Chaos. That was the best way to describe the scene in the Beacon Hills Reserve as the McCall pack sprinted back towards the parking lot. Scott, carrying his naked and unconscious formerly dead girlfriend. Malia had already out run them, taking Sadie's keys to her SUV to try to meet them part way. Lydia was babbling incoherently far in the back, Sadie bringing up the middle as she frantically tried to dial Argent on Scott's cell phone.

He wasn't picking up and texting him ALLISON IS ALIVE felt inappropriate. She dialed again for what had to be the twentieth time, all the while ignoring the buzz of her own phone in her back pocket. She knew she was late for the lacrosse game and could only imagine what Eli told Derek. Sadie just had to hope he could forgive her when he saw Allison was back.

Bouncing bright lights were rapidly getting closer, Malia with the SUV! Sadie didn't have it in her to remember if the werecoyote had ever gotten her drivers license and by how the headlights were moving, it didn't seem like it. The black SUV screeched to a halt before them, Malia hopping out of the driver's seat and throwing the keys at Sadie. She caught them deftly, pocketing Scott's cell phone in her jacket. Argent would have to wait.

"I do not understand why people like driving," Malia growled, helping Scott into the backseat. The blanket she kept in the back now wrapped around Allison's frame.

Sadie flipped around, her brown curls smacking her across the face. There was no sign of the red head that had been bringing up the back of the pack. She cupped her hands around her mouth, "COME ON LYDIA! PUT SOME WIGGLE IN IT!"

The banshee finally came into view, brow covered in sweat, eyes wild, with the coat she'd been wearing earlier wrapped around her waist. Lydia came to a halt before the SUV, bracing herself on her hands and knees as she panted. "We can't all..have…supernatural speed…you know! Oh god, I'm going to throw up."

Sadie wrapped an arm around her best friend and one under her knees, lifting her into the passenger seat. Supernatural strength had its benefits. Sadie handed her a half consumed bottle of water that had been rolling around on the floor of her car for god knows how long. "Just don't throw up in the car, I've already got enough shit going on."

The foursome was speeding down the highway, Beacon Hills Hospital being the destination. Sadie's eyes flicked up to Scott in the backseat, his eyes were glassy, hands ghosting over Allison. Or what they were assuming was Allison. Sadie wasn't sure why it was such a shock that this happened. Peter had come back from the dead one too many times before, why couldn't it happen to someone who deserved to be here?

"This can't be real," croaked Scott finally, blinking away tears to look up at Lydia and Sadie. Lydia hadn't faced forward since she'd gotten in the SUV, opting to turn over the center console to stare at her best friend. She'd finally stopped crying and was in true Lydia fashion, trying to find a rational explanation for it.

"It can't be her. She was cremated."

"She looks pretty uncremated to me," noted Malia.

Lydia shot her a look and Malia sunk back into her seat in the third row, arms crossed. Lydia gestured with a shaking hand at Allison, her head shaking in disbelief.

"She's not just un-cremated. She's literally been reconstituted out of thin air!"

Sadie turned to the woman beside her in the front seat, "So that wasn't in the instructions?"

Before Lydia could reply, the touchscreen in the center of the dashboard chimed, the call symbol with "Incoming Call: Husband " popping up.

Malia wrinkled her nose in the back, "Ew, gross."

Lydia reached out, hitting decline before Sadie could say anything. Sadie's hands were shaking on the steering wheel as she pulled into the Emergency Department parking lot with an abrupt left turn. Bringing the SUV to a stop, she flipped around in her seat, grabbing Scott's attention.

"I'm dropping you off. I need to get to the game."

Scott's jaw dropped in shock, "You can't be serious. Allison is alive and you're going to a lacrosse game?"

Sadie shook her head, not backing down. "No. I'm going to go explain to my husband what just fucking happened and be there for my son. You will call me with an update and we will meet back up."

Lydia put a hand on her shoulder, nodding in reassurance. "Go. I'll call you with any updates."

The parking lot of Beacon Hills High School was packed, the game starting in the next fifteen minutes. By some miracle, Sadie had made it before the game started. She parked on the bus lane, ignoring the yellow curb as she hopped out of her car and ran into the school. The hallways were empty as she rounded the corner towards the locker room, coming to a halt when she saw the two figures at the end of the hallway. Just behind them she could see the team in the locker room, her son included preparing to head to the field.

Derek looked over his shoulder at her, frowning as she jogged to stand beside him. Coach looked between the two of them bewildered. "Girl McCall?"

Sadie smiled, breathing out deeply to catch her breath, "Hey Coach!"

Derek paused, still giving Sadie a look that she knew meant disappointment before gesturing at Coach Finstock, "Coach is putting our son in the game for five minutes tonight."

Coach waved the lacrosse stick in his hand as if to clear the air, pointing the net end of it between Derek and Sadie. Sadie noted she'd never seen him look so confused and that was saying something after he had to endure Stiles on his team for several years.

"Hold on. You two. Made that?" and pointed behind him. The Hale parents looked over his shoulder at their son, who had fallen to the ground attempting to put his cleats on while standing. Derek grimaced, but Sadie stood proud. She was a mom after all.

"Yes Coach. Natural athlete just like his Mom," she gave Finstock a wide smile. Derek snorted beside her.

Still bewildered, Coach continued, "But you were on the swim team! And cross country! And Boy McCall, god the best player I've ever had! I could have used one of him every year on the team! I don't-" he paused, giving Derek a once over, "-you must be one uncoordinated bastard."

Coach shook his head in disappointment, turning from the couple and heading into the locker room. Once he was out of earshot Derek turned to Sadie.

"Where the hell have you been? Did you go to Los Angeles to buy coffee?" he said sarcastically, taking her hand and entwining their fingers together. Sadie gave his hand a squeeze as they rushed out into the stands, finding seats just as the first whistle blew. Coach had kept his word and their son was indeed on the field.

"Go Eli! Wooo!" Sadie shouted, cupping her hands around her mouth. Derek gave a shout of encouragement of his own, sitting down quickly in embarrassment when Eli jumped at his Father's shout, tripping over his feet and rolling to the ground. He truly was as uncoordinated as a baby deer. Derek gave Sadie's hand a reminding squeeze, "So where were you?" he asked, not taking his eyes off their son on the field.

The hallucinations. The glowing blue light. Allison, alive in the back of her SUV. Sadie couldn't keep any more secrets.

"I've been keeping a secret and now it's gotten too big to keep from you," she started, her voice cracking.

Derek's gaze immediately shifted to his wife, taking both her hands in his. His expression was hopeful, but also hesitant. Not at all what she expected. "Baby, are you saying you're-"

Swallowing thickly she shook her head no, eyes closing for a moment. Of course that's the first thing he'd think of with how the last few years had gone. It wasn't an emotion she expected to experience tonight; it was like her heart was breaking for them all over again.

Sadie opened her eyes, willing the tears back. "No, no I'm not."

Derek visibly was disappointed, but now more concerned than he had been before. "You're scaring me, Sades. What's going on?"

"Derek, tonight in the reserve we-" The crowd in the stands suddenly was screaming.

The Hales looked to the field to see Eli sprinting towards the goal with the ball. He'd never played in a game before let alone been this close to scoring a goal. His parents looked back at each other for a brief second in disbelief before leaping to their feet, screaming his name with the rest of the crowd. Eli pulled the stick back, aiming right at the goal when a player from the opposing team came just out of left field, absolutely knocking him to the ground. The crowd booed loudly as Eli hobbled to his feet and off the field, throwing his helmet to the ground beside the bench in anger. The teen limped towards the locker room, abandoning the game in defeat.

Derek already had Sadie's hand in his, leading her down out of the stands towards the locker room. Sadie called to Eli as Derek ran to him, exchanging some back and forth before he finally lifted his son off his feet. "Dad, please don't!"

The trio walked into the empty locker room, Eli begging to be put down the entire time. "You can't walk on it Eli, let him carry you."

"I can hop Mom!" Eli insisted. Derek finally let him down on one of the benches, sitting down on the bench beside his son. Sadie sat in a squat before her family, gently taking her son's leg in her hands to look it over. Eli hissed in pain, gritting his teeth. Sadie shot him a remorseful look as she gently put his leg back down.

"I think it's just twisted. We could go see Grandma to have it checked out just to be sure though."

Eli groaned, "Grandma's going to try to put it in a cast. Remember when I fell off the porch and she thought I should wear a neck brace to be safe? No thanks."

Derek looked at his son, hesitating to push him. "You know if you can heal, you can play tomorrow night and help them win. You almost had that shot!"

"No I didn't."

Sadie smiled widely, "You did! We saw it. You were right at the goal," she insisted.

Derek nodded in support, still trying to convince his son. "You're better than you think you are."

Scrubbing his hands over his face, Eli sighed in defeat. "I was in for less than a minute," he paused, "I got the ball for a second then got knocked on my ass and twisted my ankle." Eli leaned onto his elbows, his head hanging.

"It wasn't anything," he said softly.

"Eli," Sadie got off the ground to sit beside her son, reaching over to take his hand. To her surprise, he took it, squeezing back. She glanced up at Derek, urging him to say something. Her phone buzzed in her pocket, but she ignored it, focusing on her family in front of her.

"It was something. Coach saw it too. You're good. Really good," he paused, looking to Sadie for reassurance. She smiled softly, nodding for him to continue. "You just have to get back out there and show them again. If you're willing to finally learn to heal-"

Derek froze mid-sentence, eyes quickly scanning the empty locker room before he dove off the bench, pulling his wife and son to the ground. "GET DOWN!"

An arrow whizzed through the air, lodging in the locker behind where Eli's head had just been. Sadie's brain took a second to catch up, staring at the arrow before it all came crashing back to her. Allison. She couldn't get the words out to explain or warn Derek in time. Thankfully her husband was still fast to react. He'd already ushered them to their feet, urging them towards the exit and pushing a locker towards the shadowy figure holding the bow. The metal lockers clanged as one of her arrows didn't make its mark.

"Get him out of here! I'll hold them off!" Derek shouted, ducking to dodge another arrow. Sadie held tightly to her son, not hesitating to get him as far away from harm as possible. They'd had a peaceful fifteen years without anything like this happening, but thankfully Derek was ever paranoid and they'd had a family plan. He wasn't about to lose the rest of his family to another hunter. Sadie could feel son's frantic heartbeat under her palm as she all but carried him to her SUV. She hoped Scott was alright and how Allison went from unconscious to trying to kill her family. Hopefully her brother was on the way to help. If Allison hadn't already killed him first.

She fumbled with the keys for a moment, stopping Eli from getting into the passenger seat, pushing him towards the drive side door. He was shaking like a leaf, struggling to take the offered keys from his mother.

"Mom?" He was terrified and Sadie didn't want to leave him, but she couldn't leave Derek to face Allison or whatever that thing they thought was Allison, alone. She had to get her son out of here and as far away as she could. He couldn't transform and had no way to protect himself. Sadie pushed her son into the car, buckling his seatbelt and starting the engine for him. She took his chin into her hands, pushing back the curls that had fallen into his eyes.

"Eli Hale, you are going to take this car to the meet up point and do not stop for anything. If someone is following you, keep going and we will find you. Do you understand?"

Eli shifted uneasily, tears threatening to fall. "Mom, I can't-"

"Yes, you can. I need to help your Dad. We will find you. Now go!" she all but shouted in her son's face. Eli swallowed thickly, nodding quickly and putting the car into drive, pulling out of the parking lot nearly on two tires. With her son out of sight, Sadie pivoted, breaking into a run back towards the school entrance. As she neared, she could hear the roar of a werewolf, but it wasn't her wolf. Someone had come to help. Hopefully they weren't too late.

Sadie pushed through the double doors to absolute horror. At the end of the hall lay her husband, a trail of blood leading from the locker room to his body. Crouching beside him was Scott, Liam and a woman she'd never met before. All three looked up at her, "Derek!"

Falling to her knees beside him, her eyes frantically followed his hands clasped tightly around his bleeding neck to the blood spurting from his mouth as he tried to speak. His eyes were wide as he reached a hand out to her, "Eli, where's-"

She took his offered hand, pressing it to her lips and carding a hand through his hair. The look Scott was giving her made her feel like this was the end even though she could see the slow start of Derek's neck healing through the blood soaked cracks in his fingers. The black veins starting to creep from the wound did concern her. Wolfsbane. "Shh, don't try to talk."

Her head snapped up to meet Scott's gaze, "You need to go to the shop. We had a plan, if something ever happened. It's our meet up point. He has my car"

Scott quickly got to his feet, unsure about leaving the pair. Sadie recognized the hesitation and snapped at him, "Scott! I've got him, Liam's here. I know what to do for wolfsbane. You need to go find and protect your nephew who loves you very much!"

The Alpha didn't wait for another command, starting off down the hallway as Liam called out to him. "It's not just Allison!" Scott paused in the doorway, frowning at Liam. The Beta cast a glance down at Sadie and a nearly unconscious Derek. "It's the Oni. The Nogitsune. They're coming."
