went to a rival camera company for their equipment. So it's available if you wa-"

"Sure!" I said, enthusiastically.

Smiling like I did seemed to freak Babyface out. Note to self: Don't do that when people offer you a seat to one of your most anticipated duels.

Once we were seated, I looked down into the arena. Zane was sitting, breathing in deeply, massaging his muscles. He only stood up when Chazz walked into the arena.

"So, you didn't run off." Zane said, massaging a shoulder.

"If Jaden could defeat you seven years ago, I don't have anything to worry about." Chazz said, smirking.

"Jaden only defeated me because I ran out of cards." Zane said. "I'm not going to make that mistake again."

"Zane, you can't really be willing to humiliate Chazz on live television, can you?" Atticus asked, from the side of the ring.

Zane shot him a glare.

"I don't want to hear that from someone who didn't even bother participating." Zane growled.

Well, there went any thoughts I had of the old Zane being in there.

Atticus took his position in a booth above the arena, while Zane and Chazz shuffled each other's decks.

"This will be quite the match, folks!" Atticus said into his microphone. "I know these two duelists personally, and let me tell you, they really are two of the best! During his time at the Academy, Zane Truesdale was treated as an emperor! Meanwhile, Chazz Princeton was the top ranked Obelisk Blue his freshman year! With both using a mix of dragons and machines, this should be a match that'll go down in history!"

Chazz and Zane activated their Duel Disks.

"Duel!"

And so, finally, the first official match of the Genex Tournament began.

"You go first." Zane said. "You'll need all the help you can get!"

Chazz didn't respond and just drew a card.

"I summon Ojama Blue in Defense Mode and end my turn." Chazz said.

A blue Ojama with pursed lips appeared and looked at Zane.

"He doesn't seem so tough." Ojama Blue said, crossing his arms smugly.

Ojama Yellow appeared on Chazz's shoulder.

"Hey, you're finally using the Ojama cousins, Boss!" Ojama Yellow cried happily.

"Quiet." Chazz whispered. "Do you know how crazy I'll look if I'm caught talking to you with all the cameras around?"

"Still using those weak things, Chazz?" Zane asked.

Chazz smirked.

"Anyone can win with an overpowered beat stick." Chazz said, proudly. "It takes talent to win with trash."

"Trash is too much of a compliment for the toejam over there." Zane said, drawing a card. "Luckily, I know your real strategy! I activate Abyssal Designator! For the cost of a mere 1000 Life Points, I get to choose an attribute and type, like Wind and Dragon, and you send a monster matching those to the graveyard! You've still got those Armed Dragons, don't you?"

Zane's Life Points lowered to 3000, while Dark King of the Abyss appeared and dragged Armed Dragon LV3 into a pit.

"Next I summon Cyberdark Horn in Attack Mode!" Zane said.

Cyberdark Horn wriggled onto the field, as Armed Dragon LV3 was pulled out of the pit and attached to Horn. Horn's Attack Points raised to 2000.

"Oh, I get it!" I said. "Zane sends one of Chazz's dragons to the graveyard so he could equip it to Cyberdark Horn!"

"Good thing Princeton didn't send a stronger monster." Babyface said, nodding.

"Cyberdark Horn, blast away that toejam!" Zane said.

Horn fired a laser at Ojama Blue, who shattered.

"Don't forget my Horn's effect!" Zane yelled.

Horn could deal piercing damage, and with Blue's 1000 Defense, Chazz's Life Points dropped to 3000.

"When Ojama Blue is destroyed, I can search my deck for two Ojama cards!" Chazz said, pulling two cards.

"Your turn." Zane said, breathing heavily. Wait, Chazz was the one who took the attack. Why was Zane out of breath?

"I activate Ojamatch!" Chazz said, discarding another card. "I can send an Ojama to the grave, then bring another Ojama and an Armed Dragon to my hand!"

Chazz searched out two cards from his deck, then a pink Ojama with five eyes appeared on his field.

"Now we've got literal vomit." Zane said.

"That's nothing." The pink Ojama said. "You should hear what my wife calls me."

"Thanks to my Ojamatch, I can summon the Ojama I added to my hand." Chazz said. "And from there, I can sacrifice Ojama Pink to bring out my Armed Dragon!"

Ojama Pink was struck by lightning and after the dust settled, a smaller version of Armed Dragon LV5, with lightning bolts in it's stomach, appeared.

Then, Zane noticed an eye on top of his deck. One was on Chazz's too.

"What is this?" Zane asked.

"When Ojama Pink is sent to the grave, we each draw one card and discard another." Chazz explained.

Both of them drew a card, then discarded, only for Chazz to pull three more cards from his deck.

"Ojamagic?" Zane asked.

"Unlike you, my monsters don't leech off each other, but support each other!" Chazz said. "Like this!"

Chazz discarded Ojama Green, and a green lightning bolt hit LV5. LV5 grew into an Armed Dragon LV7 covered in crackling electricity. Chazz did the same thing with Ojama Black. Black lightning struck LV7, who powered up into a new version of Armed Dragon LV10 with wings made from electricity.

"Armed Dragon was never able to level up that fast." Zane said.

"That's because this is the new and improved Armed Dragon Thunder!" Chazz said. "I'll set a facedown. Now, Thunder LV10! Attack Cyberdark Horn! Static Orb Sunder!"

Armed Dragon Thunder lifted an arm in the air, as lightning rained down on the battlefield, frying Cyberdark Horn and dealing Zane another 1000 damage, putting him at 2000 Life Points.

Zane dropped to a knee and clutched his chest.

"Y'know, I've gambled a lot of things, but money and possessions can be replaced." Babyface said, turning to look at me. "What Zane's put on the line can't be."

"What?" I asked. "His honor?"

"His life." Babyface said.

"His life?!" I cried out.

"I've made a quick buck from the Underground before, seen the horrors." Babyface explained. "A lot of duelists there quit before those shock collars can do any lasting harm. But Zane's kept at it. In the past few years though, he's been dueling less and less."

"Just get to the point!" I said.

"The electrical shocks have weakened Zane's heart." Babyface said. "Dueling exacerbates it. Even without the collars, he's putting his life on the line."

My eyes widened and my blood ran cold.

"Any time he duels, he could die." Babyface said, looking dead serious.

I stood up and leaned over the seats.

"CHAZZ!" I shouted as loudly as possible.

Chazz looked up at me in sheer anger.

"I'm trying to duel, Slacker!" Chazz yelled back.

"Zane's got a heart condition!" I yelled. "Dueling makes it worse!"

This changed Chazz's attitude.

"What?!" Chazz asked, before turning to Zane. "Why didn't you say anything?!"

"Are you going to finish your turn, or not?" Zane asked, still breathing heavily.

Chazz groaned, then looked to Atticus, "Call the duel!"

"Right!" Atticus said. "Since Zane is too ill to continue-"

Slade's face popped up on the screen above the arena.

"Not yet!" Slade said.

"He can't keep this up!" Chazz said.

Jagger appeared on a split screen next to Slade.

"Did you forget you said you'd take responsibility for our guest here?" Jagger asked.

Chazz sneered.

"That's before I knew about his condition!" Chazz shouted.

"Doesn't anyone care what I think?" Zane asked.

Everyone turned to Zane.

"I entered this tournament despite my heart!" Zane said, placing a hand in his chest. "If you think a little chest pain is enough to keep me down, you're severely underestimating me."

"See?" Jagger asked. "He's fine with it."

"If you're that worried, show everyone how fast you can win, baby brother." Slade said.

The screen returned to black again.

For whatever it's worth, Slade and Jagger did send a medical unit into the room a few minutes later.

Once the duel resumed, Zane drew a card. It was Pot of Greed, so he obviously got two more cards from that. Moving on.

"I discard Cyberdark Cannon so I can add Cyberdark Keel to my hand!" Zane said. "Then I activate my Cyberdark Impact! This allows me to summon Cyberdark Dragon by returning the cards in my hand and graveyard to my deck!"

Hey, did he just steal Neos' gimmick?!

Keel appeared on the field, while Horn and Edge rose from the grave. The three swirled together and made Cyberdark Dragon. Through Dragon's effect, Cyberdark Cannon appeared and attached itself to Cyberdark Dragon. Cyberdark Dragon's attack raised to 2600.

"That's still not as strong as Armed Dragon Thunder." I said, scratching my head. "What's Zane doing?"

"Now I cast Future Fusion!" Zane said. "I'm sure you remember my duel against Jaden when I graduated! This allows me to send my three Cyber Dragons to the grave and summon Cyber End Dragon early!"

Three copies of Cyber Dragon appeared, before swirling together and making Cyber End Dragon.

"I'll finish up by playing Polymerization!" Zane said. "You're not the only one with an improved monster, Chazz!"

Cyberdark Dragon released Cannon and quickly latched on to Cyber End Dragon, who could only cry out in pain. Poor thing.

"Cyberdark End Dragon!" Zane yelled.

The new monster, looking just like if Cyber End Dragon was under the effect of Cyberdark Dragon, had a massive 5000 Attack Points.

"Just like Cyberdark Dragon, I can take a monster from the grave and use it to power up my Cyberdark End Dragon!" Zane said.

Armed Dragon Thunder LV7 rose out of the grave. Two of Cyber End Dragon's mouths bit down on Armed Dragon LV7's arms. Electricity ran through Cyber End Dragon. Cyberdark Dragon, however, was unaffected. Fitting.

"Ooh, that looks painful." Ojama Yellow said, wiping a tear from his eye.

"Your dragon doesn't look any stronger." Chazz said.

"Cyberdark End Dragon gains an extra attack for each card equipped to it!" Zane said, then clutched his chest. "Jaden! Are you still watching?! You're my next target, so I expect you to prepare for this!"

Cyberdark Dragon puppeteered Cyber End Dragon to charge an electric attack in it's free mouth.

"He's planning to destroy Armed Dragon with the first attack, then strike for game with the second?" Babyface asked.

"Cyberdark End Dragon!" Zane yelled."Dark Strident Electric Stream!"

Cyberdark End Dragon fired it's attack. However, the attack fizzled out as Ojama Yellow sat on Armed Dragon's shoulder.

"Ready when you are, Boss!" Yellow said.

"What?!" Zane yelled.

"One of Thunder's powers." Chazz said. "As long as he has 1000 or more Attack Points, I get to discard a card from my hand, destroy another card on the field, and add another 1000 Attack Points to Armed Dragon!"

"Too bad Cyberdark End Dragon is unaffected by activated effects!" Zane yelled.

"I wasn't aiming for that abomination!" Chazz said, wagging a finger at Zane.

Armed Dragon picked up Ojama Yellow, who was charged with electricity. Ojama Yellow was thrown at Armed Dragon Thunder LV7. The two hit each other and shattered.

Zane growled, then turned to Chazz.

"Even if I don't defeat you this turn, it doesn't matter!" Zane said, confidently. "Dark Strident Stream!"

Cyberdark End Dragon fired an attack from the Cyberdark Dragon mouth.

"If you hadn't been so quick to cannibalize Cyber End Dragon, you may have won." Chazz said. "Can't you even hear it's pain?!"

Chazz's facedown turned face-up.

"Armed Dragon Thunderbolt!" Chazz said. "This trap gives my Armed Dragon an extra 1000 Points for each Armed Dragon with a different name and level in my graveyard!"

The spirits of Armed Dragon LV3, Thunder LV5 and Thunder LV7 appeared alongside LV10. Thanks to LV10's effect, it's Attack had raised to 4000, and that now shot up to 7000!

Armed Dragon Thunder LV10 threw a ball of electricity which swallowed Cyberdark End Dragon's attack, before hitting the parasitic dragon, destroying it. Zane dropped to his knees, gasping and clawing at his chest.

"Because of Armed Dragon Thunderbolt, you don't take damage this time." Chazz said. "But with your best monster gone, and the pain you're in, I suggest you give up."

Zane slowly rose to his feet.

"Are you kidding? I haven't felt this alive in years!" Zane said, smiling sadistically. "I'll play my last card facedown and end my turn!"

"He's not gonna give up, is he?" I asked.

"Zane's really pushing this to the limit." Babyface said. "Is he just trying to bluff, hoping Princeton will give up, or does he really think he can keep going?"

Chazz drew a card, and Zane smirked.

"Call of the Haunted!" Zane said, as his facedown turned upwards.

Cyber End Dragon appeared in Defense Mode, standing between Zane and Armed Dragon.

"That's just like Zane, folks!" Atticus said. "Always finding a way to bring his favorite card back!"

Atticus was wrong though. Zane used to use Cyber End as his ace. Now? It was just a shield against Chazz's attack.

"Armed Dragon, put Cyber End Dragon out of it's misery!" Chazz said.

Armed Dragon destroyed Cyber End, and that was it for Chazz's turn.

"You're disappointing me here, Zane." Chazz said. "For a second, I thought I'd be dueling against the old you, but I guess that duel against Dimi was a fluke."

Zane sneered at the card he drew.

"Graceful Charity!" Zane said, drawing three cards, and discarding two. "That's more like it. Card of Sanctity!"

Chazz's hand was full, so Zane was the only one who drew six cards.

"I activate Cyber Repair Plant!" Zane said.

"Since Zane has three Cyber Dragons in his graveyard, he can add a Light Machine monster from his deck to his hand, then add one from his graveyard to his deck!" Atticus said. "What is his strategy?"

Now, I'm no professional… Wait, yeah, I am. But it seemed like Zane's cards weren't responding to him. Like he was just playing whatever he could to win.

"I'll summon the monster I added to my hand." Zane said. "Cyber Dragon Core!"

A worm or serpent made of small mechanical parts with 1500 Defense Points appeared and coiled itself into a ball.

"Now, by Core's effect, I can add a Spell or Trap with Cyber in it's name from my deck to my hand!" Zane said, pulling a card from his deck. "And finally, I play Evolution Burst! With this, as long as I have a Cyber Dragon on my field, I get to destroy one of my opponent's cards! So say goodbye to Armed Dragon Thunder LV10!"

Cyber Dragon Core shot a laser from it's mouth at Armed Dragon and destroyed it instantly.

"That'll be it for my turn." Zane said, panting.

"I play Tri-Wight!" Chazz said. "This brings three of my Level 2 or lower Normal Monsters back from the grave."

Ojama Yellow, Green and Black stumbled around on the field, acting like zombies.

"Then I'll end my turn with a couple of facedowns." Chazz said, two cards showing appearing between him and the Ojamas.

"Relying on those same weaklings again?" Zane asked, glaring at the three. "Let me squash them for you!"

Zane held up Cyber Emergency.

"That lets Zane add a Cyber Dragon and a Light Machine monster that can't regularly be summoned to his hand!" Atticus said. "Could he be planning on bringing out Cyber Barrier Dragon?"

Two cards flew out of Zane's deck and into his hand.

"I activate another Polymerization!" Zane said. "I use the Cyber Dragon in my hand and the Core on my field! Rampage across the wasteland and destroy all the weaklings that get caught up in your battles! Chimeratech Rampage Dragon!"

A mechanical core appeared on the field. Vents opened up as Cyber Dragon heads popped out of them. 2100 Attack Points stared down each of them Ojamas, who immediately quit the zombie act and shook in fear.

"Chazz, do something!" The Ojama brothers yelled in unison.

"Don't forget my facedowns." Chazz said.

"I haven't." Zane said. "When it's summoned, Rampage Dragon destroys a Spell or Trap for each card used to summon it."

The two mouths shot beams at Chazz's facedown cards, shattering them.

"Oh, that's a heartbreaker!" Atticus said, grabbing his head. "For those just listening, Chazz's facedowns were Direct Border, which would have stopped monsters with 1000 or more Attack Points from declaring an attack, and Ojama Delta Wear, which would have revived the Ojamas if they were destroyed!"

"Now I use Rampage Dragon's other effect!" Zane said. "By sending two Light Machine monsters from my deck to the grave, Rampage Dragon gets an extra attack!"

The spirits of Cyber Laser and Cyber Barrier Dragons appeared next to Chimeratech Rampage Dragon.

"Go, Chimeratech Rampage Dragon!" Zane said. "Berserk Barrage!"

Both the dragon heads shot at Ojama Black and Ojama Green, while one of Rampage Dragon's tails smacked Ojama Yellow into the ground. If they hadn't been in Defense Mode, Chazz would've lost right then and there.

"You finished?" Chazz asked, tapping his foot impatiently.

"Go ahead and take your turn." Zane said. "If you keep using those Ojamas, you'll never overcome my rampage."

"Actually, I meant, are you finished with that attitude?" Chazz said. "Clearly you still haven't gotten it by now."

Chazz drew a card.

"Go, Armed Dragon Thunder LV3!" Chazz said.

A version of Armed Dragon LV3 with electricity in it's hands and 1200 Attack Points appeared in front of Chazz.

"Now take this!" Chazz said, holding up a card. "Fusion Buster!"

A sword appeared in front of Armed Dragon, who grabbed it as his points rose to 1500.

"That's still not enough!" Zane said, then placed a hand to his chest.

"So, I guess you don't know." Chazz said. "Think of this card like an equip version of De-Fusion. I can choose a Fusion monster in your field and return it for the monsters that made it."

Chimeratech Rampage Dragon broke down into Cyber Dragon and Core, both in Attack Mode.

"It won't be enough to finish off Cyber Dragon, but I can destroy that Core!" Chazz said.

Armed Dragon swung the sword at Cyber Dragon Core. With only 400 Attack Points, the Core was nothing against Armed Dragon and was sliced in half. Zane's Life Points fell to 900.

"I end my turn." Chazz said.

Zane held up a card.

"I summon Attachment Cybern!" Zane said.

A cybernetic wyvern with 1600 Attack Points appeared next to Cyber Dragon.

"1600 minus 1500 is 100 and…" I said, counting on my fingers, then turned to Babyface. "Zane still doesn't have enough points to beat Chazz, right?"

Babyface just chuckled slightly.

"I can equip Cybern to any Cyber monster on my field, as long as it's Machine or Dragon type!" Zane said.

Attachment Cybern… attached itself to Cyber Dragon. Guess that explains the name. Anyway, Cyber Dragon's Attack Points increased to 2900.

"That's even less damage than before." I said, still counting on my fingers.

"Now I use my Ruthless Denial spell card!" Zane said. "I destroy one of my monsters and discard one card from your hand!"

Cyber Dragon, along with Attachment Cybern, shattered, and part of the shrapnel hit a card in Chazz's hand.

"Did you forget you just equipped your monster with a card?" Chazz asked.

"Actually, Chazz, he did that on purpose!" Atticus said. "When a monster equipped with Attachment Cybern is destroyed, Zane gets to summon another Cyber monster from his graveyard!"

Cyber End Dragon rose in the field. Huh. Not a bad strategy. And he brought Cyber End Dragon back. Maybe the old Zane wasn't completely lost after all.

"Bringing that back just to throw it away again?" Chazz asked, mockingly.

"You won't be making jokes like that when you're on a losing streak!" Zane said. "Cyber End Dragon, Super Strident Blaze!"

Cyber End Dragon blasted Armed Dragon away, as Chazz's Life Points dropped to 500.

"I activate the effect of Ojamarking in my graveyard!" Chazz said.

"With that, when one of Chazz's monsters is destroyed, he can remove Ojamarking from his grave and bring an Ojama back to his field!" Atticus explained.

"But when…" Zane started, and then his eyes widened with realization. "Ruthless Denial!"

Ojama Yellow appeared on the field, in Defense Mode.

"Uh, Boss, have you gone off your rocker?!" Ojama Yellow asked. "I can't take down Cyber End Dragon!"

"You won't." Chazz whispered. "You're going to win this whole duel for me."

With their aces on the field, and both below 1000 Life Points, Zane's turn ended, and Chazz switched Ojama Yellow into Attack Mode.

"I activate Secret Pass to the Treasure!" Chazz said. "This turn, one of my monsters with 1000 or less Attack Points can attack you directly."

"Big deal." Zane said, pulling at his shirt. "Even if the earwax there can get past my Cyber End Dragon, it doesn't have any Attack Points! It's an utter weakling!"

"All this because you lost a few duels?" Chazz asked, dismissively. "Y'know, I used to look up to you and respect you, Zane! I remember wanting to be your opponent in your graduation match. But seeing you now? You're a disappointment! So you lost a few duels, had a losing streak. So what?! I did too! But I managed to build myself back up! I found a way to keep going! You're mistake wasn't respecting your opponent's! It was running from the challenge!"

Chazz placed a card on the field and a tunnel appeared by Ojama Yellow's feet. Yellow crawled through the tunnel and popped out between Cyber End Dragon and Zane.

Ojama Yellow smacked Zane across the face, and Zane's Life Points dropped to 0.

"Incredible!" Atticus shouted. "Chazz used Secret Pass to the Treasure to bypass Cyber End Dragon, and then played Shield Attack to switch Ojama Yellow's Attack and Defense!"

"Challenge me again when your head and heart are back in it." Chazz said.

Chazz walked off the battlefield. Zane stood there in what seemed like shock for several seconds.

"Chazz won!" I shouted.

I high-fived Babyface, who barely returned it, nearly getting smacked in the face by my hand.

The loss must have really made Zane think.

I mean, losing to me was one thing. No, I'm not being cocky for once. I mean, when I beat him, he lost to someone who almost always won. Chazz, however, had lost time and again. Yet he didn't let that twist him like Zane did.

This should've been a great moment. Hopefully one that Zane re-evaluate his life. Except…

"Look!"

I'm not sure who first yelled that, but everyone looked at the arena.

Zane fell face forward onto the field.

The medical unit quickly rushed to Zane's side as everyone in the stands, along with Chazz, looked on in horror.

Zane's heart had finally given out.
