Bell and Artemis left the cafe, a newfound enjoyment radiated from her. Bell could only watch and smile. She moved through the streets and admired what she could. Bell had seen all this before and instead he admired her. Her bright blue hair was tied back but seemed to shine in the sunlight. She moved with such grace that Bell could say she was almost dancing along the cobbled streets.

Bell couldn't help but smile. He grew bored of the same day to day sights. But as he watched her he felt his gaze wander down her back and all the way down to her ass. It was hard for him not to look. It seemed to tease him as he followed behind her slowly.

'This beats the dungeon anyway.' He thought his lack of training and exploration of the dungeon could all lead back to the girl in front of him. But he didn't care.

'I wonder what her reaction to the dungeon would be?' He asked himself the question as he pulled his gaze away from her. Part of him wanted to show her. He knew the dangers but he wanted to see her reaction. 'If she joins she's gonna see it sooner or later.'

Bell looked to the floor. 'Why do I want her to join so badly?' His thoughts were a mess. He tried to remain neutral before but now he couldn't get the thought out his head.

'I shouldn't be thinking that. It's her decision not mine. Besides the dungeon is no place for someone like her!'

Bell looked up and Artemis was standing outside a florist. She seemed to be admiring the beauty of each one. Bell made his way over to her. She seemed to be admiring a white rose.

"It's amazing. So pure yet so beautiful." She said as she brushed her hand over the petals.

"It's not just the roses." Bell said, kicking himself for saying his thoughts allowed.

He looked at her. She had a hint of pink in her cheeks but other than that she didn't seem to react to the comment.

The store door opened and a raven haired woman came out. She looked no older the Artemis but looks could be deceiving.

"Welcome. Is there anything I can do for the two of you?"

She gave a warm welcome and greeting, her eyes drifted to Artemis who was still admiring the outdoor displays.

"Beautiful aren't they? My grandmother used to love them. Pearly white and pure she used to say. Even now she still holds them in high regard."

Artemis turned to the women a smile on her face and deep enjoyment of the situation.

"Indeed, I admire most flowers, strong, beautiful and pure. Even those that are deadly have a certain beauty." Artemis said, getting the attention of the clerk.

"You sound just like my grandmother… I mean no disrespect, you yourself put most of these flowers to shame."

'She's not wrong.' Bell thought of finding himself admiring his companions beauty more than the flowers.

"That's very kind of you to say."

After a few moments Bell found himself waiting outside. He cared little for the topic of conversation and let Artemis explore. Meanwhile he thought about his night with Aiz.

'It's already getting late. But the hostess is open all night so I have no rush. I hope Aiz isn't too mad at me for dropping our plans earlier.'

He felt bad for leaving her. But he couldn't just leave Artemis in such a state. He was glad he made the right decision but he couldn't help feeling somewhat guilty.

"I'll make it up to her later…"

For the next ten or so minutes he lounged outside the shop finding a nice bench in close proximity and view to the shop.

Artemis on the other hand was admiring the many bouquets and other flora.

"I must ask about the boy outside. Is he someone special?"

Artemis seemed to stiffen up at the question before rapidly shaking her head.

"No no he's just a friend of a friend. He's just showing me around."

The women seemed taken aback and embarrassed.

"Oh forgive me. It's just…"

She paused and moved on to carry on with her work. Artemis was curious about what she was going to say.

"Just?" Artemis asked a hint of curiosity but also an annoyance in her voice.

The woman just shook her head. "Well I thought he might be your boyfriend…"

Artemis wished she never asked. Her face was a mixture of confusion and embarrassment.

"What no no what gave you that impression? I mean yeah he's nice but I barely know him and besides it's not like he likes me like that."

Artemis was trying to justify her assessment of the two. It wasn't the first time someone had misjudged them as a couple.

"I do apologize. I'm so embarrassed. You just seemed to give off that vibe. Also the way he looks at you…"

Artemis seemed to home in on the last part. "What do you mean the way he looks at me?"

The store owner could tell that this was not the sought of topic she should be getting involved in. But she couldn't leave the matter alone now.

"Like…like he had seen the most beautiful thing in the world… forgive my phrasing but I guess I can't blame him."

Artemis was left speechless. Not by the comment but by the thought itself. She hadn't been paying attention to Bell but the thought seemed to stir something inside her.

'Pervert!' Was all she had to say to that.

She admired the store a little longer before she decided to depart.

"Thank you. Once again forgive my assumption I didn't mean…"

"It's okay, it's an easy mistake to make. Thank you for showing me around." Artemis gave a small bow, she had noticed Bell doing it after they left the cafe so she assumed it was proper manners.

"I hope you come again. I'm sure my grandmother would love to meet you."

Artemis smiled "As do I. I'll be sure to be back."

She left the store, and noticed Bell had wandered off. She looked around and noticed him resting on a bench nearby.

She made her way over to him. He hadn't noticed her yet. He was looking up at the sky.

"Head in the clouds it seems." She chuckled before reaching him.

Bell had grown bored keeping track of time and he found himself staring at the sky admiring the beautiful weather. However, he caught a bright shade of blue just under his line of sight. He lowered his head to see Artemis standing in front of him. His first reaction was to get up but he was surprised when she sat down next to him.

"Huh?" Was all he could manage to say getting a glance from Artemis.

"Am I not allowed to sit down?" She asked with an annoyed tone.

Bell jumped to his feet.

"No no it's just I thought you wanted to get back was all." Bell thought more about his plans but realised that he never set any specific time in stone.

Artemis let out an adorable giggle.

"Forgive me Bell I was only messing with you. Besides there's no rush, I'm enjoying our time together."

A little blush crept along Bell's face. "Really?"

She smiled brightly. "Of course now come sit I don't mind."

She tapped the bench next to her motioning him to sit next to her. Bell was taken aback. It was a small bench, and it just sat two people. It wasn't until he sat back down that he realised just how close they were.

'It's weird being this close and not having to comfort her.'

The subtle scent of flowers was still on her. It floated on the breeze that passed Bell, who felt all the more uncomfortable at that moment.

Artemis, on the other hand, was sitting quietly enjoying the cool breeze hitting her. The warm weather was both a blessing and a curse.

"Please tell me that the weather doesn't go from one extreme to another everyday?"

She looked at Bell. He gave a slight chuckle before shaking his head.

"Ha-ha don't worry it's normally quite nice but we seem to have hit a string of bad weather lately. Still it's always nice to have warmer weather…"

Bell drifted off… 'Spending so much time in the dungeon probably doesn't help…'

His constant time in the dungeon left him more used to the shift in climates. But even when he wasn't in the dungeon he spent little time worrying about things like the weather.

"Ugh the adventure life is one filled with sacrifice…" he sighed resting his head back on the stone wall behind him.

"Sounds like someone regrets his life choices?" He shook his head.

"Nah, even though it means giving up a few things I wouldn't trade it for the world."

Artemis smiled, the small grin on his face said a lot. "Tell me Bell. What's it like?"

He shifted his head slightly. 'Why would she want to know about that?'

He remained silent, but Artemis thought he was just avoiding her question.

"Fine don't tell me… it's probably boring any ways…"

She puffed out her cheeks and swung her head to the side. She crossed her arms and avoided reacting to the boy's chuckle.

"Wow, it's like you're a complete double of the goddess. Even got the mannerisms down." His comment hit just right.

"Y-you take that back I don't act like Hestia… she…"

Bell was trying his best to keep a straight face but found it hard with the mixture of anger and annoyance she was expressing.

'She looks really mad… but it's kind of cute…' He moved his eyes to the side as he felt his cheeks heat up slightly. 'She's really close!'

Artemis had leaned forward as a result of Bell's comment. What little distance they had before had all but disappeared. She hadn't noticed this, continuing her silent stare.

'Why, why do I end up in these situations!?' His gaze slowly returned to the blue haired girl who was now giving him the cold stare… But his gaze slowly drifted downwards.

He felt a force pushing down on his leg and he noticed her hand was pushing down as she supported herself.

'Stay focused Bell… stay focused.' He failed. His gaze drifted up. An unknown force egging him on. His eyes started to wander as he found himself examining her...

"Bell"

"Bell…"

"Bell!"

His eyes shot up. Her face said it all. The cold stare probably couldn't get much worse. But he knew it could…

"My eyes are up here! Care to explain what you were looking at!?"

Bell had fucked up. He could hear the old man laughing at him. He knew he was going to need all his power to get out of this one.

"I-I…"

Her eyes said death, but that wasn't what bothered Bell. No. Her hand was still on his leg… and he was feeling a great deal of pain!

"I'm sorry… it just sought of happ-ahh forgive me." He was trying but it was hard to apologise when she was unknowingly causing him pain.

"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't slap you!?"

Bell tensed up. "I'm sorry it's just.. you're so beautiful and…"

He closed his eyes and waited for her to strike him… seconds passed by and nothing he opened his eye to see.

*slap*

'Idiot! Pervert!' Her initial shock from his sudden reply had worn off but the embarrassment was still lingering. Her cheeks we're a bright red and felt like fire.

"Oww… I guess I deserve that." Bell cheek was a different kind of red. It stung painfully.

'Why did I say that of all things!'

*"Because it's true Bell.'* The voice of Zeus echoed in Bell head.

'Quiet old man your stupid pervert teachings is what got me in this mess!'

*'Don't try to deny it… besides I'm only part of your imagination you can't blame me for shit.'* The voice faded into nothing.

"I deserved that." Bell sighed before he attempted to stand up. As he did he felt a tug on his jacket. He looked to his right and became all kinds of confused.

"Were not done yet… Sit."

Bell felt his body act on it's own as it sat back down.

*slap*

Another strike this time on his right cheek.

"That's for early, don't think I haven't noticed you staring at my ass."

She probably couldn't tell but Bell was embarrassed.

*'Let's face the facts Bell it is a nice ass'* His grandfather's voice returned fuelling his already burning embarrassment. *'I mean she also has a nice pair of…'* Bell quickly flung the voice from his head…

"I'm surprised you noticed…"

'That's stupid of course she noticed!"

Artemis was a mix of emotions at that moment.

"Of course I noticed Bell as hunter and an Archer. Even though I can't see it I can feel your gaze!"

Bell just bowed his head in shame.

"I'm sorry god…"

"If your next word is goddess I swear I'll slap you so hard!"

"Sorry sorry force of habit…"

Bell cowered. 'Hestia was right she is scarier than most monsters.'

Artemis continued the cold stare but it was a different story in her head.

"Ughn why are all men such perverts… even after I told him what he'd get he still did it! Idiot!"

Two were quiet for a short spell. But even though Bell wanted to get up, find a corner and die of embarrassment he found himself unable.

'Does she not realise? Should I say something?" Bell worried saying something would make the situation worse.

"You still haven't answered my question Bell!?"

He turned to look at her. The cold stare had disappeared and it was replaced with a waiting gaze.

"Ughh what question?"

She gripped his arm.

"Seriously. Do you really not pay attention when you're staring at people!"

She let go of his arm. "The dungeon I asked you what it was like?"

"Ahh sorry but that's not something I can easily explain."

Bell did think about it but to explain it would take forever. But he would try anyway.

"Well I guess you could say it's like..."

"Stepping into a different world. It's cold and dangerous but like all things it has a certain beauty to it. Even some floors are a wonder to see…"

Bell still had only seen the upper floors, he and the others still made little progress instead training up in preparation.

Artemis sat quietly and listened.

"Even when I don't want to go into the dungeon it's almost like a new adventure. Every day is different. I might take a different path or explore a certain floor. Fighting monsters is like eating or breathing for me. It's second nature."

Bell continued after taking a moment.

"Still it's not something one can just explain. You have to see it, feel it and walk it to understand…"

Bell finished and waited for her to reply.

'He really does live in a different world… but he speaks with such joy and confidence.'

"Hmm I see. I guess I will have to see it for myself one day wouldn't you say?"

Bell nodded. "Yeah it is dangerous however. There's a reason only those blessed by the gods can enter freely…"

"Fear not Bell. I've fought monsters before and those weren't born yesterday. I'm sure I can handle myself." She said confidently.

Bell felt wanted to agree but a small side of him wanted to say no.

"Still it's best not to go alone…"

"Are you saying I can't handle it?"

Bell shook his head. "No, no I'm not saying that it's just…"

"Is it because I'm a girl? I can assure you I could do anything you could."

"I JUST WANT YOU TO BE SAFE!"

Bell rose his voice silencing the bluenette.

'He was just concerned for my safety.'

"I-I... No, your right Bell. I'm sorry it's just… I hate feeling unable to do something because I'm a girl or a goddess."

Bell shook his head. "It's okay. I know that feeling. I hated being told to give up. Nobody believed in me and all I wanted to do was prove myself…

Bell trailed off… Artemis could tell it was a hard topic for him. She rested a hand on his.

"And you did. Hestia saw something in you… Your determination and kindness."

Bell felt a warm feeling run through him.

"Yeah… I owe her a lot."

Artemis didn't press the topic. She could ask Hestia why later. For now she enjoyed this small moment of bonding.

"Bell? I know I've asked you to show me around the town… but if its not an issue can you also show me the dungeon? Only because I have no one else to…"

Bell just smiled and nodded.

"It would be my pleasure."

Bell gave a little bow.

"T-thank you Bell…"

The two went quiet. It didn't take long for Bell to quickly realise this.

"Shall we get going? We don't have to but it's still nice and we have a bit of time to explore if you'd like?"

Artemis thought about it. It hadn't been long since they sat down but she was curious to see more of the city. She jumped to her feet with renewed energy. Bell's smile grew as he got to his feet.

'I wonder where we should go now?' He thought as he started looking around trying to get an idea of where they were. It wasn't until he spotted a familiar face that he questioned his next move.

'Oh I forgot about Aiz…'

He watched her walking in their direction. He remembered he told her that he was taking Artemis back but at the time that wasn't the best option…

'What should I do?'

Artemis turned back to see Bell stood in place, the confused and worried look he was showing confused her. When she went to look it became obvious. The golden hair was a dead giveaway and Artemis remembered her name for their previous meetings.

'Aiz Wallenstein.' The name was becoming another common occurrence. From Bell and Hestia. She got the idea that Bell and her were close so it would be obvious why he'd speak about her. But Hestia showed a great dislike to her even. The mere mention of her name seemed to annoy her friend.

Artemis stood conflicted. It was because of her earlier accident that Bell had to leave her. But the two had been getting along so well that it had been a passing thought. She wanted to explore a little more but she felt guilty for taking up Bell's time.

Aiz had noticed Bell a second ago but as she got closer she noticed the blue hair of Artemis coming into view her mood soured slightly.

'I thought he was taking her back to Hestia…'

She hoped that she could get Bell to join her on her walk back to the hostess. But considering his current company that was becoming less likely.

'She always seems to pop up and ruin what little time I get with him! I hoped that little kiss on the cheek was nothing more than a simple thanks…'

Aiz had wanted to see for herself the extent of the damage done to Artemis. Bell was in quite the worried state before. Still when she saw the two of them she shifted the worry from her health to her actions. When she watched her kiss him it was like a knife to the chest. She tried to ignore the idea that it was anything more than a simple gesture. But she knew of the two's past.

'I don't want to lose him…'

She had spent the time calming her thoughts, once that was done she decided to walk round for a little bit before heading back.

She made her way towards Bell, a smile on her face.

"Hello Bell, I hope I'm not interrupting you?" She said in her usual emotionless tone. She gave a quick look to Artemis but quickly returned to Bell.

"Ohh no no we were just talking."

Aiz was silent. She seemed to be staring at him, Bell was left wondering why but before he could say anything she placed a hand on his cheek.

"Ouch"

Bell forgot that his cheeks were still hurting from Artemis's slaps.

"Did something happen? It's obvious you're in pain?"

Her tone changed to one of concern. She continued to hold his cheek while she waited for a reply.

"Ohh it was just a bug bite… This weather is making them a lot more common ha-ha…"

Bell didn't want to bring up the real reason. Both out of embarrassment and fear she would see him differently.

Aiz seemed to accept his answer with a smile. She gave a quick glance at Artemis who seemed to be observing the two from afar. The look she had said she knew something.

Artemis could feel Aiz looking at her. She could also tell it wasn't a nice one.

'I guess she's not stupid… But she doesn't know the reason…' She decided to look away and avoid causing trouble.

Bell was oblivious to the on goings smiling to himself that he got away with it. He looked at Aiz how was still holding his cheek. He raised his hand to remove it.

"So I take it you were heading back?"

Aiz realised Bell was talking to her and that he moved her hand but he still had hold of it. She looked down and then back up before nodding.

"Yes I was. I was going to ask if you'd like to join me, But I didn't realise you were preoccupied." She said not looking at Artemis but she knew it was about her.

'Seriously, why do I feel like I've wronged her in some way?' Artemis looked at the two, The first thing that caught her attention was the hand holding. The second was the smiles, the third the looks. It annoyed her.

'Guess you can't shake old habits.'

She guessed it was her goddess personality she had gotten so used to. The thought of a man and women together sickened her. But this was different.

'What is this feeling and why does it hurt?'

She tried to shake the feeling off and return to her normal non-concerned self. But the more she watched the two the more it bothered her.

"Oh well I was just about to show Artemis about…" Bell said. He wanted to join her but he didn't want to just leave Artemis. Plus he had just agreed to show here around so it did seem a little unfair to her.

Aiz looked to Artemis who was looking at Bell.

"I-Its okay Bell…"

Bell shifted his gaze to Artemis who was standing some distance from the two. She looked a little sad but didn't sound it.

"What did you say Artemis?"

Artemis gave a small smile. "Its okay. It's later than I expected I should be heading back to Hestia…"

She moved in the direction of the two. Bell turned to face her.

"Are you sure? If so then I'll take you back…"

Artemis shook her head. "That's kind of you Bell but I'll be fine. I know my way back from here…"

She passed by the two. Bell could only faintly catch the look on her face. Meanwhile Aiz was watching her. Artemis could feel it and it annoyed her. It was one she felt she didn't deserve. She found herself passing Bell and stopping.

"Thank you for today Bell, I enjoyed it." She gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before she left the two alone. Heading down the street and making a quick turn so she was out of view.

'Why did I do that just now?' She dropped back against the wall. She was just going to walk away but something felt wrong.

'I didn't need to do it… But he did help me a lot today so I guess he earned it.' She pressed the back of her head into the wall.

"I'm over thinking this. It's just a thank you for helping me… Still this feeling…" She took a couple minutes to think.

'I'm just being friendly toward him. I just don't have this kind of experience with men.' After coming to a reasonable explanation, she pulled herself away from the wall and started walking back towards the church.

'I got the distinct feeling that miss Wallenstein misunderstood my last gesture. I guess I'll have to ease her worries next time we meet…'

Bell was quite confused. First Artemis leaving suddenly. Second that random ass kiss on the cheek. Finally Aiz dragged him from the ear towards the Hostess.

"Ugh Aiz can you please let go. It feels like it's going to rip off if you pull it any harder!"

No matter how many times he said it, the more she seemed to pull.

'Why isn't she listening? Hell she hasn't even spoken since Artemis left…'

He continued to voice his plea to be let go but Aiz seemed adamant not to.

Aiz was paying little to no attention towards what he was saying instead she was just keeping herself focused.

'It's nothing… it meant nothing! She was just being friendly with him.' She continued to repeat the same thing over and over in her head.

'I let my personal feelings show just a minute ago. I suppose I'm just overthinking this. It's only been a few days surely they couldn't have gotten that close already?'

She took a deep breath before letting go of Bell's ear. Happy he was free of her vice grip fingers he made his was next to her.

"Was that necessary?"

She gave him a disapproving look. Before nodding and walking forward. He just gave up following obediently behind her.

Their walk towards the Hostess was a quiet one. Bell tried to make small talk but Aiz just walked silently in front as if she was in her own little world. No matter what Bell said seemed to get through.

Aiz on the other hand was deep in thought. While she didn't express it she was annoyed. 'These feelings… Why do I have them?'

She thought back, it was strange her first meeting with the boy behind her was one of those unique situations. If she hadn't have been there he'd probably be dead and she'd have been none the wiser. But she was there and from that day he has proven time and time again he is different. The way he fights the way he adapts, even in with her sparing she can't believe he could just be a mere level two. She didn't need to turn around, her enhanced senses could tell he was still behind her.

'Even that goddess deemed you worthy…'

That's when it started. Even though at the time she shook it off, that night he drew the spear. She was happy for him, Lefiya had shown a great dislike to this fact but still, she was happy even if she didn't let it be shown. Who would have guessed that the prize would be so bittersweet?

She remembered it the moment she appeared, one of the three great virgin goddess's Artemis. Aiz cared little about her past or her reason at the time. She just watched her, a goddess that walked in the moonlight, what a sight. However the moment she embraced Bell things changed. She felt her heart sink, her enjoyment for Bell soured and most of all she felt anger.

After that she and the rest of the Loki Familia dispersed for the night, it wouldn't be till later that she learned of what happened. News from Hermes to the other gods explaining what happened that fateful night. Her death, Bell's suffering. It wouldn't be till their next meeting that she truly got the picture.

Still, she couldn't understand these feelings she felt sorry for him, but more than that she wanted to comfort him, Riviera told her time and time again that obsessing over the boy would have this effect. 'I'm guessing that witch was right with all her teasing…'

But now she was all alone. No Loki to stop her but also no Riveria to help her. While she wanted to find her Familia it was a wasted effort, nobody knows what happened and they all just seemed to disappear. She was lonely and the only comfort she had was Bell.

'I promise I will find out what happened… But I still have Loki's orders, if Hestia or Artemis have anything to do with what happened then I won't hesitate to drag them to the guild for questioning gods or not!'

She didn't want to believe that Bell or Hestia had anything to do with her Familia disappearing. But with the sudden reappearance of Artemis and everything revolving around what Hestia knew she couldn't drop the fact.

'Bell has to know something? I have to go about it carefully however, I don't want to risk him saying something that would give my intentions away… Or worse still ruin the friendship we've been building…'

She slowed her pace down, to Bell speed. Once the two were at the same pace Aiz turned to look at him.

"Sorry about earlier. I just wanted to get a move on, it was just something Riveria does to me..."

Bell just sighed as he realised she meant dragging him by the ear and not that she had been ignoring him for the last twelve minutes. He just shook his head.

"It's fine, no harm done, besides it is getting late, I'd guess the hostess would start getting busy soon?"

She nodded as she had gotten used to the hustle and bustle that the hostess seemed to thrive on. Sleeping was hard the first few nights but she quickly got used to it.

"It certainly never stops until it closes, I'm amazed they can do it every night…"

Bell laughed having thought the same thing on many occasions. He was also surprised she was starting to talk more. He hadn't noticed it as much the last few days but she certainly had opened up more to him.

The two continued the conversation until they reached the hostess. The sun had finally begun to set and the lights were shooting out of every window illuminating the otherwise blackened street. A beacon to all who pass by. The sounds of happy patrons could be heard loudly as songs were sung and mugs clanged.

"It really never changes huh?" Bell smiled before the two entered and were greeted by a cheerful Syr.

"Bell it's nice to see you again I hope your hungry?" Syr leaned in close, her smiling face getting closer to his. Her grey eyes staring him down.

"Uhh Hi Syr… Umm." Bell wasn't sure how to respond. The girl had a unique charm to her, one that on many occasions he got to witness first hand. By night's end she could have had the entire pubs male customers spending a small fortune.

"I'll take that as a yes then, and it's nice to see your still cheerful Aiz, as requested I saved you a table."

Aiz smiled as she and Bell were escorted to one of the smaller side tables. Once they sat down she grabbed them from the evening menu. Bell looked around the crowded hostess, all the members were running around in each and every direction. He spotted Ryuu in the back and she gave him a slight wave before returning to work.

Syr soon returned with drinks, something Bell had gotten used to when he came with Lili and Welf. He didn't need to ask any more, they just brought it any ways.

"Here we go. So any ideas what you'd like? I can recommend the roast its been quite popular today." Syr pointed to what might as well have been the second most expensive item and no doubt it would be a feast. Bell could tell that she wasn't lying about it being popular mainly because she probably recommended it to no end.

"Well if you'd prefer something you could always go for the surprise stew?" Bell looked confused to her as he couldn't find it on the menu also the name didn't give him a lot to go on.

"What is surprise stew?" Bell only watched as her smile grew larger. Which normally wasn't a good sign.

"Well it wouldn't be a surprise if I told you would it?"

Bell gave in and just went for the safe option, While the food at the hostess is some of the best you just never know what experimental dish they have hiding in the back for the unprepared.

"I'll have the same please." Aiz spoke up when Syr looked towards her. After that she disappeared into a crowd of drunken adventures. Bell sighed again as he realised that he probably got played into making a decision.

"So Bell what are your plans for the rest of the week?" Aiz spoke up over all the noise.

Bell shrugged. "I have no idea any more, I wanted to head to the dungeon but Lili and Welf are out on a job for Welf's goddess. But even without them I'm looking after Artemis for the time being."

Aiz shook her head. "To so casually name drop a goddess that's not your own, should I assume you two get along well?" She hoped that getting him to talk on the subject would reveal more details.

'I just hope he doesn't think it strange that I'm taking a sudden interest in her.'

"Well I suppose so, she's still kind of a stranger but yeah we get on well enough."

"Well enough to be on a first name basis?" Aiz pushed, curious to learn more about the two's current relationship.

Bell was surprised by her sudden interest. "Well that was by her request… I suppose I'm just getting used to saying it more. What's with the sudden questions?"

Aiz went back on the defensive. "Ohh no reason I was just curious you seemed to be hanging around her a lot I was just curious about your relationship?"

Strange was the first thing that came to him. "Friends!" He blurted out which got him many stares of not just her but people nearby. He quickly returned to his normal composure.

"I was just asking, I didn't think you two would be anything more than that." Aiz was somewhat relieved by his remark but something seemed a little off. 'Why was he so quick to answer and in such a manner?'

Bell tried to change the topic as best he could. "Well like I said we're just friends, as much as a goddess and mortal can be. " It was at that moment that he remembered the events involving said goddess. He was lucky to still be alive let alone on somewhat good terms with her.

"And that kiss on the cheek?"

Bell felt the blush creep up on his cheeks. "A gesture of good will."

Aiz looked unimpressed by his response but dropped it before it could spoil the mood.

"Well she seems a nice enough person, I must admit she seems a lot different in person then from the stories I've heard about her. A goddess of purity and chastity who hates men and strikes down perverts, a woman of such standing as to be admired."

Bell rubbed the back of his head. 'Trust me you have no idea how close to true those stories could be.'

"So she and Hestia are good friends from what I hear? I mean other than being two of the three I mean?"

"Yes, they go way back from what goddess has told me, but she is quite adamant I get to know her myself. I suppose these last few days have given me a good idea about her, but it still feels like I know so little about her."

"I see well if you don't mind me asking, do you know why she's here? Again from my understanding her Familia works outside Orario. It's just strange to see her without them?"

Bell was being cautious now. While his knowledge on the subject was limited he didn't want to cause an uproar with the goddesses plan.

"I-I don't really know to be honest. All I know is she just randomly showed up one day, other than that she's here for a few days till she moves on.

'Which I kind of hope she doesn't.' He thought but didn't say.

Aiz just gave up knowing that it was unlikely that Bell knew anything and decided to just enjoy the rest of the night, alone.

"Well I suppose that answers my question, still I think that's enough talk about the gods for one day don't you think?"

Bell agreed and the two started to chat about random topics until their food arrived which could be described as a small feast in itself. While the two worked through their meal Bell couldn't help but hear a conversation from one of the nearby tables. He looked to see a small bunch of adventures all male and quite drunk which also meant they were quite loud.

"How's the face?" The first man spoke looking towards his friend that seemed to be bruised to no end. It looked like a Minotaur had gone to work on it.

"Ugh What the fuck do you think idiot, I can barely see!" He spoke up and the anger seemed to explode outwards through his voice.

The third man could be seen laughing his head off at the sight of his team mate. "Well that's what you get for acting like that in front of a lady. You had it coming."

"Can you blame him, come on you saw her didn't you, damn she was something else, she puts some of the goddess around here to shame."

"Oh I'm not denying she wasn't a fine piece of ass but trying to cop a feel wasn't the smartest of moves now was it."

"Well I know that now, I wasn't expecting the bitch to catch on till after the fact. Agh fuck sake don't you guys have any spare potions?"

Bell could only chuckle as he heard the three talking. 'Serves him right he had it coming!'

"Well I know one thing If I ever see that blue-haired bitch again I'll make sure she regrets it! Might even have a little fun if the opportunity arises." Just as the man said it Bell suddenly realised who they could be referring to. While he dreaded to think that Artemis got into trouble after leaving him and Aiz. He turned his head slightly and made a mental note of the three faces.

'Best keep a close eye on her these next few days.' Bell's mode dropped after that, and he found himself worrying more and more that something more might have happened. Aiz quickly caught onto this.

"Bell is everything okay?" Aiz moved a hand forward only for Bell to move it away and continue eating.

"Yeah I'm just a little tired. It's been quite the day. Sorry about this." Bell was genuinely worn out. But he didn't want to leave without finishing, so he made an attempt to finish his meal.

"Bell I know you said you'd be watching the goddess the next few days but if possible would you like to head into the dungeon at some point? I know you said you wanted to but lacked your usual team." She tried to salvage some sort of time for them to meet up. Even if it was in a few days.

Bell smiled as he polished off the meat. "Of course I'm not certain when, however but first chance I get I'll let you know." Bell knew full well it all depended on Hestia and the fact that Artemis was possibly the eye of some unsavoury types he couldn't leave her alone.

Syr and Ryuu came over towards the two just as Bell was planning to leave for the night, she was carrying another mug of ale but Bell didn't want it.

"Bell leaving so soon? I thought you'd be here for the night?" Syr said in a teasing tone and winking at Aiz.

"Yeah sorry I'm feeling quite tired and I have stuff to do in the morning so I'm gonna head back. Thanks for the food by the way it was delicious." Bell said, bowing to the two waitress's.

"I'll be sure to let mama know, It's sad that you're leaving so soon, Aiz isn't the only one wanting to spend some time with you." Her comment made Aiz blush and Bell could feel his cheeks heating up.

"O-ohh sorry I'll be sure to pop by at some point and say hi. Have a goodnight you three." Bell said before bowing again and thanking Aiz for the night,

"Goodnight Cranel safe journey." Ryuu said as he made his way out of the hostess. Once he was out of sight the three looked at one another.

"So I take it you two had a good day?" Syr said placing the drinks down onto the table.

"Partly… It got slightly interrupted." Syr looked at the sword princess quickly putting two and two together.

"Ahh I see, he ended up getting swept away by the goddess I take it? You really do have poor luck when it comes to that boy."

"I'm sure It was more complicated than that, but come Syr we should get back to work, we don't need mama on our back all night." Ryuu disappeared into the back.

"She's right about both things. Keep it up Aiz I'm sure if Bell wants to be with you that the two of you will be seeing each other more." With that she also left Aiz to herself.

Artemis had returned back to the church before it got too dark. She was slightly annoyed about her earlier run in but quickly removed the thought from her head as she entered.

"Hestia, its Artemis I'm back."

She quickly removed her cloak and made her way downstairs. When she entered the room she was quickly embraced by Hestia that jumped at her from a distance. Artemis could only laugh at her friend's idea of a greeting.

"Ha-ha come on Hestia let me go. Seriously you're crushing me."

Hestia let go and quickly looked her friend over.

"No Bell?" Hestia's first thought was to question where her only child was but she remembered that he had left early that morning.

Artemis shook her head. "No I met him earlier in the day but he ended up leaving with… Aiz I believe… Yes that's it Aiz."

Hestia enthusiasm seemed to drop at that name drop. "Wallenstein! I swear that boy doesn't know what's good for him!"

Artemis took notice of Hestia's dislike of Aiz. She remembered she showed dislike before but she never fully knew why? "You really don't like that girl do you?"

"She's one of Loki's and besides she's just a distraction to the boy, Bell can't seem to get it in his head. Seriously what does that boy see in that girl?" Hestia grew more and more annoyed as she was left to her own thoughts.

"The two seem to get along quite well in my opinion."

Hestia shook her head. "Of course you'd say that. Seriously my precious Bell blindly following that girl, sometimes I wished he see…" She stopped not wanting to bring up her own feelings for the boy.

"See? Hestia, I hope you're not jealous of the two?" That comment got her a glare of Hestia. A dead give away that she was right. Artemis could only let her mouth drop.

"Seriously? Y-you can't be serious? You've never shown that kind of emotion before why now?" Artemis could only guess as to why her friend had such a dramatic change.

Hestia knew this conversation would rear its head at some point. 'Might as well get this out the way now.' She moved to the sofa and laid down.

"Yes for a time I did have feelings for Bell." Just that comment alone was enough to send Artemis into a confused state.

"But it's you. You're a goddess you don't just change that easily!" She was surprised. Surprised her friend had fallen for someone. But what was more surprising was it was her child of all people. "I just don't understand. Of all the time you were in heaven how many times did you reject someone? And now you choice your child of all people."

Hestia shook her head. "Some things aren't easy to explain, Artemis. When I first arrived here I tried and failed so many times to create a Familia… I was demotivated and was close to giving up. Then I met Bell, he was just like me unable to find a place to call home. When he agreed to join me I was overcome with joy and love. It was a feeling like none other from that day I have held those feelings close to my heart."

Artemis listened to her friend. Just like that night with her Familia she wondered what it would be like to feel love. She could tell Hestia was telling the truth, she had seen it once before. The joy in her voice, the twinkle in her eyes.

'Even Hestia was able to change and find love… I wonder if I could ever find…' She lowered her head on that thought. She may not be a goddess any more but her instinct told her to avoid such thoughts. Yet her curiosity was getting the better of her.

"Wait, you said you had feelings for him for a time? Yet you also said you'd keep those feelings close to your heart? Doesn't that contradict what you said?" Artemis was surprised to see Hestia with a smile on her face followed by a slight laugh.

"Ohh Artemis you really have no clue do you? Then again you always were the most stubborn of us. I learned that Bell was never going to return my feelings and to be honest I was okay with it…"

Artemis watched as her friend stopped smiling her eyes showing signs of tears. Artemis moved over towards her friend offering her a hand of comfort.

"You don't seem to be okay with it?" Artemis watched her friend as she slowly regained her composure.

"I'll be the first to admit that it hurt. But that's love. You keep loving them no matter what. I just want what's best for Bell more than anything else in this world."

Artemis remained quiet. To know her friend loved someone this much. It was a foreign concept to her but she could tell, that it was something Hestia cherished most.

"I-Is it...What's it like?" Artemis wasn't sure how to ask such a question. However it made Hestia chuckle.

"Of all the people I've known I'd never imagine that you'd ever ask such a question?" Hestia remembered their conversation in the tent. She was shocked her friend had started to fall in love. It was unlike her and now she was starting to reawaken those feelings.

Hestia laughed. "There may be hope for you yet. For once I'm not gonna tell you I'll let you find out for yourself and experience it first hand."

Artemis looked at her friend confused. She couldn't even comprehend falling in love with someone but the very thought seemed to place itself firmly in the back of her head.

Hestia stretched her arms out. "Ahh, so where did you head out to by the way you've been gone most of the day?"

"Well I just went for a walk…"

"And," Hestia asked, certain that wasn't the full extent of her day.

"And I may have gotten into a bit of trouble." Artemis was trying to avoid telling Hestia she nearly ended up dying.

Hestia raised an eyebrow. "What kind of trouble. You didn't punch a god in the face?"

She shook her head. "No no Nothing like that, If you must know Bell sorted it out so there nothing to worry about."

Hestia was still not satisfied. "Bell got involved... Now I am curious just what you were up to?"

She stared her down, a simple trick she used to do in heaven when Artemis refused to let something slip. She just hoped it still worked.

Artemis hated that look. She ignored it for a time but even she could tell Hestia wasn't gonna give up. "It won't work, Hestia so give up."

*Stare*

'Seriously I had hoped she would have dropped that childish act!'

*Stare*

"...Okay, okay I'll tell you just stop that. He saved me from falling off the wall Happy?"

Hestia didn't know what to say. 'This is why I need Bell to watch her…'

"Well I'm glad you're okay," She said, bringing her into a hug. "You were lucky Bell was there when he was otherwise…

She stopped and smiled. She was glad Bell had been there if she had lost Artemis again she'd have blamed herself. She let go after Artemis quickly tapped her back and tried to shake free from Hestia's crushing hug.

"Hestia please I'm okay you don't need to worry." She said but Hestia just shook her head.

"You say that but what if Bell wasn't there? You could have died and what good would that have done? We don't even know what will happen to you!" Hestia's words were stern but she had a good point.

Artemis sighed. "Hestia I intend to live this life the way I want to. If that means putting myself in risky situations then so be it. What difference is it to going into the dungeon?"

"The difference is that you'd at least have the god's blessing, which is a hell of a lot more then you have known."

Artemis smiled. "So your opinion remains the same huh. You want me to join your Familia?"

Hestia nodded but she was not smiling. "Of course, I don't want to force you into the decision, it is your life. But like you said you take too many risks. And as you've seen it almost got you killed."

"That was an unfortunate situation nothing more!" She said quickly.

"Accident, mistake, even bad timing, what does it matter? It proves my point. Artemis your my friend, I want you to live your life but I also want you to survive. But right now you're not even sure are you?"

Hestia knew she wasn't sure what she wanted to do. If Artemis really wanted to leave she would have told her the moment she mentioned joining. The fact she needed to leave to think about it said a thousand words.

"Ughh I'll admit I have thought about it, I've even weighed up the pros and cons of both. It's just…"

Hestia smiled at her friend. "You don't know what to do and that's fine. Even though I want you to join I will still honour your decision."

The two embraced, the heart warming hug seemed to cut through the previous conversation. Once the two had enough they returned to the bed to talk.

"Soo other than nearly falling to your death what else did you do?"

Artemis felt a small blush creep up as she remembered the day's events. The fact she was blushing at all was cause for concern. "Well after that Bell and I talked for awhile…"

"About?" Hestia said leaning forward.

"Nothing of importance, I guess you could say I was getting to know him better."

Hestia leaned even closer, giving a curious look. "And?"

Artemis smiled. "I can see why you hold him so high. He even treated me to lunch." Artemis decided not to tell her about her emotional breakdown in fear of suffocation.

"Ohh I see and how was your little date?" Hestia teasing and got the perfect reaction out of the other virgin goddess. Artemis was visibly embarrassed by the remark but her anger started to poke through.

"Need I remind you that I'm…"

"A goddess of chastity but the fact still remains." Hestia quickly turned it back on her. She was laughing on the inside. Her and Bell seemed to end up in these situations without outside help. Even if Artemis was stubborn she was sure that hard shell would soon be cracked.

"Hestia enough just because you feel for him doesn't mean I will!"

'Ohh but you already did that's the best part.' Hestia had to hold herself back from laughing.

"Fine fine I won't mention it again. So moving on to what you are doing tomorrow?"

Artemis shrugged. "Well, I was hoping Bell would show me the city." When she finished she could see Hestia visibly holding back the laughter. It didn't take long for her to burst.

"Ha-ha hoping for another dat…" Hestia was cut when Artemis threw a pillow at her, the soft yet fast object caused Hestia to be knocked back falling off the bed. An evil laugh could be heard from the floor.

"Ohh so that's how you want to play it." Hestia jumped to her feet as she returned the pillow to her friend with the same amount of force.

This went on for an hour or soo until the two collapsed from exhaustion. Artemis quickly found herself sleepy and proceeded to wrap herself into the covers. Meanwhile Hestia waited for Bell to return…

Thats the end of the chapter I hope you enjoyed it. It took a bit longer what with work and all. But her it is chapter 30... Gods this is gonna be so long! But that's just how it goes.

Now I'll admit I'm taking some liberties with characters. Aiz in particular. I know that at the time its supposed to be based she really hasn't had much time to interact with him. I say fuck that. Because if I spent the time building her relationship up the same I'm doing with Artemis well. Lets say I don't have the time to do that. As such she for reasons ill later explain the story is set over a longer stretch of time. Bell is older and because the only information I have on Artemis is the movie and the two movie lightnovels well let's I'm kind of going off how people mentioned her. But I'm also trying to incopirate her movie self as best as I can.

Hestia getting over Bell is well I've mentioned it at the start of this story. Don't like it well sorry this isn't a herem. At the end of the day I believe Hestia would accept the twos relationship especially after the light novels. Does she still love him? Yes. But she wont let personal felling spoil her friendship. Also Hestia and Hermes match making is like fire and ice.

Thankyou to all that commented on the last chapter I appreciate it. Wasnt sure how it would go down but I'm glad it was well received. As always please do comment. Good, bad or just general advice. Trust me I fear how long this is gonna be so the more I improve the better... Even if I am stubborn.
