This is my third published Mcrollins fanfic! Please let me know how I can improve it and if you like it! FYI: I started writing this before the finale. REMEMBER I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THESE CHARACTERS!
This story is written in a different way (more chunk paragraphs instead of dialogue), please let me know how this format is!
Chapter 5
She instantly recognized the man. She got up from her seat and walked toward him. He dropped his bags and ran to meet her in the middle between the row of chairs.
"Jason! What are you doing here? I thought you were still deployed since you said it was going to be for months."
"Well, the mission was a success! Now I'm happy to be with my beautiful girlfriend and Steven to celebrate his birthday."
Steven looked up and saw that Jason was with his mom. He left his toys and ran up to them.
Steven shouted "Jason!"
"Hey buddy, are you having fun? And did you miss me?"
"Yesss!"
"I see you have been having lots of fun with the sand and ocean. There is so much sand stuck to you and in your hair. Buddy, what are we going to do about that?"
"Mommy said we will have bath time tonight."
"Oh, our favorite, must be our lucky day."
"Yup, I can't wait."
"Hey buddy, remember that thing we talked about that I wanted to do."
"Yes, you can ask mommy."
Catherine had a very confused look on his face. Jason reached out for Catherine's hands and held them in his.
"Catherine, you are an amazing mother, partner, and person. The world is very lucky to have you and I am very lucky to have you as my girlfriend. But I want to be more than just your boyfriend, I want to be your husband and the father to our children. So Catherine Rollins, will you make me the happiest man in the world and be my wife?"
Catherine started to tear up a little.
At the same time…
Steve saw Jason on his knee proposing to Catherine from the outdoor showers by the beach. Steve heard everything Jason was saying.
Steve whispered to himself: "I guess I missed my chance with her and my son"
He walked back to his room and didn't hear Catherine's answer to his proposal.
"Jason, you're an amazing boyfriend and such a sweet guy, but I'm sorry, I can't. I still need to figure things out."
Jason got up from his kneeling position with a confused look on his face.
"Thank you for being honest with me."
"I'm sorry Jason, things came up, I wish I could be 100% certain in my answer and say yes, but that wouldn't be fair to you."
Jason put his hands on the side of her shoulders.
"Tell me what's wrong. I want to help you."
"I know, Jason… it's just a lot and I don't want to ruin this weekend for my son."
Catherine looked back at Steven who ran back to his beach toys.
"Cath…"
Catherine pushed Jason's hands away and walked back to her chair. Jason followed her and sat next to her. Catherine's eyes filled with tears.
"Jason, I can't marry you."
"What happened? What did I do wrong?"
"You did nothing wrong, I just… I just can't say it… I'm not ready."
"Say what?"
"Jason, just let it go please."
"Okay, okay. We can discuss this when you're ready."
Jason rubbed her back to reassure her.
"I just can't ruin his birthday."
"I understand. Just talk to me when you are ready, okay?"
"Okay..."
What will happen to Catherine's relationships?
