Snow falls without cessation as a young man with a short mop of blonde hair walks across a somewhat quiet neighborhood town.

Said young man with blonde hair has on a dark blue winter jacket and gloves, blackish pants and boots that look suited for the weather, and on his head were black earmuffs that fits snugly on his ears.

As the young man walks around the neighborhood town, he walks past a couple of stores that have Valentines-theme products.

Though several people would want to buy said products for the special occasion, the young man with blonde hair had other plans in mind for that particular time.

Before long, the young man walks towards a nearby park that was somewhat full of people doing various activities with snow lying around and, after clearing the snow lying around, sits near one of the benches that isn't occupied by anyone yet.

But as the young man was about to enjoy his long-awaited rest, a buzzing sound from his phone changes his mind, and not for the better as he pulls it out from one of his coat pockets.

The phone screen reads 'Melanie Tofter,' which the blonde hits 'Call' on the screen.

"Hello, Mel," the young man groaned.

"Hey Kenzaki," a sarcastic female voice called out.

The young man named Kenzaki rolled his eyes in disappointment. "What do you want Mel?"

"Are you planning to get a date for the Valentines' Dance once school opens up again?" the person named Mel asked.

"No, why?"

"Because it would be pretty awesome if you got one." Mel explained. "I asked Wade if he could be my date for the dance and he did. Seriously, you need to get out of the third wheel Ken; it's embarrassing."

"Melanie, while I'm grateful you and Wade Norton are officially becoming a couple, I said this before, and I'll say this again: Not interested."

"In being the third wheel?"

"In being in a relationship."

Mel simply laughed in response. "Oh, come on, get real Kenzaki, you look young, fit, athletic, and talented. Plus, you got rad guitar skills, exercise often, knows swordsmanship and archery from both east and west, know parkour, speaks both English and Japanese, solid grades in school, knows mixed martial arts, good woodworking and metalsmithing skills, dresses professional in a casual way, does kayaking/canoeing, have a certificate on firearm safety, and even went on hiking trips with your parents. Anyway, pretty much a mouthful, but that can make you a girl magnet for a skillset like that."

Kenzaki snorted. "That's because I'm interested these skills not only out of pure interest, but also my parents wanted me to have something to do outside the house all day. And while I want to dress to be treated like an actual adult aside from acting like one, have to must learn self-defense that extends to how to properly handle firearms out of pure necessity and I did learn outdoor-related skills whenever my family decides to go on hiking trips. Plus, I want to respect both my American and Japanese heritage from my parents. Not that difficult."

"And guitar skills?"

"I like playing the guitar just for fun, that's it."

"But look Mel," Kenzaki stated. "You're right in that I should get a girlfriend thanks to my diverse skillset, but just not right now; perhaps if I have a well-paying or if anyone peaks my interest, I might do that. Other than that, just not right now."

"Alright, fine," Mel grumbled. "But let me know if you have a girlfriend, okay."

"Okay."

"Great, bye now."

Once the conversation has ended, Kenzaki just shook his head in disbelief.

I can consider getting a girlfriend, but not at a time like this. Kenzaki stated internally. I know I'm different from the other guys around my age and perhaps more mature to back it up, but I'll rather wait until I'm feel comfortable enough to consider it. Not only that, there are a number of girls who scoff (if not outright insult), the idea of me learning multiple skills just to keep myself from getting bored.

Sure, Melanie loves Anime and Manga alongside Wade surprisingly and we do enjoy discussing lots of topics aside that, but I still don't think Mel wants me to get a girlfriend. Kenzaki added before resting on the bench.

Well, I'm better sit back and rest for a while, Kenzaki said as he gave a tired yawn. But I better get back home before it gets dark.

As Kenzaki sat down and take a look at the scenery, he wasn't aware that a blonde woman with a purplish winter outfit with a white winter hat was observing him with purplish eyes as she sat a bench a couple of inches beside him.

Ufufufufufufufuu. Yukari giggled to herself. Reimu, I think it's about time to introduce with your new boyfriend. And with that diverse skillsets of his to back up, he's going to be the man you cannot even refuse. But, once the time is right, I will bring the lovebirds together.

A smile crept onto Yukari's lips. And I know how to it start out.

After some time sitting at the bench, Kenzaki sees the sky slowly turn more darkish grey, which he decided to pull out his cellphone to check the time.

Once he finds out that it might be time for him to go back home, the young man pulls his cellphone back on his coat pocket and stood up from the bench he was sitting on.

Now standing up, Kenzaki resumes his walk around the neighborhood town to head back home until he recalls the conversation with Melanie about the prospect of having a girlfriend, and the prospect of not being what Melanie calls 'being in the third wheel.'

However, Kenzaki rolls his eyes about Melanie's suggestion in response, despite having some benefits to having a girlfriend.

I don't blame Melanie for suggesting that idea, but I'm going to give it a pass for the time being. Kenzaki noted to himself. Aside from the fact that girls I see these days want to be rude and obnoxious to anyone they meet, do drugs and other illicit activities, want to go into wrong crowds just because, have a low opinion on guys that want to learn skills or info to be high-quality men, and possibly exploit others' generosity for their own sick agendas. And that's not getting into what they can do online. And while there are a number of girls that don't act like that (Melanie, my mom, sisters, aunts, my female cousins, and some of the girls in my programs I go to count), it won't be easily figuring out if they are truly genuine or not.

Even if I do get a well-paying job, a stable income, and a well-earned reputation, there's a possibility of girls could pretend to be nice just to access my wealth and/or status and pretend to be victims when things don't go their way. Kenzaki added, frowning over a number of girls that do that as he pulls his arms around the back of his head, unaware of the snow starting to blow really hard. If they wonder why they can't get terrible or weak men, that's because they act terrible and weak to everyone around them.

But with that out of the way, I need to head home before the snow starts to go crazy. Kenzaki ended his internal monolog as he got his arms down from his head when the snow starts blowing around the neighborhood at a rapid pace.

Kenzaki himself was trying to move at the direction he needed to go without the wind and snow blowing in front of his face when he decided to march to a location to provide him cover until he either waits for the wind to lessen the blast or use his phone to get him to safety.

Regardless, the young man noted that both options are going to get really tough for him to do this, but must push on in spite of the harsh weather.

But while Kenzaki pushes against the snow, a swift breeze of snow blasts in front of his face, forcing him to use his arms to cover his face. What he didn't expect was a sudden feel of dread coming around him that he couldn't even define it when the breeze manages to slow down to a tolerable level.

Unexpectedly, after what Kenzaki could consider a reasonable amount of time later, the wind starts to die down, allowing him to pull his arms down for his eyes to see.

Sadly, when the young man had to see what was going on, his eyes widen to see a great big forest in front of him instead of the neighborhood he knows pretty well.

But what's more is that when Kenzaki turns himself around and realizes that he now inside of this strange yet eerily forest covered in snow like he's transported to someplace else.

What's going on? Kenzaki questioned nervously. But more importantly, where am I!?"

For the past several days, Reimu had meditated without ceasing inside her own shrine. And while naturally she would had been doing typical duties as a Hakurei shrine maiden when not resolving Incidents, her conversation with Yukari made her resolute at what she actually wanted. Despite the offer to Yukari appeared selfish on Reimu's part, the shrine maiden is slowly becoming desperate to resolve a new Incident she has difficulty over: to quench the sorrow and anger on herself before it consumes her very own mind.

Reimu, during her meditations, didn't bother to eat, drink, sleep, use the bathroom, or even bathe unless her body and mind actually needed them. Other than that, Reimu's meditation period pretty much lasted from day to night, only breaking her meditation whenever her mind and body needs them. A new routine of sorts for the shrine maiden during that time, but she didn't bother about it one bit . . . until today.

While in the midst of her meditation, Reimu sees the gap opening it up a few feet in front of her. Normally she would be upset or annoyed about it and the user herself, but this is slowly different from her usual behavior. Especially when said user comes out of her gap, revealing to be Yukari wearing a purple dress for the cold weather with a small smile on her face.

"Reimu, I'm back," Yukari said in a friendly tone.

"Hello Yukari," Reimu replied as she turns towards the gap youkai with a smile on her face. "I am glad you managed to return.

"Indeed, I am," Yukari nodded. She then added. "I actually found someone that fits to your interests, but I want you to find him in the forest near Misty Lake first."

"Why?"

"To make a companion more trustworthy, have him face something that is beyond his skillset," Yukari explained. "Doing that make you seem like someone he may rely on who has the skills for a situation like that."

"So basically?"

"Find him, before any of the Youkai find him first," Yukari stated. "I do recommend fighting any of them nonlethally, just to avoid drawing unwanted attention."

"Yes Yukari," Reimu nodded as she goes up to her feet, not caring about what Yukari had done as truly insane or borderline psychotic if things were typical, but the former didn't care at a time like this.

"And by the way," Yukari added. "You need to get into your normal attire; it's far better that way for a good impression. Not only that, look for the guy that have blonde hair with the earmuffs; it's easier that way."

Reimu's smile grew, her gazed eyes sparkled in interest. "Yes, Yukari."

"Now, I will leave you to your business," Yukari said as she goes to her gap. "If you need anything, come find me in the Mayohiga and call out my name."

Once Yukari gets inside her gap and closes it, leaving Reimu alone in her shrine with that same smile on her face as she gets ready to find and 'rescue' the guy Yukari whisked off.
