Cesar or Tempest here. If you're wondering what's up with Mr.D in this chapter it'll all be explained later. You also get a small hint on the revised version of chapters one and two as I combined them and fixed some spelling mistakes as well as added small additions and a big one being the prologue. You don't need to reread the entirety of chapter one just the prologue so you get a hint of what's going to happen later on. With that onto the chapter.
I woke up covered in sweat. It was sunrise and I felt the cold breeze from the ocean hit the cabins' weak walls. My cabin mates were still asleep. I got up and decided I would explore the camp by myself in the morning. As I got up I noticed someone else was awake. An empty sleeping bag with a pair of shoes on it. I dismiss it and walk out of the camp. Outside the mist and the light of the rising sun made everything have a hue of yellow. I decided to go to the strawberry fields, Lou's second favorite spot. As I walked to the fields I passed the big house and smelt wine. A hand touched my shoulder "Good morning Jaxson."
"Good morning Lord Dionysus." He cringes at my words.
" Please call me Mr.D Lord Dionysus makes me sound old." I thought he was going to be an asshole.
"Okay Mr.D." He held my shoulder and began walking.
"You're an enigma, you know that Jaxson. Us gods rarely protect our children as much as your mother has. You are quite favored it seems."
"Thank you Mr.D." He shakes his head and chuckles.
"The ones the most blessed die the fastest." That's nice to hear. "Can I ask you a question?" I nod "How are your dreams?" I cannot tell him. I cannot tell him.
"Nothing much I saw a council of the gods talking about a new member of the council to be added." He looked at me looking for any sign of lying or nervousness. My mind felt empty.
"I see. Most demigod dreams have a deeper meaning but yours seem straightforward. It might even be about me. Did you know I was a demigod once?"
"Yeah, you made wine right?" He nodded.
"Yeah I'm the wine guy. A son of Zeus. Famous for making wine. And for that I have a higher status than Heracles. Strange how the world works. I wonder how is Heracles?" He said to himself. "Once my suspension is over I'll visit him. Have you drunk wine before Jaxson?"
"Yeah, occasionally my mom would give me a sip. Not my real mom but the one I spent time with." I answered somberly. The thought of my parents not even being mine. Maybe my dad is my real father. But it cannot be my mother.
"Well you're in for a treat." He snapped his fingers and a glass of wine and a can of diet coke. "Normally I would drink with you but I've been banned from drinking wine. It's outrageous that the god of wine is banned from drinking wine!" He says handing me the glass of wine.
"You have a point. That doesn't really make sense. You're being forced to not drink the thing that made you who you are today."
"I'm glad you feel the same as I do. Sorry about my mood yesterday. You have to act a bit indifferent to show superiority around others otherwise you'll be a joke of a god. Especially older campers." He says apologetically.
"It's okay I understand." I take a sip of the wine. It tasted great. Like a divine Kool aid.
"Well how is it." He asks eyebrows raised.
"It's great!"
"It better be it would be a shame if the god of wine couldn't make wine." He chuckled and turned to me. "You haven't gotten a weapon yet have you?"
"No I haven't." I answer.
"Well do you want to get one?" He asked "Sure." He beckoned me to follow him and I obliged. He led me around the strawberry fields and to a row of furnaces. "This is the forge. The only people who come here are children of Hephaestus." He continued walking till he led me to a large store room. "This is the armory. Here you can get weapons from famous people or weapons with special abilities." He walked inside and grabbed a dagger. "Like this is Helen of Troy's dagger. Apparently it's cursed but who actually wants a dagger anyways. Swords are so much cooler." He summoned a medium sized blade with engravings on it. "This is my sword Harvester. Originally I used a staff Thyrsus but over the centuries I decided to master swordsmanship. One of my greatest decisions. Well go inside and find your weapon or weapons."
"How do I chose?"
"I don't know how to explain it but it'll call to you." I nodded and walked in.
The door creaked as it closed behind me. Most likely Mr.D's doing. With the door closed I could see light coming from holes in the walls. Illuminating the dust in the air. I looked around and saw a large array of weapons. Staffs, Swords, Daggers, Guns and a flamethrower. The most logical weapon would be a pistol. However I still wanted to dual wield. I continued walking till halfway through I found a bronze sword. Even in the dim light it glimmered unlike the others I saw so far. The sword was simple. A small plain hilt with no engravings anywhere. But it's bronze color shined like no other. As I grabbed the blade it the feeling of power surged through me. This blade was meant for me. I thought. My first sword was chosen. I held the blade along my hand it's edge pointed to the roof. "I will have to get a sheaths for my swords." I said aloud to myself. I reached the end of the armory where another blade stood out. This one was much more unique then the last. It's dark blade was slightly curved like a katana. It had engravings along the entire sword and it's hilt was blood red. The engravings depicted skeletons all over the blade. I skimmed my finger across the edge. It was razor sharp even though it seemed like it hadn't been touched for a while. But it was still better than the blades around it covered in cobwebs. When I grabbed the hilt I felt no power surge through me. I felt cold. As if all the shadows in the room clunge to me. This blade was definitely special. I decided to take the blades with me. Two blades, total opposites of each other. While I was walking out I saw a pair of brass knuckles. They were beaten and worn. I took those as well. I had always wanted a pair and now I had one. Even though I had been inside for long as I walked out the sun burned my eyes. Mr.D was still there looking at the big house. "Ahh you're back." He looked at my weapons of choice. "Armed to the teeth it seems. The old horse is leaving today. So I'll be on my own for a bit." He says somberly. Should I ask him to become my teacher or something? Might as well I think I made a good enough impression to ask.
"I have a question Mr.D."
"What is it?"
"Could you please tutor me. I would like to get accustomed to everything and I'd appreciate it if you would help me." His eyes looked into me again. He sighed
"Sure. You seem like a good kid and I don't have anything better to do."
"Thank you Mr.D."
"Don't mention it. Seriously don't mention it, I might get in trouble with the psychos upstairs." I nodded. "Go eat breakfast but before that find a child of Hephaestus and get some sheaths. I'll change up your schedule for you as well."
"Thanks again."
I walked off back to the cabins. Stopping only for a second to put on my new brass knuckles The sun was now higher in the sky. The soft breeze is still carrying the sea's scent. When I reached the cabins I noticed as some were now getting ready for the day. Fortunately one of them was the Hephaestus cabin. Made of brick this was the most normal seeming of the cabins not including the rundown Hermes cabin. If you ignored the vault door for the entrance that is. otherwise it looked like a simple house with two glass windows and a chimney. Four people were outside the cabin. All different no physical similarities other than two having the same hair color. As I walked up to them the biggest of them all also walked out to me. "Are you a son of Hephaestus? Because I would like to get a sheath."
"You new here?" He asks with an eyebrow raised. His face seemed laced with smoke and ash. His eyes reminded me of a dying fire with flaming rocks surrounding it.
"Yeah. I came here yesterday but I'm trying to get ready as fast as I can." He grunts. His eyes like many of the others of this camp analyzing me.
"I can get you some. It might cost you depending on what type you want."
"Can I see them? I'm kind of new to this whole weapon thing."
"Hmm." He began walking back to the cabin. Inside the cabin was completely modern. Set up like a barrack. It was the nicest place I have seen so far. It's floor was a beautiful white tile and it's walls a silky silver metal. But with all kinds of machines lying around it was also the messiest. He walked over the small gadgets on the floor and put his hand against the steel walls. "Archimedes 53." "Beckendorf." A robotic voice announced. Suddenly gears could be heard moving, the wall began to go beneath the floor as a new wall appeared. "Take your pick on what you would like." The wall was adorned with knives and sheaths. The knives were all unique, some plain and some heavily jeweled from the hilt to the edge. But all were unique. Today I was not knife shopping, I was here to get a sheath. A dark skinned sheath caught my eye. As I skimmed my hand across it I noticed it wasn't leather. It was too silky and smooth. "What is this made out of?" "It's made out of Apollo's sacred cattle's skin." I nodded
"How much?"
"Thirty Drachma." I would be spending my entire funds and more on it. I nodded again and moved on. After many simple brown sheaths another unique one appeared. It was silver and heavily engraved with images of Medusa's head with a Pegasus flying out and a weird baby crawling. It was definitely a fashion statement at the very least.
"How much for this one?" I say pointing to the silver one."
"That one is twenty Drachma."
"Say what if I help you how long would it take to pay it off?" He shrugged, "Two, Three months at least. You'll also need a leather strap to put around your waist."
"Will it be fine if I pay you ten Drachma now and work for two months to pay the rest off?"
"Yes but you will be helping me forge weapons and armor everyday."
"That's fine." I stuck my hand out to close the deal. He stuck his colossal hands and we shook hands. Now I am a broke forge assistant working for two months at the very least for two sheaths.
"How much for a normal sheath?"
"Free take it you've been carrying your weapons this whole time you might scratch the walls." I had forgotten I was holding two swords and wearing brass knuckles. I took the full sheath and for the first time sheathed my swords.
After speaking with Beckendorf I decided to get a head start on my cabin which had just begun to get up. I headed down to the mess hall where a few tables were already occupied. The plates were already set as I sat down on the long Hermes table. I got to choose where I sit today and I decided to stay where I was yesterday. At the end of the table. It did not matter as for today I have to take my first lesson with Luke. I had butterflies in my stomach as I sat there imagining me blowing Luke out of the water with my swordsmanship. While I was daydreaming, the rest of the cabin arrived. Chris sat next to me. "What you thinking about?"
"I'm thinking about how my first sword fighting lesson will go." He nodded understandingly.
"You'll be humiliated."
"Huh?" I ask dumbfounded.
"Luke will humiliate you. Not on purpose you don't seem very cocky. He is something else entirely when it comes to sword fighting. As if he was blessed by Ares."
"He's that good?"
"Yes he is. Two waffles, eggs and bacon." He called out and began eating. "Grilled cheese sandwich. So do you have a sword fighting lesson too?"
"No, I use a spear." Chris says with a mouthful of bacon in his mouth. With that the rest of breakfast is in silence between the two of us. After I finished eating I called for eggs, bacon and a hash brown just as I did yesterday and walked to the fire.
"Here you go mom. I'm doing sword training now. I'm also going to work at the forge." I whisper
"Yeah I know. It's really good you're doing stuff and meeting new people." I hear my mother's voice in my head.
"I have a question. Why can't I call anyone?"
"Oh that's just because of the force field, don't worry about it."
"Okay thanks." I saw Mr.D at the high table watching me from afar. I made sure not to look at him directly but I turned around and he looked away.
I began walking to the arena where my training with Luke will begin. The breeze from the morning is less apparent than it was before. The sun rays began to become hotter. Wouldn't the sun be Apollo's chariot? How would that even work? Questions for another day. Mr.D said earlier Chiron was leaving. Where is he going and why? I'll have to ask him later. The arena smelt of sand. I don't like sand. It's coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere. Luke was not at the arena yet so I sat on the stands waiting. I instinctively reached for my pocket to grab my phone but it was dead. I'll have to get a charger and find a port somewhere. Luke was the first to arrive. He waved his hand calling me over. "You've been up for a while. You weren't in your sleeping bag after I went to the bathroom."
"Yeah I went to get weapons and a sheath." "I see that, two swords and a set of brass knuckles." I unsheathed my swords
"Yeah what do you think?"
"They're really nice." He took the bronze blade in his hands and skimmed his finger over the edge, cutting it
. "Sharp too. Did you get this from your mother?"
"No, I found them in the armory."
"Oh ok. There was Stygian Iron in the armoury?" He saw my confused look. " Nevermind, You want to see mine?" He unsheathed his sword. A beautiful grey and bronze mixing together like two waves in the ocean.
"It's beautiful. How did you even find it."
"It was just a normal sword but I added real iron to it. That's why you see the waves."
"Damn that's fire. You got a name for it."
"Yeah backbiter." he rubbed the back of his head.
"Damn luke you got a badass sword with a badass name."
"Thanks man, your blades are nice too. But your sheath is kind of basic."
"Yeah I know." patting the sheath. "It's only temporary I'm going to work with Beckendorf to get a better one." He nodded.
"We'll talk later. Since you were first here, let's see what you can do." He handed my blade back and walked a few steps away from me. "Show me your stance." I put my right leg in front of my left and took the black blade on my right hand and held it flat in front. The back slightly tilted towards me. The bronze sword was near my hip, its edge facing me. The bronze glittered in the sunlight. "Not a bad stance. You're keeping your swords away from each other, that's good. You also have one in a thrusting position and another in a slicing one. Your stance is really good for a beginner." He commented. "Now come at me."
"No."
"What?" He asks.
"Why should I waste my position." "Ha." He chuckles "Fair enough." He begins approaching me with his blade on his side. He was relaxed and smiling but not a happy smile. More like I'm going to beat his ass type of style. Which he probably was. He got right outside reach and pointed his sword to me. "Now we start."
He moved his hand back to his side and swung his sword diagonally. Without thinking I flipped my stance. He predicted this. Stopping mid swing, changing direction. Aiming for my side now. Knocking his blade to the ground he smiled before continuing moving his blade towards my side. At that moment I knew I lost. My dark blade was touching the ground and my bronze blade was too far away to do anything. He dismantled me. "Not bad at all. You did good trying to stay in your stance but as soon as you stopped my first swing you should've thrusted your sword. Again. This time you attack." He backed off back to where he began. I walked towards him. My blades were at my sides no longer in stance. I tried channeling my thoughts. I could not rely on muscle memory as this was my first time sword fighting. I stopped right outside of reach and stared at him. He simply smiled. Beckoning me to attack. I swung my right blade diagonally the opposite of what he had done. He easily deflected it. Lining up for the thrust I swatted his balde away. Instinctually I moved my dark blade across his legs barely out of reach he jumped back and settled. "So close but so far away." He says his smile widening, reminding me of Kronos. I advanced. Trying to catch his balde is sandwiched between my own forming an asterisk. He pulled his sword down, cutting both of my hands in the process. And with one fluid motion his blade was poking my Adams apple. "If I was a beginner I would be dead. But I'm not and neither will the monsters outside camp. You have good ideas but you're not fast enough and you don't have enough power. In a couple of years you'll be good enough to maybe win against me. You'll be with the intermediate group. You won't get better unless you get your ass kicked. Get with your sparring partners. Jaxson you'll be working with Gleason Hedge. He's a satyr. Also don't call him a donkey." Nice my first time meeting a satyr.
"Get over here princess." First impression. He was short, his curly hair peeking out of his Mets hat, his beard untrimmed and he smelt like rockstar cans. Did I mention he had a baseball bat.
"I'm guessing you're Mr. Hedge?"
"That's right. Grab a practice sword, will you? I'm not trying to lose my soul today with your Stygian iron blade."
"Yeah no problem my bad." I say scratching the back of my head.
"Are you going to be using that bat?"
"Yeah." Okay then. I grabbed two practice swords and got in my stance. Hedge had a terrifying smile when he saw my stance. He cracked his fingers and neck and lifted his baseball bat over his shoulder. He started circling me and I did the same.
"You ready young blood?"
"Sure old man." His smile widened and he charged.
He was fast he swung overhead. I parried using my dual blades pushing him back. He continued forward. A swing to my legs. I jumped and he swung again to my side. Barley pushing off another attack. Another overhead swing. I noticed a pattern if he goes for another swing I can confirm it. I parry the swing again. Another swing to my legs. I jump. As I land one of my practice swords is centimeters away from his neck. He smiles again and walks backwards. "You can barely keep up with an old man." He says making quotation marks with one hand. "Are you even a demigod or did you accidentally stumble in?" Rage coerced through my veins. I was not one to let my temper take over. But this will be an exception. "Oh you're approaching me? Instead of running away you're coming right to me?"
"I can't beat the shit out of you without getting closer." I swung diagonally with my right arm looking for his bat. He blocked with his bat. I put more strength in the blade. My left blade heading towards his neck. He slapped the blade out of my hand and I returned to stance.
"Is that all you got?" He said still smiling. I wielded the wooden blade with both hands and charged again. I wanted him to block again. He did and I put all my weight against him. A sharp pain was felt in my balls. I collapsed on the ground clutching them in my hands rolling on the ground.
"What the fuck man!" He shrugged
"Monsters aren't going to play fair, why should I?" "
That doesn't mean you can kick me in the balls! That's like basic etiquette."
"I'm pretty sure monsters don't walk old ladies across the road. So what I kicked your balls it's not like you're going to die."
"You killed millions of my kids!"
"Fair enough. Now get up. Everyday we'll spar for a bit and I'll decide your training. You see those dummies?" I nodded starting to get up. The pain still there.
"Well that's your training. You're going to spar with that until training is over." I nodded again, not having the strength to speak. "I'll be watching from the stands." I made it over to the dummies limping. And started swinging my swords.
"Right, left, right, left." I whispered to myself. I'm going to beat the shit out of Hedge one day.
"Swing faster. My grandma swings faster than you and she's a Tulip." What the fuck?
After a session of swinging my sword and hearing Hedge's shitty insults. I decided to go to the beach where I met Lou. I only had sword fighting as my schedule was incomplete. It will be filled in a month no doubt. With me working with Beckendorf and getting more classes. It was close to noon when I made it to the rocky shore. The waves crashing provided a peaceful feeling. Mom, what am I good at? What powers have I inherited?
"I'll tell you one that is it. You're gifted with magnificent control of the mist. But never and I mean never move the mist that I placed on you."
I won't don't worry. "Good, have fun!" If I use the same technique Lou taught me to create an object but use it to change the way I look that might work.
"Concentrate." I murmur imagining myself as blonde. After a few seconds of concentration I pull out my phone. On the black screen I see I have blonde hair! No, this is going to be fun. Like any horny teen I imagined myself as a girl. Black hair to my shoulders, thick thighs, a decent sized chest apparently it's a pain if they're too big. My ass and eyes are fine. I take great pride in my ass. That sounded wrong. "Concentrate." I opened my eyes after a few seconds again and only my hair had grown. "Concentrate" This time I sat in silence for a minute and I opened my eyes. I looked down "Yes it worked!" I was now a girl or at least looked like one. "Can I change my voice too? Concentrate." Another minute passed. I opened my eyes. "Hello? Yes it worked! The amount of shit I could do with this power. Sometimes my genius is… It's almost frightening."
"Hey who're you." I heard Lou's voice behind me. Oh shit
"Hi I'm new here. My name's Sam."
"Hi Sam, I'm Lou. Do you like the shore too?"
"Yeah I love the sounds of the waves." She sits beside me.
"Are you a child Hecate?"
"Not that I know of."
"Weird you have the eyes and hair. And you have mist all over you. Do you want me to move it away?"
"No!" Shit.
"She moved her hand and my disguise was ruined.
"Jaxson?"
"Yeah what's up?" Sighing, she asks.
"Why did you change yourself into a girl on the shore alone?"
"I was just testing my powers."
"Pervert."
" I promise I was just testing my powers. The thought only crossed my mind a couple of times."
"That doesn't help your case Jaxson."
"What do you want me to swear on?" "Swear on the Styx you did that to test your powers."
"Huh?" She sighs again.
"The Styx is a river in the Underworld."
"I know that."
"If you swear on the styx it's basically swearing on your life. But sometimes it can be worse than that."
"Ok then. I swear on the Styx I was practicing using the mist and thoughts of pervion only happened a few times." Thunder could be heard and Lou ran a few feet away. "Where you going?"
"I'm not trying to die with you."
"Damn." Lucky nothing happened and Lou tiptoed back.
"See I'm not that bad."
"Like as a pervert or using mist."
"Both.''
"First off you are a pervert. But yeah you're good with the mist."
"I'll take it. But can you help me with making items appear? Like you did yesterday."
"Yeah, as long as you don't use it to make what I think you're going to make." After a bit of thinking I realized what she meant.
"I think you're the real pervert Lou."
After being chased in the woods Lou helped me with creating objects. I didn't make much progress from yesterday however. Time flew by with Lou attacking me if I said anything close to dirty. We began walking back right before dinner. "I'm starving." Lou complained.
"Same here. We shouldn't have skipped lunch." Lou punched my shoulder
"You're the one who said we should skip lunch, why are you complaining?"
"That doesn't mean you can punch me! That's bullying, you know." She rolled her eyes.
"I didn't even hit you that hard."
"The strength of the punch doesn't matter, it's the action itself. You didn't hurt my arm. You hurt my heart." I pleaded. She punched me again harder.
"How was that for a punch? Does your arm hurt now?"
"Yes it does." "Good." We arrived at the table. Luke was standing talking to some other campers. When he spotted us he walked over.
"Where were you two?"
"Sorry about that Luke. Lou was teaching me more on controlling the mist and we lost track of time." I replied. Luke turned to Lou and she nodded her head.
"Okay just next time check in with me."
"No problem." He took one last look at me and walked back to the other campers.
"Hey Lou, can I sit next to you at the table?" "Yeah go ahead. Just don't say anything weird."
"No promises." I said with a smirk on my face. She rolled her eyes again and we sat at the table.
"Jaxson meet Cecil and Jules."
"Sup." I did a small wave.
"Jaxson is my half-brother. He's pretty shitty at making items but he can turn himself into a girl."
"You can?" The guy Cecil asked.
"Yeah wanna see."
"Fuck yeah." The blonde girl smacked him across the head.
"Don't be such a perv Cecil."
"Why do you always think about me so negatively?" He asks, rubbing his head. "
I'm just reacting to your pervy behavior." Now I really want to turn into a girl "Who's your favorite actress?"
"That one girl from Harry Potter. Hermione."
"Long hair or short."
"Long hair."
"Jaxson if you ask clothes or not I will murder you."
"Clothes or not?"
"No clothes." Both me and Cecil's heads were smacked. "Come on Lou, take a joke."
"I know you both were being serious. I don't want to imagine what would happen if you two were alone."
"First off you are imagining it. Second off that shit would be lit. Right Jaxson?"
"Damn right that shit would be fire!"
"Do you want to get smacked again Cecil?" Jules asked with her hand ready.
"No, I'm sorry."
"Good. Now shut up and eat."
"Yes ma'am. Steak medium rare." Cecil got a plate of steak. Now it's time to shift. I began imagining Emma Watson. I think her name was with long hair.
"Concentrate." I whispered.
"Whoa. Jaxson you look just like her." Cecil said, staring.
"Really?"
"Yeah that's actually impressive." Jules admitted.
"Do you feel tired at all doing that?" Lou asked.
"No, not really."
"You must be really gifted at that then." Jules said her mouth was full of spaghetti.
"Thanks. Egg fried rice and chow mein." My meal appeared and I began eating, still looking like Emma Watson.
"Are you going to go back to normal?" Lou asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Yeah why?"
"Because you're distracting all the guys on the table."
"Oh my bad." I imagined my normal self and shifted back. I heard a bunch of groans around the table. I guess Lou was right, all the guys were staring at me. "Are you guys claimed?"
"Yeah, we're half siblings. Children of Hermes." Jules answered.
"So what can you guys do." "Well we're fast and we are pretty good at stealing stuff."
"Oh that's cool. We would work quite well together. I can probably shift you guy's into anyone and you guys can spy or steal from people." Cecil looked up from his food.
"That's a great idea. We could get the twins to help out as well."
"We can try out tomorrow to see what we can pull off."
"Sure what should we do?" "I don't know, probably just test it out then we can move our way up to leaving camp and heading to New York."
"That's fine you wanna practice after lunch."
"Yeah that works for me." Me and Cecil shook hands across the table. Lou and Jules were shaking their heads.
"I hope you guys get caught." Lou said dismissively. With that I was finished with dinner and headed to the altar. Thanks for telling me I can shift mom.
"No problem. Master that and I'll tell you another trick." Mom said in my head.
"Steak medium rare." A steak appeared on my plate and I dumped it in the fire.
It was now time for the campfire. The sun had completely set and this time we were accompanied by both Mr.D and Chiron. I began looking for lady Hestia who was sitting alone once again. "It seems you weren't lying when you said you'll come back."
"I'm not a good enough liar to lie to a goddess in front of her face, my lady." She giggled and the fire's flames grew hotter. "Why do you say my lady?" "I say it out of respect for you." She shook her head.
"You don't have to call me my lady, just call me Hestia."
"Sorry lady Hestia, I can't do that." She shook her head again.
"May I ask you a question, my lady?"
"Yes you may."
"Why don't you have a cabin?"
"I am no longer an Olympian goddess." "But you were once."
"The past is the past for a reason. I gave up my title millennium before the creation of the camp."
"If cabins are for the children of the gods, why does Artemis have one?"
"It's a show of respect. However, the hunters of Artemis stay there whenever they are visiting. Hera's cabin is the same. As the goddess of marriage my sister has no illegitimate children."
"I see thank you my lady." Today I listened to the stories and songs.
"Campers as you know I will be leaving tonight after the sing-along for urgent business. During that time Lord Dionysis will run the camp solely. Camp counselors will expect more responsibilities in the coming months of my abs.ence. Some adjustments will be mentioned now. Lee Fletcher if you accept you will no longer have to take part in any activities. You will now teach archery in my stay. You will also be required to nominate two members of your cabin to be healers for tomorrow and all other Friday's capture the flag. They may be changed at any time at your approval. Luke Castellan, Annabeth Chase, Sherman Yang, Katie Gardner and Woodrow will be required to help guide new campers in my absence as well. The Council of Cloven Elders will now be allowed a minor role in decisions at lord Dionysis' jurisdiction. All advancement tests will now be decided by lord Dionysis. Any camper who wishes to move up a class or completely skip a class will have to speak to lord Dionysis. Any questions?"
"When will you be back?'' a voice in the crowd said.
"I do not know." Chiron answered. The crowd began whispering among themselves.
"Before the final song I will tell a story I have not told." That attracted the eyes of all in the crowd. Including Lady Hestia and Mr.D. "In the times before the gods the Titans ruled. They ruled with an iron fist no man was free from terror. However I being the only person there witnessed the horrors. Countless slaves, people were treated like pigs, and the demi-titans were given the worst treatment. If they weren't killed at birth they were brainwashed and controlled as mindless killing machines. That was the true horror of the golden era. I know there are children in this crowd however no one should forget the terror that took place."
"All right everyone let's wrap it up here. Go to sleep." Mr.D said, clapping his hands.
"Have a goodnight lady Hestia, I will see you tomorrow."
"I will look forward to it, Jaxson Morrigan." I got up dusted ny clothes off and headed to the Hermes cabin. Inside some of the other campers already began getting ready to sleep. I followed suit and soon Luke calle lights out once everyone had gotten inside. Tonight I was tired. My excitement from yesterday falling. But my mind still active thinking about my dream and Chiron's words. Why did he tell the story now? How was he alive back then? Why did Mr.D cut the sing-along short? Questions I will have answered tomorrow I bet. With my mind now clear I drifted off to sleep.
Well that took a while to write. I will begin adding OCs to the camp to try to liven things up. There will be another chapter about camp at its current stage with capture the flag being in the forefront. After that I will probably have a time skip. I'm spending a lot of time at camp so I'll skip to when Percy shows up. Also this chapter also has some foreshadowing so keep an eye out.Other stuff that may or may not be explained.
1. Jaxson is an unreliable narrator.
2. The Olympians are not too clouded with their pride.
3. I noticed I kind of forgot about Satyrs and I needed someone to train Jaxson so who better than Bruce Lee reincarnated Coach Hedge. The council will have more power now. Rather than just a bunch of old men bickering.
4. Other gods and goddesses will get some time in the spotlight, not just the Olympians.
5. The gods and goddesses will be a lot stronger here. That being said, that also means other characters will be stronger.
6. There are going to be more campers than before. I think during the last Olympian there were only like sixty campers left. That will not be the case here. Imagine more of like two hundred something at the moment.
Finally can I get some music recommendations for writing action scenes or kind of walk in type music? Thanks for reading and as always tell me if anything is off. Criticism is wanted and ideas appreciated. Cesar or Tempest out.
