Continuation of the last chapter: The boys have too much fun on their night out
Alex and Sonya left around midnight. The girls had a really fun night and even made plans to hang out the next day. Michael was still not back home. He had texted Nikita that he would be late. After the game, the boys had decided to go to a bar and continue the fun. That was a few hours ago though. Nikita texted him to check in before she went to bed.
N: Everything okay? The girls just left. Want me to wait for you?
M: No, go to bed. We are fine. Good night, I love you xx
N: I love you and be safe.
M: Always, now GO TO SLEEP!
She chuckled. Nikita was hoping he would be on his way back home. She didn't feel at ease going to sleep when he wasn't near. Michael knew that so he insisted that everything was okay and that she should go to bed. She tried to shake off her worries. The boys were spending time together which was so rare for them. Nikita was happy that after everything they went through the team was able to have some peace. She shouldn't be worrying so much about everything. She made herself some tea to help her relax and went to sleep shortly after.
Alex was woken up at 3 am by a call from a very drunk Sean. She barely registered what he was saying. From what she could hear around him the other boys were with him too. She figured they were still at the bar. She asked Sean to put her on speaker hoping she could get more information out of Michael or Ryan. Sean was beyond wasted. Birkhoff was for sure with him on that. Michael and Ryan were usually the more sensible ones.
Unfortunately, Alex had no luck with them either. They were just as drunk. She at least found out the name of the bar. She decided to go and pick them up because there was no way they would be able to get themselves home on their own.
When she entered the bar she instantly spotted them. They were the loudest table out of all. She approached them and they all greeted her excitedly. Alex persuaded them to go home. She asked for the bill and gasped at how much food and alcohol they had consumed. She shook her head and paid.
Getting them all in the car was tricky. Ryan was really quiet and not very responsive. He was the easiest out of them all. Birkhoff was half asleep and barely walked to the car without stumbling on his own feet. Michael and Sean were the worst. They kept rambling with each other about something. Alex couldn't understand anything. They could barely form a logical sentence. She couldn't even tell if they were arguing or just being really fired up about something.
Alex dropped off Ryan and Birkhoff first. She walked both of them to their apartments making sure they really got home. She had to lock the other boys in the car while doing that. She didn't want them wandering around unsupervised.
"Alex?" Nikita opened her eyes to see who was calling her in the middle of the night. "Can you come down? I'm at the front entrance. I am dropping Michael off but there is no way he will be able to get home without some help." Alex explained. Nikita sat up and just then realized Michael was still not home.
"How drunk are they?" She quickly got an idea of what might have happened and got out of bed. "They are off to Lala land for sure" Alex was really done with the boys at that point. At least Sean and Michael had calmed down after Alex separated them. She put Sean in the front and Michael in the back. It seemed to work.
"Great. When will they learn how to drink and not get absolutely wasted? '' Nikita huffed. She was probably overreacting. It didn't happen that often but they had went out this time. What would have happened if Alex didn't pick them up? It didn't matter that they were boys. They could still get themselves in dangerous situations.
"Well, they will learn one hell of a lesson tomorrow when they wake up, that's for sure." The hangover was bound to be terrible and since it was already 4:30 in the morning it was going to take them the whole day to recover.
Nikita quickly threw something on and went to get Michael. "HEEYY!" Michael was very excited to see her. "Hi, baby. I see you had fun" She opened the back door and helped him get out of the car.
"Nope" he shook his head like a little child and declared. "Why not?" She asked as she held him up to steady him and waved goodbye to Alex.
"Because you didn't come" He whined and took a hold of her hand.
"It was a boys' night and we were together a couple of hours ago" She chuckled. If Michael was loving to her when sober she didn't know how to describe him when he was drunk. It was so adorable and funny. "Mmmm no, that's too long" Michael continued expressing how much he disliked being away from her.
"Okay, well, I missed you too." She thought that would be the end of that but she was very wrong. "Did you?" He abruptly stopped in the hallway on the way to their apartment and pulled her in his arms for a hug. Nikita really had to be careful with her words when he was like that. For some reason even though he easily showed his love for her, whenever she did it he was very surprised. Like he didn't believe that she could actually love him. Which was usually the opposite when he was sober. "Of course." she laughed "Now let's get home so I can hear all about everything you did without me" Nikita figured giving him something to be excited about would help.
Luckily Michael complied easily and started walking again. They entered their home finally. She pulled him toward their bedroom but he stopped again and refused to continue "Noo, I don't want to go to bed. We should do something fun together. We were apart for so long"
"Okay, we don't have to go to sleep but only if you listen to me and let me take care of you. Then we can hang out" She was absolutely going to make him go to sleep but disagreeing would have made it so much worse. That happened once and Michael thought she was breaking up with him and almost had a meltdown. "I promise I will listen" He nodded happily, promising her.
"Good. Do you feel sick or dizzy?" Nikita asked, concerned. He didn't look like he felt sick but she had to find out for herself. Alex had told her over the phone how much alcohol they had ordered. It wasn't clear who had what amount but they were all pretty wasted. "No, I always feel amazing when I'm with you" He wrapped his arms around her and caressed her cheek. Nikita giggled and shook her head. "I appreciate that, love, but I am serious. Do you feel okay?"
"Yeah because we are finally together" Michael was looking into her eyes intensely as if he was confessing his love for her for the first time.
She chuckled "Okay I'll just take that as a yes. Come on now" She took a hold of his hand and led him to their room. Her goal was the shower. It was hopefully going to help him sober up.
She got him into the bathroom and started the shower expecting him to get undressed. However, he was just standing there with a frightened look. She thought something was wrong "Are you okay?" She quickly rushed towards him. "I can't be naked in front of you" He refused to look at her and found the floor a lot more interesting.
"What do you mean?" Nikita was seriously concerned about his state now "I have seen you naked before. Where is this shyness coming from now?"
"Well, I don't look good right now. I'm sweaty and gross and…" Michael whined and started stating all the different reasons for not wanting to be naked in front of her right now. "Shh hey hey" She pecked his lips to shut him up. He chased after her but she pulled away and giggled "You are the sexiest man I know so stop with this nonsense and get your cute butt in the shower" She tried to stick to simple affections like hugs and holding hands. Kissing him when he was drunk didn't sit right with her but it was the only thing that calmed him down so she gave him quick kisses when she had to.
"But.." Michael was ready to protest. "I'm not leaving you. What if you get dizzy or slip? You promised to let me take care of you, remember. I can turn around if you want to but I'm not leaving" Nikita couldn't leave him alone like that. She also knew that after 10 seconds of her leaving the room he would call for her to come back.
"Okay…" Michael suddenly changed moods and there was no trace of the shyness before. "Are you getting in with me?" He got really happy about that possibility. "No, sorry I had a shower already. But I'll be right here by the glass door" Nikita assured him. He got really sad but didn't say anything more and started getting undressed.
He got into the shower finally. To her he seemed pretty good, he was just totally out of it. Nikita got him a towel and clothes after. However, he stayed only in his boxers. It was chilly in their room so she tried to persuade him to at least put a shirt on but he didn't want to so she just put the fireplace on and tucked him into bed. She filled a big bottle of water and got him to drink some to keep him hydrated. Luckily, he was pretty chill after his shower and he did everything that she asked him to.
After taking care of him she went to change out of her clothes. She had gotten dressed when Alex called and was changing back into her nightgown that was thrown on the bed. Changing in front of Michael would have been completely fine in other times, but maybe not right now. He was always very clingy and extra loving when drunk but now that was taken to a whole other level.
"Wow!" his eyes sparkled at her. "What?" she giggled "Don't tell me you have forgotten that you have seen me naked as well?" She actually loved those reactions out of him. "I would never forget anything about you!" he got serious again and was quick to state. Nikita laughed. Michael, when drunk, couldn't register jokes regarding anything between them. He always had to set the record straight.
"I know, I know. I'm just messing with you" She got dressed and laid down propped up on the pillows next to him. He instantly snuggled into her and buried his face in her neck. Nikita thought he was falling asleep but he lifted his head and just gazed at her. Nikita laughed at his adorableness. He continued dreamily looking at her and eventually blurted out "You are mine" as if he just realized it.
"Yes, my love, I am yours and you are mine. We have known that for a while" And there it was again. "No, but like you are mine. I have you forever. What the hell did I do to deserve you?" He really acted as if it just hit him.
"Honey, stop…you are going to make me cry. " Even though he was drunk she knew all of those things were coming from his heart. Sometimes late at night he would get like that without the alcohol and make sure she knew how much she meant to him. "Nooo, don't cry. Do I make you sad?" Michael got very concerned and upset. He never wanted to make her cry.
"No, no that's not what I meant. You are being very sweet to me that's all and it's making me emotional sometimes" She really had to remember to clarify everything for him. "But I should make you smile not cry. I will make you smile" he leapt out of bed and started pacing the room.
"Since you missed the game I will show it to you. It was really fun and they had a mascot that was so funny" He grabbed the remote and tried to pull it up on the TV. It was a big game so it was streamed. However, he couldn't seem to find it. "Why is it not on here?" Michael got very disappointed.
"Why don't we leave that.." she grabbed the remote, turned off the TV and nudged him to go lay down with her again "..and you can tell me about the game. I would like that better."
"You got it!" he got out of bed again and ran to the hallway. "Oh, god…" she groaned exhaustingly. Before she got the chance to get out of bed and bring him back to their room Michael returned with a baseball bat in his hands. "What is that for?" she asked, looking him up and down.
"I don't have a hockey stick but this will do just fine, I promise" Michael excitedly explained. A big wave of energy had seemed to wash over him. "But why do you need it?" Nikita couldn't understand what the baseball bat had to do with him telling her about the game. "To tell you about the match" Michael didn't help her at all. She decided to just let him be. She wouldn't be able to convince him to come back to bed anyway. "What in the- you know what okay, okay"
Michael started pacing around the room reenacting the whole game while swinging the bat and using it like a hockey stick. He took on the voice of the commentator while performing each goal at the same time. Nikita was shocked at first. She had never seen Michael act like that or in fact any other person. He went from barely walking steadily to jumping around like a little kid. It was beyond her from where he got all that energy from all of a sudden.
By the end of his performance, she was barely getting out a steady breath from all the laughing. "Did you like it?" Michael was very pleased with himself. "Yes, baby, that was amazing! Now come back to me, please" She reached out her hand and he instantly dropped the bat and bounced on the bed. He snuggled back into her arms and Nikita had a better success at keeping him still now. He really tired himself out. She ran her hand through his hair and whispered to him softly. Michael continued with his rant of how amazing she was and how much he loved her. "You are my favourite person in the whole entire world"
"Yeah?" She couldn't help the huge smile that graced her face. "Yes! And I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you" Michael declared very seriously and lovingly.
"That's an interesting one." Nikita was failing to follow his line of thought. It was an odd thing to say. "Why? You don't want to?" Michael got really worried and she swore if her answer wasn't good he would start crying.
"Of course, I want to! I love you so much. But we are spending the rest of our lives together already. We are together now and the plan is to be together always and forever so…we are spending our lives together" That was at least how Nikita understood his words. She figured he maybe wanted to say something else but it came out different.
Michael got really confused by her sentence and she could tell. She decided to just settle the matter down "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you too" That got the smile back on his face and he snuggled in her neck again and this time he actually fell asleep.
Michael woke up very disoriented. It took him a while to realize where he was and even more to remember how he got home. His throbbing head didn't help at all. He was sprawled out on the mattress staring at the ceiling. Eventually, moments of his night out started resurfacing.
He had clear memories of the game and some from the bar. He remembered Alex showing up at some point and driving them somewhere. Michael figured she was the one that got them home. As he was thinking about Alex, Sean popped up in his mind. He remembered talking to him about something the whole night and they ended up having an argument over it.
It hit him then. He had told Sean about his plans to propose to Nikita. Michael groaned and buried his face in his hands. That was not supposed to happen. He had been thinking about proposing for quite a while but he was just now getting around to actually planning it. He didn't want to tell anyone about it yet. That was what he and Sean argued about. The Seal got really excited and wanted to tell Alex so that she could help him plan it.
Luckily Sean eventually dropped it and just let Michael know that he'll be there to support him with whatever he needed. He remembered Sean promising not to tell Alex. Michael was hoping that was real and not his imagination. He wouldn't want Nikita to suspect anything.
"Oh, god Nikita" he whispered and quickly sat up. That was probably not the best for his headache but he ignored his discomfort. Sheer panic came over him. If he had told Sean could he have told Nikita or at least hinted in some way about what he was planning? Michael rapidly tried to remember if he had talked to her. Then the second part of the night started flooding his memory. Not only had he talked to her but she was the one to get him home after Alex dropped him off. He couldn't remember what he had told her. It was all a big blur.
He didn't have much time to think about it. Someone entered the room and got him out of his thoughts. "Hey, did I wake you up?" Nikita came by his side when she saw he was awake. She was just about to head out but she had forgotten her wallet in the bedroom. "No, no I was awake" Michael got close to her and tried to tell by the way she was talking and looking at him if he had told her something he shouldn't have.
"How are you feeling?" Nikita didn't notice his odd glances at her. She was more concerned with his well being. "My head is going to explode" he chuckled tiredly. "At least that might be the only thing you'll have to deal with. I had never seen you so drunk. I fully expected you to be sick at any point" Nikita rubbed his scalp gently to comfort him.
"I'm sorry you had to deal with that. '' He hoped he hadn't kept her up for long and disturbed her sleep too much. "It's okay. I love drunk Michael. We had a good time" Nikita joked and caressed his cheek. She would never have a problem with taking care of him and he made her laugh a lot so why would she complain.
"What was it this time?" Michael knew how he was when he was drunk and especially how he was around her when drunk. She constantly teased him for his comments and praises. They were all true, of course, but they were a bit too cheesy at times for his liking. He also wanted to tell her all of these things when he was sober.
"You started with the usual but I did get some lovely new additions to my list" Nikita smiled brightly. Michael stole a kiss from her to distract her from his rising panic. He wanted to be sure if he had slipped up or not. "Do tell" He encouraged her to share.
Nikita recalled them easily for him. While listening Michael's anxiety started to die down. He hadn't heard anything worth worrying about so far. That got him thinking, though, if Nikita would actually tell him if he did share about proposing. Well, that was until she told him what he had said before he went to sleep. He tried not to show any reaction on the outside as best as he could.
Thankfully Nikita thought it was just a cute thing he said and didn't think deeper about it. Michael couldn't believe himself. He was going to put a ban on drinking and getting drunk before he proposed because that was a close one.
"Are you going out somewhere? Wait, what time is it?" Michael realized just then that she was dressed up. The curtains were closed in their room but he could tell that it was very bright outside. "Yes, I'm going out with the girls. It's 1:30. You fell asleep at around 6 am." Nikita had gotten a few more hours of sleep before getting up. She thought he would sleep for even longer so she left him a note on the kitchen counter.
"Oh, god. I should get up if I want to sleep tonight." He rubbed his eyes and yawned. He could honestly go back to bed but that wouldn't do him any good. He had to get moving. "I made lunch or I guess breakfast for you. It's in the fridge. I can make you coffee really quick before I go" Nikita was supposed to be already in her car but she couldn't help herself,
"No, you don't have to. I don't want you to be late. Thank you for the food though and have fun" She had done enough for him already. He could manage to get up and make coffee. They kissed goodbye and she was out the door. He stayed in bed for a bit trying to get himself together. There was no room for mistakes and slip-ups. Everything had to be perfect for his perfect girl. He also couldn't wait till the days after he proposed to tell her all about this.
It was just too great of an idea not to give it a try. Hope you are enjoying these two-part chapters xx
