A/N: Merry Christmas! This story is set at the same time as the first half of this story; Sonny and Lisa's first Christmas in their house. Hope you enjoy the story!
"Sonny are we crazy for trying to host this Christmas party?" Lisa asks as her and Sonny put the finishing touches on the decorations inside the house.
"Probably, but it's our first Christmas in the house. Do ya really think the guys would let us get away with not havin the party here?" Sonny chuckles as he watches Davis stretch on her tip toes while trying to hang a wreath.
Lisa gives up and looks at him and sees him laughing at her. "Don't laugh at me Quinn." She says as she playfully punches him in the side.
Sonny walks over to her and wraps his arms around her waist. "I would never."
"You're such a liar." Davis counters.
"Okay, ya got me. But you're just so damn cute I can't help it." He plants softs kisses on her neck.
"Stop distracting me Sonny, we have to get this done."
"You're distractin me." Sonny tries to defend.
Lisa pulls out of his arms and turns to look at him. "I wasn't doing anything. It's not my fault you're super attracted to me."
"Damn Davis." Sonny chuckles as he watches her go back to the task at hand.
"Don't damn Davis me. We have to finish setting everything up and then keep cooking. Oh, and we need to get ready."
"The house looks great babe. If I'm bein honest I never thought our house would be able to look like this." Sonny says.
Lisa cocks her head at him. "Are you saying that after all of these years you didn't think I was capable of such festive décor?"
"Lisa, ya care about target packages and HVT's."
"You're not wrong, but for the first time in my life I get to decorate my house, the house that I own... Well that we own, but you know what I mean." Lisa smiles.
Sonny returns Lisa's smile. "Our house."
"Why does that make me so happy to hear?" Lisa asks.
"Cause Lisa, we worked our asses off to get here. Not only in our careers, but personally too. There was a good period of time that we thought we would never get this moment, but here we are livin that dream."
"I love you." Lisa steps back from the table she had been making the table scape for. "I think I'm done."
"Look at that babe." Sonny says looking over the table. "This looks amazin. I think we are gonna have an amazin night."
"Everyone is certainly excited for the party and the new house." Lisa says walking into the kitchen to work on the food.
Lisa walks into the kitchen after getting ready for the evening to find Sonny arranging the food they had made around the island. "Look at ya Lisa. That dress baby, ya look so good." Sonny says taking in Davis in a bright red long sleeved dress that stopped mid-thigh with a deep plunge in the front.
"Why thank you Sonny." Lisa giggles while popping a brie bite into her mouth. "Where did Sonny Quinn come up with pastry covered brie?"
"Remember a couple of weeks ago when we go real wasted and then the next mornin we were just chilin in bed with the TV on, uh, not really watchin it." Sonny smirks at the memory. "Well at some point I was actually watchin it and they were makin these."
"Mhhmm." Lisa mumbles thinking about that morning. "I'm impressed you remember anything from that morning."
"Ha. Well I'll have ya know, the majority of that memory card is taken up by ya naked." Sonny chuckles. "But for some reason those sounded good."
"I would be offended if you remembered an appetizer and not what I did to you that morning." Lisa giggles as she moves around the island to kiss Sonny on the cheek.
Sonny loops his arm around her waist. "Nothin will ever outshine ya baby."
"Better not." Lisa smiles. "I love this Sonny."
Sonny smiles. "I'm lovin this too." They hear the doorbell ring. "Show time." Sonny laughs as he walks towards the front door.
"Sonny boy." Jason laughs after Sonny opens the door.
"Hey Jace." Sonny shifts his gaze to Emma and Mikey standing with Jason. "Emma, Mikey."
"Hi Sonny." Emma says hugging him as she steps into the house and looks around. "I really like this place."
"Thank ya Emma. Lisa knew the second we walked into the house that it was the one. She had a whole plan before we even went under contract on it."
"Yeah, I agree with Emma. Those little changes, as Davis put it, really paid off, this place looks good. Our little Sonny boy is growing up. You're a real boy now." Jason jokes as he walks into the house.
"Gee thanks Jace." Sonny grumbles.
Lisa looks up as Jason, Emma and Mikey walk into the kitchen. "Merry Christmas guys."
"Merry Christmas to you Lisa. You're looking very festive." Jason Says.
"Thanks Jason. Thought I should actually dress up like a girl for the first time in a while."
"I love your dress." Emma says as she moves around the island to hug Lisa. She leans in a little closer to whisper in her ear. "We need to talk at some point."
Lisa slightly nods. "Thank you."
"Can I help you with anything?" Emma asks as they pull apart.
Davis shakes her head no. "I don't think so. Sonny just finished the turkey."
"Uncle Sonny's fried turkey?" Mikey asks.
"That's right buddy. A Sonny Quinn special." Sonny chuckles as she continues slicing the turkey.
"Aren't we lucky." Jason chuckles as he cracks open a beer.
Lisa finishes arranging the snacks on the kitchen island and looks up at Emma. "You have to see our bathroom. I can't believe how great it turned out."
"Oh, that tub you sent me a picture of, I for sure need to see that." Emma smiles. She could always count on Lisa to come up an excuse for anything.
Once they are in Lisa and Sonny's bedroom and Davis has closed the door behind them, she turns to Emma. "And.."
Emma fidgets for a few seconds before responding. "Clay and I want to tell everyone about us tonight."
Lisa squints her eyes at Emma. "Tonight? On Christmas?"
"Do you think it's a bad idea? Everyone is here and we thought it would work well. You know maybe people will be happy because it's Christmas." Emma says watching Lisa's face for any clues.
"That's not a bad thought..." Davis pauses before continuing. "It's just you know the team. It's the same issue I brought up that day at the cookout, they will always think of you as little Emma Hayes."
Emma sinks onto the bench at the foot of the bed. "We have been together for nearly a year. We have made it work so far. He makes me happy Lisa."
Lisa sits next to her on the bench. "You don't have to convince me, I see it. And I support it. And I have lived it with Sonny. I just want you to understand how much everything changes when you exit your little bubble."
"Clay and I are sick of hiding and lying."
Lisa offers a weak smile. "I know Emma, I do. Sonny and I struggled with that a lot before the team found out. As much as I would have liked to tell them on my own time, it was a relief that they just found out."
"You think we should tell them?" Emma asks.
Davis nods. "If you guys are comfortable with everyone knowing and you know that it might take some time for the guys to warm up to the idea of if; then yes, I do think you should tell them."
"Is Dad going to kill Clay?"
"It's a real possibility." Lisa chuckles.
"God. Why couldn't I have fallen in love with anyone else?" Emma shakes her head knowing the team was going to flip when they found out.
Lisa laughs. "Same Emma same."
Emma stands up. "Okay. Let me actually see this bathroom."
"Oh yeah." Lisa chuckles as she stands and leads Emma into the bathroom. "Here it is."
"Holy crap. Lisa this turned out amazing." Emma exclaims while looking around the room. "So much room for activities." She says with a raised eyebrow.
Lisa manages to keep a straight face. "I have no idea what you're talking about."
"Uh-huh. We should probably get back down stair." Emma says. Lisa nods in agreement.
"You two done playing HGTV?" Jason laughs as they descend the stairs to find the rest of the team has arrived.
"Just because you could care less about where you live doesn't mean everyone feels the same as you Dad."
"That's a little harsh, don't you think Emma." Clay says walking up behind Jason.
Emma looks him up and down and watches him smirk. "No Clay, I don't."
"It's good to see you again Emma. You look lovely this evening." Clay replies. All he could think was how much loved her and how excited he was to be able to tell the world.
"Thank you Clay." Emma brushes his arm as she walks past him.
As Lisa walks back towards the kitchen, she feels Sonny's arms wrap around her. "What was that about?" He whispers.
Lisa turns in his arms, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Everyone is in for a surprise tonight."
"There comin clean?" Sonny asks.
"Yep" Lisa nods.
"Well, well maybe we won't be the hot button issue for once."
"Haha Sonny." Lisa says as she steps back from him. "Doubtful."
"Lisa, this place looks great." Naima says as she approaches Lisa.
"Thank you." Lisa says with a warm smile. "I'm so happy with the way it all came together."
"I'm glad you guys found a place. And if I'm being honest, it's nice not to worry about hosting a Christmas night team dinner." Naima says.
"I'm sure." Lisa nods. "I feel like Sonny and I have been working for the last week or so to get everything ready."
"Right?" Naima chuckles. "And then you want to make sure everything is decorated perfectly and that all of the food is good."
"Seriously. I never knew it was this much work." Lisa says.
"The good news is everyone is here, and all of the food looks ready." Naima says looking around.
"Lisa and Sonny, this is an expansive spread. I'm pretty impressed, although I shouldn't be surprised, Davis rocks anything she does." Blackburn says looking over the table.
"Thank you, Eric." Lisa says. "I just everyone to have a good holiday."
"You have made sure they will, just like always." Eric reassures her.
After everyone has gotten their food and were sitting around the table Emma looked around the group and cleared her throat. "I have something to say."
"About what?" Jason asks stopping dead in his tracks. He watches Clay take her hand. "I'm sorry, what the hell is this? Is he the guy you have been seeing that you wouldn't tell me anything about? Are you serious Emma?"
"Yes Dad. Clay is the guy I have been dating. He is also the same guy that I told you makes me incredibly happy and treats me better than any other guy I have ever dated." Emma says, ever sure of herself.
"Jason." Clay says before Jason cuts him off. "You're not talking yet."
"Dad, don't. Clay wanted to tell you a while ago. I was the one that wanted to keep it just between us, I have really been enjoying our little bubble, if you will. He didn't like hiding it from you, I promise. He was just doing what I wanted."
Jason looks between Emma and Clay. "Emma he is nearly a decade older than you. You guys are in different places in her life. You haven't finished college. You haven't built the career you want yet."
"I'm going to answer that one." Clay speaks up. "Yes, I am eight years older than Emma. But I have no intention of derailing her career, in fact even if she wanted to give up on being a singer, I wouldn't let her throw away everything she has worked so hard to achieve on me. I love her Jace, we love each other. We have been making it work for nearly a year now, we can keep it up."
Jason looks around the table at his team, the same team that has watched his kids grow up, his eys land on Ray. "Do I kill him?"
"Dad." Emma yells going to stand up, but Clay stops her.
Ray looks at Clay and Emma. "I mean, do we really want to replace him? That's a lot of work."
Jason points at Ray. "That's a good point."
"Jace listen." Sonny says. "We know Clay is a good guy. We know he treats women with nothin but respect. She could do a lot worse than Clay. Oh, and ya and Alana made damn sure Emma has a good head on her shoulders. Now, she ain't my daughter, but if I were ya, I would trust her and I would be happy that she found a guy that supports her and loves her and would moves mountains for her, just like ya would."
"Here comes insightful Sonny." Jason chuckles. "I don't like that you guys didn't tell me for a year, but Sonny's right, you could do a lot worse." He lets out a breath. "You plan on staying at school and following all of those big dreams?"
"I do plan on doing all of that. I love Clay and I can't wait to see where life takes us. I don't mean this in a bad way, but I don't want to be like Mom. I want a big crazy life before I settle down, marry an operator and having a kid or two." Emma says.
Jason nods as he listens to Emma. "I'm glad to hear that. Don't think this means I like you more Spencer."
"Thank you Jace." Clay says. He couldn't believe how relieved he felt that the team knew and he wasn't hanging upside down being beaten. Clay leans his head down and whispers in Emma's ear. "I love you."
"I love you too." Emma says before kissing Clay on the cheek.
"Hey, hey, easy on the PDA you two." Ray laughs.
"Relax guys." Emma laughs.
"So how did all of this come about?" Trent asks.
"Well, at the cookout at Naima and Ray's a little over a year ago. We were talking and we just clicked. We kept texting and the longer we talked the more we liked each other. And now here we are." Emma says rubbing Clay's shoulder.
Jason turns to Naima and Ray. "What she is saying, is this is all your fault."
"Don't put this on us." Naima defends. "But, my opinion is that they are good for each other. And they are adorable together."
A huge smile spread across Clay's face. "Thank you, Naima."
Lisa leans over to Sonny and whispers. "You might be right."
Sonny's hand lands on her thigh, his thumb stroking her leg. "Hate to say it, but told ya."
"No you don't." Lisa chuckles.
"Awe, come on now Davis."
"Sonny, that turkey was damn good, as always." Brock says.
"Not only can the man barbecue a fine tbone, he can also fry the hell out of a turkey." Metal agrees with Brock.
"Thank ya guys." Sonny says.
"You may have just made sure you are responsible for the turkey for every party." Naima laughs.
"Now Naima, ya know I ain't got a problem with that." Sonny says as Lisa leans her head on his shoulder. He glances down at Lisa and sees how content she looks. "Did ya ever think we would get here?" He whispers.
Lisa shifts and looks up at him. "No. I'm very happy that I can sit here in front of the team holding your hand with my head on your shoulder."
After a while Sonny looks around the table and sees everyone has finished eating. "Now that everybody is has finished stuffin themselves, should we move this to the fire pit?"
"You guys really made sure this was the party house, didn't you?" Trent chuckles.
Davis nods. "That we did. We wanted to make sure there was a place where everyone could gather and have a great time, where Sonny and I don't have to look over our shoulders all the time and worry."
"That's a damn good reason." Trent agrees. "This is going to sound weird, but sometimes I forget you two are a couple."
"Yeah, Trent's right." Brock agrees.
"Yep. You guys were always so couplely." Metal adds.
"I can't tell you guys how much time I spent telling people at command that those two weren't an item for them just to go and become an item." Blackburn shakes his head. "And now I'm still denying that they are together."
Sonny laughs and shakes his head. "I would always tell Davis that it felt like girlfriend land without the girlfriend benefits, if you know what I mean."
"See, even you guys knew how ridiculous you were." Jason laughs.
"Hey now, it's not our fault we were meant to be together." Lisa chuckles. "It's the universe's fault."
"Uh-huh, sure." Ray comments in a doubting tone.
"Listen here all y'all haters, Davis and I are adorable together. Not to mention, she is the only woman in this world I even try and be good Sonny for." Sonny says before kissing Lisa on the temple.
"If you guys are done being extremely rude to Sonny and me, I suggest we move this to the back yard."
After the group is snuggled in blankets around the fire pit with drinks in hand, Jason looks around the circle and hold up his glass. "A toast." He announces. "First off, to Sonny and Davis for hosting this bunch of fools. Second, as shocked as I am, to Clay and Emma. May you two find all of the happiness in the world. Third, Merry Christmas guys. I know this has not been the easiest year for all of us, but we have come out on top and Bravo team not only survived, it thrived. I am extraordinarily lucky to have such a fine group of people in my life."
