Telling the captain
Gopher knew before they sailed again that he had to tell the captain about his pregnancy and maybe the captain can give him a break somehow someway maybe, but this way the captain he never gave anyone a break unless they needed it, and Gopher has to tell him he will need to be off work for a while once the baby comes cause he would need to take care of the little one as well before they sailed
"Gopher you have to tell the captain sometime" Julie says as they were in his cabin right now discussing arrangements cause Gopher had to fit a bassinet and baby supplies as well in his cabin somehow unless he asks for a bigger cabin where he would have more storage for him and for the baby as well, but he doubts that the captain will do it and let him upgrade his cabin to a bigger cabin
"I know and it is only a matter of time before the baby tells him cause I am starting to show, so Julie you want to walk with me to the crew shop where you can help me pick out uniforms for awhile cause I know I am only going to get bigger as my stomach grows" he says as he was ready to go out and get the bigger uniforms as well, so he can still work and be comfortable as well
"I know I think right after we come back from getting the bigger uniforms I will tell him" Gopher says as they left
(Later)
Gopher as going to get bigger everyday clothes as well to wear when he was not on duty as well cause he had to explain that he was going to be putting on weight due to a condition and he was going to drop the weight as well
"Okay I might as well go ahead and find the captain and tell him" Gopher says as he was heading to the captain's office and he was going to break the news to him that he was in fact pregnant and with child as well
Gopher was practicing what he was going to say in his head as he was heading there, and he had to change it 50 times before he came to a right story he was going to tell the captain cause he had to know after all
"Sir you in?" Gopher asks as he was knocking on the door to the captain's office
"Yes Gopher what is it?" Merrill asks as Gopher came in cause Merrill was putting some pictures of Vicki in picture frames and the two of them got their pictures done as well so he was going to frame those as well
"Sir there is no way to beat around the bush with this, so I am going to come right out and say it I am in fact pregnant" Gopher says quick and easy as well
Merrill did not know what to say at the moment
"Gopher please tell me this is a joke and you did not say that you are pregnant" Merrill says with a chuckle
"Sir I wish this was a prank, but sadly it isn't and I am in fact pregnant and with child I will show you my bump I have forming right now" Gopher says as he was unbuttoning his shirt to show the captain his tiny bump that he had forming where the baby was in fact growing right now
Merrill could not believe what he was seeing that Gopher was in fact pregnant so he had a pregnant crew member on board the princess
"Sir I am going to try not to gain too much weight with this pregnancy and I am going to keep my shape the best that I can, but the baby needs room to grow as well" Gopher says as he was going to try to stay fit for his pregnancy
"Yes Gopher try not too cause it would not look right and I am going to have your behind the desk greeting passengers, and you will be working away from the passengers as well, so no one makes fun of you. Julie, Isaac and of course Vicki will need to take on extra work to help you out, and you will need time off when the baby comes am I right?" Merrill asks him
"Yeah at least two to three weeks right now" Gopher says as he was thinking of the c section that he was going to have as well cause he will need to be off work to recover from the birth as well
"That is understandable, and when the birth happens are you going to have it on the boat or at the hospital?" Merrill asks him
"I am going to have it here maybe during the night or early morning so no one knows that a baby was born on the ship and maybe I can rest in my cabin away from everyone else as well cause I hate to take up a bed in the infirmary especially when the passengers are sick or whatever" Gopher says to him
"I bet you would like a bigger cabin for you and the baby?" Merrill asks him
"Yes cause I am going to have a lot of items and there isn't any room for a bassinet in there right now" Gopher tells him
"You will get a bigger cabin once the cruise is over I will be seeing what rooms aren't booked that much then go from there, and you will be granted leaves once the baby is born, and I don't want your work to suffer either Gopher I want you to give it a 100 percent still, and I will have you eat in the cabin as well for meal times, so nobody says a word to you" Merrill says as he was thinking how this was going to work and they can keep the pregnancy a secret away from everyone as well
Gopher was happy he was getting a bigger cabin, eating away from the passengers and not spending much time with them either, but he was not happy that he had to work in private away from everyone cause of this, but he knew it was not going to be long before he goes back to normal and eating in the dining room as well
