A/N: Here is the next chapter in Sonny's recovery. Hope you enjoy it!
"Good morning." Lisa smiles as she walks into Sonny's hospital room. She finds him stretched out in his bed.
"Well, well, well, look who decided to show up." Sonny chuckles.
"Don't be an asshole, Quinn." Lisa says closing the door behind her.
"I would never." Sonny says pulling himself into a sitting position in the bed. "I'll tell ya what, if ya brought me breakfast all is forgiven."
Lisa holds the to go bag up for Sonny to see. "You know if I had it my way I never would have left." Lisa pulls the table over to the bed to sit the bag of food on. "No part of me liked leaving you for three weeks to work on a black site op for another team."
"Baby." Sonny grabs her by the wrist and tugs her towards him. "C'mere and just relax for a minute."
"What is it Sonny?" Lisa looks at him and can see the concern written all over his face.
He pauses before he speaks. "Ya have been gone for nearly three weeks... I miss ya." Sonny says softly.
Davis stopped what she was doing and looked at him. "It's just" Lisa tries to defend, but Sonny cuts her off. "Lisa, I don't need anything but your undivided attention."
"I'm sorry." She says sitting on the bed. All she wanted to do was the right thing for Sonny, but she felt so helpless during this process.
"Don't be sorry." Sonny says stroking her leg. "I'm glad you're here."
"I'm glad I'm here too." Lisa says before leaning forward to kiss him.
"Mmhm." Sonny mumbles. "Have ya slept since ya got back?"
"Do I even need to answer that?" Lisa huffs. "You know I changed and came straight here." She sees Sonny frown at her response. "I'm okay. I slept some on the plane, promise."
"If ya say so." Sonny says not believing her for a second. If there was one thing he knew about Lisa Davis, it was that in tough times she never slowed down.
"I do say so." Lisa says leaning over to pull the table closer to them. "Do you want your breakfast, or would you like to keep grilling me about my sleep habits?"
"I always want food." Sonny states. "And I'm gettin real sick of the crap they try and pass off as food here. State of the art hospital my ass, they should start that upgrade in the kitchen."
"Yes Sonny, the food is what make is state of the art, not the cutting edge care you're receiving." Lisa reminds him
"Whatever, base food is better and that saying a lot." Sonny shakes his head. "I really hope ya got somethin better for me."
"Well, you're in luck then." She smiles. "Eggs, bacon, country fried steak, and grits."
"Now that's a Texas sized breakfast if ya ask me." Sonny chuckles.
"Glad you approve." Lisa smiles. She was happy to just be with him again. She opens her container. "Definitely beats the crap I have been eating for the last three weeks."
"Ima get fat if ya keep lettin me eat like this." Sonny says patting his stomach.
"Seriously? You were just complaining about the crappy food you have been eating." Lisa retorts.
"Yeah, yeah." Sonny mocks as he rips the packaging on the plasticware. "How was the op?"
"Jesus Sonny, you're acting like it has been weeks since you ate last." Lisa laughs watching him.
"The guys have been too busy the last few days to bring me anything." Sonny defends.
She pats him on the thigh. "Poor, poor little Sonny."
"Don't be mean there Davis."
"I would never." Lisa giggles as she kisses him on the forehead.
"Uh-huh baby." Sonny chuckles. "Ya gonna tell me bout the op or not?"
"There isn't much to tell, just some secret intel gathering. Had to wait for the HVT to actually show up. Really nothing out of the ordinary." Lisa shrugs. "Totally wish I was with my boys, though."
"I mean we are the best team." Sonny points his fork at Lisa "And the most fun."
"Yes, you guys are." Lisa smiles. "Is breakfast up to your standard?"
"Hell, yeah it is." Sonny chuckles. "This is good. Have we ever eaten her before? I feel like I would have remembered this."
Lisa shakes her head. "It opened just before I left for this op. Figured it looked like a place you would want to eat at."
"Ya were completely right babe." Sonny mumbles around a full mouth of country fried steak.
"How's PT going? Clay sent me a few videos of you trying to walk." Lisa feels him tense next to her. "What's wrong?"
"I don't want to talk about it." Sonny grumbles.
"No. You need to talk about this." Lisa pushes.
"Because I'm frustrated Lisa." Sonny huffs. "I wanted to be walkin by now."
"I know you want to be, but you'll get there." Lisa rubs his knee. "From what I'm hearing you're really close."
"But I'm still stuck in this damned bed." Sonny grunts, throwing a pillow across the room.
"Woah Sonny. I know you're mad, but breaking shit isn't the way." Lisa says sternly.
"Then what in the hell am I supposed to do Lisa?"
"You are supposed to accept that this is where you're at in this process and then keep pushing through, Sonny. That's what you're supposed to do."
Everything in Sonny wants to keep yelling at her and break everything he can get his hands on, but he knew that wasn't going to fly with Lisa. "This sucks." He grumbles.
Lisa loops her arm around Sonny's and rests her head on her shoulder. "I know it does baby."
"Ya aren't gonna let me self-destruct are ya?" He asks as he kisses the top of her head.
"No Sonny, I'm not. You have worked too hard to get to where you are for me to sit by and let that happen."
"God you're amazin." Sonny leans his head back and closes his eyes, rejoicing in how good it felt to have her by his side again.
