A/N: Happy SAVIS time! This is set the next morning after the last chapter. Let me know what you guys think.

Sonny opens his eyes to find Lisa lying on her side with her head resting on her hand. "Ya watchin me sleep Davis?"

"Actually, yes I was." She smiles. "I have waited very patiently to get you back in my bed, I'm definitely going to enjoy it."

Sonny reaches his right hand out and rests it on Lisa's hip. "I'd be lyin if I said I didn't kinda like it. Normally I'm the one starin, this is a nice change of pace. Ya look beautiful in this mornin sunlight." Sonny smiles, taking in Lisa's bedhead and completely content look on her face.

"Thank you, Sonny." Lisa smiles before leaning forward to kiss him.

"I know I keep sayin this, but I'm so happy to be home with ya." Sonny tells her.

"Me too." Lisa scoots closer to Sonny, resting her head on his chest. "I'm not hurting you, right?"

"Naw baby." Sonny leans his head down and kisses the top of her head. "This is right where I want ya, cuddled up in my arms."

"I love you." Lisa tilts her head up.

Sonny meets their lips. "Love ya too."

"Are you ready to get up?" Lisa asks.

"Not really. I'm enjoyin this a little bit too much." Sonny responds.

"Good." Lisa says snuggling a little tighter into his side. "I'm not ready to be awake yet."

"Go back to sleep baby." Sonny strokes her hair. "Sleep tight."

"Sweet dreams Sonny." Lisa mumbles.

"There ya are." Sonny says finding Lisa in the kitchen.

Lisa turns around from the stove. "Look at you getting out of bed all on your own. Are you supposed to be doing that?"

"Don't steal my little shred of normal." Sonny says leaning against the counter.

Lisa walks over to him and wraps her arms around his waist. "Stop trying to guilt me for wanting to make sure you're not hurting yourself or pushing yourself too hard too fast."

"Is that what I'm doin?" Sonny chuckles.

"Yes Sonny. You are." Lisa looks up at him. "Remember when you wouldn't let me walk down the stairs alone after my surgery."

"What's your point? I was worried bout ya and wanted to..." Sonny stops his thought mid-sentence. "I see your point. I just want ya to know I don't like it."

"Get over it." Lisa says leaning up on her tip toes and gives him a quick kiss.

"Well, what am I allowed to do under your rehab plan nurse Davis?"

"What? I don't get to be Dr. Davis?" Lisa giggles as she moves back into the kitchen.

"Oh, ya want a promotion, do ya?" Sonny chuckles.

"I feel as though I should have just been a doctor, I mean, this is me we are talking about here." Lisa laughs.

"Glad to know ya believe so wholeheartedly in yourself." Sonny says watching her put the finishing touches on their breakfast. "Ya know, I could get real used to bein cooked for."

"Don't even think about getting used to this Quinn." She tosses a dish towel at him. "It's only until you are healed enough to start cooking for me again. You know how much I hate this."

"Yes baby, I am fully aware of you strong feelins towards cookin." Sonny shakes his head. "If ya hate cookin so much then what are ya gonna do bout the food for the party tonight."

"Ah." Lisa says as she turns holding the two plates containing their omelets. "Should we sit down?"

"Yes Ma'am. It's just gonna take me a little longer to get there." Sonny smiles watching her walking around the counter and to the kitchen table.

"Yes Sonny." Lisa pats the seat next to her. "Now come on."

"I'm comin." Sonny grumbles as he makes his way to the kitchen table. He sits down and takes a bite of his omelet. "Thanks baby. Ya never told me what you're doin about tonight."

"The saint that is Naima Perry said she would handle it for me." Lisa leans back in her chair. "She really is an amazing human."

"She is." Sonny nods his head. "She's been keepin this team grounded for as long as I can remember."

"Are you excited about tonight?" Lisa asks.

"It'll be good to see all of the guys without being in a hospital." Sonny tells her.

"Well, you'll be happy to know your boys are just as excited to see you out of the hospital." Lisa smiles.

"They better be." Sonny chuckles.

"God you're full of yourself." Lisa shakes her head.

"Somone's gotta be." Sonny winks.

"Hi." Lisa says opening the front do to find Naima and her family standing on the other side. "Thank you so much for getting all of this. You really are a lifesaver."

Naima shakes her head. "It's the least I could do."

"I guess it would help if I moved out of the way and let you guys in, wouldn't it." Lisa chuckles stepping back from the door.

"Raymond." Lisa tips her head at him as he walks through the door.

"Davis." He returns.

"Hi Jameelah. Hi RJ." Lisa says as the two walk into the house.

"Hi Aunt Lisa." Jameelah smiles. "How are you and Uncle Sonny?"

"We're good. He's really happy to be home." Lisa tells her. "How's school?" Lisa asks as they walk towards the kitchen.

"It's good. I really like drama class." Jameelah tells her.

"Oo drama class, that sounds fun." Lisa smiles.

"It is. You and Uncle Sonny are going to come to our first play, right?"

"You know we will if we can." Lisa assures her.

"Hey y'all." Sonny calls from the sofa.

"Hi Sonny." Naima says as she sits the food she was carrying down and walked over to the sofa to give Sonny a hug. "You look pretty good for a guy that just spent an extended time in the hospital."

"They may have tried to knock me down, but they can't keep me down." Sonny chuckles. Ray walks over to Naima. "Warrant Officer Perry."

"Hey brother, how are you doing?" Ray asks.

"Good. Glad to be home." Sonny tells him.

"Sorry I couldn't make it to the hospital. I just got back in country two days ago." Ray shakes his head.

"Aw no worries man, blondie and Jace kept me plenty company." Sonny says feeling Lisa wrap her arms around his neck.

"What? I don't get any credit?" Lisa asks before kissing him on the cheek.

"Of course ya kept me company Davis, but you're stuck with my ass." Sonny chuckles.

"So it doesn't count? Not cool Quinn." Lisa says standing up to answer the door. "Hey Jace." She says after finding Jason on the other side of the door.

"Hey Davis." He says pulling her into a hug.

She leans down and pats Cerberus on the head. "Hey buddy."

Jason shakes his head. "I feel like you're way happier to see the dog than to see me."

"Well in all fairness, he is way cuter than you." Lisa says standing back up.

"Many women would disagree. Plus, what do you know, you chose Sonny." Jason chuckles.

"I heard that Jace." Sonny calls.

"Aw Sonny boy." Jason laughs as he makes his way over to Sonny and pats him on the shoulder. "How does it feel to be free?"

"Damn good." Sonny tells him. "I woke up this morning with Lisa in my arms now y'all are here."

"That's good man. You're looking good too." Jason tells him.

"Thanks. Hey buddy." Sonny says as Cerberus jumps up on the sofa next to him and laid his head on Sonny's lap. "I know ya just got comfty Cerb, but I think it's fire pit time."

"You want a hand up bud?" Jason extends his hand to Sonny and helps pull him to his feet.

"Thanks Jace. It's a lot easier with help." Sonny chuckles.

"No worries man." Jason tells him. "You're getting around pretty well." He comments following Sonny out to the back yard.

"It don't feel like it." Sonny shakes his head. "I still got a long way to go."

"And you'll get there." Jason assures him.

"Somewhere I know that, I'm just havin a hard time accepting it. This recovery has sucked so far and I know it's just gonna keep suckin." Sonny says making his way onto the patio. "Look at ya Ray, manin the grill in my absence."

"That's what I'm here for brother." Ray watches him walk over to the table. "Do you really not need a walker?"

"Need it, probably. Want it, hell naw." Sonny takes a swig of his beer. "I'm managin without it, I'm just slow."

"Just don't push yourself too much. If I learned anything from my shoulder, it was to listen to my body." Ray tells him.

"Yes daddy Raymond. I won't over do it." Sonny jokes. "Brock and Trent." He calls when he sees the two walking into the back yard.

"Hey Sonny." Brock returns.

"I'm shocked you're letting someone else grill in your own house." Trent teases.

"Ray was just lecturin me about not usin a walker, there's no way in hell he would have let me stand up and grill." Sonny defends.

"Sonny's right, someone's gotta take care of you guys." Ray chuckles.

"Last time I checked that was my job." Clay says walking out onto the patio to join the group.

"This needed the Ray, two is the glue touch." Ray laughs as he turns back to the grill.

"Too bad you left us to be a full-time warrant officer." Brock comments.

"I had to let my little birdies fly on their own." Ray shoots back.

"What's this about Ray abandoning the team?" Metal butts in as he steps out of the house into the back yard.

"You know Metal, you say that like you too didn't leave the team." Ray points out.

Metal cracks open a beer. "Very different. I retired and I'm living my best retired life, you're still in."

"Yeah, yeah." Ray shakes his head.

"I would like to propose a toast to Sonny." Metal says raising his beer. "Out of all the times you have tried to die, this one was definitely the closest you have come. But you true Texas boy style proved even the grim reaper is no match for you. To a speedy recovery."
