Five days have passed since kilios retrieved the pyramid tech for Ikora. During that time, Kilios has been helping the bakery by making his famous cannolis, cookies, conchas, and empanadas. Mostly the cookies and cannolis. But still, he enjoyed helping out Berto's family bakery. They also did their own things like bolios, pan dulce, conchas, polvoron trebol, and galletas. But right now, Kilios is making some chocolate chips cookies for the kids that live in the family bakery. Still, it surprises him just how big this bakery is. Or maybe he keeps getting surprised because he forgets how big it is. The bakery is a large two-story building that upstairs is used for big projects like making birthday cakes or any large orders. Downstairs has two areas, the living area for the family that lives in the bakery sleep, and the other the bakery front place. Hearing a ding, Kilios grabs his oven mitts and head for the oven. Pulling out the tray Kilios the on the table to let the cookies cool a bit. After they cooled, Kilios gets a good amount of cookies, bagging them before he calls out for the kids.
"Niños las galletas ya estan listos." (kids the cookies are ready) Kilios yelled out doing so, the kids started running out of their rooms and into the kitchen. There are 7 of them, 3 are from Berto's, two of which are twin girls, and the other four are his sister's kids. The oldest of the group, Diego, whos 14, got here first.
"Hah! Beat you all here again." Diego exclaimed to his sibling and cousins, gaining some groans from them.
"This isn't a race, Diego!" Earning Diego a punch from his sister Ciri while also gaining nods from the others, except the younger ones who are just confused.
"Hey! No hitting your brother. And Diego, please don't try to make everything a race. It'll just annoy your hermanas y primos." said Kilios
"Sorry, Tio." Both of them said at the same time while looking down.
"But enough of that. Who wants some cookies." Hearing that, the kids started saying (me! me!). "Alright, alright, everyone at the table." Saying that, the kids began taking seats at the table, waiting to get the cookies. Kilios started to put the cookies in bowls while getting cups and filling them with milk. After that, he began putting the plates in front of the kids, who instantly started eating his cookies. Kilios placed the last bowl down and went to the front of the bakery to see Berto, who was just beginning to close the door to the bakery.
"Ah, Tio, you finished making the treats for the kids." responding with a nod, Berto smiles before bringing Kilios in a hug. "Sometimes, I wonder where we be if mi bisabuelo never met you."
"Probably the same. Just without my cookies and cannolis." Kilios responded. Berto just smiled and patted his shoulder to that response before taking a step back from him. Seeing him barely reminds him of his great grandfather. Berto has a curly Low Fade Blowout and a goatee. He is currently wearing an orange shirt stained with some flour and denim pants.
"Oh! By the way, Ikora called." Berto said with all new seriousness, "She said she needed you. Some private matter that only involves you. And also, if you could bring some cookies for her and cannolis for Zavala." Kilios chuckles at that but goes to the counter and bags some cannolis for Zavala and the rest of the bagged cookies he made earlier before heading out to the tower.
While heading to the tower, Kilios also drops by to stock up on some cooking supplies when he decides to do some outdoor cooking. After more trips getting supplies, he finally makes it to the tower. He sees Ikora waiting for him, and she also spots him arriving. Waving him to come, Kilios approaches her.
"Kilios, it's good to see you again," said Ikora smiling before changing her expression to a serious one, "We shouldn't talk here. Let us head to Zavala's office." responding with a nod kilios, follows Ikora to Zavala's office to also see him there too. Noticing their entrance, Zavala greets both of them with a nod before he goes to shut the door.
"Apologies for the secrecy Guardian. The info we got was delicate to public ears." Ikora said, having a distressed expression on her, "this was necessary for what my hidden have discovered with the tech you brought in." as Ikora turned around, Zavala continued for her.
"The pyramid tech you brought in is a portal to another world separate from ours. And Ikoras hidden haven't been successful getting through the other side." Before Zavala could continue, Kilios spoke before him.
"And let me guess. You got a task for me that may be able to get me on the other side of the portal." With a nod from Zavala, he spoke again.
"Indeed. Ikora believes communing with one of the pyramid ships on Europa might be able to give you the ability to use the tech."
"But it is only a hunch. We are still not too sure about this." Ikora spoke this time. "But, if you communed with them once for your deepsight, why not this portal." Turning to face Kilios, Ikora said, "I got the tech ready for you to move to Europa. Once you're about to enter the Pyramid, be sure to check-in. And Ed, please make sure he doesn't forget to check in."
Kilios ghost appears quickly to say yep before disappearing back into his inventory. After the secret meeting, Kilios makes his way to his ship. But before he enters, he hears a woman calling out to him.
"Hey, you! Shiny gold person!" turning to face the person calling him, he sees not a person calling him but a ghost. "Hey, are you about to head out to another planet?" She has a cheerful tone, and her shell is very nicely decorated. It has gold lines tracing around its blue case and some jewels on her front and back. (Or, in other words, Sanctified Vigilance Shell with the Paragon shader) "Um, hello?" that snaped Kilios from his staring, and he responded to her question.
"Yes, we are. Why are you asking?"
"I was wondering if I could hitch a ride with you guys to another planet in hopes of finding my own Guardian. Maybe even find the best one that can outmatch any guardians in the crucible. Or maybe-" and she continues rambling about how she gonna find the best Guardian. He does admire her imagination. "Or, Or-"
"Yes, yes, you want to find a powerful guardian. I'm pretty sure a lot of ghosts do. But sure, I'm able to give you a ride" With a squeal of excitement, she follows him into his ship. Not before he forgets what he's was doing before getting reminded by Ed. During the ride to Europa, unknown to Kilios, the pyramid tech on his ship was starting to act up. And before he knows it, his ships start going haywire.
"Crap! What's going on?!" Kilios check his systems and sees all of the bad stuff. Warning engine damaged, warped drive damaged, exterior damaged, ship hull critically damaged. "That's not good."
"AHHH! What's going on?! Are we gonna die?! Please NO, I'm too pretty to die!" Kilios ghost appears, and both of them just stare at their new ship companion like what, before kilios gets off his seat to try and fix the ship. He didn't take two steps before he was knocked off balance and thrown to the floor of his spaceship. The next thing he knows, the entire ship is surrounded by light, and all three of them get teleported into another world. Not after, of course, Kilios ship literally crashed nose-first into the ground, causing a giant explosion. After a bit, Kilios' ghost revives him outside the crash. After Kilios is brought back to life, he goes to see the damage to the ship. And without a doubt is unsalvagable except for the back. So kilios goes to the back of his vessel and starts taking out his supplies that weren't destroyed.
Removing some scraps, he sees the other ghost buried under it.
"Oh hey, you're still alive. Just as I am." She said with a still cheerful voice, "Though not as pretty. Shiny yes. But pretty ehhhh." As she began floating around. Ed appears and starts scanning the ship for anything salvageable. While Kilios speaks with the other ghost.
"That's a bit rude. But I've heard worse lies people have told to themselves." Kilios said the ghost, which caused her to start fuming and banging her shell into his chest as he chuckled. "Actually, now that I think of it, I never did ask your name."
"And you will never get it. hmph" Turning to face away from Kilios, Kilios just shrugs from that and starts walking away before he hears a quick reply from her again. "It's Eight! Names Eight." She said with a cheerful voice again.
"Kilios-86, and my ghost is Ed." Saying that they both hear a distant 'sup' from behind them. "Either way, Ed, what's salvageable." Ed approaches Kilios and reports what is salvageable.
"So the stealth drive still works, so I can install that to your new ship stored in our data. A ton of your food supplies miraculously survived. And the stored weapon vault is slightly damaged, but all the data should still be ok. But the ship itself, well, it's doesn't take a genius to figure it dead weight now. So I'll just turn the scrap into Glimmer for us to use." Responding with a nod Kilios turns to the other ghost.
"Hey, Sorry for getting you caught up on all this. I know you were trying to hitch a ride to another planet, but it seems you're stuck on Earth again."
"Kilios, I got bad news," Ed said, "I'm getting no signals here. I'm not able to contact anyone, not Ikora, Zavala, or another person from the tower." Hearing that the other ghost tries the same thing and gets the same results.
"Same for me. Nothing, not even any other signals from the other races." Everyone was getting worried about their current situation before they started hearing movement behind them. Kilios ghost immediately disappeared into his inventory, and the other disappeared somewhere else.
"Ed, weapon! Doesn't matter which one!" After saying that, the hand cannon Ace of Spades materializes in his hand Kilios then takes aim at the location of the noise. Waiting there, he sees three people come out. All three of them are wearing Strange red clothing and masks that almost look like skulls with spikes coming out the sides. Seeing these people, Kilios lowers his weapon a bit, but only a bit. "Ed, who are these people? And why are they dressed weirdly?"
"Why are you asking me! You think I've seen people dress like this before!" His ghost shrieks out.
"Maybe?" His ghost only sighs to that response, so since he doesn't know, maybe asking them will. "Hello. I crashed my ship here and was wondering if you got any communication for me to use to contact the vanguard in the last city." The three people just look at each other in confusion before responding in a language Kilios doesn't understand. With a tilt of his head, they seem to get the message that he doesn't understand them, just as they don't understand him. And with that, all three of them take a fighting stance, which immediately causes Kilios to go full alert and aim his weapon at them. "Hey, hey, there's no need to fight! We just need to get in contact with the vang-" Kilios didn't get to finish as a stream of fire engulfed him. The fire wasn't as hot: thanks to his armor and shields. But still, once the fire faded, he responded back with some fire of his own by shooting two shots at them. One of the bullets struck the shoulder of someone and the other the nee cap of another. Those two dropped down instantly, crying out in pain. And the last guy was now looking unsure if he should continue to fight the person. And his response was by running away.
"Huh, looks like he left you two. That's a shame." Still looking in the direction that the person ran away from. Kilios didn't notice that one of the downed people got up and shot more fire at him. Getting hit on his back, Kilios stumbled a bit. Kilios turned around to aim, but his weapon was knocked out of his hand by the persons' fire. Seeing that his weapon got knocked out of his hand. The attacker took the opportunity to start bombarding Kilios with even more fire forcing kilios to run for cover behind his destroyed ship. "Damn lost Ace! Ed, Give me another gun." A new gun materializes, and it is Dead Mans Tale. Kilios comes out from cover and takes aim. And he sees the person reaching for Ace, and Without another thought, Kilios shoots. Being unable to react on time, the person gets a bullet to the head, causing it to explode, and his body falls to the ground. "No one and I mean NO ONE! Touches Ace!" Kilios yelled out to the now-dead person. He runs over to the gun and instantly picks up ace while storing his other weapon in the databank. Kilios hears whimpering from behind and sees the last member whose kneecap he shot was trying to crawl away. Kilios Starts approaching the person, which causes the person to turn around and shoot fire at him. Kilios just tanks the attack before grabbing the person's hands and subduing them, causing them to hiss in pain. "Stop it! The fight is over! Just relax. Ok? Ed, get me some handcuffs if we got any. If not, make some with our Glimmer."
"On it." replies his ghost, and within a few seconds, he got the handcuffs. Kilios cuffs their legs and arms, and after he was done, he made to move for their mask.
"Alright, time to see the culprit." Removing the face mask, he sees a young woman who looks to be entering her early adulthood. "By the traveler. You're young." The only response he got was her spitting on his helmet. Sighing, Kilios wipes the spit off his helmet, picks her up, and moves her by a nearby tree that wasn't burned. "Stay and don't move." Her response was to just continue to glare angrily at him. Kilios holds out his hand, and his ghost appears. "Alright, Ed, Salvage the ship and turn it into Glimmer. After that, put out another ship from my databank."
"Yes, sir, goldie locks," Ed responded before he went to the ship and started shooting his light on it. "also, you owe me Glimmer."
"Why-
"Haha, goldie locks. I like that" Kilios got interrupted by a familiar cheery voice. He turns around to see Eight flying toward them. "By the way, while you were fighting, I took the liberty to find out why we weren't getting any signals. And the reason why~. It's because we are no longer on Earth."
"Huh?" Both Ed and Kilios responded simultaneously. "Ed. Do we still have the pyramid tech?" saying that his ghost starts scanning every part of the crashed ship.
"It's gone!"
"What do you mean it's GONE!"
"I mean, THAT IT'S GONE!" And with that, Kilios got a chair made of light and sat on it. "No, no, no. What are we gonna do without the tech? We can't go home without it, and if we don't go home soon, I'm gonna soon forget about Berto and his family."
"That won't be happening soon," Ed said calmly. "you may not remember, but you and the family made a recording in case this happens. Not the crash landing in another world sort of thing, of course, but you get what I mean." Saying that Kilios let out a breath of relief.
"Make sure you remind me to see that video every night to not forget them. I don't know how long it'll take to find the tech again. But I sure do not want to forget them. Thanks, Ed."
"Yep," Ed said, popping the p. "now what about the person you handcuffed? And what are you gonna do now that you're stuck here, Eight?" Saying her name popped Eight out of her daydreaming.
"What? Oh yeah, what I'm going to do, yeah." There was a short pause before she responded. "Wait, what do you guys mean about pyramid tech?" All of a sudden, she gasped. "Were you guys doing some illegal smuggling of pyramid tech?!"
"No, No, of course not. We were supposed to do a secret mission involving Kilios here going to Europa to commune with one of the pyramids. The reason is why was so that we can find out how to use the tech we got, and as you saw, we never made it." Eight just narrowed her one eye before speaking.
"Ok. I believe you." Catching both, Kilios and Ed got caught off guard by her total acceptance like that. Ignoring their surprised expressions, she went to the cuffed woman on the floor at the tree, who was now not looking too good. "Hey guys, I'm pretty sure she's gonna die if we don't do something. Or are you gonna let her bleed out? If so, I'm not complaining. She could be my Guardian." With a small gasp, she started rambling about how she'll be the first ghost to get a guardian in another world and boasting about their prowess.
"Now that's just cold." Both Ed and Kilios said at the same time. Kilios got up from his chair made of light, making it disappear, and approached the bleeding woman. "Ed, do we have any medical supplies?"
"Nope. You're a robot, remember." Ed said with some sass. bitch. "But we do have to stop the bleeding, so I guess some duck take will help slow the bleeding." Saying that the duck tape appeared next to Kilios, which he proceeded to wrap around her leg tightly.
"Hey, guys." Eight yell out, causing Ed and kilios to turn towards her location. "I transmitted the ship away and turned it into Glimmer. Is it ok if I keep the Glimmer?" Kilios just gave her a thumbs up and finished putting duct tape on the woman.
"Alright, Ed, transmit the ship from the databanks." In bright particles of light, Kilios' new ship appears. And just on time because he soon sees extra people with the same clothing begin to appear. Taking that as a cue to leave, Kilios disappears in a flash of light and takes off in his new ship to explore this new world.
