A/N: Happy Easter Everybunny! This story is set two years after Sonny and Lisa's wedding!
"Look what the cat dragged in." Sonny chuckles as he opens the front door to let Mandy and Jason in.
"It's good to see you too Sonny." Mandy smirks as Cerberus runs past her to find his friends, Millie and Tex.
"Y'all need me to take any of this?" Sonny asks taking note of all of the food the two were carrying.
"No, we got it." Mandy says walking towards the kitchen. "When Sonny manages to make you entire house smell like barbecue."
"Don't I know it." Lisa laughs from her place on the sofa. "Got a little bored, did we?"
"Who would have thought, Mandy Ellis likes to bake." She chuckles. "The things I learn in retirement."
"You don't hear me complaining." Lisa walks into the kitchen. "I reap the benefits."
"You and Jason both." Mandy looks around. "This place looks great, so festive. And where those six packs all decked up as Easter baskets I saw by the front door?"
"Thanks, they are." Lisa smiles as she pours her and Mandy a glass of wine.
"Rosé?" Mandy takes the glass from her.
"It's Easter after all." Lisa says before taking a sip of the wine. "Why can't we drink pink wine?"
"Cheers to that." Mandy says before she drinks. "Oh, that's good."
"I would never lead you down the wrong path." Lisa chuckles. "Can you and Jace help me finish putting the eggs together?"
"Are we really doing an Easter Egg hunt?" Jason asks.
"Why don't you look at what's in the eggs before you pass judgement." Lisa tells him.
"Shooters, candy and a, uh fake candle?" Jason notes. "I take back what I said."
"The candle to light it up since we are doing this after dark." Lisa says as she continues to assemble the adult Easter eggs. "I expect enthusiast participation from all."
"These guys and a competition?" Jason chuckles. "No problem."
"That's what I like to hear." Lisa smiles. "That looks like all of them."
"Perfect." Mandy smiles. "Are we hiding them?"
"I'm good with that, if you are." Lisa nods.
"Yep, where are you thinking?" Mandy asks.
Lisa stands up. "Anywhere around the downstairs and the yards."
"Works for me." Mandy stands up too and looks at Jason. "No peeking."
"Yes Ma'am." Jason chuckles. "I'll just go stare at the grill with Sonny."
"Ya get shunned?" Sonny laughs watching Jason nod.
"Is that a new smoker?" Jason asks looking at the addition to the outdoor kitchen.
"Hell, yeah it is." Sonny turns to look at the smoker. "That little baby is top of the line right there, ya can't get much better."
"Nice." Jason takes a swig of his beer. "What are you smoking for us today?"
"A big 'ol brisket." Sonny says proudly. "It should be damn good."
"Oh shit. Sonny Quinn is stepping his meat game up." Jason laughs.
"What's the point of bein married to an officer if I don't reap the benefits of it?" Sonny points the neck of his beer bottle at Jason. "I mean hell, I catch enough shit for it."
"The guys over at Green Team give you a hard time, what? No." Jason smirks.
"Eh, not like I don't give it right back to them." Sonny takes a drink of his beer. "What's a real good time is confusin all the Green Teamers, we say just enough in front of them to keep 'em guessin."
"That's gotta be good." Jason leans against the counter. "Do you ever stop and think about just how lucky the two of you are?"
"Hell yeah I do." Sonny nods. "We could have, hell should have blowen up our careers, but here we are in fairly prominent roles within Development and doin great both personally and professionally."
"You always did have some magical luck on your side keeping your ass safe in the Navy." Jason shakes his head.
"I'm the chosen one." Sonny laughs knowing how ridiculous he sounds.
"Only you." Jason laughs. "Looks like they are done."
"Nothin like a bunch of grown ass men racin around lookin for some damn Easter eggs." Sonny shakes his head.
"It's gonna be funny, that's for sure. How did Lisa come up with this anyways?"
"Ah." Sonny starts walking towards the door. "Like most fine ideas we had had a few drinks that night and she was scrollin online and found them. And uh, in a drunken moment she ordered all the stuff."
"Fair enough." Jason follows Sonny back into the house. "Well, well, well, look who decided to show up after not calling me back for two days."
Emma and Clay both turn and look at Jason. "I've been busy, Dad."
"Too busy for your father." Jason wipes a fake tear from his cheek. "That one hurts Emma."
"Listen, getting this show together is way more work than I ever thought it would be." Emma leans against the counter and takes a sip of her wine.
"Have I told you how proud of you I am lately, miss owner and director of the Alana Hayes Memorial Preforming Arts Studio."
"Thank you, Dad." Emma smiles.
"Still can't believe you have your own studio." Sonny tells her from across the kitchen.
"Right." Ray chuckles. "Or that we were all forced to help her build it."
"In exchange for all of the free beer you guys wanted during the build out. Not to mention the friends and family rate for your kids." Emma defends. "And free tickets to opening night of our first ever performance special."
"That sounds like a damn good deal to me." Sonny tells her.
"Thank you, Sonny." Emma grins. It may be a crazy and unconventional family, but it was her family.
"I can't wait to see it." Naima adds. "Jameelah is so excited. We can't thank you enough for helping to bring out her creative side."
"Aw she's doing great." Emma smiles.
"Look who decided to show up." Rays says looking Trent up and down.
"They said 7:30ish, I would consider this the ish." Trent shoots back. "Also, is there really an Easter Egg hunt?"
"There is." Mandy tells him. "All of the eggs have been hidden and are waiting for you jokers to find them."
"Jokers?" Metal rounders the corner. "I know she's not calling us jokers."
"She's the retired spook." Trent comments.
Mandy's only response is to flip off the guys. "Haven't you guys leaned to not mess with retired Secret Agent Ellis?" Jason chuckles.
"This isn't awkward or anything." Brock says walking into the kitchen. "When's dinner?"
"Damn. Walk up in my house demandin shit." Sonny shakes his head. "The brisket needs bout another hour in the smoker, how bout we all take a few shots and get this Easter egg hunt under way?"
"We're really doing this?" Metal asks.
"Yes you are." Lisa tells him sternly. "You'll like the eggs, I promise."
"I better." Metal mumbles.
After three rounds of shots. "Hey y'all, listen the hell up." Sonny yells.
"Hey, that's my line." Blackburn laughs.
"Play nice boys." Lisa tells them. "Okay, the eggs are hidden inside on the first floor and in the front and back yards. They are all lit, you're welcome."
"So, no NVG's needed?" Trent chuckles at his own joke.
"Correct, you little smart ass." Lisa rolls her eyes. "Hope you guys don't mind using garbage bags to collect your eggs."
Clay grabs a bag. "Hope all of you loser are ready to take your place behind me."
"Full of shit." Jason counters.
"Ready, set, go." Lisa yells as the guys take off running in all directions.
"Outta my damn way Blondie." Sonny yells as he elbows Clay out of his way.
"Oh, we're playing like that, are we?" Clay laughs. "Brock you better not be using that damn dog as an advantage."
"Unless Davis put C4 in these things." Brock calls as he climbs over a line of shrubs.
"That's cheating Jace." Ray calls.
"Davis didn't give us any rules, how is it cheating?" Jason asks as he runs around the side of the house. "Don't he a sore loser, Raymond."
"Who the hell said I was losing?" Ray calls, dropping to the ground to get the low vantage point.
Lisa, Mandy, Naima and Emma slowly walk around watching the guys nearly beat each other up to find the eggs. "This is better than I thought it would be."
"They are insane." Emma laughs. "Though I shouldn't be surprised."
"Did Metal really just dive across your car to beat Trent to that one." Naima shakes her head.
"Why did we not do this earlier?" Mandy says through her laughter. "This is one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time."
"Agreed." Lisa nods. "My neighbors are going to think we are even crazier than they already do."
"I think we gottem all, babe." Sonny tells Lisa as he walks up to Lisa.
"And only minor injuries." Clay jokes.
"Should we head back inside and count everything up?" Lisa asks.
"How in the actual hell did Brock win?" Jason asks when they are done counting.
"I'm faster than you think, old man." Brock laughs.
"Well, congrats." Sonny hands him a bottle of Makers. "You're prize."
"More free alcohol, sweet." Brock takes the bottle. "I'm going to be an alcoholic diabetic by the time I finish all of this."
"Nah, well sweat it out, never fear." Clay pats him on the shoulder.
"Meat's ready." Sonny yells as he makes his way into the kitchen carrying the brisket.
"That smells like heaven on earth." Trent tells him.
"Mmhm." Sonny nods. "Been in the smoker for eighteen hours."
"Oh shit, we're eating good tonight." Metal claps his hands together.
After everyone is seated at the table set up on the patio, Jason raises his glass. "First off, thank you to Sonny and Davis for hosting one of the most fun Easter dinners I have ever been to. Second, it's rare that we all get to get together anymore, it's good to see all of you happy and healthy."
