After winning World Coronation Series, Ash comes home to unwind before embarking on a new journey. With so many of his old companions in Pallet Town congratulating him, Ash Ketchum's life cannot be any better. 16. Chapter 16

Ash got up to see that Misty was awake, sitting on the sofa, who smiled at Ash and said "Good morning, Ash! How could we train our Pokemons when they are seeking us?" and Ash answered to Misty "We will soon leave Vermillion City for Saffron City so we can train our Pokemons in lunch. But we can do exercise together now."

Misty nodded and said to Ash "Sure, we can train but we need a place to do exercise. The other girls are sleeping so we cannot disturb them." and then Ash said "We will go out of the room to do exercise in the hall." Misty then said to Ash "Yes, that is a good idea."

Ash and Misty then went to the door and then Ash opened the door. Ash and Misty then left the room and then Ash closed the door. Ash and Misty then walked to the center of the hall. Misty then went to the bathroom and opened the door to enter and then closed the door and changed to training clothes. Misty then opened the door and left the bathroom. Ash then went and entered the bathroom and then closed the door, changed into training clothes, and then opened the door and left the bathrooom to close the door later. Ash and Misty then started to do intense exercises in the hall.

As Ash was exercising, he was looking at Misty who looked beautiful to him exercising as he loved the way her body moved while exercising. As for Misty, she was also watching how Ash was exercising and found the way he moved to look nice. Ash and Misty then noticed that they were looking at each other and blushed a lot. Misty then went to Ash who placed his hands on her lower back while Misty placed her hands on his shoulders and then Ash kissed Misty on her lips and then the two parted.

Ash then said to Misty "I love you a lot." and Misty then said on hearing that "I also love you, Ash. You are the best partner to me." Ash and Misty continued to do their exercises but their minds were occupied with the thoughts of each other.

Meanwhile, Brock got up from the bed and then went and opened the door to see Ash and Misty exercising. Ash and Misty did not perceive Brock as they were looking in the other direction of the door. Brock who looked at Ash and Misty doing intense exercises. Brock was amazed by their abilities to do intense exercises. Tracey then got up from the bed and then went to Brock who said to Tracey "The two are doing very intense exercises. It is amazing that they are so strong." and Tracey nodded.

In some time, Serena got up from the bed and then she went and opened the door to see Ash and Misty exercising. Serena also saw that Brock's and Tracey's door were opened and that both Brock and Tracey were looking at Ash and Misty exercising. Ash and Misty did not perceive the door being opened as they were looking at the opposite direction. Serena continued to look at the two and surprised at the amount of time they could do intense exercises.

Ash and Misty were doing planks and then Ash and Misty noticed that Brock, Tracey, and Serena were looking at them and they smiled at each other. Ash and Misty continued to do their exercises with the knowledge that they were being looked at. As for Brock, Tracey, and Serena, they thought that Ash and Misty had not noticed them.

Paul then got up from his bed and went to open the door to see Ash and Misty exercising. Paul then left his room, closed the door, and then went and said to Ash and Misty "At lleast you did not make me to do exercises with you. I am grateful for that." Ash then said to Paul with a smile "You are free to join us." Misty then added "It would be good for you if you joined." Paul said on hearing the two "Sorry about this, I have no interest in your exercises." Ash then said "It is fine if you have no interest, we are not forcing you to join us." Paul then went to get ready for the day.

May then got up from the bed to see Serena standing and looking. May was curious and then she went and saw Ash and Misty exercising. May then went and opened the door while Serena went away and then May went to Ash and Misty. May then said to Ash and Misty "Do you two need to do exercises for your appetites? Ash, I thought you had a fast metabolism so you need not do exercises. As for Misty, I guess she needs to do exercises."

Ash then said to May "I believe the best way to train with a Pokemon is to do exercises with them to have a better bond and to understand them. That is the main reason why I do exercises even though I have a fast metabolism." and May nodded on hearing that. May then asked Misty "Why do you do exercises?" and then Misty smiled and answered "My metabolism might be fast but when I was in Cerulean Gym, I still used to swim a lot. Since I am traveling, I do exercises instead and also like Ash, to have a better bond with my Pokemons." May pressed on and said "If you have a fast metabolism, you need not swim or do exercises." and then Misty said "I love swimming, so I swim and you are right in saying that I need not do exercises but primarily, I do exercises or swimming to have a better bond with my Pokemons and secondarily, to make my metabolism even faster by exercises or swimming."

May then smiled and said "I do not need exercises as I have already a fast metabolism which need not become faster and also, I have a good bond with my Pokemons." and then Misty said while exercsing "Swimming and exercising have a lot of health benefits for those who do them." May then said "You would be right, still I am not interested." and then May left to prepare for the day.

Dawn soon got up to see Serena standing near the door and May was nowhere to be seen. Dawn then went to Serena who was looking at Ash and Misty and then Serena noticed Dawn and said "Good morning, I was looking at Ash and Misty who were doing exercise for some time." and Dawn said "That is remarkable. I am going to get ready for the day." Dawn then went and left the room and went to get ready for the day.

James and Meowth soon got up from the bed and they did not see Paul. James and Meowth then went to the door, opened the door, and then went to get ready for the day. Ash and Misty soon finished doing their exercises and then Misty went to the bathroom, opened the door, entered the bathroom, and closed the door and then got ready for the day. Misty then opened the door and left the bathroom. Ash then entered the bathroom, closed the door, and then got ready for the day. Ash then opened the door and left the bathroom, and then closed the door to see Misty waiting for him.

Ash and Misty then walked to the dining table to see Brock, Tracey, and Serena as the others had finished eating food. Ash and Misty then saw Goh and Chloe come to the dining room and saw Chloe's mother serve food to all of them. Ash then said "Hi!" and then Goh said "Hello, Ash!" and Chloe said "Hi!" Goh and Chloe ate the food rapidly and then went rapidly.

Chloe's mother then said "The two have an examination so they have to hurry to reach school." and Ash said "It is no problem to us." Ash, Misty, Brock, Tracey, and Serena then ate the food quietly for some time and then finished eating food. Ash, Misty, Brock, Tracey, and Serena got up and then went to the television where they saw Paul watching the news. Ash, Misty, Brock, Tracey, and Serena then sat on the sofas and saw that the other members of the group were there.

Ash then asked Misty "Why do you have Skeledirge when you are a Water Pokemon trainer?" and then Misty anwered "Skeledirge is the evolution of Fuecoco and Fuecoco is a Fire Croc Pokemon. I like Crodilian Pokemons so I chose to have Skeledirge."

Sunndely they saw a news headline "Vermillion City School taken hostage!" and then showed a video of the school surrounded by Team Rocket members. They heard a reporter say "It was a norma day at the school when suddenly, there were Team Rocket members who rushed from outside the city like a battalion. They used their Pokemons and defeated the police's Pokemons. They then went to the school and some srrounded the school while others entered the school. They then said that the school is taken hostage."

Paul then said to the group "Ash, before you hurry due to Goh, we need to make a plan. We know that they want you in exchange for the school. I, James, and Meowth will go first to save the school as we are not connected to you according to them. If we do not win, you all could go to save the school but in any case, do not let Ash to go in exchange for anybody's freedom."

Ash then said "I have four girls who love me so I would not do anything rash for them other than trying to save the school if you three fail. Be on constant call with us and report what happens! Go and save the school, Paul!" Ash trusted the three to save the school as they were useful in finding out the presence of Team Rocket in Pewter City and Vermillion City.

Paul nodded and said "James will be on the call, we three will go together. We will go now!" and then Ash said "Bye!" and then Paul, James, and Meowth ran to the door. Paul then opened the door and then Paul, James, and Meowth ran and left the house.

Paul, James, and Meowth ran on the pavements and roads with James speaking to Brock on the call. The weather was sunny with a blue sky which normally would be a good weather but now there was a crisis. Paul, James, and Meowth then came to the road on which there was the school and saw many Team Rocket members.

Paul then said "Aggron and Electivire, go!" and then ran along with James and Meowth along the pavement. James then said "We will encounter Team Rocket soon!" and then Ash said "Hope you do well!" Paul, James, and Meowth ran for some time and then reached Officer Jenny and saw the Team Rocket members with their Pokemons like Zubats and Golbats.

Paul then said "Rock Slide!" and then the Pokemons were hit by the rocks and fainted. Paul, James, and Meowth ran and entered the school premises and then James released Morpeko. Paul, James, and Meowth saw that there was no one rushing towards them and Paul realized that there was a trap. Paul, James, and Meowth ran in the open school grounds for some time and then reached the steps of the imposing school building.

Paul then said to James and Meowth "I believe that Team Rocket are primarily interested in keeping Goh and Chloe as hostages because they are important to Ash so free the other students! I will go and save Goh and Chloe!" James and Meowth then parted from Paul saw the signs and then climbed up the steps with Electivire.

Paul then reached the second floor and then called Ash and said "I need to know the floor where Goh and Chloe are located?" Ash then rushed to Chloe's mother who was nearby, watching the television, and asked "Could you tell which is the examination room of Goh and Chloe to Paul?" and then gave the phone to Chloe's mother. Chloe's mother then said "Third floor."

Paul then said "Alright, Thanks!" and then cut the call. Paul then climbed up the stairs to reach third floor. Paul then walked in the third floor, slowly, while looking through the windows in order to see Goh and Chloe. Paul did not see Goh and Chloe in one classroom, and then went and did not see Goh and Chloe in the second classroom, and then went saw Goh and Chloe and then walked rapidly to surprising see a person who he did not expect as the ones keeping Goh and Chloe as hostages with his gun.

Meanwhile, James and Meowth were managing to defeat Team Rocket members rapidly with the help of Morpeko and Aggron, class by class, and making the students to escape rapidly. James and Meowth did this rapidly for few classes. James and Meowth did this for the first floor and the second floor, and then were doing this for the third floor and then reached Paul who approached the person that was keeping Goh and Chloe as hostages. James then told Ash in the call "You would not expect this but Lt Surge is keeping Goh and Chloe as hostages."

Paul then said to Lt Surge along with James and Meowth "You... Vermillion City people respected you and this is what you do, be a Team Rocket admin? You have no morals?" and then Lt Surge laughed and said "Wars do not have morals, I am a former soldier in the great war that killed many and I learnt from that, have no morals." James then asked Lt Surge "Could you tell about the great war?"

Lt Surge then smiled and said while looking at Raichu who went and blocked the entrance "Alright heroes, time for a story. I am an Unovan soldier who participated in the war. The war was between Kanto and Unova that Unova won decisively. Kanto had a monarchy called Kantonian Empire while Unova had the Pokemon League controlling. Kanto had used its influence to have Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh under its control. Alola was under creeping Kantonian influence and then the Pokemon League that before consisted of Unova, Kalos, Galar, and Paldea, used its forces to takeover Alola in a destructive war that killed many Alolans. I participated in the war in Alola and had personally killed many Alolans of Kantonian origins and also native Alolans who supported Kanto. Soon with the help of Alolans of Unovan origin who supported the Pokemon League, Alola came under the control of the Pokemon League. However to tell you the truth, many people of Kantonian Empire origins were allowed to settle in Alola due to the lack of population along with some Unovans. The Pokemon League soon decided to crush the Kantonian Empire and then used their forces to attack Kanto. I also participated in that war that had many Kantonians die. I have personally also killed many Kantonians that supported the empire. Soon, the Kantonian empire lost, and the emperor, was made to sign a treaty that had control of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh go to the Pokemon League."

Paul then said "Now that your story is complete, Aggron, Rock Slide and Electivire, Thunder!" Aggron threw rocks at Raichu and Electivire used Thunder but Raichu dodged the attacks. Lt Surge then said "This is my starter Pokemon, a Kantonian Pokemon but still it is mine and I love it! Iron Tail!"

Raichu then used Iron Tail that sliced Aggron and caused Aggron to yelp in pain and faint while making Aggron to bleed and then Iron Tail on Electivire that cut through Electivire and caused Electivire to yelp in pain, faint, and bleed while Paul knew that he still had a few more Pokemons.

Paul then said "Weaviile and Froslass, Blizzard!" Weavile and Froslass used Blizzard which made a cold storm to fall in the classroom. Lt Surge then said "Thunderbolt!" and used Thunderbolt and broke the ice of the storm and so dissipated the storm. Raichu then used Iron Tail and ran rapidly and sliced Weavile and then Froslass causing Weavile and Froslass to shout in pain, faint, and bleed.

Lt Surge then said on looking at the condition of Paul's Pokemons "Even though I killed many, for someone who seems caring like you, you can recall your Pokemons to the Pokeballs and not fight me, that would be the good choice if you care about your Pokemons and what I would recommend to caring trainers."

Paul then said to Lt Surge "I give up!" and then James said in his phone "We lost!" and then recalled Morpeko to the Pokeball. Paul, James, and Meowth then sat down on the ground, sad about their loss. Lt Surge then said "Give your phone to me!" and then James then gave the phone to Lt Surge. Lt Surge then went and said in a serious voice "Mastermind, your underlings are caught. Come here if you want your underlings freed." and then Lt Surge cut the call.

Lt Surge then said "Grunt, come!" and then a grunt came to him, running, and then Lt Surge said "Tell to Officer Jenny that I want Ash and that I will start the countdown by killing a student every few minutes that passes." Paul, James and Meowth were horriified on hearing that. The grunt then said "I will do that!" and then the grunt called Officer Jenny and then said "We want Ash and every few minutes that passes, a student will be killed. Call forr Ash to come to us and the students lives will be saved!"

Officer Jenny of Vermillion City was horrified and then said "Police officers, go and try to save the lives of the students!" and then the police officers rushed rapidly into the school premises and then ran to the building. Lt Surge then saw Raichu who said "Rai!" and then Lt Surge said "Thunderbolt!" and then Raichu used Thunderbolt on the officers from the third floor and many officers were hit by the powerful Thunderbolt and many stoopped moving and fell down.

Officer Jenny then saw the attack and then said to her officers "Go and get the bodies!" and then the officers walked slowly and reached the bodies. The officers took the bodies and went away with the bodies. Officer Jenny called the hospital and said "This is Officer Jenny! I need the ambulance!"

Meanwhile, the group were sitting in a circle, brainstorming as to what to do as Paul, James, and Meowth were captured while listening closely to what was being said in the news channel in the television. Ash had wanted to rush immediately but was stopped by Brock and Tracey who said to him that they need to make a plan before freeing Paul, James, and Meowth.

Brock then said to summarize what happened "Team Rocket took hostage of Vermillion City School and things were bleak. Paul, James, and Meowth were able to enter the school by defeating the Team Rocket members who stood on guard. Paul, James, and Meowth then entered the school and many students were freed but just one class is under hostage and those students include Goh and Chloe. Possibly Paul, James, and Meowth were in hostage in the same class where Goh and Chloe are hostage. Any police members who try to enter the school are made to faint or possibly die when they try to enter the school by Thunderbolt."

Dawn then said in a thoughtful manner "I have Mamoswine which is part Ground type which is one of my strongest Pokemons. I suggest that I would go first to fight against them along with Ash who has Garchomp. Our Pokemons would not be affected by Electric type moves."

Ash knew that Dawn was his partner and said "Brock has Steelix which is also a part Ground type Pokemon and his ace. He and I can go together if he wills. I do not want you to get hurt in the operation against Team Rocket so I suggest that I and Brock would go together." Dawn then retorted "Do you think that I cannot defend ourselves against Team Rocket? I can help you against Team Rocket."

Ash knew that he did not want Dawn to be hurt but before he responded, Brock said "I am primarily a doctor and Dawn is a Pokemon trainer so she is better qualified to fight aginst Team Rocket. I say that you and Dawn to be the first to go to fight Team Rocket in the school."

Ash knew that Brock was unwilling and he provided valid reasons as to why he and Dawn should go together. Ash then said "Brock, I will need you after me and Dawn enter the school to redirect the Thunderbolt through Steelix as Steelix is tall enough to dissisipate. You will guard against the attacking Pokemon trying to prevent others from going inside." Brock knew that he was up to the task and nodded and said "I agree to the task you have given me. I will act as the guard."

Tracey then asked as he was curious "What will the task be for the rest of us?" Ash then thought for a few moments while seeeng the determined look of Misty, May, Serena, and Tracey and then said "I want May and Serena to use Blaziken and Delphox to burn any Team Rocket member's Pokemons while they go around the school to find the remaining Team Rocket members who could be a threat and also to hit them with powerful fire type moves if they try to attack with their guns. Misty would help me and Dawn trying to free the last classroom by secretly moving and hiding herself and attacking when me and Dawn are cornered while Tracey would help Officer Jenny."

May then smiled and said "I accept my role." and Serena said "I also accept my role." Misty smiled at Ash and said "I will help you and Dawn if you need help." As for Tracey, he said in an earnest manner "I agree to the task that you have given me." Ash then said seriously "Alright, time to run as rapidly as possible to save more people. They would be killing more people if we go slowly." Ash and Misty then got up and ran rapidly with May, Dawn, Serena, Brock, and Tracey following them.

As Ash and his companions ran, Lt Surge was looking at his watch, hoping that he could kill as many people as possible, while his Pokemons were looking at the school students taken hostage, to stop anyone from acting. Lt Surge saw that Raichu was keeping a good guard of the school against the police members.

Lt Surge soon saw that the time has come for him to kill and then said Electabuzz "Time to livestream!" and then Electabuzz nodded and clicked the livestreaming app. Lt Surge then went to a girl who was Chloe's classmate and reached her, pulled her by her hand to the place where teachers would usually stand, and said to her "I know about you. You are Chloe's female friend and Chloe is a companion of Ash. It is your crime to be close to Chloe. Time to die!"

Chloe then stood up and said "Do not kill her for that! Kill me instead of her, I was the one who did the crime of being Ash's companion, kill me! Ash will feel more pain if I die than if she dies." Lt Surge then gave an evil laugh and then heard Goh say "Kill me instead of Chloe! I am very close to Ash and Chloe rarely is a travel companion to me and Ash."

Lt Surge smirked and said "Goh will be sad if Chloe is sad due to her friend's death. If I kill you first, Ash will be sad but will become better over time, that is if I fail to kill Ash. If I kill her, Chloe would have a traumaic experience, you would have more of a traumatic expreience on seeing her, seeing Chloe and you who would not be able to cope with the traumatic experience, Ash will become very sad and he might have a traumatic experience, that is if I fail to kill Ash."

Goh then said to Lt Surge "You are wrong! Ash will have more of a traumatic experience if you kill me instead of Chloe or her friend as we are so close! Kill me! I want to sacrifice myself for Chloe and that girl!" Chloe's friend then said to them "You both are very talented while I do not have much talents. The world will not miss me more compared to you or Chloe dying. Lt Surge, kill me!"

Goh then said Chloe "She wants to die as a sacrifice to us while Lt Surge also wants to kill her. So we should not show our sadness to Ash if she dies due to Lt Suge as he will become very sad. That is how we would help Ash from becoming very sad and accomplishing what Lt Surge wants." Chloe then nodded and asked Lt Surge "Can I speak to her for one last moment?" and Lt Surge said "Yes, you do that and then I will kill her."

Chloe then said to the girl "We will remember your sacrifice and will make sure that Lt Surge and Team Rocket are crushed for you." Chloe's friend nodded and said "Thanks!" Lt Surge then said "Any last words?" and then she said "Tell to those close to me that I cherish the time I spent in my life with them and the memories that I made."

Lt Surge then took his gun, placed the gun on her head while she had soft tears coming from her eyes, and then shot her in the head. She then dropped dead to the floor and Chloe was crying and was vomitting on the floor, Goh then went to Chloe and held her while saying to her "She wanted to sacrifice for us. We should control ourselves from crying a lot as she would not want that. We need to be emotionally very stong for her and for Ash." and Chloe nodded while still crying.

Lt Surge then said "I love seeing you lovers cry and Goh trying to console Chloe." Goh then asked Lt Surge in a seious manner devoid of emotions "How do you know that we are close to Ash?" and then Lt Surge said while he was smirking"Thanks to James and Meowth along with Jessie for doing reports on who they were pursuning, we came to know about you. So the two traitors..." Lt Surge indicated James and Meowth who were crying on realizing they were the source of pain for Goh and Chloe due to Chloe's friend's death "are the reason that we can hopefully make Ash to come here. As for Chloe's friend, we had hacked the cameras in the school and got data from the camera as to who were close to you and Chloe. How something for security can cause Chloe's friend's death, that is amazing!"

Lt Surge then went to his chair and sat on the chair. Lt Surge was back to looking at the watch, waiting to kill another student. Time passed while Goh was comforting Chloe from her trauma due to her friend's death while he was traumatized due to seeing the death and also due to Chloe. Lt Surge soon saw that the time had come for him to kill and he walked to reach Regina, Chloe's friend who was transferred to the school.

Lt Surge then said "Regina, Chloe's friend, you used to not be able to make friends due to being a recently transferred student but you made the mistake of being Chloe's friends. Even though you made many friends due to becoming closer to Chloe, they will not be able to save you from you dying due to the mistake you made of befriending Chloe." Regina cried profusely on hearing that. Lt Surge then pulled Regina by her hand and soon saw Raichu jumping down.

Meanwhile, Ash and Misty were able to reach the gate of the school. Misty then crouched while Ash and Misty waited for Dawn to come. Dawn soon was able to reach Ash and Misty. Ash and Dawn then released Garchomp and Mamoswine while Misty walked behind Garchomp and Mamoswine and Ash and Dawn walked on the sides of Garchomp and Mamoswine with Garchomp being to the right of Mamoswine. Ash and Dawn saw a Raichu using Thunderbolt and the attack did no damage to Garchomp and Mamoswine due to them being Ground types.

Raichu then jumped down and saw and recognised Ash. Raichu jumped to use Iron Tail and then Pikachu jumped and used Iron Tail and pushed Raichu to the side causing Raichu to fly and hit the wall that caused Raichu to faint as Pikachu was much more powerful than Raichu.

Ash, Dawn, Misty, Mamoswine, and Garchomp then ran before Raichu could get up and soon reached the stairs. Dawn then returned Mamoswine to the Pokeball due to Mamoswine being large and then Ash, Dawn, Misty, and Garchomp saw May and Serena trailing them while Brock stood at the entrance.

Meanwhile, Lt Surge saw that Raichu was not coming up and said "Looks like a formidable foe came to us." Chloe then said on seeing that "Regina, I am so sorry for being your friend, I can cut my ties with you to save you. Yes, I hate you Regina, so Lt Surge, kill me instead of killing her." Lt Surge laughed maniacally on hearing that and said "Too little, too late. I will still consider Regina as your friend and kill her as we all know that you are doing that just to save Regina."

Regina then looked at Lt Surge and said "Yes, I am Chloe's friend even though she said that. Kill me instead of her. I am sure Chloe can cope seeing that she seems to have coped well from seeing her friend die and now not feeling sad due to that. Chloe, I loved all the time that we spent together and I will always be your friend no matter what you say. Please do not cry due to missing me as that is not waht I would want. I want you to not cry and vomit on seeing my deatth and to keep your vow to the friend of yors that died regarding Lt Surge and Team Rocket."

Lt Surge then asked Regina "Any last words?" and Regina forcefully smiled and said to the class "Everyone, I loved all the time that I spent together with you all. Do not cry about me as that is not what I would want. Be happy despite what Lt Surge and Team Rocket are doing."

Lt Surge then placed his gun next to Regina's head and then he saw Ash and Dawn along with Garchomp. Lt Surge then said "Now it is time for maximum pain! I am killing everyone." and then shooting in different directions while Misty released Gyarados and said "Hurricane!" which broke the walls and ceiling of the classroom while slowing down the speed of the bullets and making them fall to the ground. Misty then said "Gyarados, carry Lt Surge with the Hurricane!" Gyarados then targetted Lt Surge with the Hurricane causing Lt Surge to fly in th air. Regina then ran rapidly along with the rest of the students away from the destroyed class.

Paul, James, and Meowth saw Lt Surge being held in the air due to the Hurricane and Ash, Dawn, and Misty walked over the destroyed benches to reach Paul, James, and Meowth. Lt Surge was spinning in the hurricane for some time and then May and Serena came with Blaziken and Delphox. May and Serena then saw the gun Lt Surge held and then May said "Flamethrower!" and then Serena said "Mystical Fire!"

The Fire type attacks were used at Lt Surge causing Lt Surge to burn while he shouted in pain. Lt Surge was then thrown away by the Hurricane away to the ground. Misty then returned Gyarados to the Pokeball. Ash, Misty, Dawn, May, Serena, Paul, James, and Meowth then walked rapidly to see Lt Surge run to the children, take Goh and Chloe in his hands, and then run rapidly while Officer Jenny did not pay attention as she was looking at helping the other students. May and Serena then returned Blaziken and Delphox to the Pokeballs while Ash returned Garchomp to the Pokeball.

Ash then released Charizard and Pidgeot and then Ash, Dawn, and Misty embarked on Pidgeot while May and Serena embarked on Charizard. Charizard and Pidgeot flew and then Ash said "Follow Lt Surge!" Charizard and Pidgeot then saw Lt Surge who was running rapidly and then soon reached a forest. Lt Surge then ran into the forest and then Ash said "Charizard and Pidgeot, land!" Charizard and Pidgeot then landed and then Ash, Dawn, and Misty disembarked from Pidgeot while May and Serena disembarked from Charizard. Ash then returned Charizard and Pidgeot to the Pokeballs.

Meanwhile, Lt Surge was in an isolated area of the forest and then he placed Goh and Chloe on the ground. Lt Surge then took his gun and put them next to Goh's and Chloe's heads while saying "Regret being friends of Ash, Goh and Chloe, no matter how much you say you hate Ash, I will not believe that."

Chloe then said while crying "I did not expect my day to be like this. I just came for an examination, instead I now have to face a murderer! You do not care about what we say, I will say that Ash is close to me no matter what! That is the truth." Goh then said "I am a friend of Ash and I will support him no matter what!" Lt Surge then said "I will first enjoy Chloe before I kill her. Goh, lover of Chloe, cry as I enjoy her!"

Meanwhile, Ash, Misty, May, Dawn, and Serena then ran into the forest, and then they saw the footprints of Lt Surge. Ash, Misty, May, Dawn, and Serena then ran following the footsteps and saw many Pokemons like Pidgeys, Spearows, and Caterpies in the forest. Ash, Misty, May, Dawn, and Serena soon were able to reach Lt Surge who had his gun pointed at Goh's and Chloe's heads.

Lt Surge then used the butt of his gun to push Chloe to the ground while still having his gun pointed at Goh's head and said "Chloe, now face my love!" and then Lt Surge tried to kiss Chloe. Ash then said "Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" and then Pikachu used Thunderbolt and fried Lt Surge with the Thunderbolt who shouted due to the pain. Lt Surge was trying to shoot with the gun but Ash pulled the gun from Lt Surge's right arm while Misty pulled the gun from Lt Surge's left then Dawn kicked Lt Surge away from Chloe. Chloe got up and then May then held Chloe's hand and ran while Chloe held Goh's hand when she was running.

Ash and Misty then held their guns next to Lt Surge's head who said "I am a warrior who has killed many but to see two young persons who control my survival shows how low I have fallen. If I am free, I will regret today a lot as I have failed in the operation."

Serena then said on hearing that in a furious tone "You have shown to be a disgrace to Vermillion City, to Unova, and you deserve to be locked up in bars." Lt Surge then said while looking down, "I am a useless Team Rockert member!" Dawn then said "You know your boss and you still worked for him, so you deserve the consequences. Evil will lose!"

May, Chloe, and Serena reached Officer Jenny who was walking in their direction. May then said to Officer Jenny "You need to come and arrest the criminal!" Officer Jenny nodded and said "I will do that!" Goh then said while looking down "We both are too sad to help even though we want to help. We both will part ways!" and then May said "That is fine, you need healing from the trauma you faced." Goh then said "Bye!" and then Goh and Chloe walked away from May and Officer Jenny. May and Officer Jenny walked rapidly and soon reached the place to see Lt Surge life threatened by Ash, Misty, Dawn, and Serena.

Ash said to Officer Jenny "Lt Surge is a criminal who needs to face life imprisonment. Arrest him!" and then Officer Jenny said "You have no proof against him. All I can see is that you are threatening an innocent man which is wrong. Please leave the guns." and the group were surprised.

Dawn then said "I am an eyewitness to his attempt to assault Chloe and kill Goh and Chloe. Serena is also another eyewitness." and Serena nodded and said "I witnessed Lt Surge's actions and they were indeed deplorable. Lt Suerge needs to be arrested" May then added "Yes, he is a criminal as I saw his actions."

Officer Jenny then said "Three witnesses, but I am sorry to say that he has immunity as a gym leader and even if your allegations were true, he cannot be arrested by me. If you kill him, that is a crime and you could face life imprisonment for that crime. So I call on you to let Lt Surge leave at once."

Misty then said on hearing that "I am also a gym leader so I m free to do what I want with him and you cannot arrest me for that so why should I leave Lt Surge? Ash is the Alola Champion and he also has diplomatic immunity to do as he wants and so why should he also leave Lt Surge?" Lt Surge then said "Officer Jenny, get the two fools to leave me!"

Officer Jenny said to the two "I am sorry but since I am under Lt Surge as the police of Vermillion City is under the Vermillion City Gym Leader, I have to listen to whatever he says to me so even if you have diplomatic immunity, I have to go against you so I strongly suggest you both leave Lt Surge or I have to take actions against you two." Lt Surge then said while smirking "Shoot and kill the four troublemakers if they do not leave in a minute!" Officer Jenny then said "You four, leave soon as I will kill you four if you do not leave!"

Ash and Misty were surpised to see how the tables have turned and they were furious. In they eyes of Ash, Misty, Dawn, and Serena, Officer Jenny was now an enemy, not an ally, due to her listening to Lt Surge. Ash knew that the only option left was to kill Lt Surge as then Vermillion City would be freed from his rule but his substitute gym leader might also be a Team Rocket member and they would then have a criminal case against them due to the substitute gym leader or other Team Rocket members who could raise a case against them.

Lt Surge then said "Raise a case against the four for holding me hostage." and Officer Jenny then said in a stern voice "I will raise a case against the four. As to you four, do not be vigilantes. Just leave Vermillion City as that is the only way you will be safe as in Vermillion City, you would be tried for a criminal case."

May then said to Ash, Misty, Dawn, and Serena "Let us all leave Vermillion City and its surrounding areas as we will all face a case if we do not do that. Ash and Misty have diplomatic immunity due to being gym leader and Champion but at this time and in this area, that would not work due to Lt Surge. I will get the others to leave." May then ran away.

Ash then punched a tree and then said "Alright, we will go but you all will face our wrath if we ever come across you!" and then Officer Jenny said "I was just following orders and the law so I am not a criminal." Lt Surge then said while smiling "Ash and Misty stole my guns so have a case against them for stealing and a case against Dawna nd Serena for assisting them."

Ash then said "You have your gun!" and threw the gun to the floor. Misty then said "Yes criminal, take the gun!" and then like Ash, Misty threw the gun to the floor. Ash, Misty, Dawn, and Serena then ran rapidly away fron Officer Jenny and Lt Surge and they heard the shots being fired but dut to the forest trees, the shots missed.

Ash then said to Misty, Dawn, and Serena furiously "A criminal like Lt Surge can do whatever he wants but if we try to stop crime, we are criminals? This is corruption! I am sure Lt Surge will not be arrested for trying to shoot us when we threw the guns away." Misty then said while feeling sad "We saved the school but we are the ones who will have criminal cases while Lt Surge walks free. I hope May can get the rest to leave Vermillion City soon as they will also face cases for helping us."

Dawn looked at Ash, Misty, and Serena and said "Every cloud has a sliver lining. Now we know that Ash, Misty, and possibly Brock and Paul have immunity. Should we kill the next Team Rocket member who creates problems instead of leaving them alone? It seems like a hard decision to kill a person as they have family and friends but what can we do?" Serena then thought and said "Let us keep killing as a last resort if other options fail."

Ash was thinking about the fact that his journey to save his mother could lead to him being a killer. Ash then said "There is so much of corruption in Vermillion City due to Lt Surge. I do not know if other gym leaders in Kanto might also be Team Rocket members. I do not know if the courts of Kanto have Team Rocket members. It could be just us aginst the whole of Kanto. We need to be be vigilant.."

Misty then said "Giovanni used to be the Viridian City Gym Leader and still would have the position as only the substitute gym leaders were Agatha and then Paul. So we were not safe in Viridian City. We need to take risks to serch whether Delia is in Saffron City."

Meanwhile, May was running and soon came across Goh and Chloe who were sobbing while walking together. May then said to Goh and Chloe "We would soon be leaving Vermillion City as it is not safe for us. Lt Surge has has raised a case and possibly more against Ash, Misty, Dawn, and Serena. He could take you two as hostages again so are you willing to come with us all? This is for your own safety. I would also recommend that Chloe's and Goh's relatives leave Vermillion City as they could also be taken hostage."

Goh nodded and said "I will come with you all in your journey. I will inform my and Chloe's relatives to come with us all." and then Chloe said "I am also coming." May then nodded and said "I am sorry for the inconvenience you would have due to being forced to come with us." and then Goh said "I would anyways travel with you all if there were no examinations. By the way, what is the big problem that you all have and so we were taken hostage?"

May, Goh, and Chloe walked with May narrating what happened since Ash left Goh and Chloe to meet with his mother. Goh and Chloe were getting furious on hearing what Ash faced and in some time, May finished telling the issue and then Goh said "I will help Ash to save his mother!" and Chloe nodded and said "I will also help."

May, Goh, and Chloe saw that the laboratory was near and then May ran with Goh and Chloe following May and then in some time, May, Goh, and Chloe reached the laboratory entrance which was open and then saw Paul, James, Meowth, Brock, and Tracey along with Professor Cerise, Talia, Chloe's mother, Parker, Chloe's brother, and to Goh and Chloe's surprise, Walker, Chloe's father, Camille, Goh's mother, and Halta, Goh's grandmother.

Goh ran to Walker while Chloe ran to Professor Cerise and said what happened along with May adding in extra information and the group were hearing that and getting more furious. May, Goh, and Chloe then finished narating what happened and then Tracey said "I will accompany Goh and Chloe's relatives to take them to Pallet Town." and Paul then said "They need more security so I will also go with them."

Professor Cerise then said "Alright, we would leave Vermillion City and transfer the Pokemons to Professor Oak's Lab." May then added "We need to leave as fast as possible so Goh, Chloe, Brock, James, and Meowth, get ready as soon as possible."

May then went and sat on the chair while she waited for Goh, Chloe, Brock, James, and Meowth to get ready. In some time, Goh, Chloe, Brock, James, and Meowth were ready and then May said "Alright, follow me!" and then May ran out of the house with Goh, Chloe, Brock, James, and Meowth following them. May, Goh, Chloe, Brock, James, and Meowth ran in the pavements and roads for some time while the weather was cloudy that matched how they felt and they saw an announcement in a screen on the building in front that showed their faces with "WANTED" wrritten and said "If you find Ash, Misty, Dawn, and Serena, report them to the police."

Brock then said to the group "We are safe for now but Lt Surge could make up some charges against us all so we need to be cautious and go as fast as possible!" and others nodded. May, Goh, Chloe, Brock, James, and Meowth ran in the pavements and streets while crossing to reach the forest.

May, Goh, Chloe, Brock, James, and Meowth ran in the forest for some time with the group following May and then they were able to reach Ash, Misty, Dawn, and Serena. Ash looked at Goh and Chloe and said "Hi, I am sorry as to what happened in the school. It is due to me and you having friendship that you were targetted."

Goh then looked at Ash and replied "You need not be sorry, it was Lt Surge who took us hostage regardless of whatever reason he used." and Chloe said "I am happy to have met you. You need not feel sorry as that happened due to Lt Surge." Ash then nodded and asked "Where is Paul and Tracey?" Brock then said "They went to provide safety to Goh's and Chloe's relatives in their travel from Vermillion City to Palet Town." Ash then said "Alright, let us travel to Saffron City." and Misty, Dawn, Serena, May, Goh, Chloe, Brock, James, and Meowth nodded.

Ash, Misty, May, Dawn, and Serena formed a group and were talking ith each other about what they can do in Saffron City. Goh saw that Chloe was sad and said "I know you feel bad for your friend's death and Lt Surge blamed you traveling with Ash as the cause for her death and I support you mourning. But we need to listen to your friend's words and remember your vow to her."

Chloe then nodded and said "Yes, I want to crush Lt Surge and Team Rocket once and for all due to what they did in my school. Lt Surge is such a depraved criminal. Ash, what happened to Lt Surge?" Chloe asked as she wanted to know what happened finally with Lt Surge. Ash then looked at Chloe and said her in a sad tone "He is still alive as he is the gym leader and has immunity. We tried to have him arrested but Officer Jenny refused to arrest him no matter what and she even placed charges on us."

Chloe then said to Ash "I wish Lt Surge was dead due to the pain he has caused for all of us though I am not angry that you did not kill him." Ash then said on hearing that "I was contemplating killing him but at last, I did not want to be a murderer no matter how bad Lt Surge was."

Goh said on hearing that "You have a kind heart, I also wished he was dead due to what he did to the school and Chloe's friend. But due to the circumstances of Officer Jenny supporting Lt Surge and your and Misty's hesistance to kill Lt Surge, he is still alive."

Dawn then said in a sad tone "Me and Serena were eyewitnesses, Ash and Misty had immunity, but Lt Surge has power in Vermillion City. We did manage to save many which was a good thing and due to the students who saw Lt Surge and their families, many in Vermillion City would be against Lt Surge. I do not know what will happen in Vermillion City as the people know now that the police will not deiver justice."

Serena then said "There was a livestream which showed whayt happened and also showed Lt Surge running so the news that Lt Surge is a criminal would have reached other cities as he was shown to have kidnapped Goh and Chloe while running. But now, I cannot find much videos about the incident. It looks like Kanto League wants to protect itself from more protests when people learn that one of their gym leaders is a member of Team Rocket."

Misty nodded and said "Yes, now there could be some unrest in Kanto against the Pokemon League that opposes both the corruption due to Lt Surge and also Team Rocket but I am concerned that Giovanni or any other gym leader who was not proved to be a Team Rocket member could try using the gym trainers in their City to takeover the Kanto League while using the emotions of the people who are against the corruption to support them. We need to do something to make sure the people's frustration is not used against them."

Ash then said on hearing that "Why are the G-Men who would know about who might be Team Rocket members not exposing them? I know they are innocent until proven guilty but still they could have enough evidence to make a convincing case that they are Team Rocket members." Serena then said "Maybe they do not want to expose that there is corruption in the Pokemon League."

Dawn said thoughtfully "Who is the one that is the head of the Champions?" and then Misty said on hearing that "There is no head for the Champions and all decisions are taken by a vote among the Champions but there is a rotating presidency among the Champions as to who would take the executive role." Ash then added "Lance has a lot of influence as the head of G-Men so others tend to listen to him but now that the news of corruption in Kanto League is spreading, Lance may not be able to fully control the outrage."

Serena then said "Giovanni might contact Lance to tell him that since people distrust him due to corruption in Kanto League, he might as well give Kanto to Giovanni but then Lance might not do that as he could get removed from his Championship post by a vote among the Champions and approval by Goodshow which would be needed."

James overheard the discussion and said "Giovanni wants to first kill Ash before he might do as that is what I felt he would do, knowing how he behaves. He does one of his main missions first before doing another of his mission. So if we manage to keep ourselves safe and also manage to save Delia from Team Rocket, his plans will ultimately fail."

Dawn then said "Giovanni has changed a lot so we do not know if he would do as you say but still since you know a lot about Team Rocket, we could take your word about them." May then said "On the brighter side, we would soon approach Saffron City as Vermillion City is close to Saffron City."

Chloe then smiled and said "Thank You, Ash for coming fast enough to save another of my friend, Regina. She was about to die but your and Dawn's timely intervention and Misty using Hurricane, you all saved her and the rest from dying due to Lt Surge." Goh then said in an earnest manner "Ash, thank you for saving most of my classmate. It is unfortunate that Chloe's friend died but you still managed to save the others. For that I am grateful to you all. I know James and Meowth were blamed for Chloe's friend's death by Lt Surge but he did not intend for that to happen. I am grateful that James came along with Meowth." Chloe then said "I also thank James and Meowth."

Ash smiled and said "You are welcome, Goh and Chloe!", Misty said "You are most welcome. Goh and Chloe!", Dawn said "You're very welcome. Goh and Chloe." and James said "Thanks!" while Meowth said "Thank You." Ash, Misty, Dawn, Serena, May, Goh, Chloe, Brock, James, and Meowth continued to walk in the forest between Vermillion City and Saffron City.
