Artemis slowly made her way downstairs. Her talk with Hestia had been a nice change. She was never going to get used to her friends teasing, but she did have a good point. Like it or not she was getting used to the boy. Her mind was conflicted while her body had simply enjoyed it.

'He's been so kind to me. This is the second time I've questioned him, thinking he had some ulterior motive.'

She only had to look at her bow to smile. It was nice to have one again, even if she wasn't going to use it for a while. But the other reason for her smile was how she got it. However, before she could recall the events, she had reached the door.

'I wonder if he'll be upset with me? No, Hestia didn't give me any reasons to think that…' She placed a hand on the handle but stopped.

'Just go in and apologise, it's simple…' she kept telling herself this, but she couldn't put those thoughts into action.

Letting go of the handle she stepped back. Doubt started to set in.

"What if he doesn't forgive me? What if he sees me differently… I just ignored him for no reason…"

She was about to head back upstairs and wait till later. But a sound from the other side of the door caused her to jump. A light now shined in the dark stairwell, the faint warmth from the room fought the cold away. She was looking at the floor, but she realised that he was standing in front of her.

Silence…

"B-Bell I'm…"

She didn't raise her head. Part of her couldn't. The other part wanted to look up and express herself. It was hard, hard to admit she was wrong, that a boy could cause such conflict.

"I'm sorry"

"Huh?"

She threw her head up and looked at the boy that had dropped his head to his knees. She stood confused, unsure why on earth he was apologising to her. It was her that should be apologising.

'Did Hestia not tell him… Surely he doesn't still think that he's caused this, does he?'

Bell just stood with his head down and waited for her to speak. He couldn't help but take some responsibility for his actions. She was still getting used to her new circumstances, moreover she was still getting used to him and vice versa. However, she remained silent and he decided to continue.

"I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable or useless at times today. It wasn't my intention, I-I…"

He wasn't sure how to continue. He knew what he wanted to say, he was just worried about her well being. However, his previous actions had him doubting that. He enjoyed her touch and smile. He wanted to keep her safe but he forgot that it wasn't needed in that situation.

He raised his head a little. "I should have realized you can handle yourself, I know the frustration of not being able to do anything or not being allowed to. Also, I'm sorry for holding your hand before, I know you don't like being touched…"

He had said what he wanted to say. The fact she didn't say anything just made it all the worse. He was prepared to head back in and spend the night being ignored. But when a warm touch grasped his hand, he stopped. That warmth then wrapped itself around it. He looked and realised it was Artemis stopping his hand from moving.

"Idiot…"

She said her voice was a mixture of sad and joyful. Dropping her bow as she pulled the boys towards her and brought him closer. His eyes widened as she brought him into a hug. Her actions weren't of her mind's decision, no it was her body. It moved on its own. It shivered the moment he got close, yet it settled down as his warmth hit her. Her mind was crying out for her to let go. But for the first time in probably forever she ignored it.

"If anyone should be apologising...It's me Bell. You've done nothing wrong. Ever since I've met you I've doubted you as a person and your motivations. I questioned everything you did even, after you had more than proved yourself. You saved my life, gave me a new outlook on my situation. You stood up for me even when it would only cause you trouble. Even when you probably have better things to do, you're forced to watch over me and you've never once complained."

Like the day before she was opening up to him, while last time it was about her frustrations on her situation now it was her thoughts on the boy. Her confusion when it came to trusting him and the realization that he was just a kind person all along. Her hug tightened she didn't realise it was just her body reacting to her emotions.

'Artemis…' He watched the girl.

Here she was apologising to him for the very things he thought caused her to be angry. He realised that they were both blaming themselves for the same things. His hands pressed against her back and he brought her closer. This was a similar situation to the one they shared in the market. However this time Bell didn't hold back. The cold air coming from upstairs was enough to heighten his senses to her body's heat. Her warmth permeated into his body grabbing hold and not letting go.

'Why does this feel so nice?'

His brain asked the question yet his body reacted with a tighter hold. There was no space between them. He could feel her soft hair under his chin and faint hint of lavender. Her frame seemed to fit snug in his arms. Her breasts pressed against his chest and felt like two soft pillows. He was content to stay like this all night.

Artemis was also deep in thought. Just like the boy holding her, she was enjoying this little moment. Or at least her body was. Her mind screamed at her for letting it last this long. It wasn't like when she hugged Hestia. His hold was stronger yet strangely calming. The cold made latch onto his warmth. A small blush warmed her face as she realised just how close she was to him.

It was out of character for her but she didn't care. She rested her head against his chest, in the market she pulled away as she listened to her rational side, as she always did, but this time she listened to her instinct. It just wanted something warm to hold and Bell was like a small fire. As her head pressed against his chest she felt it. A heartbeat slow and steady but that only grew faster. She could feel her own heart beating faster and faster, and she didn't know why.

They both knew they couldn't stay like this no matter how nice it felt. Bell wanted nothing more but to enjoy this peaceful moment, however, he realised he hadn't checked the pot for a while.

'If I wait any longer the bottom will start to burn...But I think ill go hungry to stay like this for a few more minutes.'

He sighed as reason took back over. He had to let go but with great displeasure.

Artemis shivered slightly. Her body had gotten used to the newfound warmth and it was slowly moving away. She admitted to herself that she was a little disappointed. But her brain soon put an end to those thoughts.

"Come on no point standing out here all night. You look cold let me get you a blanket or something."

He had felt her shiver the moment he let go and he realised she was probably freezing in that dress.

Artemis was about to tell him not to worry, but he still had hold of her hand and he brought her into the warm home once again her body just went with it. Sitting her down on the sofa he rushed to one of the cupboards and brought out a thick woollen blanket. It was usually saved for winter which was slowly approaching. Artemis blushed as he wrapped the warm blanket around her. She didn't say anything, instead she enjoyed the moment.

Bell meanwhile collected her things. Which included her bow and quiver which she had dropped to hug him, and her bags which mainly contained books she brought. Bring them over to the table placing the bow against the wall and the books in the corner. He quickly stirred the pot and tasted the stew. Happy it wasn't too far off he turned his attention back to the blue-haired girl.

"It's not too far off another hour or so, its rabbit is that okay?"

Bell was hoping to get beef but he had to cheap out and go rabbit. If he realised he didn't have to pay straight away he'd have done it in a heartbeat.

"Ahh yum it been a while since I last had it. We used to have it on the rare occasion someone managed to catch one. Which was usually me."

She smiled resting her head on the side of the cushion.

"We used to take turns hunting, the girls were good but they always fell short, before to long the decision to team up in an attempt to beat me. They never could but we also would have a good laugh afterword."

Bell listened to her story.

"It sounds fun."

She nodded to his comment.

"Ohh it was, I remember one night a pack of wild wolves had been spotted nearby." She leaned forward. "I remember Rethusa and the others declaring that this would be the day they'd finally beat me. They almost did as well, unfortunately, I was the better shot." Her smile faded slightly. "I remember after we all returned the cheers they had amongst themselves. Even in defeat, they managed to find a plus side…"

Bell noticed the tears starting to form in her eyes. He brought himself closer to her and placed a hand on hers.

"You miss them don't you?"

She nodded but continued to hold back the tears. "I hate to admit it Bell. But I know I'll never see them again, I know Ill never have the opportunity to make those memories."

"Don't think like that, for all you know they're out looking for you as we speak." Bell squeezed her hand trying to reassure her.

"I-I wish I could Bell." She couldn't hold it back the tears started to escape her eyes and she fell into a full-blown cry.

Bell could only watch. He had never had to go through anything like that. When he first heard about her Familia he tried to keep her optimistic. But he was finally getting the picture. They weren't just a goddess and her Familia, no they were her friends, family and confidants.

He remembered the loss he felt when his grandfather died. He had gone to the next town over to trade something only to come back to find him lying silently on his bed. When one of the locals had said he passed away he grieved for days. A friend of his took him in it was the worst few days of his life. He never felt more alone. After he pulled himself together he promised to become a great adventurer.

"Hey look at me."

He said in a soft voice, Artemis did so. Her eyes were red while her cheeks were a watery mess. Bell held her hand tightly.

"I will never fully comprehend what you've lost. But I do know it what it's like to lose someone close. The memories both good and bad, the sound of their voice. All the regrets and all things you wished you could have said or done." he could feel his own tears starting to form.

"If they could see you now they'd no doubt tell you to look to the future and not dwell in the past. This I'm certain of."

Artemis felt the boys red eyes stare into hers, she could see his pain and sadness while no doubt he could see hers as well.

"I'm here for you Artemis. I want to help you. Whether it be a friend, ally or just a shoulder to cry on."

He let go of her hand and gave her a small hug. At this point, he felt she needed some alone time.

"Foods gonna be another hour. But if you want to get some rest I'll keep it warm?"

He was about to leave when Artemis grabbed his shirt.

"Thank you, Bell, for everything these last few days…"

Bell smiled to himself, still staring away from her.

"Your welcome Artemis."

With that, he went back to his household duties. Artemis meanwhile took the time to compose herself as best she could. Her heart knew what she said was true that they were probably dead or had moved on with their lives. She watched Bell from time to time, as he ran about for an hour cleaning and sorting the small home.

'Could I live such a life?' she dwelled on the question for but a moment before shaking it from her brain.

The time quickly passed, and Bells final check on the stew came at the right time. After tasting it for seasoning, he spooned some into bowls for him and Artemis.

"Hmm smells lovely" she happily accepted the bowl and prepared to dig in.

He handed her a spoon and went to get his. She took a spoonful it was still hot but she was careful. Her tongue was the first to react, warm thick flavourful liquid coated her mouth. It was meaty, salty but also rich and slightly sweet from the vegetables. The chunks of rabbit had started to break apart so they seemed to melt in her mouth and gave very little resistance.

'It's sooo good!' Even her brain couldn't deny that Bell was an excellent cook.

"How is it?" He asked as he sat down at the table to eat.

Artemis looked at him from the corner of her eye.

"It's good… Umm Bell would you like me to join you?" She noticed Bell sitting alone at the table.

Bell smiled but shook his head. "Nah you don't have to do that besides its warmer for you so don't worry about me." Bell continued to eat but Artemis wasn't done talking.

"In that case. would you like... To…" She paused and turned her head so she wasn't looking at him. "Join me?"

Bell nearly choked. His body was trying to catch up with his mind. Artemis didn't see this and he was grateful.

'Join her as in sit next to her? Would… would that be okay?'

He gave it a minutes thought but in the end, his body had already made up his mind for him. He got to his feet and made his way over to the couch. He didn't say anything instead quietly sitting on the end as he continued to slowly eat his stew. He didn't know why he was so worried about her request.

Artemis meanwhile was nearing the end of her stew, Bell noticed this and was about to ask if she wanted another bowl. He himself had barely eaten part of him wasn't that hungry at the moment. But to his surprise, she got to he feet and shifted the blanket aside.

He was about to interject but remembered that she did like to do things on her own. He quietly looked at his stew and took another bite. Trying to keep his mind focused. She opened the pot up and helped herself to some more stew, before returning to her warm seat. She felt a cold chill in the room. The fire from the pot had all but died and the residual heat only served to keep the food warm. The cold became more noticeable as she stepped away from the pot.

She sat down and placed her stew on the side while she reapplied the blanket to herself. However, she looked at Bell he was only wearing a thin shirt. 'Surely he can't be warm in just that?'

"Bell aren't you cold?" She gave him a concerned look. He simply shook his head, but she could see him shaking a little. He was obviously colder then he had led her to believe.

Artemis unwrapped the blanket and tried to offer it to Bell. Who no surprise tried to reject her offer.

"No no, it's fine. I'm fine you keep it."

He wasn't too cold, the dungeons had worse temperatures then this at times, and the bowl in his hands offered a small amount of warmth as did its contents. When she drew back he thought that was it. But.

"Nonsense your no better dressed than me, you'll catch a cold and I won't be looking after you if you get sick!"

She had suddenly come back with a loud and commanding voice, something that threw Bell off guard.

"No seriously I'm…. F-fine."

She didn't give him the opportunity to voice his opinion. She had to move closer to him due to the limited size of the blanket. She split it between them fifty-fifty. However, she had become noticeably embarrassed by her decision. Bell meanwhile had lost all thoughts as his body was renewed by the warmth that surrounded him.

"Y-ou didn't have too." He looked away and smiled.

"Hestia didn't tell you I was stubborn, did she? No surprise she probably didn't want to admit she lost almost all our little arguments."

Bell laughed but only a little he had heard a few of Hestia's lectures so hearing that she used to lose to the girl beside him was a little scary.

"But enough about that, I'd like to know how you became such a good cook?" She leaned forward to grab her stew. A small smile as she took in the rich smell.

"I'm not that good." He tried to laugh it off finishing his own bowl off before placing it on the side. Artemis shook her head.

"I disagree I believe you're an excellent cook. Stop dragging yourself down. Modesty is okay but don't let it subtract from what you're good at. This is praise coming from me so I won't have you lowering your self-esteem!" She looked him in the eyes. "Or perhaps you'd like to challenge my judgment?"

Bell knew two things. One she was scary at that moment and two he wasn't gonna win. He dropped his head and accepted her praise.

"Thank you."

"See was that so hard. Now come on I asked you a question and I expect an answer."

She leaned closer to hear his response. Bell, on the other hand, tried to ignore the girl's closeness to him. He also found his view wandering downward. He mentally scolded himself as he looked away.

"I-I suppose… Well, I already told you I learned to cook from my grandfather? She nodded. "Well, you see he wasn't really that good at it." He rubbed his cheek "Well no correction he could barely cook anything that you'd call edible."

*'Oi just because you didn't like it doesn't mean it was inedible!'*

He shook that memory from his head.

"So I just learned, after I started to get the hang of it he'd make me cook for the two of us, kind of glad he did, to be honest nobody's cooking was as bad as his."

Artemis joined him in laughing. "Well at least it didn't destroy your taste buds I'd hate to think what its tasted like. I think it would be a loss to the world."

Bell blushed at her kind words but quickly composed himself.

"I've also wondered Bell do you like being an adventurer?"

She had heard him talk about his time in the dungeons but she never got an answer as to if he himself enjoyed it or just put up with it.

"Yeah, yeah I do… I mean it's hard and demanding at times, heck when I first started I could barely hold a weapon properly." He leaned into the cushions and relaxed a little. "I remember being so scared and alone. But I had someone to fight for and it pushed me."

Artemis could guess who he meant. "Hestia?"

Bell smiled "Yeah to be honest its a couple of people but she was the catalyst."

Artemis smiled "She really is kind isn't she?"

"Yeah she is, I remember coming home beaten and bloodied and she'd scold me saying I need to be more careful next time. I never was." a small chuckle escape him. "But yeah I've met so many new faces and friends I couldn't imagine a different life."

Artemis nodded. "That's nice to know you enjoy it, to be honest, I couldn't imagine Hestia forcing you to do anything you didn't want to."

"I have to ask because I'm curious and a tad bit nosey but what do hope to achieve from all this?"

Bell was a little unsure about how to answer her question. "Oh well umm?"

Artemis noticed this uncertainty but it was more that he did want to answer.

"Ohh I'm sorry you don't have to answer that I was just a little curious."

Bell shook his head "No no its fine. I suppose I just want to get stronger. I mean my dream has always been the same since I was little. From the moment I read stories about heroes I admired them. I wanted to be like them. A hero that can beat any monster and over come any situation. Someone to inspire hope and save everyone." He closed his eyes and let out a small sigh.

"So many people have told me its a stupid dream, but its what I strive for even if its stupid."

"I don't think its a stupid dream Bell."

He opened his eyes only to be instantly embarrassed. She was extremely close in fact he could feel her hand just slightly touching his. He didn't look down instead focusing on her face.

"I've seen your kindness your want to help others. If having such a dream has made you into the person you are then I don't want you to change."

A fire had been lit in her cheeks as she realised exactly what she just said. But hers was nothing compared to Bell. His poor brain had thrown a blank.

"I mean I'm sure Hestia would say the same thing. She admires you a lot you know?"

Just like that she hoped she doged a bullet. She was going to move back but realised her hand was stuck. Upon closer inspection she noticed it was partially entwined with Bells.

'What do I do what do I do?' She kind of hoped he'd notice, but a tiny part of her didn't mind.

Bell noticed but he was conflicted. 'I should let got. That would be the proper thing to do. But why am I doubting myself?'

"Soo ugh what about you? I mean do you have any dreams? Bell tried to get a conversation going so he could let go with out her noticing.

"Hmm I'm a goddess, I have no real wants or needs… I suppose there is one thing but…"

It was Bells curiosity this time. "What's that?"

"Ohhh Well its nothing really. A friend or one of my Familia said something to me. At the time I had just passed it off but…"

She could remember it like it was yesterday. When she was questioned on her stance and belief.

'Could i… Could I learn to fall in love?'

Bell noticed her sudden pause and decided not to push the situation.

"You don't have to answer. If you don't want."

Artemis smiled.

"Thank you Bell its a little embarrassing to be honest. She told me something and I'd like to find answer for myself."

Bell nodded and looked at the window. It was starting to get dark but he reckoned it was still to early to go to sleep. He sighed and stood up getting a look from Artemis. He smiled pick up his and her bowl and taking them to the sink. He had quickly washed up and cleaned the sides. He then remembered he had been given a new book to read. This came as he saw Artemis was reading one of her own.

'I suppose its been a long day I can afford to have a little me time.'

Picking up the book from the table. Once he returned Artemis replied the blanket over both of them. The two remained quiet only focusing on their respective books. Well, perhaps Bell did take one or two looks her way just to check on her.

*'Watch your wandering eye Bell. Wait no embrace it my boy'!*

Bell shook his head it was like an annoying reminder his brain was just playing tricks on him that or he was starting to get tired. He focused on his book trying to get to a point that he could stop. Before to long he had felt his eyes start to go and his body start to go to sleep. It wasn't to long before he followed.

"Ughh what's going on?"

He looked around he was in the hostess. To his left was Welf and in front of him Lili. They were sitting at the table discussing their day. He was trying to listen but in the corner was a golden haired girl sitting with her Familia.

Aiz. She looked as beautiful as always. He could feel his attention slowly being drawn to her. He lost the care to listen to Welf or Lili's bickering in fact he couldn't hear them. It then dawned on him that she was looking back at him. It was like all the sounds and people disappeared. It lasted for what seemed like hours but he didn't mind.

When she turned away he felt his heart drop but when she got up and headed in his direction then it all became clear.

"Hello Bell."

"O-ohh Hello Aiz…"

What happened next seemed to happen so fast. Welf and Lili left leaving him alone with Aiz. A dispute between her Familia kicked off and Aiz suggested to Bell they go somewhere quieter to talk.

"Aiz were are we going?"

They had gone upstairs to one of the spare rooms. It was like a blur after that. Talking turned into flirting, flirting turned into kissing and then.

"Ughh Aiz this is…"

Bell looked at the girl in front of him. She had removed her armour and slowly removed her shirt. Bell closed his eyes. He had dreamed of this situation ever since he meet her. He wasn't ashamed to say it she was beautiful, it was only natural that he'd have those thoughts.

"Bell?" He paused. Something wasn't right. No something was wrong. The voice was different yet familiar. But who's?

"Bell is something wrong?"

The voice spoke up it was closer then before and he got an idea who it was. And that scared him. He slowly opened his eyes and found that it wasn't golden eyes looking at him but emerald green. He knew who it was, it was so obvious. He swallowed hard. His brain wasn't gonna help. It had died and gone to heaven.

The blue haired goddess was now barely clothed and close enough for him to touch. He was now laying on a bed with whom he hoped would be Aiz. Now he was horrified to find it was Artemis. She was looking over him. Her blue hair rubbing against his cheek. So soft and smooth. He was telling himself that he shouldn't be doing this. His brain was telling him to look more. But his biggest betrayal was his body. He felt his hands move on there own. It ran along the girls legs and thighs.

'I shouldn't be doing this its wrong!' His hands didn't stop. They took the time slowly work up her body. Her smooth palish skin felt so good against his hands. He was ashamed. Ashamed of his actions but more so that he was enjoying it. Once he reached her bra he stopped.

"Nuhh Bell why did you stop?" her breath was heavy and her moans like music to his ears.

"Is something wrong? Am I not beautiful enough?"

Bell shook his head. This situation was wrong, he hated himself for having gone this far. But he wasn't gonna lie.

"Your beauty has no rival." He moved his hands through her hair. It excited him, he played with it a little until he felt the back of her head. The two slowly drifted closer and closer until.

Bell's eyes shot open. His first thought was to breath and his second was to look around. He was back home, it was dark. But the faint ray of light could be made over in the distance. He dropped his head back in relief.

'What the hell was that… no better yet why the hell was that a thing!'

He was confused. No worse he was completely out of it. It was one thing for him to have those dreams of Aiz. But what he just dreamed had broke him in half.

'I feel sick... '

He was conflicted. He had these dreams with a variety of people it was hard. But he had only just gotten to know Artemis. He took a step too far with his actions earlier in the day. But he concluded that was a one off and he'd leave it at that.

'No I can't be having these thoughts! I have to control my imagination.'

He cursed his grandfathers name. He cursed Hermes for reminding him of his grandfather. He cursed himself for listening to the old perverts teachings and his active brain.

*'What's wrong Bell, urges finally got the better of you?'*

That smug voice echoed in his head. Bell hated it and know he knew that his grandfather was haunting him from the afterlife.

'Shut it old man, Your teachings have put me in more hot water then they have good!'

*'Ha-ha don't confuse what just happened with my teachings. Your thoughts are your own and your little fantasies are your brain reacting to your urges.'*

'I don't want to have these thoughts. She's a goddess its just not right!'

*'Look I don't want to be the voice in your head but here we are? As for your dilemma well…'*

Silence just what he needed!

*'Shes a girl your a boy. Goddess or not that what it comes down to, but if you want a clear answer. She said it herself she's no longer a goddess she has no powers no Familia. If you didn't know that she was a goddess you wouldn't question it.'*

Bell hated this conversation. 'I don't want to think about her in that way.'

*'You keep thinking that Bell and when you next have those thoughts don't complain that its me'*

Bell went silent with a sigh.

'I need to cool off!'

*'You may not have noticed but you might want to look down'*

'What... wait why do I feel heavy all of a sudden? Better yet whys my arm so warm?'

It was then he noticed it. He hadn't noticed it before because he was to busy arguing with himself. The strange weight and warmth, worried him but the soft sounds made him blush.

He had no choice and with an apprehensive face he looked down. There she was leaning on his chest. Her hair covering her sleeping face. It moved ever so slightly as she breathed out. He felt himself staring and admiring her beauty. Minutes after he argued he shouldn't be.

'Why me…' he tried to move but the slightest movement seemed to shift her body as well. He realised why his arm was so warm. She must have latched onto his arm thinking it was a pillow. His attempts to free his arm failed and he could feel her breasts as his arm moved in between them. He was stuck. Stuck in the worse possible situation. He realised that he wasn't going to get out of this without waking her up. But that would mean his death. Or he could wait it out and hope she wakes up. Resulting in a severe beating but it was better then death. He had another three hours before he reckoned she'd wake up, worse if it took longer.

"Ohh screw it!"

He gave up if he was going to be stuck in this predicament he might as well make himself comfortable. With great care he moved her just slightly so he could get his feet on the coach. He then laid his head on the arm.

'At least this is more comfortable.'

His movement didn't go unnoticed. Artemis had started to shift. Bell was worried she would wake up instead she moved just enough to free his arm.

'Oh thank Zeus.'

However, as he prepared to escape something happened.

"Hmfp come back pillow."

Bell soon felt a warm and tight grip around his body. Artemis had latched herself onto him. Now he was well and truly stuck. The girl let a soft moan as she moved her head to rest below Bells head. Bell could feel it the heat of his blush burning his face red. It was like a dream and a nightmare all rolled it one.

Despite all his worries, he suddenly felt tired again. He wanted to force himself to stay awake but his body was comfy, warm and he still had hours to kill. He gave up. What happens tomorrow is unavoidable.

With a loud yawn, he puts his head down. He moved his arms around her and pulled the blanket over them both. Happy, he wrapped his arms around her and drifted off back to sleep.

'Fine grandfather I'll admit it. This is nice.'
