Greg's heart froze. Had the extremists taken Ed out?

"I'd like to speak to my agent, please"

Parker demanded the mysterious man on the other line. He heard faint screams in the background as others fled the building, followed by slight rustling.

"I'm afraid...that won't be possible"

With that, the line went dead. Greg had to make a decision, and make it fast. Risk him and his daughter's life and run inside? Or stand on the sidelines doing nothing? He radios to the remaining unit.

"Jules, Sam, Wordy, 'an Spike. Remain at your points, I'm going in"

Was he insane for doing this? Knowing full and well the dangers that lie ahead? As long as he was aware of his surroundings and played smart, he could stay one step ahead of them. The human reaction was a fascinating one. When faced with times of crisis, some would behave like chickens with their heads lopped off, others, somehow, remaining cool and collected. Whilst the ones in-between was difficult to say.

"This' Sargent Parker with the SRU! Everyone, please evacuate the building!"

He could feel the fear around engulf him. A million thoughts swarming through his head, but perhaps the one that took the forefront, was the one telling him he was a terrible father for making taking such a huge risk surrounding the fragile life of his unborn baby girl. Suddenly, feeling her give a small kick, gave him the courage to trudge on.

If Spike's coordinates were correct, the group should be on the second floor near the voting registration. Lights flickered overhead, he made his way towards the second floor. It was like something out of a post apocalyptic movie. Splashes of light creeping their way across, everyone had since fled. But there, nearly 2 yards ahead of him, was the group. Ed, incapacitated and tied to a chair. Parker slowly reaches for his Glock 17.

"Step away from the agent and exit the building, NOW!"

Greg barked, feeling his daughter stir about slightly. Perhaps she was feeling her father's tension as well. The masked extremists were unperturbed by his orders. He unlocks the safety and makes sure they all could hear as the gun was being cocked.

"Final warning! Comply or I will use deadly force!"

Knowing their cause would be in vain if they were shot by police tactical. The group shockingly complied without struggle. That is, everyone except their leader, whom Greg had presumed was the distorted voice he heard over his radio. Seeing his fellow men depart was more than his already bruised ego could handle.

"Where the Hell do ya think you're all goin'?! GET BACK HERE!"

His demands fell on deaf ears as they continued forward. Greg couldn't help but chuckle. Suddenly, he heard Spike's voice crackle over his earpiece.

"Boss, everything alright?"

Greg raises his index and middle fingers towards the small device.

"All good, Spike. Be on the lookout for the group comin' out"

He kept his other hand clasped around the pistol. Noticing as the leader's demeanor had shifted from pity to stupidly bold. At that moment, Ed began to regain consciousness. Attempting to inconspicuously free his hands from their binds. Without warning, the unnamed man threw a flash-bang, instantly blinding Greg where he stood. The action causing him to unwittingly drop his gun.

Once the glare faded, he saw the leader was now in possession of the Glock. How did things go South so quickly?

"Hey, you shoot me you're goin' away for life killin' an SRU agent"

He called the deranged man's bluff. Just as it had with his followers, this too, fell on deaf ears. He wanted to make a statement. Now, it didn't matter the subject, just as long as it got him the notoriety he so craved. Greg watched, almost helpless and frozen as the extremist raised the pistol to chest-level. A pang striking his heart, he was so ashamed to have put his daughter's tiny innocent life in immediate danger. feeling a hot tear dwell beneath the surface.

"No skin off my teeth. You'll be dead"

He responds in a sardonic fashion. Parker watched as his finger proceeded to press further on the trigger, but before he could pull it. He felt the chill of cold steel pressed up against the back of his head. Hearing Ed faintly say with a chuckle.

"What a coincidence. So will you"

The Sniper chimed. Parker could only stand in stunned silence as he watched Ed cock the pistol and fire a bullet into the man's skull. Killing him instantly. Greg rushes to help the Sniper free of the remaining constraints. Lane couldn't help but give a low chuckle.

"That's what ya get for disobeying orders, Parker"
