Continuation of the previous chapter

Fortunately, Michael had gotten home before her and she could have him alone. Ever since leaving Division, she couldn't stop smiling. Things between them were going more than great. They were so in love and now the couple had the freedom to do normal things together. Michael took her on dates, surprised her at any given occasion. They got their first proper place together which gave them a lot more privacy. They couldn't get their hands off each other. The feeling of leaving Division after a long day to the place that you and your love have made a home was unparalleled.

"Hey, I thought you were gonna call. I was going to pick you up" As soon as he heard the door he was by her side in seconds.

"Alex dropped me off." Nikita explained and eagerly went into his arms. Michael happily hummed and pulled her tighter, smothering her with his love. He had missed his girl the whole day. They were spending so much time together lately that it was becoming hard to be apart for long periods. Neither of them thought about themselves as the clingy type. Love really does things to people they guessed.

"Okay, Michael, I can barely breathe right now" Nikita giggled and gasped as he loosened his hold and pulled away to only steal a kiss from her. After their cute little moment, Michael noticed the big bag she had with her.

"Let me guess the latest Nalex shopping spree?" This was the first time he had used Birkoff's nickname for Alex and Nikita's numerous trips to the mall. And Michael was sure he would never use it again judging by Nikita's face but he wanted to tease her a little bit.

"Really, Nalex shopping spree? Okay, I think it's definitely time we switch duties. You have been spending way too much time with Nerd and I too little it seems" Michael laughed and couldn't help but steal another kiss before he actually pulled away.

"So what's in the bag?" He asked as he took her coat off and led her to the kitchen.

Nikita started pulling boxes out of the bag purposely leaving the metal one. She assumed he would definitely recognise it.

"I got this from Division" Nikita revealed and instantly Michael groaned.

"We said no work at home. I don't care how important it is or what Ryan says we-" she just couldn't help but burst laughing at seeing him get so worked up. She loved how overprotective of their space he was. It was sweet. Once they moved in and settled they promised each other that work stuff would stay at work. At home, their relationship was the priority. In reality, they knew that the both of them always put the other first even in the field. That was for an entirely different reason though.

"Hun, relax. These aren't files. In fact, this is your stuff'' Nikita managed to calm down and say. Michael moved to see what's in the boxes confused. Once he opened the first one it all came to him.

"You busted my locker today, huh? Michael couldn't help but smirk. He had spotted that mischievous look on her face last week when he mentioned it to her. He just didn't expect her to act on it so soon. He had even forgotten about it.

"Are you surprised? Come on, how could I just leave it there?" Nikita returned his smirk. She was excited for him to see some of the stuff (one thing in particular).

As soon as he saw the books he did a double-take on her and back on the books.

"You have got to be kidding me? Nikita Mears ("hopefully future Mrs Bishop very soon." he said in his mind and it even brought a bigger smile on his face), the hater of classics, not throwing these away but bringing them home."

"Okay, okay I thought I'd be nice to you for a little bit but maybe not" she blushed slightly.

"Or" Michael wrapped his arms around her from behind and pulled her in "You kinda miss me reading them to you every night" he husked into her ear. Before she could reply he quickly started placing kisses on her neck, temple till he got to her lips.

"Oh, we are definitely reading from some of these tonight. I even remember where we got up to." She was glad to see him this excited about this. Those moments were special to her and apparently, that was the case for him as well if not even more.

After he calmed down from his excitement a little bit he moved to the second box. There he found his old favorite weapons. He preferred to have his own stash in Division than having to constantly check if everything was alright with the weapons. Some agents really didn't know how to take care of the equipment.

"We can return these actually. I've upgraded our arsenal a couple of times since I've used them" He explained as he examined the contents of the box. He spotted a smaller version of the knife he used to have. The one he gave Nikita. She kept using it so he thought she might like this one as well. "You might like this" he passed it to her.

She bit her lip "You know, I think you get some weird thrill out of me using your knifes"

"You love it" he murmured while still looking down through the box trying to hide his grin.

"Mhmm" she hummed "Now before we continue do you have a guess at what else was in the locker?" The excitement in her voice could hardly be hidden. It might have seemed weird to Alex for him to have kept the target but she just didn't know their relationship beforehand. They had this strange pull to one another. They could joke and tease and also be serious on missions. They were a force to be reckoned with in the field. They could also enjoy sitting in silence and understanding each other without words. Nikita was one of the only people who could bring a smile out of Michael and show his less serious side. He tried to hide it as hard as he could but most people knew he had a favorite.

"There should be another box. Like a smaller metal one. I'm pretty sure I left it there" As he was talking Nikita pulled it out and slid it across the counter to him.

"Something interesting in here?" Michael genuinely didn't remember what exactly was in there. He used to put things that didn't have a place in the other boxes or random stuff he wanted to keep.

He opened it. Beforehand Nikita had rearranged the box so the shooting target was right on top of everything. Michael stared, contemplating on what to say. He got busted. He was glad he had kept it because it was a memory of a moment between them. Also, it was better for her to find it after they were in a relationship rather than back when she was an agent. It definitely saved him some explaining.

Nikita walked around the counter and jumped on it to be right beside him. He lifted his eyes to meet hers and grinned. There was that sparkle in them along with her gorgeous smile. He stepped in between her legs wrapping his arms around her and kissed her hard.

"Okay, you got me. I kept the target. You know I'm actually glad you found it cause now I know it's not lost. It's right where it's supposed to be." at that Nikita pulled him in for a hungry kiss.

"So you admit you were kinda proud when I beat your record." She breathed over his lips and smirked. Michael chucked "I was always proud of you. Even in moments when I definitely shouldn't have been."

"Do tell." Nikita was intrigued. One thing Michael was on her ass about constantly as a recruit was her attitude. She got into a lot of trouble because of it. So what other things could he have been proud of except great performance in missions. That's mainly what she was praised for.

"Come on" Nikita pecked his lips a few times to get him to tell her. She saw he was kind of hesitating behind that smile.

"Okay, you are no longer a recruit or an agent so I can tell you this plus he is dead so" Nikita didn't know what she was expecting but it was definitely not that. She had no idea where this was going.

"Remember the instructor you kicked in the balls." Nikita gasped amused.

"Don't tell me you were actually proud about that. " she giggled. She knew she always managed to get a reaction out of him, but she actually thought back then that he wasn't happy with that incident.

"Honestly if you hadn't done it in the middle of the day in front of the other recruits I wouldn't have brought you to Amanda" Michael admitted and laughed burying his face in her neck and hugging her

"Wait, why?" Nikita hugged him back but pulled at the hair at the nape of his neck so she could see his face.

"Well, he was a total asshole. Nobody liked him. He was great as an instructor though and the recruits were showing great results so Percy kept him. And you did me a great favor that day" Michael grinned. He actually wondered why he hadn't shared that with her. He thought she had figured he wasn't actually mad at her that day.

"Wait a second" She couldn't believe it. How did she not figure it out. Of course, it was him. He wasn't happy with her so it didn't even cross her mind that he could have been the one… "Did you- you were the one that left those CDs in my room that day"

"Yeah" he gave her the biggest smile "I honestly thought you knew. Who else did you think they were from?"

"I thought it was like a birthday thing. Amanda even pulled a cake out so I figured it was for that" Nikita shared. She didn't think much of it at the time. Whenever a recruit would perform well they received a prize. Birthdays weren't a thing in the bunker. Amanda used them to get through to kids in her sessions. Other than that nobody else knew except maybe the handlers which of course Michael knew when her birthday was.

"Well, I was planning on giving you a few for your birthday anyway, but after you kicked the jackass I added some CDs out of my collection as well. He had pissed me off that day. I didn't even want to supervise his training session cause even I was close to hitting him. But luckily someone had my back"

"Without even knowing it. See I'm that good" Nikita gloated and jocked.

Michale leaned in, even more, brushed their lips together and murmured "Yeah"

"I actually felt bad for having to bring you to Amanda so I left the CDs in your room for when you got back."

"You have been full of surprises lately. Got another one?" She nudged him. She honestly loved finding out about these things. It showed how deep their love ran. They always looked out for each other no matter what. She laughed at how wrapped up they were around their love like teenagers. She loved it though. And absolutely loved him.

Michael pulled her as close as possible and kissed her passionately slowly biting her lower lip. "I can think of a few more things" he husked in her ear. A quiet moan escaped Nikita's throat. He moved down her neck, trailing kisses and finding that sweet spot. He sucked on her pulse point while running his hands slowly down her back circling her hips moving them against his. He was obsessed with the little sounds she made.

"Michael" as soon as she moaned his name he was done. He quickly picked her up and carried her to their bedroom where he could properly worship his girl and bring her to absolute bliss.

She was his world and reason to keep going and he would never deny his love for her even from years ago. They were each other's forever and he was even more determined and excited now to officially declare that to her very soon.

It was too cute of a moment not to write. The mention of the incident with the instructor and Nikita's birthday in Division is from a flashback in 2x18 . It popped into my mind while writing it and I love how it turned out. Let me know what you think. Your reviews and suggestions are greatly appreciated xx
