My, How Time Has Passed By
(Part II)
Inferno the dragon's Point of View
(Location: Warfang).
(Time: Second Year Of Three).
During the second year of the war, Warfang and her armies managed to hold and fight back against the Dark Master's forces in the western surrounding areas and land. While Warfang had managed to hold this wonderful position for two years, Malefor's true and real target was the northern lands were it snows every year long and were spring and summer rarely happen. This was the land of snow and ice. Everybody in Warfang knew that the Dark Master would try and conquer the northern lands and it's cities for himself and his dark plans, however I knew better. You see, the northern lands were never successful taken over, conquered, or even invaded by an army or military forces. Malefor aka the Dark Master was the first of many dragons and others to try and conquer the northern lands and it's cities, however when you have Kings and their armies from the oldest and biggest of cities such as Northern Light, Golden Lake, Mountain Mist, Ghost's Bay, and Winter Forest cities fighting against you, Malefor had another thing coming to him. The Dark Master and his puppet on the string Ape King Gaul had tried their best to successful conquer and invade the northern lands; however they failed in their conquest to do so. Both he and Ape King Gaul had lost all of their forces in two weeks from the Northern armies and from my good friends help, according my friend Lightmare aka Light told me that Malefor's true prize was to conquer the crowned jewel of the northern lands, that was Northern Light City. I asked my good friend Light about it, but in his words he doesn't know why. None of us really knew what Malefor's real "intensions" were for the northern lands and Northern Light City, but if we had to guess it was most likely to control the north and it's cities so nobody could fight back against him in the near future. As too how many forces that Malefor and Ape King Gaul sent up to the northern lands, was about half their forces. As I said before, the Dark Master's army only survived for two weeks before they were killed and destroyed by the northern armies and my from good friends help of course.
While Lightmare and his friends decided to stay up north to fight and protect their home lands from being taken over by the Dark Master, Light told me and my girlfriend Sapphire to stay and help out with Warfang's fight against the Ape King Gaul's forces from advancing into the western lands and its surrounding areas. Light said to me that Warfang needed me and Sapphire the most, it made sense of course. Because after all it was mine and Sapphire's home and we would do anything to protect our home. As for Theresa, Spyro, Sparxs, and Cynder they all continued in their advanced training from the Dragon Guardians and Sparxs continued doing what he does best, annoy the hell out of everybody. There were times were they would be called in to help us and fight back against the Ape King Gaul's army, but we were glad they came to help us out. Sometimes they would stay in Warfang for about a couple of days and such, and then leave the next day back to the Dragon Temple for their advanced to continue. As for Spyro on the advanced training, he seemed to be doing very well with it for the past two years now. Theresa has told me, there were times Spyro would be tired and angry about advanced training, however Theresa did tell me more whenever Spyro was angry about it or just plain tired Cynder would be there by his side, to talk to him, or when Cynder just walked on by and gave him wink and walked away to whatever the hell she does there, Spyro would brighten up right away and everything else around him didn't even matter, just her which told me something, the light at the end of tunnel for Spyro was Cynder herself. Cynder was Spyro's light, and Spyro was Cynder's light, these two were definitely made for each other. Sapphire, my girlfriend was also doing great and wonderful help in Warfang as well; she was the head leader of the medical and healing units in Warfang and was also training others in the water and healing abilities. I was so happy and glad for her, during our alone time we would talk, cuddled, kiss, or just plain make out with each other. We did have time for our "fun" time when we had some time off of course, but when we couldn't have our "fun" time because of how tired we were of work and fighting we pretty much just spent the entire night sleeping until we woke up late in the afternoon. We were just glad that we were together during these bad and dark times, and that was good enough for us. As for me, I'm not part of the Warfang guard, Army, or Spy group, when I'm needed for work or fighting; they call me and Sapphire in for help and such.
I also had a run in with Requiemas the Lieutenant of the Warfang Guard or I should say former Lieutenant of the Guard. We talked here and there about things, I found out that he was the new Lieutenant of the Spy group in Warfang which by I was greatly surprised by. I asked him how he went from Lieutenant of the Guard too Lieutenant of the Spy group, he told me he asked the Commander of the Guard for an "early" retirement to which I laughed at as did he as well. He asked me several questions into our talking, but the most seriously one of them all was when he asked me, "Where have you and Sapphire been this entire time?" I simply told him, that I and Sapphire stayed with a couple of friends, which was 100% true by the way, but after I told that. I looked to see his eyes to see if he believed my story. From the look I got from him that day, I would say no, but he asked me more different questions that I could try to answer for him and such, which told me he believed my story somewhat, but that was good enough for me and by the looks of Requiemas face it was good enough for him as well. We talked the entire day before we had to head for home; I had to say he was a good dragon to talk as a friend. Light told us that it takes time to trust somebody and that it doesn't happen in one day either, which I had to agree with as well. But after getting to know Requiemas for an entire day and some more, I trusted him enough somewhat.
As for Ember and her gang, they were very quiet and out of sight during the second year, although there had been rumors going around Warfang that Ember was adding more people to her gang, which was false of course. Because if there had been people going to join Ember's gang, there'd be missing people's posters all over the city and such, and guards looking for them, but the rumor was false. I and Sapphire from time to time would spend the entire day to gathering information and such on Ember's location. Even Scarlett or Onyx would come down and spend the entire day to find anything on Ember and her gang, before leaving the next day up north to fight and stop Malefor's forces from invading the northern lands and their homes. Other than that Ember and her gang were neither quiet during the second year. I just hope nothing bad happens during the third and final year, I can only hope.
Onyx the dragon's Point of View
(Location: Somewhere in the Northern Lands).
(Time: Third And Final Year).
The third year was going great for a while, me and my friends managed to hold the northern lands against the Dark Master's forces for some time, Warfang currently has complete control over the central lands, and Ember and her gang were still very quiet and out of sight. However that all changed when Ape King Gaul sent a large group of his apes to attack, control, and force out the Dragon Guardians, Theresa, Spyro, Cynder, and Sparxs out of their home and this all happened in January of the third year. They had managed to take out half the ape group before they called retreat from their leader, Assassin the ape. I don't know where the apes retreated to, but if I had to guess they probably went back to their King and to gather enforcements. While that happened, the Dragon Temple was almost destroyed, but if it wasn't for the Guardians and Spyro and his friends the Dragon Temple would have most likely been a pile of rocks and ash. Ignitus also had to make a difficult call as well, I know deep down in his heart he would've wanted to stay and protect the Temple to the very end along with his fellow Guardians and Spyro and his friends as well. However when you're the leader of a group or army you have to make difficult decisions that others will not like or want to follow with. That's what a leader is all about and for Ignitus it was the most difficult decision to make, that decision was to leave. The others weren't happy with the decision that Ignitus made, but they knew deep down in their hearts it was the right decision to make and follow. They all left for Warfang to live and help out with Warfang in the war, and as for Theresa, Spyro, and Cynder they had finished their advanced training. However Spyro, Cynder, and Sparxs had decided to take the fight to Ape King Gaul and face him in battle to end the war. When Light and I heard this little information from Cyril, the Guardian of Ice we were both mad, but we understood why they did it so we let them go and not to worry about it. For Cyril being the father of Spyro was not happy either about it and either were Forever, but both parents understood what Spyro was fighting for and decided to let them go as well. As for Theresa she went to the southern lands and to help them out with the war and such, according to the letter she sent to me and Light she went down south to help and protect her friends from the war. So we understood why she went, and we did.
When Spyro, Cynder, and Sparxs returned home from defeating and killing Ape King Gaul, the Ape armies fell and without a leader to guide them their armies started falling hard and fast. This was a great victory for Warfang and her armies, they managed to retake and control the north, south, and eastern areas surrounding Warfang and also retaking the central lands again. It was a great victory for them, however the victory was short lived. Even though Spyro and Cynder managed to defeat and kill Gaul, Malefor aka The Dark Master had managed to escape his imprisonment from Convexity mind, body, and soul, and this was only the beginning. As soon as he was released, he and his new army of Grublins attacked and had retaken the north, south, and east surrounding areas around Warfang and managed to retake half of the central lands. Malefor's army of Grublins also captured the eastern and southern lands with within only three weeks; the next targets were the western and northern lands. When Malefor was still in Convexity he had sent an army of apes to try and conquer the northern lands; however I, my friends, and the northern armies managed to destroy the entire army in two weeks. Now Malefor was trying to do it again, but like the first time his entire army of Grublins were destroyed and as for the western lands they did succeed in taken out half of the Grublin army before Malefor pulled them back from the battlefield before they were completely destroyed. If the northern and western lands could defeat entire army of Malefor's force in only two to three weeks, then so could the central, eastern, and southern lands as well, this was a great victory for northern and western lands, and this by giving hope to all over the lands. However that hope was soon destroyed, you see Malefor sent large army of Grublins to attack and destroy Warfang, lucky the citizens were warned of this and left to the western lands for safety and shelter. Warfang's army stayed behind to defend the city as much as they could, lucky Inferno, Sapphire, Requiemas, Spyro, Cynder, the Dragon Guardians, and the cheetahs from Avalar were there to help out as well. Even foxes and the wolf tribes came to help out as well. They managed to force the Grublins out of the city and others saw this as victory, but how wrong they were there though. Malefor only made his Grublins retreat because he had something in store for Warfang, an ancient creature known as the Golem a being of the earth and ground. Malefor sent the Golem into the city and it destroyed many of the buildings and other things as well, it even managed to defeat all of the Dragon Guardians too. Requiemas, Inferno, and Sapphire also had taken on the Golem and managed to destroy its entire right arm and left leg, before they had to retreat to safety from over use of their powers. However, nobody knew that the Golem could rebuild its body parts with the building parts of the city. Lucky the Golem was defeated and killed by Spyro and Cynder's team work. It was a great and noble victory for Warfang; however Malefor had sent a message to Warfang and its people during the night that he had summoned the Destroyer, an ancient golem that could destroy the entire world when it reached the Ring of Annihilation. It didn't just destroy the world; it would bring about the new age and world while destroying the old one which is us, we couldn't have that it had to be to destroyed for once and for all time.
A week had passed by after that, Spyro and Cynder had returned to Warfang safety and soundly. According to them, not only did they stop the Destroyer from destroying our world, they also defeated Malefor and saved the world while Spyro used his powers to repair the world back together. As for Malefor, according to Cynder he was sealed away again to Convexity from the souls of the ancient dragons that once lived many and many years ago. Which meant the war with Malefor was finally over, places could be rebuild and people can heal and live again. But when you fight for peace, freedom, family, and friends it all comes with a great piece as well. Many of the lands lost many people and homes in the war, but none so great when Ignitus sacrificed himself to send Spyro and Cynder from the Belt of Fire to safety and continue on their journey to defeat and stop Malefor from destroying the world. When Fire first heard that her father had died from sacrificing himself to save Spyro and Cynder from flames of the Belt of Fire, her entire world was crushed and even her mother Valentina was crushed just as well from the sad news. Fire wouldn't talk to us for the next week or so, not her even boyfriend Light could help her. I imagined for Spyro it was even more heart breaking and soul crushing for him, for him it would be like losing a best friend or a family member, luckily for him he had a family to come home too. I even heard from Cynder that Spyro almost completely lost control of his dark side from seeing Ignitus die in front of him, luckily for him Cynder snipped him out of it right away, but for me and Light it troubled us greatly. Luckily all of us returned to Light's castle home to rest and celebrity, Theresa returned to us a week later and was glad to be home, Inferno and Sapphire decided to stay in Warfang seeing how it was safe to live there again, Requiemas from what I know is still with the Spy group and as to where he is living now for that I don't know, Venus one of Lightning's good friends and love interest (But you didn't hear me say that though.) decided to stay in Warfang with her now new boyfriend and live a happy life with him, as to what his name is I really don't care and Light, and them still haven't forgiven her for leaving Lightning and as for Keeper the cheetah he went back north to one of his tribes and is now a leader of them. As for Lightning he went back home to his mountain and now lives there alone, Light has asked him to come live with us at his castle home, however Lightning is thinking about it.
As for Ember and her gang, they've been rather quiet and out of sight during the whole fair, and frankly I'd rather not talk about it. All I can say is that their still in the city of Warfang and doing god's knows what. Cyril the Guardian of Ice, is now the new leader of the Dragon Guardians and the new Dragon Temple with Terrador being in second of command, it was right choice to make and as for their being a new Fire Guardian, that's still being decided till this very day, but I imagine the guardianship would go to Fire the dragoness, Ignitus's eldest daughter. But for now, that's all I can say, but I better get going there's a funeral in Warfang for Ignitus the fire dragon, the Guardian of Fire and I don't want to miss it.
Present Time
(Time: Three years and one month, and an half have passed.)
(Location: Warfang city square (being rebuilt), a statue of Ignitus is built there in honor of his life.).
"Ignitus had a tough life when he was the Guardian, but he when was with me, Fire, and the kids, all of us had great and most wonderful of times together, but with him gone now I'll always treasure moments we had together and as a family." Valentina said sadly to the many people in city square, Spyro slowly and surely wrapped his tail around with Cynder's and wing wrapped around her black scaled body pushing her to his right side with both of them leaning their heads in together with tears running down their muzzles, Requiemas who by their right side had his head down in thought and pray while his sharp green eyes were half closed in sorrow before he turned his pale red scaled head towards the dragoness on his right who had a water fall of tears running down her red scaled short and feminine muzzle, which was none other than Fire the dragoness, and while Theresa who was on Fire's right side lowered her sky blue narrow and short muzzle down to ground with her eyes closed shut. Inferno and Sapphire who were on Spyro's left side had their tails wrapped around each other while Sparxs sat on his head and cried to himself softly, Sapphire close to his red scaled body with his red right wing wrapped around bright blue body with their heads side by side while humming a tune together, and with Cyril, Volteer, Terrador, and Forever side by side on the stage also their scaled heads down in sorrow and loss of their best friend. As Valentina continued talking to the crowed who were filled with sorrow and pain, not too far away from city square there stood up above the an old church with an roof caving in was a bell tower, with four dragon figures standing there and watching the whole event from city square. These four dragons had their heads down in sorrow, wings folded against their sides, and their scaled tails moving freely behind them, these four dragons where none other than Onyx, Light, Lightning, and Scarlett the dragons. For a few minutes or so they kept their scaled heads down in thought and pray, before they had lifted up them and opened their eyes to the world and scene unfolding before them in city square. They continued looking down at the scene before them, until Onyx broke the silence between them all.
"It's a shame we can't be down there and pay our respects normally like every else does." Onyx said softly to Light, Lightning, and Scarlett, Light turned his white scaled head to his left and looked at Onyx with a calm and peaceful look on his Cyril like muzzle.
"You know why we can't go down Onyx? If we stepped one paw in there the Commander of the Guard and his guards will chase us down all around the whole goddamn country side just to capture and kill us. You really want that?" Light said peaceful to Onyx, while Onyx turned his jet black scaled head to his right side to stare Light with his blood eyes.
"No, not really." Onyx said nicely to Light.
"Well there you go." Light said to Onyx calmly while he and Onyx turned their heads back to see the scene before them, and then Scarlett spoke out.
"I have to agree with Onyx on his one, would have been nice to pay our respects down there instead of up here in an old bell tower." Lightning turned his head to his right and looked at his sister Scarlett with his pure green eyes and Cyril like muzzle.
"We all do Scarlett, but I have to agree with Light. If we're down there we'd be chased all over the place until we were captured, killed, or run out of energy. And I'm pretty sure that's the last thing we need on our plate." Lightning said calmly to Scarlett, who in looked at her older brother smiled, "I know Lightning, I know." Scarlett then spoke out towards Lightning while Light and Onyx their scaled heads in her direction.
"So if Ignitus is gone now, who's going to take his place as the Guardian of Fire then, Spyro?"
"I don't think Spyro's ready for such a big job like that, Scarlett. I mean there's no record of anything of a young dragon at the age of 15 of becoming a Guardian. I mean if that did happen right now, then times truly have changed." Light said normally to Scarlett, and then Onyx added his own words to Scarlett, "Not to mention, it takes years and years of training and hard work to become a fully-fledged Guardian, Spyro would have to be 55 years old just to be nominated to be a candidate for Guardianship."
"I thought the Guardians could just pick any candidate for Guardianship?" Scarlett asked softly.
"Well, it's most true or false on how you look at it Scarlett. Most Guardians pick a candidate of their same element so one day so that the new generation takes over the old one. However, there have been times where Guardians picked candidates outside of their main element in favor other elements, just to get the job done easier and faster, but these Dragon Guardians here seem to favor the old fashioned ways. And frankly that's how it should stick." Light said to Scarlett softly.
"But they never pick younger candidates? That doesn't fair to me." Scarlett said nicely to Light.
"Fair or not Scarlett, that's how it works in the world. Experience favors over the young and foolish." Lightning said hardly to Scarlett.
"Did I ask for your opinion, smart ass?" Scarlett asked Lightning.
"No, I simply stating on what I know and see. I'm simply telling the truth Scarlett." Lightning said calmly to Scarlett, who just shook her head side to side, before looking towards her older brother, Light.
"Any way, back to the candidate thing, who else would take Ignitus's place as the Guardian of Fire then?" Scarlett asked Light softly.
"Probably Fire, I mean after all she is the eldest child of Ignitus's family so it make sense." Light said to Scarlett nicely, while he, Onyx, and Lightning looked down at the statue of Ignitus in city square.
"But she's the same goddamn age of as us." Scarlett said calmly. Light looked her way and frowned a bit.
"I know, if she does become a candidate for Guardianship. She'll become youngest Guardian of Fire out there, but I'm pretty sure she's out there to break records and such. She simply wants to do want her father did, that was to protect friends and family." Light said normally to Scarlett, while he looked down at the statue of Ignitus, while Onyx turned to look at Scarlett.
"Also not to mention, Fire was trained by her father a fully-fledged Guardian of Fire and her mother too who was also a master of the Fire element. Fire may have not had the hardest and most difficult training out there like we did back then, but she's definitely earned her gold bars. Don't you think, Scarlett?" Onyx said to normally to Scarlett, who just nodded in agreement while Onyx looked back down.
"I know that, but still I mean is Fire really ready for something like that. I mean to take that next step in life and direction, I mean is she really ready for something like that to happen?" Scarlett asked Light seriously. Light looked right at his little sister with his purple eye half closed before looking down at the statue of Ignitus in Warfang's city square.
"Even though her father had just recently died and all, I know damn well that she's ready to take that next step in life and direction, because after all like father like daughter." Light said seriously to Scarlett, Onyx, and Lightning who all just smiled at his words of wisdom and seriousness. As they continued to watch and hear about Ignitus's life stories and such, they all knew that Fire the dragoness will make one hell of a guardian one day, as the Guardian of Fire.
