Phone Call
M: Hey, baby, are you okay? Do you need anything?
N: Yeah I'm okay. I took a nap and I'm feeling better. Just wanted to hear your voice. Why aren't you home yet?
M: I'm finishing up some reports. I should be home by an hour - an hour and a half. I miss you too. (He had caught on to what she didn't say. Whenever she wasn't feeling well all she wanted to do was be in Michael's arms. That was possible most of the time, but since they started working with Ryan on cleaning up Division only one at a time could afford the luxury of going home because they were sick. Michael didn't enjoy this particularly either. He wanted to go home and take care of his girl)
M: So, what do you want for dinner? Soup would be the best or I could go pick up a roast from that place by the park.
N: Roast sounds great. Thank you.
M: Okay, hun, I'll go now so I can hurry and come home. I love you.
N: I love you and you better hurry up! Bye.

Nikita didn't know what it was but she was feeling anxious. Physically she was feeling better after having some rest, but her mind kept racing and her heart kept pounding harder and harder. All she wanted right now was Michael's strong caring arms around her.
Michael did not disappoint. He finished at Division as quickly as possible and went to grab their dinner. He stopped by the grocery store to pick up some things for Nikita that will hopefully help her feel better including a gorgeous bouquet of her favourite flowers.
Nikita was on the balcony wrapped up in a blanket sitting and enjoying the view. She didn't hear him coming home, but as he got closer she felt his presence.
"Are you just going to creep around like that or come and give me a kiss already?" Nikita spoke without turning around to look at him.
He chuckled at the fact that he could hardly ever surprise her. He wrapped his arms around her from behind and trailed kisses on her neck up to her lips. "Hello, beautiful" Michael murmured between kisses.
"How are you feeling?"
" Better now that you're home."
"Hmm is that so? Well, I've also got dinner and......."
He handed her the gorgeous bouquet of white roses (her favourite).
"Michael.." Nikita whispered turning around in his arms to face him. Looking into his eyes and being greeted by that gorgeous smile of his (the one he only reserved for her) definitely made her feel a lot better. He always went out of his way to make her feel special and loved on any given occasion. It always made Nikita's heart nearly burst. She wasn't used to being cared for in this way and somehow he managed to compensate for all of that and make her feel like she was the centre of his universe.
''Thank you so much you, baby.'' wrapping her arms around his neck Nikita breathed over his lips before capturing them for a long kiss.
"Hmm, I'm glad that I could make you feel better after a bad day. Now you stay here and relax. I'll set the table and call you over for dinner. How does that sound?"
"No...I don't feel like staying alone out here when you are home. I'm coming in with you and I'm feeling good enough to help with dinner"
Michael smiled and an idea came to his mind. He knew Nikita wasn't feeling that well still but she just simply wanted to be around him so he picked her up. Her legs wrapped around his waist immediately by their own accord.
"Michael, what are you doing?" Nikita giggled while wiggling in his embrace.
"Well I'm not letting you do anything when you are unwell but you will be getting a front-row seat to your chef setting up our dinner tonight" Michael admitted when settling her down on the kitchen counter.
"Oh, so you are my chef now?" Nikita laughed while pulling him in and wrapping her arms and legs around him trapping him and stealing a kiss, and another one and maybe another one.
"You need to eat, my love" Michael managed to pull away enough to lock his eyes with hers and laugh.
''Mmm no… I think I'm just fine with you right now" Nikita didn't let him move far. She wasn't that hungry, to be honest. She did enjoy playing with him like that though. She knew he had that soft spot for her that was especially coming out when he was taking care of her. He was incapable of saying "no" to her no matter what it was.
"Oh, okay so I guess since we are not having dinner we are also not having dessert. That would be a waste of some freshly baked lava cake but you know it's whatever my love wants" He knew exactly what she was doing and if she was feeling well he definitely would have skipped dinner and taken her right then and there. She was impossible when she was sick often powering through and not letting on when it was becoming even worse. It had gotten better at least for Michael. She did have her guard down around him and since becoming engaged she did make an effort to let him in more.
Nikita let a small gasp "You're mean"
"Can you let me treat you like a queen at least when you're sick?" He giggled while running his fingers through her hair and down to her back.
Nikita hummed melting into his embrace and whispered "you always treat me like a queen"
Michael just had to kiss her then. Although they were being playful, those words meant a lot. He had promised her months ago that he will teach her how to love herself. One of the things he was actively doing towards that was constantly showing her kindness, love and care - things she wasn't used to. Not that it wasn't the case before but they often put missions and Division before their relationship and feelings and he had worked on that to change. A couple of months ago she hadn't even known what a real home was and it took her a while to even associate the word "home" with their place now. He had changed that as well.
"Well, my queen, dinner time" Michael finally managed to pull away after a last short kiss.
He wasn't even cooking their dinner but only plating it. Still, Nikita just sat on the counter and marvelled at her man until he was done.
He set the table all nice, lit some candles, even put her roses in a vase for her.
They enjoyed dinner and dessert of course. After all, it's what sold the deal.
She asked him about his day not even caring that much about the Division business that she had missed. She just enjoyed the rumble of his voice and the sight of him explaining something like they were on an opp. It made her laugh internally.
At that point without realising she was just staring at him grinning like an idiot.
Michael noticed that and stopped talking, he raised his eyebrow and smiled at her "What?"
"I love you" she just couldn't help but chuckle.
Michal pulled her chair in next to him and wrapped his arms around her. Green eyes locked with brown and the world simply just stopped for a second.
"I love you so very much" Michael breathed over her lips before capturing them.
They stayed like that in each other's embrace for a while. Soon Michael could see that Nikita was starting to get tired so he proceeded with the second phase of his plan to make her feel better. He quickly tidied up from their dinner and led her to their bathroom.
They finished off their evening with a nice relaxing bath. Nikita particularly loved that part of their night. He really knew how to treat her like a queen.
